Operation and maintenance of sewer collection system
Tema ovog diplomskog rada su sustavi odvodnje i njihovo održavanje. Održavanje i najčešći problemi na sustavu odvodnje bit će opisani na temelju dostupne literature, te na konkretnom primjeru, na sustavu odvodnje naselja Čepin. Glavni čimbenici o kojima ovisi dugotrajnost sustava odvodnje su godina izgradnje, područje i način na koji je izveden sustav odvodnje, profili cijevi, materijal cijevi, nagib i duljina. U naselju Čepin 2016. godine je dovršen razdjelni sustav odvodnje i predstavlja jedan od prvih i najskupljih projekata koje je sufinancirala Europska unija. Sustav je izveden u šest faza i ima 10 crpnih stanica. Ukupna duljina sustava odvodnje je 66.888 metara, a duljina sustava odvodnje, koji je analiziran u ovom radu (II. faza) je 4.794,68 metara i ima 34 dionice. Cijevi su polipropilenske, unutarnjeg promjera DN 300, odnosno DN 250. Načini održavanja sustava odvodnje u Čepinu su redovito održavanje, investicijsko održavanje i održavanje u izvanrednim uvjetima. Problemi koji su uočeni na sustavu odvodnje naselja Čepin su posljedica loše izvedbe, dok pojava pukotina i lomova cijevi nije još uočena. U radu su analizirana oštećenja na sustavu odvodnje, a koja su uočena i dokumentirana snimanjem dionica CCTV kamerom 2016. godine. Uočeni problemi su potkrijepljeni slikama oštećenja.The theme of this graduation thesis are sewage system and their maintenance. Maintenance and the most common problems with the sewage system will be described bazen on the available literature, and on a specific example, on the Čepin settlement sewage system. The main variables on which the longevity of the sewage system depends are the year of construction, the area and the way the sewage system was constructed, pipe profiles, pipe material, slope and length. In the settlement of Čepin, the sewage system was completed in 2016 and it is one of the first and most expensive projects co-financed by the European Union. Sewage was built in six stages and has 10 sewage pumps. The total length of the sewage system is 66.888 meters, and the length of the sewage system, which is analyzed in this thesis (ll. phase) is 4.794,68 meters and has 34 shares. The pipes are polypropylene, with an internal diametar od DN 300 od DN 250. Ways of maintaining the sewage system in Čepin are regular maintenance, investment maintenance and maintenance in extraordinary conditions. Problems occurring in the sewage system are the result of bad performance, while the appearance of cracks and pipe breaks has not yet been observed. Damages to the sewage system were analyzed in this thesis, and which are the result of filming the shares with a CCTV camera. The observed problems are supported by pictures of the damage
Importance of Water Supply System for Public Health
It is well known that polluted water is dangerous to health. Pollution of fresh water ecosystems is often the cause of diseases, and therefore a multidisciplinary approach involving hydrology, engineering, urban planning and public health is necessary for a good public health outcome. It has been recognized that a water supply system is connected with the improvement of public health of the population. Can diseases such as diarrhea in isolated rural areas or malaria in Africa be prevented through good water supply management? There is an opinion that water supply management is also public health management and that it is a very good tool in reducing and controlling diseases and will definitely play a big role in the future. Protected drinking water is essential for public health. The most common microorganisms associated with waterborne diseases are: Campylobacter, Legionella, Cryptosporidium, Norovirus, E. coli and Giardia. Legionella has been proven to be one of the most important causes of diseases associated with the water supply systems. Investing in water infrastructure is therefore investing in the safety of drinking water, which is the basis of public health, and its pollution can even lead to a potential epidemic caused by various microorganisms. The paper will present the most common diseases that can potentially be transmitted through the public water supply system, as well as the differences in the infrastructure in different parts of the world, which play a major role in public health of the population. The importance of a good water supply system and the environment in preventing diseases that are potentially spread by contaminated drinking water will be shown. Also, possible dangers of contamination of drinking water that the population uses on a daily basis will be pointed out
The Criteria for Evaluation of Urban and Architectural Development Opportunities of Osijek Abandonedand Repurposed Industrial Areas
