A tool for the interpretation of the organizational totems: Juan valdez® case [Una herramienta para la interpretación de los tótems organizacionales: Caso Juan Valdez®]
The totem represents an external and visible expression that constitutes as a symbol of the group. The objective of the study is to propose a tool for organizational management by interpreting totems. This tool is verified in the case of Procafecol Juan Valdez® owner- that has supported in its totem and in environmental, legal and ethical policies, to transform perception of its stakeholders -being recognized among largest coffee producers (1959), competing with cafeterias (2002) and relaunching its internationalization (2012)-. Effect of the hydrostatic pressure and shell's Al composition in the intraband absorption coefficient for core/shell spherical GaAs/AlxGa1?xAs quantum dots
In this paper we theoretically investigate the role of hydrostatic pressure by analyzing its influence on potential barrier's height in GaAs/AlxGa1?xAs core/shell spherical quantum dots. The values of hydrostatic pressure considered here are always below the ??X crossover. In addition, we take into account the barrier shell's size effects and the barrier's aluminum concentration, looking for a description of the features of the intraband optical absorption coefficient in the system. The electronic structure is calculated within the effective mass approximation. From the numerical point of view the hybrid matrix method was implemented to avoid numerical instability issues that appears in the conventional transfer matrix method. The main intersubband optical transition is considered to take place between the 1s and 1p computed electronic states. The results show that the absorption coefficient undergoes first a red-shift and later a more pronounced blue-shift, depending on the AlxGa1?xAs barrier width (wb1). The absorption coefficient experiences a blue-shift as the barrier's aluminum concentration increases, and it is non monotonically red-shifted as the hydrostatic pressure augments, due to the barrier's height pressure dependency. For the chosen system parameters, the absorption coefficient resonant peak lies within the range of 20 to 30 meV, that corresponds to the THz frequency region. Accordingly, this system can be proposed as a building block for photodetectors in the THz electromagnetic spectrum region. © 2019 Elsevier Lt
Formulación de estrategias para competitividad ganadera en el contexto de la revolución industrial 4.0 : estudio de caso Villa del Rosario
La ganadería de doble propósito que se practica en Colombia presenta dificultades en la productividad debido a la poca inversión estatal y a la escasa implementación de tecnologías de punta que ayuden a dejar atrás la explotación artesanal en los hatos ganaderos. En aras a ayudar en estas dificultades se efectuó está investigación, en donde se desarrollaron estrategias utilizando tecnologías de la revolución industrial 4.0 las cuales ayudan a aumentar la competitividad de un negocio ganadero. El éxito de este trabajo parte de mostrarle al ganadero como es que se descubre la estructura de su negocio y en qué actividades se puede implementar tecnologías de la industria 4.0. que maximicen la competitividad de su negocio. Este trabajo puede ser utilizado como un manual para implementar tecnologías de la industria 4.0 en una finca ganadera, que involucra las variables, actividades, modelos y tecnologías que deberían estar presentes para desarrollar competitivamente un negocio ganadero.The double purpose livestock that is practiced in Colombia presents difficulties in productivity due to the limited state investment and the insufficient implementation of advanced technologies that help to leave behind the traditional exploitation in the livestock farms. to address these difficulties, this research developed strategies using technologies of the industrial revolution 4.0. industrial revolution helped to increase the competitiveness of a livestock business. The success of this research is in showing the farmer how to discover the structure of his business and in which activities he can implement technologies of the 4.0 industry to maximize the competitiveness of his business. Relación entre las prácticas de aula de los docentes y sus percepciones sobre la gestión educativa de los directivos : caso de estudio : Institución Educativa Juan María Céspedes, Medellín
La presente investigación se desarrolló en una institución educativa oficial de Medellín, y su objetivo fue analizar la relación entre las Prácticas de aula de los docentes y sus percepciones sobre la Gestión educativa de los directivos. Por medio de esta investigación con enfoque cuantitativo de tipo descriptivo e inferencial, cuyo diseño fue observacional, no experimental y de tipo correlacional, se aplicó a los docentes (n=56) de la Institución Educativa objeto de estudio, un cuestionario validado mediante juicio de expertos; con este instrumento se pretendió describir las prácticas de aula de los docentes y, a partir de su autoevaluación, indagar acerca de sus percepciones sobre la gestión educativa de los directivos para determinar finalmente, la existencia de relación significativa entre las precitadas variables. Las dimensiones: Planeación, Ambiente de aprendizaje, Cultura de aprendizaje y Práctica pedagógica constituyeron la Variable dependiente Prácticas de aula, en tanto que Gestión directiva, Gestión académica, Gestión administrativa y Gestión comunidad atendieron la variable independiente Gestión educativa. Estas variables fueron analizadas a nivel descriptivo, mediante