NORTH-EASTERN BORDERLAND VARIETY OF POLISH IN THE ALYTUS TEFSIR
Varied in terms of time and space and based, to a considerable extent, on the phonetic rule, the literature of the Tatars of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania documents the process of shaping the north-eastern borderland variety of Polish on the Belarusian substrate. An analysis of the language of the Tatar tefsir demonstrated both the features described in expert literature, and new facts from the history of the Polish and Belarusian languages (specifically at the level of lexis, semantics, and grammar), concerning the evolution of Belarusian, Polish, and the north-eastern borderland variety of Polish. Moreover, the analysis identified new lexical (also etymological), semantic, derivational, formal (e.g. Polish-Belarusian hybrids), phraseological, and syntactical facts essential in the history of the Polish and Belarusian languages, as well as to research into Polish-Belarusian relations
BELARUSIAN FEATURES IN THE ALYTUS TEFSIR
The Alytus Tefsir provides a rich documentation of the features of various language layers, typical of Belarusian and Ukrainian dialects, as well as the Russian language. Moreover, an eastern Slavic influence can be discerned therein, with regard to literary language. However, most recorded features refer to Belarusian, with a majority (25) coming from south-western Belarus. The monument also comprises linguistic elements, which were confirmed in Belarusian philological studies, functioning in the language until the 16th century, with some being used in the 17th and 18th centuries, or even later

Between Contestation and Conformism: Cluster Analysis of the Poles’ Attitudes During the Second Wave of the COVID-19 Pandemic
The aim of the article is to identify the factors that contribute to the differentiation of attitudes towards the coronavirus pandemic in three areas: 1) course of the pandemic; 2) evaluation of the actions of various actors in the fight against the pandemic; and 3) assessment of the restrictions introduced during the pandemic. The analysis is based on a survey conducted among the Polish population. A hierarchical cluster analysis procedure was conducted on the 15 variables using Ward’s method. We distinguished five groups: 1) dissenters, 2) government’s
critics, 3) conformists, 4) critical conformists and 5) bystanders. Based on the cluster analysis we argue that: various models of social compliance with restrictions and of crisis management can be identified during pandemic, pandemic followed different trajectories for different groups and was differently experienced, the credibility of the statistics is an important element in shaping attitudes towards the pandemic.Nicolaus Copernicus University Research Excellence Initiative Grant
Genderizing consequences of family policies in Poland in 2010s: a sociological perspective
The aim of this paper is to analyze four reforms introduced in the Polish family system in the 2010s. The reforms were introduced as an answer to a problem of very low fertility rates, as well as instruments helping women in achieving their work- life balance. The reforms are analyzed here in terms of their (de)genderization effects on Polish mothers and fathers. The use of a genderization-degenderization axis shows that the gendered division of domestic and care work is not challenged by the reforms, but it is rather reinforced by them. It is also doubtful if the reforms will manage to reverse current demographic trends.Narodowe Centrum Nauki, grant Sonata 10 UMO- 2015/19/D/HS6/0233
Joint Bodies and the Regularization of Strategic Interaction: A Comparison of the European Union's Strategic Partnerships with Japan and India
In recent years, the European Union’s strategic partnerships have undergone a new wave of institutionalization.
Relations with both India and Japan are a case in point: after a decade or more of
under-institutionalized and situational interaction generally framed by political declarations, a
more contractual model of bilateral relations has emerged and with it the proliferation of joint bodies.
Such joint bodies and the overall regularization of bilateral contacts play an important but
largely overlooked role in sustaining the strategic partnership. This article assesses the rationale
and performance of joint institutional frameworks devised for the EU–Japan and EU–India strategic
partnerships. Informed by an original conceptual approach, the article assesses the regularization
and intensification of strategic interaction in these two partnerships

Aseksualność w powieściach „Breasts and Eggs” („Natsu Monogatari”) Mieko Kawakami i „Dziewczyna z konbini” („Konbini ningen”) Sayaki Muraty
Wiedza zawarta w podrozdziale pierwszym i drugim umożliwiają przeprowadzenie interpretacji utworów literackich. W podrozdziale trzecim zawarto analizę powieści „Breasts and Eggs” Mieko Kawakami oraz „Dziewczyna z konbini” Sayaki Muraty. Wykorzystano w niej technikę aseksualnego odczytywania tekstu (ang. asexual reading), pochodną queer readingu, czyli analizę i interpretację aseksualnych podtekstów dzieła.
Asexuality is a sexual orientation describing people who do not experience sexual attraction. Despite growing acceptance and awareness about LGBT+ people, social awareness about asexuality remains low. Asexual people are unrepresented group in media, and asexual characters in literature intended for adult readers remain a rarity. However, this does not mean that it is impossible to find characters that could be interpreted as asexual.
The article consists of four parts: introduction, subchapter dedicated to key knowledge about asexuality, subchapter dedicated to interpretation of the two novels, and summary. The first and second subchapters are dedicated to an overview of asexuality and related issues in order to make the interpretation of the texts possible. The third subchapter is dedicated to the analysis of the novels „Breasts and Eggs” by Mieko Kawakami and „Convenience Store Woman” by Sayaka Murata. This part of the article uses the asexual reading technique, which stems from the practice of queer reading. Asexual reading uses hidden asexual subtexts in the analysis and interpretation of the work. The analysis proves that the main characters of both novels have characteristics in accordance with asexuality. Both texts also touch on problems with which asexuals deal on everyday basis, which might help the readers to understand asexual people