In today’s Osijek there are large, abandoned and devastated industrial areas from the period 1856-1945. This research was motivated by the lack of clear, systematically organized evaluation criteria for these areas, defined from interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary points of view. The research first focuses on the systematization and classification of industrial and existing former industrial areas of Osijek from the period 1856-1945. The second focus is put on defining the criteria for the evaluation of urban architectural development possibilities of abandoned and repurposed industrial areas (NiPIP). The researched areas are complex because over time they have changed to a significant extent, following the progress of technology. These areas always retain at least a part of their historical industrial identity, which is why it is not possible to unambiguously define it as an industrial heritage area, brownfield area, historical industrial area, industrial area, former industrial area, abandoned industrial area, repurposed industrial area, abandoned industrial area. Today’s conceptual definition of area contains parts and/or combinations of all previously mentioned concepts. Nano-Clay Platelet Integration for Enhanced Bending Performance of Concrete Beams Resting on Elastic Foundation: An Analytical Investigation
Acknowledging the growing impact of nanotechnologies across various fields, this engaging research paper focuses on harnessing the potential of nano-sized materials as enhancers for concretes. The paper emphasizes the strategic integration of these entities to comprehensively improve the strength and performance of concrete matrixes. To achieve this, an analytical study is conducted to investigate the static behavior of concrete beams infused with different types of clay nano-platelets (NC’s), employing quasi-3D beam theory. The study leverages the effective Eshelby’s homogenization model to determine the equivalent elastic characteristics of the nanocomposite. The intricate interactions of the soil medium are captured through the use of aWinkler–Pasternak elastic foundation. By employing virtual work principles, the study derives equations of motion and proposes analytical solutions based on Navier’s theory to unravel the equilibrium equations of simply supported concrete beams. The results shed light on influential factors, such as the clay nanoplatelet type, volume percentage, geometric parameters, and soil medium, providing insights into the static behavior of the beams. Moreover, this research presents previously unreported referential results, highlighting the potential of clay nano-platelets as reinforcements for enhancing structural mechanical resistance
Effects of geosynthetics ( geogrids) on soil stabilization
U ovom radu će se obraditi stabilizacijski učinak geomreža u slojevitom tlu prilikom gradnje prometnica. U prvom djelu rada objasnit će se što su to geosintetici, njihova proizvodnja, njihov sastav, koja sui m svojstva te njihova uporaba u građevinarstvu. Obradit će se glavni mehanizmi djelovanja geosintetika uslijed kojih nastupaju ojačanja tla, zbog kojih danas vidimo široku primjenu geosintetika u građevinarstvu. Rad će se posebno posvetiti značaju geomreža kao podgrupi geosintetika. Naglasak ovog rada će biti na ispitivanju učinkovitosti geomreže na stupanj zbijenosti odnosno na modul stišljivosti. Ispitivanja su se provodila u labaratorijskim uvjetima pomoću statičke kružne ploče. Na kraju rada će se dati zaključak o važnosti i utjecaju geosintetika/geomreža u građevinarstvu
Preparation of part of the documentation for concluding a construction contract
U diplomskom radu prikazan je postupak izrade dijela dokumentacije za izradu ponude za sklapanje Ugovora o građenju zgrade na temelju dokumentacije o nabavi radova u otvorenom postupku javne nabave. Teoretski dio rada opisuje važeće zakone - Zakon o gradnji, Zakon o javnoj nabavi i Zakon o obveznim odnosima te na temelju njih opisuje postupak izrade dijela dokumentacije za konkretni primjer. U praktičnom dijelu rada prikazan je postupak određivanja jediničnih cijena radova i ukupne cijene. Detaljno je opisan postupak analize cijena radova i izrada troškovnika građevinskih radova kako bi ponuda bila valjana za nadmetanje.This thesis presents the process of creating a part of the documentation for making a bid for the construction contract based on the procurement documentation in the open procedure of public procurement. The theoretical part of the thesis describes relevant laws such as the Building Act, the Public Procurement Act, and the Obligations Act. Based on them, it describes creating a part of the documentation for a specific example. The practical part of the thesis presents the process of determining unit prices of work and the total cost. The detailed operation of analyzing the merits of work and creating a cost estimate for construction work is described to ensure the validity of the bid for the competition
Application of ground penetrating radar in testing