promedio y desviación típica. Por otra parte, para determinar la relación entre ambas variables, se utilizó el coeficiente de correlación de Spearman Brown, a un nivel de significación del 5%. Al observar los resultados sobre la relación entre las cuatro dimensiones de cada una de las variables analizadas, y teniendo en cuenta el valor de ? = 0.11, se pudo concluir que las percepciones de los docentes sobre la gestión educativa de los directivos de la institución se relacionan de manera estadísticamente significativa con sus Prácticas de aula (r= 0.338).The present study was conducted in an official educative institution in Medellin, Colombia, and its objective was to analyze the relation between classroom's practices of the teachers and their perception about the educative management of the school authorities. Through this research of quantitative approach of descriptive and inferential type and observational design, not experimental and of correlational type, it was made a questionnaire validated through the experts judgement to the teachers (n=56) of the Educative institution that was the object of study; with this instruments it was intendent to describe the classroom's practices of the teachers, and from that self-evaluation, there were known their perceptions about the educational management of the school's directors to finally, determine the existence of the relation between the aforementioned variables. The dimensions: Planning, learning environment, learning culture and pedagogical practice constitute the dependent variable. Classroom practices, as directive management, academic management, administrative management and community management took care of the independent variable Educational management. These variables were analyzed in descriptive level, using average and typical deviation. By the other side, to determine the relation between both variables, the Spearman Brown correlation coefficient, at a significance level of 5% was used. When observing the results about the relationship between the four dimensions of each of the analyzed variables, and taking into account the value of ? = 0.11, it was possible to conclude that teachers' perceptions of the educational management of the institution's managers were relate statistically significantly to their classroom Practices (r = 0.338).Magíster en EducaciónMaestrí
Programa de formación socioemocional y sus efectos en las competencias socioemocionales de los maestros
Se presentan en este trabajo los resultados de la investigación que tuvo como propósito analizar los efectos de un programa de formación socioemocional en las competencias socioemocionales de los maestros de una institución educativa oficial de la ciudad de Medellín. Para ello se diseñó, implementó y evaluó el programa de formación socioemocional como estrategia pedagógica, en el que se incluyeron algunas herramientas del teatro y la danza. A nivel metodológico, se empleó un diseño mixto, en el que desde lo cuantitativo, se llevó a cabo un estudio cuasiexperimental, con mediciones pretest postest y grupo control. Desde lo cualitativo, se realizó un estudio interpretativo y contextual, en el que se analizaron los efectos del programa de formación socioemocional en las competencias socioemocionales de los mismos, para luego proceder a la integración analítica de los métodos. Posterior a la implementación del programa de formación, los grupos mostraron incrementos en sus promedios de competencias socioemocionales. No obstante, estas diferencias no fueron estadísticamente significativas. Desde el análisis cualitativo, se evidenció la eficacia del programa desde un modelo de evaluación formativa, desde cuatro aspectos: satisfacción, aplicabilidad, impacto e implementación. Se concluye que el programa de formación socioemocional ha tenido efectos positivos en las competencias socioemocionales de los maestros que participaron en el programa, contribuyendo a su bienestar, desarrollo humano y profesional, evidenciando la necesaria inclusión de estos programas en la formación de los maestros, para afrontar con mayor éxito el ejercicio profesional docente, una necesidad sentida en el ámbito de la educación pública.This work contains the results of the research wich purpose was to analyze the effects of a socio-emotional training program on the socio-emotional competencies of the teachers of an official educational institution in the city of Medellin. To this end, the training program was designed, implemented and evaluated as a pedagogical strategy, which included some tools for theatre and dance. At the methodological level, a mixed design was used, in which from the quantitative, a quasi-experimental study was carried out, with pretest postest measurements and control group. From the qualitative means, an interpretative and contextual study was carried out, in which the effects of the socio-emotional training program on the socio-emotional competences of the same were analyzed, and then proceeded to the analytical integration of the methods. Following the implementation of the training program, the groups showed increases in their socioemotional competency averages. However, these differences were not statistically meaningful. From the qualitative analysis, the effectiveness of the program was demonstrated from a training evaluation model, from four aspects: satisfaction, applicability, impact and implementation. It is concluded that the socio-emotional training program has had a positive effect on the socio-emotional competencies of the teachers who participated in the program, contributing to their well-being, their human and professional development, and demonstrating the necessary inclusion of these programs in teacher training, in order to face more successfully the teaching professional exercise, a need felt in the field of public education.Magíster en EducaciónMaestrí
