Primjena digitalnog alata Canva u marketinškoj komunikaciji visokoškolske knjižnice
U današnjem digitalnom dobu, knjižnice se moraju neprestano prilagođavati i inovirati kako bi zadržale svoju relevantnost. Kombinirajući tradicionalne i digitalne marketinške pristupe, knjižnice oblikuju svoje djelovanje prema potrebama korisnika. Marketinški pristupi obuhvaćaju širok spektar strategija za promociju knjižničnih resursa, usluga i aktivnosti. Fokus je na promociji, povećanju vidljivosti te izgradnji brenda koji knjižnicu čini važnom za akademsku zajednicu. Posebno važan u tom kontekstu jest vizualni identitet visokoškolske knjižnice koji ključno utječe na prepoznatljivost među korisnicima. Pažljivo osmišljen identitet gradi brend knjižnice, privlači korisnike te omogućuje učinkovitu promociju usluga i resursa. Alati poput Canve olakšavaju izradu atraktivnih promotivnih materijala koji odražavaju vizualni identitet knjižnice, čime se dodatno pojačava njezina vidljivost. U radu je prikazan primjer redizajna promotivnih materijala knjižnice Građevinskog i arhitektonskog fakulteta Osijek, koji je rezultirao poboljšanom vidljivošću i boljom prezentacijom njezinih aktivnosti. Kroz raznovrsne marketinške aktivnosti, knjižnice mogu izgraditi prepoznatljiv vizualni identitet te razviti povjerenje korisnika, što značajno pridonosi njihovoj ukupnoj učinkovitosti i uspjehu u dinamičnom okruženju suvremenog digitalnog doba
Construction and quality control of retaining structures made of gabions and reinforced soil
U radu su opisane dvije vrste potpornih zidova: potporni zid od gabiona i armiranog tla. Opisani su svi bitni detalji kod izvođenja radova, praćenja kontrole kvalitete, analiza proračuna te dimenzioniranje potpornog zida od gabiona i armiranog tla. Na temelju dobivenih podataka iz analize proračuna i dimenzioniranja potpornih zidova izrađeni su troškovnici za izvođenje građevinskih radova za dva različita potporna zida i to za tri varijante. Varijanta A, zid duljine 15,00 m, varijanta B, zid duljine 70,00 m i varijanta C, zid duljine 180,00 m. Analizom troškovnika za svaki potporni zid opisane su prednosti i mane, kako za naručitelja radova tako i za izvođače radova. Jasno su definirane razlike cijene za sve tri varijante pojedinog zida. U radu je predstavljena razlika između izvođenja potpornog zida od gabiona i potpornog zida od armiranog tla.The paper describes two types of retaining walls: retaining walls made of gabions and reinforced soil. All important details in the execution of works, quality control monitoring, budget analysis, and dimensioning of gabion retaining walls and reinforced soil are described. Based on the data obtained from the analysis of the budget and dimensioning of the retaining walls, cost sheets were created for the execution of construction works for two different retaining walls and three variants: Variation A, a wall with a length of 15.00 m; Variation B, a wall with a length of 70.00 m; and Variation C, a wall with a length of 180.00 m. The analysis of the cost sheet for each retaining wall describes the advantages and disadvantages, both for the client and the contractors. The price differences for all three variants of individual walls are clearly defined. The paper also presents the difference between the construction of a gabion retaining wall and a reinforced soil retaining wall
Asphalt - concrete pavement repair technology
Tehnologija sanacije asfaltbetonskog kolničkog zastora predstavlja važan dio održavanja, jačanja i poboljšavanja cestovne infrastrukture, koja je od iznimnog značaja za funkcioniranje i razvitak društva. Razvitkom cestovne infrastrukture dolazi i do razvitka gospodarstva, ekonomije, pa i turizma, stoga možemo reći da je dobra cestovna infrastruktura preduvjet za kompletni razvoj određenog područja. Asfaltbetonski kolnički zastor je završni dio kolničke konstrukcije, površina koja služi za kretanje vozila te nosivi slojevi ispod nje. Često se i naziva gornjim ustrojem kolničke konstrukcije. Njegova je svrha omogućiti udobnu i sigurnu vožnju, te ujedno i zaštititi donje dijelove kolničke konstrukcije od djelovanja prometa i vremenskih neprilika. Kolnički zastor je ujedno i jedan od najosjetljivijih dijelova ceste ili prometnice, jer je direktno pod utjecajem različitih vremenskih prilika i neprekidnog prometa različitog intenziteta. Posljedica toga često zna biti oštećenje kolničkog zastora u vidu raznoraznih deformacija, pukotina, udarnih rupa i dr., što opet dovodi do povećanih troškova održavanja, smanjene udobnosti i sigurnosti u cestovnom prometu, te uvelike povećava rizik od prometnih nesreća. U ovom diplomskom radu prezentirane su tehnologije sanacije asfaltbetonskog kolničkog zastora, različitim metodama sanacije, od klasičnih metoda sanacije do specijalnih tehnika koje uključuju reciklažu i korištenje naprednih veziva.The repair technology of asphalt-concrete pavement is an important part of the maintenance, strengthening, and improvement of road infrastructure, which is of exceptional importance for the functioning and development of society. The development of road infrastructure leads to the development of the economy and even tourism, so we can say that good road infrastructure is a prerequisite for the complete development of a certain area. Asphalt concrete pavement is the final part of the pavement structure, the surface on which vehicles move, and the bearing layer below it. It is often called the upper structure of the pavement. Its purpose is to enable comfortable and safe driving while protecting the lower parts of the pavement structure from traffic and weather conditions. The pavement is also one of the most sensitive parts of the road or thoroughfare because it is directly influenced by different weather conditions and continuous traffic of varying intensity. The consequence of this is often damage to the road surface in the form of various deformations, cracks, potholes, etc., which in turn leads to increased maintenance costs, reduced comfort and safety in road traffic, and a greatly increased risk of traffic accidents. In this thesis, I will address the technology of repairing asphalt-concrete pavement, exploring different methods of repair, from classic techniques to special techniques that include recycling and the use of advanced binders
