Przyczyniła się do stworzenia gałęzi nauki nazywanej mikrobiologią konserwatorską. Get PDFW artykule opisano spory wokół sposobów zbierania danych na temat smogu w Polsce. Ramą teoretyczną analizy są studia nad nauką i technologią, a w szczególności badania nad rolą infrastruktur, standardów i danych. W części opisowej przedstawiono rolę infrastruktury pomiarowej w kształtowaniu relacji pomiędzy różnymi podmiotami zajmujący się pomiarem jakości powietrza, a następnie zanalizowano dwa wymiary konfliktu. Pierwszy z nich dotyczy kwestii metodologicznych i związany jest z rzetelnością pomiaru. Drugi natomiast – ontologii smogu, to znaczy odmiennego ujmowania problemu zanieczyszczenia przez ekspertów i obywateli, co ma przełożenie na praktyki społeczne.Artykuł powstał na bazie badań prowadzonych w ramach projektu Infrastruktury smogu – analiza kontrowersji, konfliktów i społecznego oddziaływania metrologii finansowanego ze środków Wydziału Filozofii i Nauk Społecznych UMK (nr 1068-H)
Historical Retrospective of the Development of Scientific Approaches to Health-Saving Activity in Society
Get PDFPrerequisites For many representatives of the pedagogical science the study of historical and pedagogical sources, as well as issues of formation, strengthening and preservation of the child’s health became the object of scientific analysis long ago. Scientists of the past tried to substantiate the theoretical and methodological features of the child’s health protection in a combination with mental development and physical education, emphasized the importance of teaching the child in accordance with his/her age, mental and physical abilities. In these circumstances, the problem of qualitative training of future teachers who are ready for education and the formation of a healthy lifestyle which will ensure the harmonious development of each child’s personality, as well as outline the main approaches to the implementation of health-saving technologies in education, is becoming of special urgency. The article deals with the genesis of historical approaches and also analyses the main tendencies in the development of scientific views on health-saving activities, the identification and substantiation of the main stages in the development of theoretical concepts of preserving human health, the attitude of society towards the problems of health protection, which reflect the dynamic manifestation of universal values and needs. Methods Regarding the genesis of historical approaches, as well as analysis of the main tendencies in the development of scientific views on the health protection, a set of methods was used: theoretical methods: a comparative analysis of psychological, pedagogical, philosophical and health-saving literature to generalize scientific facts regarding the development of health-saving activities in society; retrospective analysis, scientific reflection to form a holistic view of the phenomenon of health protection; empirical methods: diagnostic (sociological observations). Results Results consist in the analysis of the main tendencies in the development of scientific views on the health protection and health-saving activities, the identification and substantiation of the main stages of the formation of theoretical concepts of human health protection in general, and child’s in particular, the attitude of society to the problems of health protection that reflect the dynamic manifestation of universal values and needs. Conclusions The main tendencies in the development of scientific views on the health protection and health-saving activity have been studied and analysed, the main stages in the development formation of theoretical concepts of health protection have been identified and substantiated. This article does not exhaust all aspects of the problem under consideration and actualizes the need for increased attention to further fundamental research, theoretical developments and practices of historical heritage, the implementation of the most advanced health-saving technologies in education
How research on language evolution contributes to linguistics
Get PDFSince its inception in the second part of the 20th century, the science of language evolution has been exerting a growing and formative pressure on linguistics. More obviously, given its interdisciplinary character, the science of language evolution provides a platform on which linguists can meet and discuss a variety of problems pertaining to the nature of language and ways of investigating it with representatives of other disciplines and research traditions. It was largely in this way that the attention of linguists was attracted to the study of emerging sign languages and gestures, as well as to the resultant reflection on the way different modalities impact communicative systems that use them. But linguistics also benefits from the findings made by language evolution researchers in the context of their own research questions and methodologies. The most important of these findings come out of the experimental research on bootstrapping communication systems and the evolution of communicative structure, and from mass comparison studies that correlate linguists data with a wide range of environmental variables.Uniwersytet Mikołaja Kopernika w Toruni

