    MASS MEDIA ANALYSIS

    Od samih začetaka različitih oblika oglašavanja, masovni mediji načinili su najveći preokret početkom 20. stoljeća. Svijet bez masovnih medija u modernom dobu 21. stoljeća čini se nezamislivim. Stvoreni znanjem i umijećem čovjeka, postali su neizostavni dio modernoga društva, oblik poslovanja, vođenje evidencija i analiza te dio suvremene potrebe odnosa s javnošću. Suvremeni oblik oglašavanja putem masovnih medija otkrio je novu dimenziju prepoznatljivosti novih, ali i starih poznatih tvrtki, poslovnica, brendova, kao i trendova u svijetu. Ovaj rad sastoji se od devet naslovljenih poglavlja. U prvom poglavlju govorimo o samoj svrsi završnoga rada kao i predmetu i cilju koji su okvir teme. Drugo poglavlje svjedoči o rasprostranjenosti medija, masovnih medija i oblicima oglašavanja. Nakon uvoda i značaja masovnih medija i njihovih oblika, osvrt iduće točke rada je na prošlost medija i prvim značajnim oblicima oglašavanja, tj. načinu na koji su izrealizirane reklamne kampanje i njihova efektivnost. I u nastavku u sljedećem poglavlju proći ćemo kroz uspješne i manje uspješne reklamne kampanje u Republici Hrvatskoj u začetcima 20. stoljeća. Aktualni oblik oglašavanja putem virtualnih mreža iduće je poglavlje koje govori o ozbiljnoj zastupljenosti oglasa na internetu, njihovoj zastupljenosti, svrsi i navikama u suvremenom svijetu. Virtualne platforme su iduća točka koja govori o korištenju i prednostima raznih platformi poput Instagrama, Facebooka i Twittera i njihovim laganim, kratkim, ali efektivnim načinima stjecanja pozornosti od strane korisnika, kao i njihovih administratora. Nakon virtualnih platformi, u sedmom se poglavlju spominje kohezija između oglašavanja i reklamiranja prehrambenih dijetalnih i zdravih proizvoda putem Facebook platforme, točnije istoimene društvene mreže. Vezano uz to, osvrnut ću se na stari poznati brand Kraša „Životinjsko carstvo“, kao primjer starog oblika oglašavanja i njegovu učinkovitost na prodaju. Nakon primjene oglašavanja rezultatima ankete će se prikazati rezultati istraživanja, stavovi ispitanika te učestalost gledanja reklamnih poruka kupaca na primjeru praćenja reklama prehrambenih zdravih proizvoda te zainteresiranost gledatelja za isto.From the beginnings of the advertising form, the mass media made the greatest turnaround at the beginning of the twentieth century. It is impossible to imagine today's modern age, the twenty-first century, without a world without mass media. Created by human knowledge and skill, mass media have become an indispensable part of modern society, a form of business, record keeping, and analysis, and they have become part of today's need for public relations. Today's form of advertising through the mass media has opened up a new dimension of awareness of new and old well-known companies, subsidiaries, industries, brands and trends in the world. This paper consists of 9 chapters with different titles. The first chapter deals with the actual purpose of the thesis as well as the topic and objective that frame the topic. The second chapter deals with the dissemination of media, mass media and forms of advertising. After the introduction and importance of mass media itself and its forms, the next point of the thesis is about the past of media and the first significant forms of advertising. The way in which advertising campaigns were carried out and their effectiveness for the continuation of the whole are discussed in the fourth chapter, based on successful and less successful advertising campaigns in the Republic of Croatia at the beginning of the 20th century. The modern form of advertising through virtual networks is the next chapter, which deals with the serious presentation of advertising on the Internet, its presentation and its purpose and habit in the modern world. Virtual platforms are the next point of continuation, which deals with the use and advantages of different platforms such as (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter) and their simple, concise, but effective way of attracting the attention of users and their administrators. After the virtual platforms, the seventh chapter mentions the relationship between advertising and promotion of dietary and healthy products through Facebook platform i.e. social network. In addition, a review of the old known brand „Kraš“; "Životinjsko carstvo" is touched upon as a review of the old form of advertising and its sales effectiveness. Following the application of advertising will be a survey based on the respondents the frequency of viewing advertising by customers on the example of watching advertisements for healthy food products and the interest of viewers as well

    Adsorption of Humic Acid from Water Using Chemically Modified Bituminous Coal-based Activated Carbons

