    The limits of freedom

Syntactic investigations of the so called ‘free word order’ languages typically focus on a small set of non-canonical orderings within a given compositional meaning that are attributed either to a single displacement operation (e.g. ‘left-branch extraction’) or some other factor (e.g. information structure). An empirical assessment of acceptability patterns over the full set of orderings available within the space of permutational possibilities is rarely undertaken on a non-trivial scaleconsequently, the full extent of actual word order flexibility available to the speakers of these languages is difficult to estimate. In this study, using the factorial methodology of experimental syntax, we report the results of a sentence acceptability judgment task in Serbo-Croatian which includes a full set of permutations over a five-word kernel. Analyses of variance in the collected patterns of acceptability data permit one to quantitatively assess the ‘weight’ or impact of each displacement and their combinations on acceptability of respective permutational variants. They also suggest that despite having to deal with an (expectedly) larger spectrum of acceptable permutational variants, speakers of Serbo-Croatian are sensitive to abstract structural properties such as constituency, special status of clausal left-periphery as well as distinct origin of particular displacement types. We discuss some methodological aspects of larger-scale permutational studies and their potential benefits as a fine-tuned instrument for probing into the phenomenon of free word order at the level of native speakers’ intuitions

Prispevek opiše multimedijski projekt, v katerem smo iz-vedli raziskavo o dvojni identiteti in dvojnem pomenu dela Branislave Sušnik v kulturnih okoljih Slovenije in Paragvaja. To z različnih vidikov (besedila, film, vizualno gradivo, splet) ponuja raznovrstnost pogledov na delo, lik in dediščino slovensko-paragvajske znanstvenice Branislave Sušnik. The article presents Moradas de Branislava Susnik | Branislava Sušnik‘s Dwellings, a research that has assumed various forms since its initiation in 2019: as a bilingual portal (March–April 2020), an exhibition ( July 2020), a documentary film about the birthplace of Branislava Sušnik, A House InBetween Waters, by Henrike von Dewitz (in the making – September 2020) and, a bilingual monograph Branislava Susnik’s Dwellings: Documents, Texts, Images and Testimonials. Within the framework of this multimedia project, research was conducted into the dual identity, affilia-tion and dual meaning of Branislava Sušnik’s work in the cultural environments of Slovenia and Paraguay. Taking Medvode, Branislava Sušnik’s birthplace, as a starting point, the project adopts both inter- and transdisciplinary approach. In addition to the results of the research undertaken in Medvode, it includes translated and original works, as well as unprecedented and previously unpublished material contributed by artists, writers and researchers from Slovenia and Paraguay. This material provides a variety of views (considered from different angles: written works, film, visual material, the Web) of the work, personality and legacy of the Slovenian-Paraguayan scientist Branislava Sušnik

Čustva so dandanes nedvomno ena najbolj priljubljenih tem mladinske književnosti. V ta namen bova analizirali estetske, spoznavne in etične prvine različnih literarnih besedil, prevedenih v slovenščino iz španščine, in sicer seriji knjig o Joni Juana Kruza Igerabide in Barvna pošast Ane Llenas. Projekt Cienlee namreč s sodelovanjem različnih skupin spodbuja kritično analizo in literarno vrednotenje v večkulturnih kontekstih. Vključuje univerzalne teme, ki presegajo meje, in spodbuja razumevanje skupne stvarnosti. V tem okviru imajo slovenski pisatelji osrednjo vlogo, saj ponujajo pripovedi, ki odražajo kulturno in družbeno raznolikost ter prispevajo k oblikovanju kritičnih in empatičnih bralcev.Emotions are undoubtedly one of the most popular topics in children\u27s literature nowadays. Both researchers and authors show their interest in emotional competence, along with reading, digital, visual and other skills. The aim of our paper will be to reflect on this attention. Is it a new stage in the development of the image of the child, from seeing him/her as a reduced adult (Aries) to conceiving him/her as a being with his/her own needs, including the need to play, think and feel in a particular way (Blažič)? Or is it a mere development of the theme dealt with by many classical authors? Or is it an attempt to offer a utilitarian view of children\u27s literature, as can happen with adult literature (Felski)

This research indicates that the SEE region, particularly countries not governed by EU regulations, experiences poor air quality. It highlights the necessity for similar measurements in the future to accurately evaluate the air quality and propose adequate measures. The study also encourages the establishment of an air quality index predicated on BC (Fung, 2022) and CA as such measurement network offers better time and spatial resolution and is more relevant to human health than the one based on PM2.5/PM10
