    Este trabajo de fin de máster se ha basado en una evaluación de riesgos de una empresa constructora, Construcciones Q, empresa líder del sector de la construcción a nivel nacional. La presente evaluación de riesgos se ha elaborado con la finalidad de cumplir con los requerimientos de la vigente Ley 31/1995, de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales y con la intención de minimizar los riesgos presentes en la obra que preserven la seguridad y salud de todos los trabajadores, tras analizar el elevado número de accidentes de la empresa. En esta evaluación de riesgos se analizan riesgos de seguridad como las caídas en altura, riesgos higiénicos como la exposición a contaminantes químicos, riesgos ergonómicos con posiciones forzadas y riesgos psicosociales como el estrés. Tras analizar todos estos riesgos se propondrán medidas correctivas y preventivas. Además, se realiza una introducción donde se habla de los índices de siniestralidad y de la problemática del sector de la construcción

    Régimen jurídico del cuerpo de agentes forestales.

    La tesis doctoral se centra en analizar el régimen jurídico del cuerpo de agentes forestales. Así, realiza un análisis histórico de este colectivo funcionarial, desde los orígenes del propio ser humano hasta el actual cuerpo de agentes forestales, para posteriormente realizar un estudio sobre la distribución de competencias en materia de función pública medioambiental. La naturaleza jurídica el cuerpo se configura como otro de los aspectos objeto de análisis, centrándose en la naturaleza policial del cuerpo en toda su extensión: administrativa, de seguridad y judicial, para pasar a realizar un análisis sobre el régimen jurídico de este colectivo en la legislación básica del Estado, en la de las Comunidades Autónomas y en las entidades locales. Por otra parte, y derivado de la naturaleza policial del cuerpo, la tesis doctoral también analiza la prevención de riesgos laborales aplicable al colectivo, para finalizar con el estudio de los diferentes proyecto de ley que sobre el cuerpo ha intentado llevar a cabo el legislador

    Vibrotactile stimulus duration threshold for perception of pulse to vibration transition.

    This study investigates the minimum stimulus duration required to perceive the transition from pulse to vibration sensations, a critical parameter for optimizing information transmission via haptic interfaces such as smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, game consoles, and sensory substitution systems. Efficient transmission relies on minimizing stimulus duration, enabling more information to be conveyed in less time. A preliminary experiment established intensity perception thresholds—the minimum vibration intensities detectable—at 40, 80, 150, 250, 300, and 590 Hz, frequencies primarily activating the Pacinian (Rapid Adapting II) psychophysical channel. Subsequently, 35 participants determined the minimum durations needed to perceive the transition from pulse to vibration sensations across this frequency range.     Bacterial synthesis of anisotropic gold nanoparticles

    Pseudomonas aeruginosa was used to synthesize anisotropic gold nanoparticles from the unusually reducible aryldiazonium gold (III) salt of the chemical formula [HOOC-4-C6H4N≡N]AuCl4 (abbreviated as DS-AuCl4). We investigated the effect of bacterial cell density, temperature, and pH on the AuNP synthesis. The bacterial cell density of 6.0 × 108 CFU/mL successfully reduced 0.5 mM DS-AuCl4 salt to AuNPs after incubation at 37 °C (24 h), 42 °C (24 h), and 25 °C (48 h). Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images revealed the formation of spherical, triangle, star, hexagon, and truncated triangular morphologies for the AuNPs synthesized using P. aeruginosa bacteria. The average size of AuNPs synthesized at 25 °C (48 h), 37 °C (24 h), and 42 °C (24 h) was 39.0 ± 9.1 nm, 26.0 ± 8.1 nm, and 36.7 ± 7.7 nm, respectively. The average size of AuNPs synthesized at pH 3.7, 7.0, and 12.7 was 36.7 ± 7.7 nm, 14.7 ± 3.8 nm, and 7.3 ± 2.5 nm, respectively, with the average size decreasing at a pH of 12.7. The reduction of the DS-AuCl4 salt was confirmed using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The significant peaks for C1s, Au4f doublet, N1s, and O1s are centered at 285, 84–88, 400, and 532 eV. The ability of inactivated bacteria (autoclave-dead and mechanically lysed bacteria), peptidoglycan, and lipopolysaccharides to reduce the DS-AuCl4 salt to AuNPs was also investigated. Anisotropic AuNPs were synthesized using inactivated bacteria and peptidoglycan but not using lipopolysaccharides. The AuNPs demonstrated biocompatibility with human RBCs and were safe, with no antibacterial activities against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. This is the first report demonstrating the synthesis of AuNPs using aryldiazonium gold(III) salts with P. aeruginosa.     Efect of a 12-week exercise program on phase angle in women with breast cancer.