    Humic acid (HA) impairs water quality due to its reactivity with many substances present in water. During the drinking-water treatment process and water distribution via water supply system, HA present in water may react with chlorine and other disinfects producing harmful disinfection by-products (DBPs), which are categorized by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in groups 2A (probably carcinogenic to humans) or 2B (possibly carcinogenic to humans). Several studies have investigated and reported increased HA removal by iron-coated sorbents. Therefore, the aim of this study was to examine the removal of HA from water by two commercially available bituminous coal-based activated carbons (ACs), Cullar D (Cm) and Hydraffin 30N (Hm). Prior to testing the chosen adsorbents were chemically modified according to two protocols: (1) oxidation by acid mixture (m1), and (2) oxidation with acid mixture followed by iron-ions impregnation (m2). The batch adsorption tests were used to test their efficiency in HA removal under various values of process parameters (initial HA concentration, pH, contact time, adsorbent mass, and temperature). The results showed that up to 96 % of HA removal can be obtained by Cullar D modification Cm1, while maximum uptake of HA by Hydraffin 30N modification was achieved with Hm1 (62.1 %). After surface saturation with Fe3+ –ions (m2), both activated carbons showed similar and lower performances in HA removal (Cm2 up to 66.5 %, and Hm2 up to 50.3 %). FTIR analysis confirmed differences in modified AC structures, as well as favorable structure of Cm1 for HA adsorption

    Završni rad prikazuje važnost postprodajnog zadovoljstva kupca u poslovanju bilo koje tvrtke. Opisuju se značajke uspješnih tvrtki i čimbenici bitni za poslovanje (tehnološki izazov, konkurencija i zahtjevi potrošača). Određuju se kupci i njihove potrebe, zadovoljstvo kupca kao cilj organizacije te se definira zadovoljstvo klijenata i zadovoljstvo potrošača kao mjerilo. Prikazuje se odnos stalnih i nestalnih potrošača te važnost postprodajnih aktivnosti. Navode se metode praćenja zadovoljstva kupaca te upitnik kao glavni instrument istraživanja zadovoljstva. Ističe se potreba uvođenja CRM (Customer Relationship Menagement) sustava radi lakšeg nastavka poslovne suradnje s kupcem. Obrađuje se poslijeprodajno usluživanje te poslijeprodajno zadovoljstvo u hotelijerstvu kroz primjer najveće turističke kompanije u Hrvatskoj - Valamar Riviera d.d. i Cefalu Resort Sporting Club, Sicilija (koji koristi polustrukturirani intervju i metoda kritičnog incidenta). Na kraju se navode neizostavni Standardi ISO 9000.The final paper shows the importance of after-sales customer satisfaction in the business of any company. The characteristics of successful companies and factors important for business (technological challenge, competition and consumer requirements) are described. Customers and their needs, customer satisfaction as the goal of the organization are determined, and customer satisfaction and consumer satisfaction as a measure are defined. The relationship between regular and non-regular consumers and the importance of after-sales activities are presented. Methods of monitoring customer satisfaction and a questionnaire are listed as the main instrument of satisfaction research. The need to introduce a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system is emphasized in order to facilitate the continuation of business cooperation with the customer. After-sales service and after-sales satisfaction in the hotel industry are discussed through the example of the largest tourist company in Croatia - Valamar Riviera d.d. and Cefalu Resort Sporting Club, Sicily (which uses a semi-structured interview and critical incident method). Finally, the indispensable ISO 9000 Standards are listed

    The Influence of Fermenting Yeast on the Sensory Properties of Graševina Wine

    Recent research has showed a breakthrough in investigating the effect of non-Saccharomyces yeast on wine quality and sensory properties. The aim of this study was to compare the influence of conventional yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, vs. that of the non-Saccharomyces Torulaspora delbrueckii on the sensory profile of the white wine Graševina, and to establish if there are any differences in physical–chemical properties in regards to the applied yeast. Sample One was inoculated with both yeasts, while Sample Two was inoculated only with S. cerevisiae. The results indicated that a combination of T. delbrueckii and S. cerevisiae resulted in somewhat higher ethanol content in the finished wine. Sensory evaluation showed no significant discrepancies for any of the wines. Aspect and flavor were graded similarly, but the quality and intensity of the bouquet of Sample One was graded somewhat higher (14 and 6.6) than Sample Two (13.6 and 6.4). These findings open a very wide gate for future research in white wines