Topics that are covered include, from NO to HNO chemistry, peroxide activation in model porphyrin and enzymatic systems, the wonder-world of RuIII(edta) chemistry, redox chemistry of Ru(iii) complexes, Ru(ii) polypyridyl complexes and their application, relevant physicochemical properties and reaction mechanisms in ionic liquids, and mechanistic insight from computational chemistry. Get PDFSpotkania ze świętymi mają różne wymiary, jednym z ważniejszych jest odwołanie się do ich słów oraz świadectw osób, które spotkały ich na swojej drodze życia, także w perspektywie duchowej. W niniejszym tekście zapraszam do spotkania z bł. ks. Stefanem Wincentym Frelichowskim. Przywołam zarówno jego słowa, jak i świadectwa rożnych osób odnoszące się do jego osoby. Na początku odwołam się do słów bpa Andrzeja Suskiego z Torunia, który w taki sposób opisał swoje spotkanie z ks. Stefanem:
Moja osobista i serdeczna więź z księdzem Stefanem Wincentym Frelichowskim zawiązała się na kilka lat przed jego beatyfikacją, gdy w połowie 1992 roku, już po utworzeniu diecezji toruńskiej, odwiedziła mnie pani Marcjanna, Siostra Błogosławionego, przekazując maszynopis pamiętnika swego brata, pisany w latach 1929–1939, w okresie szkolnym, seminaryjnym i na początku kapłańskiej służby. Kopia odbita przez kalkę sprawiała trudności w czytaniu, ale lektura wciągała mnie coraz bardziej, tak bardzo, że poświęciłem na nią bez mała całą noc.
Trudno nie ulec fascynacji wyznaniom młodego człowieka, zapisanym na własny użytek duchowy, z których wręcz bije całkowita szczerość, niekiedy aż do bólu. Zauroczył mnie ten zapis, bo odzwierciedla dzieje duszy kogoś, kto zmaga się ze sobą, wykuwa swój charakter, nosi w sercu wielkie ideały i potrafi dokonać w młodości opcji fundamentalnej, tego radykalnego wyboru drogi życiowej, któremu będzie wierny do końca, aż do męczeńskiej śmierci za drutami obozu koncentracyjnego Dachau, gdzie odda życie w służbie braciom, współwięźniom zarażonym tyfusem plamistym .
W badaniach nad życiem bł. ks. Stefana Wincentego Frelichowskiego kluczową rolę odgrywają przede wszystkim jego własne teksty. Myślimy tu o zachowanych i wydanych: Pamiętniku, Rozważaniach na tle Ewangelii, artykułach, konferencjach, szkicach kazań oraz listach obozowych. Drugą grupę tekstów stanowią liczne wspomnienia o jego osobie

of online secondary sources (websites of organizations supporting people with disabilities).
The study covers websites of ten major European organizations whose main activity
is to help people with disabilities. The research question is: ”What topics and issues dominate
in the web content created by organizations, and what is overlooked, unnoticed?”. The
analysis of websites makes it possible to identify five significant thematic categories that
dominate the content published by the selected organizations; these categories are - education,
legal issues, architectural barriers, financial issues, social activities. In addition, the
research makes it possible to diagnose the absence of several critical disability-related topics
in the published content. Essential issues omitted on the institutions’ websites include adulthood
and sexuality of people with disabilities, everyday life of people with disabilities and
their families, and individual perspectives of people with disabilities (presentation of topics
from the group’s point of view, lack of personal viewpoint). According to research result
there is also a hierarchy of disabilities in the content published on the websites (e. g., a small
number of articles devoted to intellectual disabilities or mental disorders)
The polish civil status registration system – the longue durée of the Prussian idea
Get PDFPreprint artykułu, który ukazał się w: Journal on European History of Law, Vol. 11, no. 2, 2020, pp. 76-80.In the article, the author writes about his conception of the longue durée of the civil status registration system in Poland. Its modern history began in 1874 while the Prussian administration established State and secular registry office at the territory of the West Prussia. The basic principles of the civil registration system are its secular state character, the corpus of information gathered about citizens and its connection with the lowest level of local administration. The most surprising and unknown is that they have not been changed by communist and even after 1990 in free Poland until today. The Prussian model of registration has survived two wars and several changes in the political system and statehood as well as the digital revolution. The article is based on legislation, historical and administrative literature and archival holdings.
