Sunflower broomrape in Serbia: virulence and resistance strategies in response to environmental changes
Broomrape (Orobanche cumana Wallr.) is a major threat to sunflower production worldwide, with significant presence primarily in northern Serbia. Since the mid-1990s, race E of broomrape has been dominant, but recent results in virulence determination indicate an increase in virulence in several locations in Serbia. The aim of the study was to understand the sunflower broomrape virulence in Serbia by selecting the most virulent populations study diversity among races. Genetic structure analysis was compared with populations from the Black Sea region, heavily affected by the parasite. The analysis revealed two gene pools: first populations from north Batka, mainly F race and linked to a Hungarian population and second with populations from the south Banat region, dominant virulence G and similar to a Russian population

Technologies also enable tracking of food quality and safety, providing tools for supply chain monitoring and risk identification. Educational resources, such as online courses and webinars, enable farmers to access the latest information and best practices. Integrating IT into organic agriculture increases efficiency, productivity, and sustainability, contributing to the development of sustainable food systems, environmental preservation, and biodiversity conservation
Scientific achievements in the twenty-first century
The term 'science' are going to be utilized in this paper within the Anglo-Saxon sense of natural science, paying attention of the actual fact that in some languages the homologous term refers to any or all areas of learning. Science during this narrow sense includes mathematics, physics, astronomy and cosmology, chemistry, biology, medicine, earth sciences, and therefore the environmental sciences. The traditional university science curriculum was designed to coach specialists in specific disciplines. Science has played a vital role in identifying major global environmental challenges, and can be absolutely essential for devising and monitoring appropriate corrective actions. There are breathtaking technological advances which might provide images of living human tissues. Ultrasound, and tomographic and resonance imaging have provided novel diagnostic resources, especially by providing three-dimensional images. These advances have dramatically improved physician's abilities to supply preventive health-care, to boost diagnostics, and to organize surgery. Surgery of this sort relied on advances in optical instruments as they made use of operating microscopes. Surgical operations now routinely performed. Now students are taught the way to identify, formulate, and solve diverse problems
Insights into oilseed rape seed deterioration: accelerated ageing effects on lipid composition and germination processes on lipid composition and germination processes
Although high-quality naturally refined oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids that give it exceptional biological value and a distinctive role within human nutrition, precisely because of its chemical composition oilseed rape seeds have limited longevity. This study addresses the complex dynamics of oilseed rape seed deterioration, shedding light on the impact of accelerated and natural aging on lipid composition and subsequent effects on germination and early seedling growth. Seeds from four oilseed rape varieties underwent 72 hours of accelerated aging at 41 °C and 100% relative humidity. Gas chromatography was employed for fatty acid (FA) composition analysis after converting FAs into volatile methyl esters (FAME). Tocopherols were quantified using high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection. Results revealed high initial germination across all genotypes, with a notable decline after one year of storage. Double-stress conditions intensified this decline, emphasizing the vulnerability of seeds to elevated temperature and humidity. Genotypic differences in germination underscore distinct mechanisms for preserving vigour under stress. Both natural and accelerated aging induced a significant reduction in unsaturated fatty acids, notably oleic and eicosenoic acids. The study highlights the crucial role of tocopherols in mitigating oxidative stress and preserving seed quality during aging. Altered lipid composition emerged as a factor influencing seed viability and seedling morphology, particularly under short-term storage and deterioration conditions. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of oilseed rape seed resilience and offer insights into potential strategies for enhancing seed storage and maintaining seed quality in the face of environmental stressors

U bilo kom, do sada poznatom, sistemu proizvodnje kvalitet i prinos povrća zavisi od ekoloških uslova, bioloških zahteva, morfološkog izgleda biljke, fizioloških osobina, genetskog potencijala sorte i primenjene agrotehnike. Da bi pomenuti uslovi i genetski potencijal gajene biljke došli do izražaja istorijski su se razvijali različiti sistemi biljne proizvodnje, pa i proizvodnje povrća. Sistem organske proizvodnje je jedan od najstarijih sistema gajenja koji kombinuje tradiciju i inovacije radi proizvodnje zdravstveno bezbednog proizvoda za svežu potrošnju ili za potrebe prerađivačke industrije. Sistem organske proizvodnje ima za cilj stvaranje sveobuhvatnog, ekološki i ekonomski prihvatljivog i održivog sistema gajenja povrća u bašti, na njivi i u različitim oblicima i tipovima zaštićenog prostora. U tehnološkom procesu proizvodnje koriste se prirodni potrošni i repromaterijali. Upotreba sintetičkih đubriva, pesticida, regulatora rasta, antibiotika, hormona, veštačkih aditiva, jonizujućeg zračenja i genetski modifikovanih organizama, strogo je ograničena ili zabranjena.In any previously known system of vegetable production, the quality and yield of vegetables depend on ecological conditions, biological requirements, plant morphological appearance, physiological characteristics, genetic potential of the variety, and applied agrotechnics. To emphasize the conditions and genetic potential of the cultivated plant, various systems of plant production, including vegetable production, have historically evolved. The organic farming system is one of the oldest cultivation methods, combining tradition and innovation to produce a safe product for fresh consumption or for the needs of the processing industry. The goal of organic farming is to create a comprehensive, environmentally and economically acceptable, and sustainable system for cultivating vegetables in gardens, fields, and various forms and types of protected spaces. Natural consumables and raw materials are used in the production process.