    Poduzetništvo predstavlja inovativne procese koji kombiniraju različite čimbenike i aktivnosti uz određene rizike kako bi ostvarili odgovarajući rezultat. Kako bi se poticalo na veći i ubrzani razvoj poduzetništva, a time i gospodarski razvoj, potrebno je poboljšanje poslovne klime, a za to su potrebna nepovratna sredstva i financiranje sredstvima iz Europske unije. Kroz rad će se analizirati poduzetništvo i njegovo okruženje na nacionalnoj razini, ali pozornost je na regiji Slavonije i Baranje. Regija Slavonije i Branje ima veliki potencijal, ali i dalje zaostaje i proživljava probleme koji su intenzivniji nego u drugim dijelovima Republike Hrvatske. Radom se nastoji ukazati na probleme koji su rješivi uvođenjem novih tehnologija, investicijama, inovacijama i digitalizacijom poduzetništva regije Slavonije i Baranje.Entrepreneurship is an innovative process that combines different factors and activities with certain risks to achieve the appropriate result. In order to encourage greater and accelerated development of entrepreneurship, and thus economic development, it is necessary to improve the business climate, and this requires grants and funding from the European Union. The paper will analyze entrepreneurship and its environment at the national level, but the focus is on the region of Slavonia and Baranja. The region of Slavonia and Branje has great potential, but it is still lagging behind and experiencing problems that are more intense than in other parts of the Republic of Croatia. The paper seeks to point out the problems that can be solved by introducing new technologies, investments, innovations and digitalization of entrepreneurship in the region of Slavonia and Baranja

    Tema završnog rada je uspješno pregovaranje u engleskom jeziku. Cilj rada je prikazati važnost pregovaranja u poslovnom okruženju te na koji je način povezano znanje engleskog jezika s uspješnim pregovorima. Prikazati će se važnost vještine pregovaranja, koje su osnove prilikom pregovaranja, moguće strategije te utjecaj pregovaranja na poslovanje. Svrha rada je objasniti procese i subprocese pregovaranja te na koji način se pregovori odvijaju u različitim kulturama. Drugo poglavlje bavi se osnovama pregovaranja, objašnjava koje su njihove karakteristike, strategije pregovaranja, što je to komunikacija i etika pregovaranja. Treće poglavlje bavi se pregovaranjem između dviju strana i kako učinkovito pregovarati. Dio trećeg poglavlja obrađuje situacije u kojima pregovori nisu uspjeli. Četvrto poglavlje će objasniti kako je engleski jezik postao drugi jezik većine stanovnika i kako se pregovarači trebaju odnositi u pregovorima prema drugim kulturama.The topic of the final paper is ”Successful Negotiation in English”. This paper aims to show the importance of negotiation in a business environment and how the knowledge of the English language can mean success in negotiations. The importance of negotiating skills, basics of negotiating, possible strategies, and the impact of negotiating is explained. Furthermore, the objective of this paper is to explain the processes and subprocesses of negotiating and how they differ in various cultures. The second chapter explains the basics of negotiation, its characteristics, strategies that can be used, what is communication, as well as ethics in negotiation. The third chapter deals with negotiations between two sides and how to negotiate effectively. Part of the third chapter covers situations in which the negotiations have failed. The final chapter explains how the English language became the second language to most of the world’s population and how the negotiators should deal with other cultures

    U radu se analizira odgovornost za štetu službenika kao zaposlenika državnih i lokalnih tijela. Pri tome se polazi se od općenite odgovornosti za štetu. Težište se stavlja na odgovornost državnih i lokalnih službenika za počinjenu štetu. Analizom generalnih i posebnih zakona koji se odnose na službenike pojašnjava se način utvrđivanja te visinu i okolnosti nastanka štete. Na kraju rada predstavljaju se i praktični primjeri odgovornosti za štetu iz sudske prakse, literature i medija.The paper analyzes the liability for damage to officials as employees of state and local authorities. The starting point is the general liability for damage. The focus is on the responsibility of state and local officials for the damage done. The analysis of general and special laws relating to civil servants clarifies the manner of determining and the amount and circumstances of the damage. At the end of the paper, practical examples of liability for damage from case law, literature are presented and media

    DETERMINATION OF PHYSICOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS OF WASTEWATER POLLUTION ON A MECHANICAL TREATMENT PLANT