U ovom diplomskom radu se analizira upotreba georadara u svrhu pravovremenog i učinkovitog ispitivanja konstrukcija i materijala nerazornim metodama. Cilj je pružiti smjernice za prikupljanje, obradu i vizualizaciju podataka dobivenih georadarskim ispitivanjem materijala, konstrukcija, tla i podzemnih objekata. Predstavljene su teorijske osnove, principi rada i metode mjerenja georadarom, informacije o interpretaciji obrađenih podataka, te moguće primjene georadara. Također su predstavljene metode tumačenja rezultata dobivenih upotrebom georadara kako bi se lakše shvatio smisao ove metode ispitivanja. Praktični dio istraživanja obavljen je na Građevinskom i arhitektonskom fakultetu u Osijeku. Izrađeni su modeli na kojima su analizirani objekti čije su lokacije određene i potvrđene georadarskim snimanjem. Nakon ispitivanja, prikazani su rezultati dobiveni snimanjem različitim antenama te je napravljena njihova usporedba.This thesis analyzes the use of ground-penetrating radar (GPR) for timely and efficient non-destructive testing of structures and materials. The aim is to provide guidelines for collecting, processing, and visualizing data obtained by ground-penetrating radar testing of materials, structures, soil, and underground objects. The theoretical foundations, principles of operation, and measurement methods of ground-penetrating radar are presented, as well as information on interpreting processed data and possible applications of ground-penetrating radar. Methods for interpreting results obtained using ground-penetrating radar are also presented to aid in understanding the meaning of this testing method. The practical part of the research was conducted at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Osijek. Models were created and objects whose locations were determined and confirmed by ground-penetrating radar were analyzed. After testing, the results obtained by using different antennas were presented and compared
Architecture and urban design of Gacka business zone
Rad predstavlja projekt poslovne zgrade u idejnom urbanističkom rješenju Poslovne zone Gacka, na križanju Trpimirove i Gacke ulice na jugu Osijeka. Projektirana zgrada je lamela čija se duža pročelja okreću se planiranoj stambenoj namjeni i javnom trgu unutar Zone. Dvije komunikacijske jezgre pružaju jednak odnos i uvlačenje korisnika s obje strane, a unutrašnji prostor gradira se od najvećeg i zajedničkog na jugu do privatnih ureda na sjeveru. Jezgre ujedno služe kao zona diferencijacije različitih karaktera radnih prostora.This paper presents the project of a business building in the proposed urban solution of Gacka business zone, located on the intersection of Trpimirova and Gacka Street, in the south part of Osijek. The designed building is longitudinally shaped with its fronts facing the planned residential area and the public square. Two communication cores offer the equal treatment to users from both sides. Internal space is formed by gradation from mutual open-space offices in the south to private offices in the northern end of the building. The cores create differentiation zones that separate working spaces of contrast characteristics
Arhitectual - Urban Design of Gacka Business Zone
Projektni zadatak je urbanističko – arhitektonsko rješenje poslovne zone „Gacka“. Lokacija je na ulazu u grad pored južne obilaznice i okružena je zgradama masivnih proporcija, što je utjecalo na organsko urbanističko rješenje isprepleteno pješačkim putevima i „divljom prirodom“. Arhitektonsko rješenje se temelji na provođenju pješačkim puteva kroz zgradu i razbijanju organskih formi u pravilnije.The topic of the final project is planing and designing the bussiness zone „gacka“. The location is on the very enterance to the city, next to the southern detour road, and is surrounded by buildings of massive proportions, which influenced the organic forms in the urbanistic masterplan intertwined with pedestrian paths and „wild nature“. Architectural design of the building is based on implementation of said paths through the building and breaking the organic forms into more regular ones
Architecture and Urban Design of Retfala South Business Zone
Poslovna zona smještena na rubu Retfale preko puta trgovačkog centra Portanova. Poslovna zgrada omeđena južnom prometnicom i križanjem pješačkih pravaca. Zgradu karakteriziraju tri čvrsta , statična postamenta, koji preuzimaju servisne sadržaje i reprezentativne prostore. Na postamente se vežu lamele sa uredima otvorenog i zatvorenog tipa. Takvim slaganjem lamela i ispreplitanjem prostora zgrada odgovara na zahtijev mikroizgradnje. Ispreplitanjem lamela stvaraju se različiti otvoreni, zatvoreni te galerijski prostori i unosi dinamika u prostor.The buisness zone is located on the edge of Retfala, across the shopping center Portanova. The business building is surrounded by the southern road and an intersection of pedestrian routes. The building is characterized by three strong, static pedestals, which take over service facilities and representative spaces. Lamella shapes with both open and closed type offices are connected to the pedestals. By stacking the lamella shapes and interweaving the space, the building responds to the requirement of microconstruction. By intertwining the lamella shapes, different open, closed and galler spaces are created and dynamism is introduced into the space