    Purpose The aims of this study were to analyze the effects of a 12-week exercise intervention on bioelectrical impedance analysis-derived phase angle (PhA), resistance (R), and reactance (Xc) in breast cancer survivors (BCS) and analyze the relationship between changes in bioelectrical impedance variables and changes in functional capacity and muscular strength. Methods This was a prospective cohort study. Potentially eligible patients were recruited from the Medical Oncology Unit of the hospital. Female BCS older than 18 years were offered to participate in the study if they had previously undergone surgery for their primary tumor and there was no evidence of recurrence at the time of recruitment. A 12-week exercise program including resistance and endurance training was performed, including two weekly sessions led by a physical therapist. Measurements were performed at baseline and after 12 weeks, including PhA and function-related outcomes. The relationship between changes in PhA and function-related outcomes was assessed using the Pearson r correlation coefficient. Results Sixty-seven BCS women were included in the analysis. A significant increase was found in PhA and functional outcomes after the intervention, as well as a significant decrease in R. Bivariate correlations showed a significant positive correlation between PhA and functional tests (Hand grip, r = 0.37 [p = 0.002], 30-Sit to Stand, r = 0.39 [0.002], respectively). Conclusion A 12-week concurrent exercise program may be effective to improve PhA and R. Additionally, there appears to be a correlation between PhA and Xc with functional capacity outcomes. Finally, baseline PhA, Xc, and R values explained part of the 30-STS and hand grip tests variance at 12 weeks, which could suggest its importance in the prognosis.Funding for open access charge: Universidad de Málaga / CBU

    Women’s Entrepreneurship in the Tourism Industry: A Bibliometric Study.

Grant number: PID2022-139037OB-I00.Women’s entrepreneurship in the tourism industry plays a vital role in promoting economic growth, advancing gender equality, and encouraging innovation. Female entrepreneurs contribute to the diversification of tourism services, job generation, and the revitalization of local economies. This study employs data from the Web of Science database to examine research on tourism and female entrepreneurship over the past two decades. The primary goals are to explore emerging trends, publishing patterns, and the geographical regions most active in this area of research, as well as to identify the key journals, authors, and keywords shaping the field. The bibliometric analysis uncovers the progression of academic studies and highlights regions with significant research activity. While female entrepreneurship is a driving force for economic development and gender equity in tourism, persistent obstacles, such as limited research in certain areas and barriers to women’s participation, remain. This work underscores the increasing significance of women’s contributions to tourism and offers a framework for future studies and policies aimed at fostering gender equality and sustainable economic development

    Sexuality Construction, Pornography, and Gender Violence: A Qualitative Study with Spanish Adolescents.

As a critical aspect of life, adolescents should have quality sexual education to guide them through this transition. A qualitative design using in-depth interviews with an ethnographic perspective to obtain detailed information considering the context. The Venegas model on sexual-affective education was referenced. This model identifies four significant areas: gender, sexuality, love/affection, and body. A qualitative design based on in-depth interviews was chosen to obtain detailed information about the issues mentioned. Forty semi-structured interviews were conducted with adolescents aged 13 to 20 in two groups: students of compulsory secondary education and vocational training. Results showed boys tend to prioritize physical aspects of sexuality, such as masturbation and intercourse, whereas girls tend to focus more on emotional connections and concern about contraception. Pornography, patriarchal cultural patterns, sexism, and traditional gender roles shaped these initial experiences. Meanings and practices were revealed to be conditioned by a sexist model of attraction, body dissatisfaction, and learning through pornography, which was related to experiences of normalized control and sexual violence in relationships. Some positive advancements resulting from feminist achievements were also discovered, such as understanding the value of consent, empathy, and the appreciation of alternative models of masculinity by some girls. These results highlight the importance of developing sexual education programs from a psychosocial and feminist perspective. Such programs should aim to transform cultural norms and attitudes surrounding sexuality, promoting agency and healthier and more equitable relationships among adolescents

    Artificial Intelligence: an emerging tool for studying drug-induced liver injury.

    https://openpolicyfinder.jisc.ac.uk/id/publication/11895Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is a complex and potentially severe adverse reaction to drugs, herbal products or dietary supplements. DILI can mimic other liver diseases clinical presentation, and currently lacks specific diagnostic biomarkers, which hinders its diagnosis. In some cases, DILI may progress to acute liver failure. Given its public health risk, novel methodologies to enhance the understanding of DILI are crucial. Recently, the increasing availability of larger datasets has highlighted artificial intelligence (AI) as a powerful tool to construct complex models. In this review, we summarise the evidence about the use of AI in DILI research, explaining fundamental AI concepts and its subfields. We present findings from AI-based approaches in DILI investigations for risk stratification, prognostic evaluation and causality assessment and discuss the adoption of natural language processing (NLP) and large language models (LLM) in the clinical setting.     Gorillaz and Media Hybridization in Contemporary Popular Music: Redefining the Boundaries of Storytelling by Creating Imaginaries

    La banda virtual Gorillaz constituye uno de los ejemplos más paradigmáticos en la industria musical actual. Conjugando el proyecto musical con el visual, sus creadores, el músico Damon Alban y el artista Jamie Hewlett, han incorporado las innovaciones y tecnologías de la imagen para desarrollar una sólida trayectoria en el panorama musical contemporáneo. En 2023, lanzaron su último trabajo, Cracker Island, en el que aplican las potencialidades narrativas y de construcción de identidad de las redes sociales a su particular relato. Como sucediera con anteriores trabajos, para este disco han creado un storytelling que salta del mundo virtual al físico, lo que le confiere un carácter transmedia e híbrido. Esta investigación analiza tal relato y sus recursos visuales y simbólicos con los que la banda amplía y consolida su singular imaginario. Se ha realizado un diseño metodológico que combina la revisión documental y el análisis narrativo y visual que se aplica a diversas piezas desarrolladas para la promoción del álbum. Los resultados demuestran la existencia de un storytelling y de un universo visual único que conecta con las audiencias y se convierten en elementos centrales del proyecto transmedia Cracker Island, ampliando los límites del álbum visual. Este trabajo, en la línea de Plastic Beach (2016), Humanz (2017) y The Now Now (2018), expande el imaginario de la banda que, en esta ocasión, se difunde a través de todos los medios que el grupo tiene a su alcance