Estudio del efecto de contaminantes atmosféricos en la generación de arritmias cardiacas implementando un modelo 3d de aurícula humana
La contaminación atmosférica es el principal componente de la contaminación ambiental. Medellín ha sido reportada como una de las ciudades más contaminadas de América Latina. Los contaminantes más peligrosos para la salud, de acuerdo con la Agencia de Protección Ambiental de Estados Unidos, son el dióxido de nitrógeno, el dióxido de azufre, el monóxido de carbono y el material particulado. El plomo se reportó como uno de los elementos más abundantes encontrados en la caracterización de material particulado recolectado en una estación de monitoreo de la Universidad de Medellín. El material particulado se considera un grave problema de contaminación ambiental debido a sus efectos en la salud humana, asociados con un mayor riesgo de morbilidad y mortalidad cardiovascular, específicamente la exposición al plomo produce graves efectos fisiológicos, incluso a niveles de exposición bajos y se asocia con arritmias cardiacas, infarto de miocardio y mortalidad por accidente cerebrovascular. En este trabajo, incorporamos el efecto del plomo reportado experimentalmente, sobre los canales de calcio tipo L, en un modelo matemático de cardiomiocito auricular. Este modelo celular se acopló a un modelo 3D de aurícula humana, con el objetivo de estudiar el efecto del plomo a diferentes concentraciones (0 - 300 nM) en la generación de arritmias auriculares. A una concentración de 300 nM de plomo, se generó un flutter auricular, por lo tanto, los resultados sugieren un efecto proarrítmico del plomo a altas concentraciones. Los resultados de este estudio contribuirán a un mejor conocimiento de los mecanismos por los cuales los contaminantes atmosféricos conducen a la generación de arritmias, sirviendo como referencia científica para la implementación de políticas públicas encaminadas a mitigar la contaminación ambiental

The research engaged in this articles had as a goal analyzing the emotional perceptions of a focal group of young students from Fundación Universitaria los Libertadores with ages within a range from 17 to 23 years old, through an advertisement exercise that allowed the observation of the levels of remembrance generated by the exposition to the subjects of two advertisements in different time intervals: one of them with a traditional bidimensional format and the second one, the same piece translated into the emerging augmented reality technology. The methodology employed was an explorative one: it implied the development of three analysis and reading matrix-type tools. The first of them was composed for undergoing the translation process of the bi-dimensional piece to the enriched narrative with augmented reality, involving in its making which of the constitutive elements highlighted in importance over some that were not as important. The second one was employed for registering the emotional perceptions of the participants in the experiment, comparing the two kinds of pieces in two different moments; and with the third one, the aim was analyzing the attachment levels towards both pieces. These last two tools had as a goal registering the level of remembrance in time generated by the two spots presented. The research concludes that augmented reality generates impact among spectators and improves the remembrance capacity, but not in the levels expected. On the other hand, it is found that it was possible to incorporate positive design concepts for the translation and analysis of advertisements pieces that also work as a methodological medium for evaluating and registering the remembrance states. This facilitated the design and development process of an app for mobile devices as an extended augmented reality advertisement proposal —augmented advertisement—.A pesquisa abordada no presente artigo teve como objetivo analisar as percepções emotivas de um grupo focal de jovens estudantes da Fundación Universitaria Los Libertadores, com idades entre 17 e 23 anos, por meio da realização de um exercício publicitário que permitiu observar os níveis de recordação gerados a partir da exposição a dois avisos em diferentes intervalos de tempo: um de corte tradicional bidimensional; e o mesmo aviso traduzido à tecnologia emergente de realidade aumentada. A metodologia implementada na pesquisa foi de tipo exploratório: implicou no desenvolvimento de três ferramentas de tipo matriz de análise e leitura. A primeira delas foi composta para executar o processo de tradução da peça bidimensional à narrativa enriquecida com realidade aumentada e compreendeu, em sua elaboração, os elementos constitutivos da mensagem que se destacavam em importância sobre outros que não eram indispensáveis. A segunda, por sua vez, foi empregada para registrar as percepções emotivas dos participantes no experimento, que foram comparadas entre os dois tipos de peças em dois momentos diferentes; e com a terceira pretendeuse analisar os níveis de apego com respeito às duas peças expostas. Essas duas ferramentas tiveram como finalidade registrar o nível de recordação no tempo gerado pelos spots que foram apresentados. Concluise que a realidade aumentada gera impacto nos espectadores e aumenta a capacidade de recordação, mas não nos níveis esperados. Por outro lado, descobriuse que foi possível incorporar os