Well-balanced POD-based reduced-order models for finite volume approximation of hyperbolic balance laws
This paper introduces a reduced-order modeling approach based on finite volume methods for hyperbolic systems, combining Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (POD) with the Discrete Empirical Interpolation Method (DEIM) and Proper Interval Decomposition (PID). Applied to systems such as the transport equation with source term, non-homogeneous Burgers equation, and shallow water equations with non-flat bathymetry and Manning friction, this method achieves significant improvements in computational efficiency and accuracy compared to previous time-averaging techniques. A theoretical result justifying the use of well-balanced Full-Order Models (FOMs) is presented. Numerical experiments validate the approach, demonstrating its accuracy and efficiency. Furthermore, the question of prediction of solutions for systems that depend on some physical parameters is also addressed, and a sensitivity analysis on POD parameters confirms the model’s robustness and efficiency in this case.Funding for open access charge: Universidad de Málaga / CBU
Improving 5G base station placement through precise rooftop detection using super-resolution diffusion models and satellite image analysis.
The accurate deployment of 5 G base stations (BSs) in urban environments is essential for achieving optimal network performance. In these scenarios, the most common positions for installing BSs are rooftops, which, however, given the complex topography and diverse building structures, present significant challenges when identifying suitable locations. This paper proposes an enhanced method for rooftop detection, integrating diffusion models based on super-resolution with segmentation using convolutional neural networks. Starting from the input image, a super-resolution model is applied to generate sliding windows on which re-inference is performed, thereby improving both the resolution and prediction accuracy for this type of object. By refining these detections, the placement of 5 G base stations is undertaken in a practical, industrial way, thus allowing network operators to perform a more real-world network optimization. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in detection accuracy, directly contributing to more efficient 5 G base station deployment in densely populated urban areas. This methodology offers a scalable, adaptable, and effective solution based on the context of the images it applies to

El ciberacoso es un fenómeno que conlleva efectos muy nocivos sobre la salud mental de los adolescentes, que parece haber experimentado un incremento de su prevalencia durante la pandemia por Covid-19. Existe evidencia de que las estrategias de regulación cognitivo-emocional pueden predecir la perpetración o victimización de comportamientos violentos. No obstante, hay una escasez de estudios que analicen específicamente cómo se relacionan los diferentes roles en el ciberacoso (cibervíctima, ciberagresor y cibervíctima-ciberagresor) con el uso dichas estrategias de regulación emocional. Por ello, los objetivos del presente estudio fueron: analizar la prevalencia de los distintos roles del ciberacoso en una muestra de adolescentes españoles; y explorar qué estrategias de afrontamiento de regulación cognitiva-emocional contribuyen a que los adolescentes acaben ejerciendo cada uno de los roles de implicación en el ciberacoso. Una muestra de 1389 estudiantes cumplimentó dos cuestionarios que evaluaban el ciberacoso y el uso de las estrategias de regulación cognitivo-emocional. Los resultados arrojaron una prevalencia elevada para cada uno de los roles del ciberacoso. Asimismo, el uso de algunas estrategias determinaba una mayor probabilidad de ejercer cada uno de los perfiles. Concretamente, el uso de las estrategias de catastrofismo, culpar a los demás y autoculpa significativamente incrementaban la probabilidad de implicarse en situaciones de ciberacoso ejerciendo alguno de los roles como cibervíctimas, ciberagresores y como cibervíctimas-ciberagresores, respectivamente. The Role of Public Relations in the Employability and Entrepreneurship Services of Andalusian Public Universities
In higher education, the employability and entrepreneurship services play an essential role in the labor market insertion of graduates. The management of public relations promotes institutional projection, the creation of networks with companies, and the dissemination of initiatives to strengthen professional skills. This research analyzes how the communication strategies of Andalusian public universities improve employability and encourage entrepreneurship. A methodological triangulation is used: literature review, analysis of social networks with Fanpage Karma, and study of corporate websites. The results show a focus on counseling, training, workshops, job fairs, and networking events, strengthening the brand of universities and their commitment to the professional development of students

Galanin(1-15) and Naltrexone: A novel approach for alcohol use disorder in rats, involving the mesolimbic system.
Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) is a highly prevalent psychiatric and represents a significant public health challenge. Naltrexone (NTX), a mu-opioid receptor antagonist widely used for AUD treatment, has limited efficacy due to side effects and variability in patient response. Interactions between the full-length GAL molecule and the opioid system have been demonstrated. In our recent studies, we showed that the Galanin (1-15) fragment [GAL(1-15)] decreased alcohol seeking along with alcohol consumption. This study aims to examine the effects of GAL(1-15)+NTX on alcohol-seeking behavior and alcohol consumption, as well as the involvement of the mesolimbic system. In rats, we assessed GAL(1-15)+NTX in reward-seeking and the role of GALR2 using the antagonist M871 in the self-administration test. In addition, GAL(1-15)+NTX effects were studied on voluntary alcohol using the two-bottle choice paradigm. Locomotor activity and stereotyped behaviors, along with dopamine release in the dorsal striatum following alcohol injections, were assessed. Moreover, we have analyzed the transcriptional changes of C-Fos, MOR, POMPC, and dopamine receptors in the ventral tegmental area, nucleus accumbens and the hypothalamus. GAL(1-15)+NTX combination reduced alcohol seeking in self-administration and two-bottle choice consumption, with GALR2 involved in the effect. In addition, GAL(1-15)+NTX attenuated alcohol-induced locomotor activity and stereotyped behaviors linked to reduced dopamine release in the dorsal striatum. Notably, these effects were associated with C-Fos, MOR, and dopamine receptor changes, suggesting that the mesolimbic pathway, including the opioid system, is involved in GAL(1-15)+NTX effects. These results open up the possibility of using GAL(1-15) with NTX as a novel strategy in AUD

A cluster of patterns for trusted computing
The proliferation of Internet of Things and cyberphysical systems has introduced unprecedented challenges in ensuring the
integrity and confidentiality of critical data, making robust security mechanisms essential. There are several mechanisms
intended to assure trust with respect to the software loaded into the system and the trustworthiness of the boot process. These
mechanisms start from a Root of Trust (RoT), from where all the other trusts, e.g., for components and software are derived. As
part of the RoT, a Secure Storage is needed. This Secure Storage can be considered as part of the RoT or considered a separate
component. After a RoT is established, a Trusted Boot can be performed. The execution of computational processes can then
be supported by using separate execution zones (Zone Isolation). More complex trust functions such as remote attestation can
be performed by a Trusted Platform Module (TPM). In this paper, we propose security patterns for these components. The
abstraction power of patterns can be used to define the basic aspects that each of these components must have, thus serving