Experimental and numerical investigation on the behaviour of square concrete-filled cold-formed double-skin steel stiffened tubular short columns
This paper presents an investigation into a new cold-formed concrete-filled double-skin steel stiffened tubular (CFDSST) column. It consists of concrete filled between two concentrically-located square hollow steel tubes where the outer steel tube is made with four lipped angles of cold-formed plates and lips which can be regarded as longitudinal stiffeners. This new composite column has fewer welds compared to traditional concrete-filled double-skin steel tubular columns with stiffeners. To investigate the axial compression mechanical properties of the column, fifteen short columns were designed and fabricated, including thirteen CFDSST short columns and two concrete-filled stiffened steel tubular (CFSST) columns, for comparison. The specimens were examined under axial compression, and a finite element (FE) model was then developed and validated using the test results. Next, a parametric analysis was carried out to explore the behaviour of the CFDSST columns with different properties. The results show that the ultimate strength of CFDSST columns is significantly affected by the strength of concrete. Finally, different international design methods were assessed to evaluate their applicability and accuracy for these members. In light of the results, a new design formula was proposed for CFDSST columns which accounts for the lateral confining pressure as well as the size effect
Eco Trends in Civil Engineering
Civil engineering is a human activity, a scientific and technical discipline that includes the design, organization and execution of all civil engineering and construction works. Some of the common construction products are roads, bridges, railways, tunnels, ports, drainage and water supply systems, dams, residential and public buildings, sports halls, etc. The construction of new buildings reduces the amount of green or arable land needed by the population. Also, the demolition of existing buildings creates waste that needs to be properly disposed. The problem of waste disposal is very pronounced nowadays, so it is necessary to look for new ways of using existing as well as newly created waste. One of the available ways of using waste is its incorporation into materials used in the construction of buildings. The above can be observed through the concept of circular economy, which is the opposite of linear economy. Circular economy says that products should be kept as long as possible in their life cycle, i.e. that no waste is created. Such resources should be reused in other products. The paper will present some of the materials that can be reused in construction, as well as application of certain products that improve certain properties of construction products. Some examples are reuse of glass fiber reinforced plastic in concrete, utilizing biosilica to enhance the compressive strength of cement mortar, boosting concrete strength with sewage sludge fly ash, adding rubber into the concrete mix and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) waste in concrete mixture. Eco trends must be applied in all phases: from design to construction and to removal of various objects. Eco trends in civil engineering are aimed at protecting the environment by reducing the amount of unusable waste material and saving on construction material prices
Comprehensive review and comparative analysis of building condition assessment models
Building Condition Assessment (BCA) is an important part of Facility Management (FM) since it involves strategic planning and decision-making to optimize the performance, longevity, and value of facilities. This paper aims to provide a review and a comparison of published research in the field of BCA, especially in the context of the developed models for this purpose. The methodology for reviewing and comparing the selected models involved a systematic approach to identifying, filtering, and extracting relevant studies from recently published scientific papers and conference papers indexed in reputable databases such as Web of Science and Scopus. The selected models were systematically reviewed and analysed to assess the types of buildings for which the models were developed, the purpose of their development, methods of data collection, software or tools used for data analysis, model strengths weaknessess and limitations. The findings from the data analysis were synthesized to identify patterns, trends, and insights across these selected models
Architectural Features and Soil Properties of Traditional Rammed Earth Houses: Eastern Croatia Case Study
Rammed earth buildings constitute a large part of the housing stock in rural areas. Although these houses are recognized as a cultural heritage, detailed analyses of their architectural features, geometric parameters crucial for structural stability, and soil properties used for their construction have not yet been carried out in Croatia. The aim of this study is to collect basic data on the architectural features and material properties of rammed earth walls through field research in Croatia. These data are crucial for both numerical and experimental studies to improve the understanding of the structural behavior of rammed earth houses. Data were obtained through field research and a detailed survey of 22 houses. The houses were analyzed, samples of the rammed earth walls were collected, and their properties were tested in the laboratory. This study contributes to a better understanding of regional building practices and provides data that will enable us to identify the causes of damage in future studies and to select rehabilitation measures to preserve the authentic symbols of cultural heritage