conceitos do desenho positivo para a tradução e análise de peças publicitárias, que também funcionam como meio metodológico para avaliar e registrar os estados de recordação. Isso facilitou o processo de criação e desenvolvimento de um aplicativo para dispositivos móveis, como uma proposta de publicidade de realidade aumentada estendida — publicidade aumentada.La investigación abordada en el presente artículo tuvo como objetivo analizar las percepciones emotivas de un grupo focal de jóvenes estudiantes de la Fundación Universitaria los Libertadores con edades comprendidas entre 17 y 23 años de edad, mediante la realización de un ejercicio publicitario que permitió observar los niveles de recordación generados a partir de la exposición a dos avisos en diferentes intervalos de tiempo: uno de corte tradicional bidimensional; y el mismo aviso traducido a la tecnología emergente de realidad aumentada. La metodología implementada en la investigación fue de tipo exploratorio: implicó el desarrollo de 3 herramientas de tipo matriz de análisis y lectura. La primera de ellas se compuso para llevar a cabo el proceso de traducción de la pieza bidimensional a la narrativa enriquecida con realidad aumentada, comprendiéndose en su elaboración qué elementos constitutivos del mensaje sobresalían en importancia sobre otros que no eran indispensables. La segunda, a su turno, se empleó para registrar las percepciones emotivas de los participantes en el experimento, comparándolas entre los dos tipos de piezas en dos momentos diferentes; y con la tercera se pretendió analizar los niveles de apego hacia las dos piezas expuestas. Estas dos herramientas tuvieron como finalidad registrar el nivel de recordación en el tiempo generado por los spots que se presentaron. Se concluye que la realidad aumentada genera impacto en los espectadores y aumenta la capacidad de recordación, mas no en los niveles esperados. Por otra parte, se encuentra que fue posible incorporar los conceptos del diseño positivo para la traducción y análisis de piezas publicitarias, que además funcionan como medio metodológico para evaluar y registrar los estados de recordación. Double-walled carbon nanotube deformation by interacting with a nickel surface: A DFT study
The effect of interaction between (4,4)@(9,9) double-walled carbon nanotube and Ni(111) surface is studied by density functional theory calculations, including van der Waals interaction effects. Different modes of adsorption were evaluated. Calculations of adsorption energy, density of states, and charge redistribution are performed. According to adsorption energy, it was found that the most probable adsorption mode is the called bridge/top mode, were Ni atoms of surface top layer form a bridge with carbon bonds of the double-walled carbon nanotube. Additionally, a strong structural deformation for bridge/top adsorption mode is observed together with dipoles induction on the external wall of the double-walled carbon nanotube. The presence of dipoles suggests that the double-walled carbon nanotube over Ni(111) surface is more reactive than the isolated carbon nanotube and this could be employed as an electron donor system. © 2019 Elsevier B.V
The no functional equivalence between the electronic proof and the documentary proof: A reading from the Colombian procedural regulation [La no equivalencia funcional entre la prueba electrónica y la prueba documental: Una lectura desde la regulacion procesal colombiana]
The principle of functional equivalence constituted the vehicle so that the electronic proof could be entered into the civil trial with full efficacy and validity effects in order that the judge of civil process would admit them and evaluate them according to the standard established for the documentary proof. However, the electronic proof is far distance from the documentary proof, questioning severely the veracity of this principle of functional equivalence, and in turn, the effectiveness of the electronic proof in the civil trial. © 2019 Universidad de Talca
Human Atrial Electrophysiological Models Under Fractional Derivative: Depolarization and Repolarization Dynamics During Normal and Fibrillation Conditions
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia within the clinical context. Advanced stages of the AF involve several difficulties in its management and treatment. This occurs mostly because the initiation and perpetuation mechanisms of the AF are still not fully understood. Cardiac scientific computation has become an important tool in researching the underlying mechanisms of the AF. In this work, an equation of action potential propagation that implements fractional order derivatives is used to model the atrial dynamics. The fractional derivative order represents the structural heterogeneities of the atrial myocardium. Using such mathematical operator, the Courtemanche and Maleckar human atrial electrophysiological models, during healthy and AF conditions, are assessed. The results indicate that, through the fractional order variations, there are electrophysiological properties whose behavior do not depend on the cellular model or physiological conditions. On the other hand, there are properties whose behavior under distinct values of the fractional order, are specific to the cellular model and to the physiological condition and they can be characterized quantitatively and qualitatively. Therefore, the fractional atrial propagation model can be a useful tool for modeling a wide range of electrophysiological scenarios in both healthy and AF conditions. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG
