Get PDFW niezwykle bogatym życiu prymasa Polski Stefana Wyszyńskiego (1901-1981) spotykamy bardzo ważny okres, mianowicie jego uwięzienie w latach 1953-1956. Pierwszym miejscem przetrzymywania był położony niedaleko Grudziądza klasztor kapucynów w Rywałdzie. Uwięzienie prymasa może być analizowane z wielu perspektyw. W niniejszym artykule odwołano się do wątków maryjnych odnotowanych przez prymasa w prowadzonych przez niego „Zapiskach więziennych”. W tekście przywołano zapisy, które uczynił on w celi rywałdzkiego klasztoru. Dzięki nim poznajemy interesującą odsłonę kultu Matki Bożej w życiu prymasa. Podjęty temat wpisuje się w nurt badań nad sylwetką duchową prymasa Stefana Wyszyńskiego
Local horizons of governance. Social conditions for good governance in rural development in Poland
Get PDFThe last thirty years have radically changed the nature of local resource management in rural
communities throughout Poland (as well as in some other Central and Eastern European
countries). New metamorphosis, policy, and funding mechanisms related to Poland’s political
transformation and accession to the European Union have radically changed the character of
institutions and tools available in rural development. Local communities have evolved along with
improved education levels, decline in agricultural employment rates, and increased migrations to
cities and Western Europe. This article presents the social conditions for the good governance
processes in a selected region of Poland. Based on their extended quantitative and qualitative
research, the authors discuss a number of phenomena such as the low effectiveness of collective
actions, dense networks of informal relations, and the lack of trust in public service institutions
despite the deregulation of certain powers. The ethnographic study reveals that while their
overall picture may seem quite uniform, local rural communities in Poland tend to differ
depending on the economic structure, history, and cultural identity of their inhabitants. Finally,
the article analyses difficulties in the implementation of the good governance mechanisms within
the country’s local rural communities
Tuning the lability of a series of Ru(II) polypyridyl complexes: a comparison of experimental-kinetic and DFT-predicted reaction mechanisms
Get PDFThis report deals with a comparison of experimentally obtained kinetic and activation parameter data, and theoretical DFT computations, in terms of mechanistic information on the water exchange and water displacement reactions by thiourea for a series of complexes of the type [RuII(terpy)(N^N)(H2O)]2+, where terpy = 2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine and N^N represents ethylenediamine (en), 2-(aminomethyl)pyridine (ampy), 2,2′-bipyridine (bipy), 1,10-phenantroline (phen), and N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylethylenediamine (tmen). The complexes were all isolated in the form of [Ru(terpy)(N^N)Cl]X (X = Cl– or ClO4–) compounds and fully characterized in both the solid state and in solution. The DFT calculations revealed further mechanistic insight into the water exchange reactions as well as the water displacement reactions by thiourea. Both the experimental activation parameters and the DFT calculations suggest the operation of an associative interchange (Ia) mechanism for both reaction types studied.This project was supported financially by the National Science Center, Poland, Preludium, Grant No. 2019/33/N/ST4/00700

No full textAutorka referuje wyrok Sądu Apelacyjnego Łodzi, w którym Sąd dokonał wykładni „zaprzestania prowadzenia działalności rolniczej” jako jednej z przesłanek przyznania prawa do wcześniejszej emerytury rolniczej. Wyrok ten ma szczególne znaczenie ze względu na brak definicji legalnej tego pojęcia. W ustawie o ubezpieczeniu społecznym rolników pojęcie „zaprzestania prowadzenia działalności rolniczej” zostało wyjaśnione w art. 28 ust. 4 na potrzeby częściowego zawieszenia emerytury lub renty rolniczej, a nie przyznania prawa do tego świadczenia. Z tego względu, według Autorki, na aprobatę zasługuje pogląd Sądu Apelacyjnego, że przesłanka przyznania prawa do wcześniejszej emerytury jest spełniona, gdy rolnik faktycznie zaprzestał prowadzenia działalności rolniczej.The Author discusses the judgment of Court of Appeal in Łódź, in which the Court interpreted "cessation of an agricultural activity" as one of the conditions of granting the right to an earlier agricultural retirement. This judgment is of particular importance due to the lack of a legal definition of this concept. In the Act on farmers' social insurance, the concept of "cessation of an agricultural activity" is explained in art. 28 section 4 for the purpose of partial suspension of an agricultural pension or disability pension, but not the right to this benefit.
For this reason, according to the Author, the opinion of the Court of Appeal that the condition of granting the right to an early retirement is fulfilled when a farmer indeed ceased to conduct agricultural activity, deserves to be approved

Pytaniem badawczym, postawionym w niniejszym raporcie z badań, było: jakie aktywności codzienne podejmują bezdomni mężczyźni? Gromadzenie danych odbywało się telefonicznie w maju 2020
roku w czasie pandemii Covid-19 w Polsce. Dane analizowano techniką kodowania i kategoryzacji [Gibbs 2011]. Wyniki badań pozwoliły na ustalenie kategorii głównej – aktywności codziennych oraz 3 podkategorii: struktury aktywności codziennych, aktywności sprawiające przyjemności oraz aktywności związane z obowiązkami w schronisku. Oprócz tego, wyniki badań wskazały również pewna nieproporcjonalność czasu aktywności codziennych (zajęć, prac) w stosunku do czasu wolnego, który jest przyczyną odczuwanej monotonii, przez bezdomnych mężczyzn
Solar Radiation in the Arctic during the Early Twentieth-Century Warming (1921–50): Presenting a Compilation of Newly Available Data
Get PDFThe early twentieth-century warming (ETCW), defined as occurring within the period 1921–50, saw a clear increase in actinometric observations in the Arctic. Nevertheless, information on radiation balance and its components at that time is still very limited in availability, and therefore large discrepancies exist among estimates of total solar irradiance forcing. To eliminate these uncertainties, all available solar radiation data for the Arctic need to be collected and processed. Better knowledge about incoming solar radiation (direct, diffuse, and global) should allow for more reliable estimation of the magnitude of total solar irradiance forcing, which can help, in turn, to more precisely and correctly explain the reasons for the ETCW in the Arctic. The paper summarizes our research into the availability of solar radiation data for the Arctic. An important part of this work is its detailed inventory of data series (including metadata) for the period before the mid-twentieth century. Based on the most reliable data series, general solar conditions in the Arctic during the ETCW are described. The character of solar radiation changes between the ETCW and present times, in particular after 2000, is also analyzed. Average annual global solar radiation in the Russian Arctic during the ETCW was slightly greater than in the period 1964–90 (by about 1–2 W·m−2) and was markedly greater than in the period 2001–19 (by about 16 W·m−2). Our results also reveal that in the period 1920–2019 three phases of solar radiation changes can be distinguished: a brightening phase (1921–50), a stabilization phase (1951–93), and a dimming phase (after 2000).The study was carried out as a part of the scientific project titled ‘‘Causes of the early 20th century Arctic warming,’’ funded by the National Science Centre, Poland (Grant 2015/19/B/ST10/02933), and the Research University—Initiative of Excellence: The Emerging Field ‘‘Global Environmental Changes,’’ Climate Change Research Unit at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń

obejmuje łącznie cztery języki (w tym dwa pośredniczące – francuski i angielski). W ramach
przekładów w tych językach dochodzi do pewnych opuszczeń, które wpływają na przekaz
treści w tekstach docelowych. W artykule prezentuje się i analizuje przykłady opuszczeń,
do których dochodzi w transmisji tekstu (polski oryginał – przekład francuski – przekład angielski – obie wersje nowogreckie), oraz dokonuje ich klasyfikacji ze względu na jego potencjalny
cel. Całość zostaje omówiona w szerszym kontekście miejsca, które zajmuje w przekładzie
literackim strategia opuszczenia, stanowiska Stanisława Lema dotyczącego przekładów jego
dzieł i tłumaczeniu w ogóle oraz recepcji science-fiction i jego miejsca na greckim rynku
wydawniczym.The transmission process of Stanisław Lem’s Solaris from Polish original work to
both Modern Greek translations involves four languages (including two intermediate ones –
French and English). Several omissions affecting the final content quite clearly in target texts
are noticed during this process (Polish source text – French translation – English translation
– two target Greek texts). In this paper examples of such omissions are presented, analysed
and classified regarding its potential purpose. The broader context of meaning and practical
usage of omission in literary translation, Lem’s attitude regarding translations of his work
and translation itself and the reception of the science-fiction in the Greek publishing market
are highlighted

Get PDFThe aim of the paper is defined in the two title questions related to Roman Ingarden's research: (1) What constitutes the specificity and uniqueness of human cognitive system? (2) Is Roman Ingarden's answer defensible in the light of today's naturalistic tendencies? In response to the first question, the multidimensional structure of human being is indicated, thanks to which man has access to the sphere of values. In the axiological and ontological aspect the power of man to create new realities is emphasized. In the epistemological and ontological aspect three dimensions of this structure are shown, which are correlated, complex and relatively isolated systems of body, soul and consciousness, Next, in response to the second question, Ingarden's nonereductive approach is discussed against the background of information processes and the issue of self-knowledge. However, his strong ontological assumptions are shown as well. In conclusion, the author emphasizes that Ingarden's main research strategy remains consistently grounded in ontology (and in this sense it is anti-naturalistic), but in some aspects it is compatible with today's naturaistic approaches favored in neurocognitive studies

Celem tego artykułu jest analiza doświadczeń ojców, którzy zdecydowali się na wzięcie co najmniej dwóch miesięcy urlopu rodzicielskiego, i ich partnerek. Jest to grupa osób, które przekraczają dominujące normy kulturowe dotyczące płci i opieki. Interesuje mnie poznanie ich motywacji oraz doświadczeń. analiza pokazuje, jak wyglądają: ich stosunek do pracy zawodowej, relacje z dziećmi, a także jakie są reakcje najbliższego otoczenia na podjęcie przez nich decyzji o urlopie. Kontekst dla ich doświadczeń stanowią doświadczenia rodziców, którzy nie dzielili się urlopem. analiza opiera się na 53 wywiadach pogłębionych przeprowadzonych z polskimi rodzicami o różnej sytuacji społeczno-ekonomicznej. wywiady zostały przeprowadzone w 2017 roku i dotyczyły łączenia rodzicielstwa z pracą zawodową. Część pytań koncentrowała się wokół instrumentów polityki rodzinnej, w tym urlopów rodzicielskich. w próbie znalazło się 12 rodziców, którzy dzielili się urlopem.Narodowe Centrum Nauki (grant Sonata 10 nr UMO-2015/19/D/HS6/02338