The Issue of Estimating the Maintenance and Operation Costs of Buildings: A Case Study of a School
The operations and maintenance phase is typically the longest phase within the building life cycle. Proper and consistent building maintenance is imperative for several reasons, including extending the life of buildings, improving occupants’ comfort and safety, and ultimately saving on long-term costs. Budgets for maintenance should be foreseen. The costs of statutory periodic inspections, the costs of replacing worn materials and elements, the costs of periodic works and repairs, the costs of reactive maintenance and the costs of operation will be shown for the analyzed building—a school. This paper outlines the development of a 15-year maintenance plan and program for the building, covering the period from 2024 to 2038. The plan incorporates a discount rate of 3.64% and accounts for inflation when calculating costs. The present value of the costs of maintenance and operation of the building for 15 years is EUR 1,978,292.20 and the largest share of these costs is the operation cost of the building with EUR 1,599,002.18 (80.83%). A sensitivity analysis was conducted by varying the discount rate and analysis period, resulting in recalculated present values for maintenance costs. The analysis reveals a correlation of 26.73% between the present value of maintenance and operation costs over a 15-year period and the associated capital costs
Study on Effectiveness of Regional Risk Prioritisation in Reinforced Concrete Structures after Earthquakes
Depending on the characteristics of the existing buildings, earthquakes can cause damage at different levels and have a significant impact on the environment. The structural damages after the earthquakes have shown the importance of analysing both the existing and the damaged buildings. In this study, the Turkish rapid seismic assessment method, which was used for the existing building stock before a possible earthquake, was applied to the damaged reinforced concrete (RC) buildings after the 6 February earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş (Türkiye). The building data were used as a result of field observations in the provinces of Adıyaman, Hatay, and Kahramanmaraş, where the greatest destruction was caused by these earthquakes. Five RC buildings from each province were considered. The rapid assessment method was applied to a total of 15 buildings with different levels of damage. For this purpose, pre-earthquake images of the buildings were obtained, and an earthquake performance score was obtained for each building, taking into account the sustained damage during the earthquake. The primary aim of this study is to show the effects of structural irregularities on earthquake behaviour and to demonstrate the applicability of the rapid assessment methods used before the earthquake. The results obtained clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of rapid evaluation methods for existing building stock. Structural analyses were also carried out in this study to address the fact that the height of the ground storey is higher than the other storeys, which is one of the factors leading to a soft storey
Multi-criteria analysis model for making decisions in sewage system management
U okviru ovog diplomskog rada primijenjena je AHP metoda na složeni kanalizacijski sustav grada Županje koji se sastoji od vakuumske i gravitacijske kanalizacije. AHP metoda je metoda analitičkog hijerarhijskog postupka koja omogućava donošenje odluka na temelju zadanih kriterija i njihovim rangiranjem i usporedbom pruža mogućnost lakšeg odabira najpovoljnijeg rezultata. Radom je prikazana problematika višekriterijskog odlučivanja u procesu odabira, uvid u metode te primjena na konkretnom primjeru. Metodom koja dopušta hijerarhijsku strukturu problema, obuhvaćena je analiza kanalizacijskog sustava grada Županje kroz društvene, ekonomske i ekološke čimbenike. Cilj istraživanja je odrediti odgovarajući izbor vrste kanalizacijskog sustava za promatrano područje na osnovu navedenih kriterija, pokazati benefite svakog od njih te obrazložiti odabrano. Za vrednovanje i usporedbu zadanih čimbenika te provedbu praktičnog dijela zadatka korišten je Microsoft Excel.Within this thesis, the AHP method was applied to the complex sewage system of the city of Županja, which consists of vacuum and gravity sewage. The AHP method is a method of analytical hierarchical procedure that allows decision-making based on the given criteria and by ranking and comparing them provides the possibility of easier selection of the most favorable result. The paper presents the issues of multicriteria decision-making in the selection process, insight into methods and application to a concrete example. The method that allows the hierarchical structure of the problem, includes the analysis of the sewerage system of the city of Županja through social, economic and environmental factors. The aim of the research is to determine the appropriate selection of the type of sewage system for the observed area based on the above criteria, to show the benefits of each of them and to explain the selected. Microsoft Excel was used to evaluate and compare the given factors and implement the practical part of the task