    Cilj ovog rada je bio je analizirati i odrediti fizikalno-kemijske parametre u uzorcima kanalizacijske otpadne vode na ulazu i na izlazu s mehaničkog pužnog pročistača, prvog stupnja pročišćavanja. Dobiveni rezultati na izlazu s pročistača moraju odgovarati najmanje 50 % smanjenog opterećenja u odnosu na ulaz. U analizama uzoraka su određeni slijedeći parametri: ukupni dušik, ukupni fosfor, BPKbiokemijska potrošnja kisika, KPK-kemijska potrošnja kisika, te suspendirana tvar. Od 10 analiziranih uzoraka, 5 je sa ulaza, a 5 sa izlaza mehaničkog pročistača. Ispitivanjem je u jednom od uzoraka dokazana koncentracija suspendirane tvari i BPK5 veća od MDK vrijednosti. Rezultati moraju biti u sukladnosti s Pravilnikom o graničnim vrijednostima emisija otpadnih voda (NN 26/2020), te prema Vodopravnoj dozvoli koju izdaju Hrvatske vode. Sa uzorcima koji nisu u skladu s MDK vrijednosti postupa se sukladno operativnom planu mjera za slučaj izvanrednih i iznenadnih onečišćenja voda za cjelokupni sustav javne odvodnje.The aim of this study was to analyze and determine the physicochemical parameters in the sewage effluent samples at the inlet and outlet of the mechanical auger purifier, the first stage of purification. The results obtained at the outlet of the purifier must correspond to at least 50 % of the reduced load in relation to the inlet. The analysis of the samples determines: Total nitrogen, total phosphorus, BODbiochemical oxygen demand, COD-chemical oxygen demand, determination of suspended solids in wastewater. Of the 10 samples analyzed, 5 were from the inlet and 5 from the outlet of the mechanical purifier. The concentration of suspended solids and BOD5 higher than the MDK value was proven in one of the samples by testing. The results are compared with the Ordinance on limit values for wastewater emissions (NN 26/2020), and Water Permit issued by Croatian Waters. Samples that do not comply with the MDK values are handled in accordance with the operational plan of measures in case of extraordinary and sudden water pollution for the entire public sewerage system

    ECONOMY AND RAISING HAZELNUT PLANTATIONS ON THE BALOG FAMILY FARM

    Na OPG-u Balog za sadnju lijeske odlučeno je iz razloga što početna ulaganja nisu prevelika (ako već posjedujete vlastito zemljište), višestruka uporabna vrijednost, biljka ne zahtjeva prevelike agrotehničke mjere i dosta su povoljni agroekološki uvjeti za lijesku u našem kraju. U radu je opisana morfologija lijeske, pomotehnika i agrotehnika od sadnje do berbe lijeske, te ekonomija na vlastitom primjeru (OPG-u Balog). Literatura je korištena iz knjiga. Uzgojni oblik je stablo, nasad je u ekološkoj proizvodnji, od sorti imamo: Istarski duguljasti, Rimski, Lambert i Tonda Gentile delle Langhe. Danas u trogodišnjem nasadu posjedujemo oko 600 stabala na površini od 1,15 ha.The Balog family farm decided to plant hazelnuts because the initial investments are not too big (if you already own your own land), multiple use value, the plant does not require too much agrotehnical measures and agroecological conditions for hazelnuts are quite favorable in our area. The paper describes the morphology of hazelnuts, auxiliary techniques and agrotechnics from planting to harvesting hazelnuts, and economics on its our own example (OPG Balog). Literature was used from books. The cultivation form is a tree, the plantation is in organic production, of the varieties we have: Istrian oblong, Roman, Lambert and Tonda Gentile delle Langhe. Today, in a three-year plantation, we have obout 600 trees on an area od 1.15 ha

    Effect of Type and Concentration of Carrier Material on the Encapsulation of Pomegranate Peel Using Spray Drying Method

    This study aimed to establish a procedure for pomegranate peel (PP) valorization and attainment of stable extracts with preserved bioactive compounds. The technology applied was spray drying with carbohydrate-based (maltodextrin, MD) and protein-based (whey protein, WP) carrier materials in different concentrations (80, 100, and 120%). What was analyzed was the impact of the type and concentration of carrier material on the stability and quality of the final encapsulated powder. The best results were achieved when the PP extract was microencapsulated with the carbohydrate-based carrier (100%), where it had the highest encapsulation efficiency (EE) (88.63%), hygroscopicity (15.17%), and water solubility index (87.04%). The moisture content was in the range of 3.69–4.60% and 4.21–5.84% for MD and WP, respectively, indicating that both are suitable for long-term storage. It was observed that changes in carrier concentration significantly influenced most of the powders’ physicochemical properties. Microencapsulation using MD yielded a higher content of punicalin, punicalagin, gallic, and ellagic acid than those with WP. Overall results demonstrated that carbohydrate-based microencapsulation can be utilized efficiently for the protection of powder stability and phytochemical characteristics
