Prospects on detection of the Fermi Bubbles with the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory

    No full text
In 2010, the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope observed two gamma-ray emitting structures, the Fermi Bubbles (FBs), that extend up to 55° above and below the Galactic plane and that seem to emanate from the Galactic center region. Although the spectrum at latitudes |b| > 10° has a softening or a cutoff around 100 GeV, the one at the base of the FBs, |b| <10°, extends up to about 1 TeV without a significant cutoff in the Fermi LAT data. The mechanism behind the FBs production is currently under debate. More observations of the FBs at different energies are required to improve our understanding of their origin. Recently, H.E.S.S. and HAWC observatory have set upper limits on the FBs. In this work, we assess the sensitivity of the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO) using the "alpha configuration" in the South site to detect the FBs and investigate the optimal strategies for their detection at low latitudes. We simulate the observations using the official CTAO science tool gammapy, considering several benchmark models for the FBs and the interstellar emission and test different observational strategies taking advantage of the proposed CTAO consortium surveys. We use these simulations to estimate the CTAO sensitivity to the FBs

Dark matter and galaxy cross-correlations with the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory

    No full text
The Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO) will be a ground-based Cherenkov telescope performing wide-sky surveys, ideal for anisotropy studies such as cross-correlations with tracers of the cosmic large-scale structure. Cross-correlations can shed light on high-energy γ-ray sources and potentially reveal exotic signals from particle dark matter. In this work, we investigate CTAO sensitivity to cross-correlation signals between γ-ray emission and galaxy distributions. We find that by using dense, low-redshift catalogs like 2 MASS, and for integration times around 50 hours, this technique achieves sensitivities to both annihilating and decaying dark matter signals that are competitive with those from dwarf galaxy and cluster analyses

Slovenian Bio-Art, New Materialism and Posthuman Feminism

This study explores Slovenian bio-art through the lens of new materialism and feminist posthumanism, focusing on six prominent artists: Saša Spačal, Robertina Šebjanič, Špela Petrič, Doroteja Dolinšek, Zoran Srdič Janežič, and Maja Smrekar. Their work interrogates interspecies relationships, ecological entanglements, and technological mediation, offering critical insights into contemporary bio-media practices. Positioned within a robust institutional framework of long-standing associations and a national funding scheme, these artists have achieved international recognition while contributing significantly to the development of intermedia art globally. Exemplified by a selected artwork each, their artistic practices are situated within new materialist, media ecological and posthuman feminist theoretical discourses. The paper highlights how contemporary bio-artistic practices challenge anthropocentric narratives, foster multispecies ethics, and redefine both uman and non-human agency. The particular ecosystem of the globally entangled yet in some ways also specifically Slovenian bio-art may demonstrate how artistic practices can facilitate ecological awareness and technological critique while fostering alternative modes of knowing, and eventually contribute to positioning art as a transformative force in contemporary cultural discourse. From 7 to 28 February 2025, Xcenter presented an exhibition of four young Ukrainian artists: Stefania Bodnia (& Jack Dove), Margo Sarkisova, Alex Sirous and Maria Matiashova. The exhibition presents a condensed setup of four different Ukrainian artistic positions, meeting in a compelling yet poetical critique of militarization, imperialism, and the moral and ecological ruptures of our time, expressed through different languages of contemporary art. Curated by Peter Purg, the exhibition is part of GO! 2025 official programme. Razstavo kurira Peter Purg

Analysis of organisational climate at Meblo INT

    No full text
The aim of the thesis is to analyse the organisational climate, its dimensions, and the employees\u27 perception of it with the application to the company Meblo INT. In the introductory part of the thesis, the concept of organisational climate, its characteristics, measurement, acceptance, difference between organisational climate and culture, and dimensions of organisational climate are explained. In the second part of the thesis, a survey was conducted among employees using an anonymous questionnaire. Employees were given the opportunity to express their satisfaction or dissatisfaction with all 14 dimensions of the organisational climate. Fifteen employees responded to the invitation to fill in the anonymous questionnaire and expressed their (dis)satisfaction with the statements. The average rating of the organistional climate was 4.90 indicating that employees were satisfied with the organisational climate. The highest score (5.91) was given to the dimension "attitude towards quality" and the lowest score (3.45) was given to the dimension "rewards". The data were processed to provide a basis for developing the most appropriate guidelines for changing the organisational climate or to identify what needs to be done to improve the current situation
