    No full text
This work systematizes information on rock art in the state of Chiapas from the Preclassic period to recent times. To do so, we use the category of design structure to refer to composition patterns that characterize the designs made on rock supports where it is possible to identify rules and resources. The spatial boundary category is also used to understand the distribution of styles where rock art producers worked with design traditions, some from long-term structures. Finally, archaeologists interpretations are contrasted with the information of ethnographic Lacandon Maya, taking up a case study in Lake Mensabak, Lacandon Jungle in order to deconstruct the ontological boundaries that prevent us from approaching other worlds of life.Área de Historia del Art

Beyond the Wild MRSA: Genetic Features and Phylogenomic Review of mecC-Mediated Methicillin Resistance in Non-aureus Staphylococci and Mammaliicocci

    No full text
Methicillin resistance, mediated by the mecA gene in staphylococci and mammaliicocci, has caused tremendous setbacks in the use of antibiotics in human and veterinary medicine due to its high potential of presenting the multidrug resistance (MDR) phenotype. Three other mec analogs exist, of which the mecC has evolutionary been associated with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in wild animals, thus loosely referred to as the wild MRSA. In this study, we present an epidemiological review and genomic analysis of non-aureus staphylococci and mammaliicocci that carry the mecC-mediated methicillin resistance trait and determine whether this trait has any relevant link with the One Health niches. All previous studies (2007 till 2023) that described the mecC gene in non-aureus staphylococci and mammaliicocci were obtained from bibliometric databases, reviewed, and systematically analyzed to obtain the antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and virulence determinants, mobilome, and other genetic contents. Moreover, core genome single-nucleotide polymorphism analysis was used to assess the relatedness of these strains. Of the 533 articles analyzed, only 16 studies (on livestock, environmental samples, milk bulk tanks, and wild animals) were eligible for inclusion, of which 17 genomes from 6 studies were used for various in silico genetic analyses. Findings from this systematic review show that all mecC-carrying non-aureus staphylococci were resistant to only beta-lactam antibiotics and associated with the classical SCCmec XI of S. aureus LGA251. Similarly, two studies on wild animals reported mecC-carrying Mammaliicoccus stepanovicii associated with SCCmec XI. Nevertheless, most of the mecC-carrying Mammaliicoccus species presented an MDR phenotype (including linezolid) and carried the SCCmec-mecC hybrid associated with mecA. The phylogenetic analysis of the 17 genomes revealed close relatedness (<20 SNPs) and potential transmission of M. sciuri and M. lentus strains in livestock farms in Algeria, Tunisia, and Brazil. Furthermore, closely related M. sciuri strains from Austria, Brazil, and Tunisia (<40 SNPs) were identified. This systematic review enhances our comprehension of the epidemiology and genetic organization of mecC within the non-aureus staphylococci and mammaliicocci. It could be hypothesized that the mecC-carrying non-aureus staphylococci are evolutionarily related to the wild MRSA-mecC. The potential implications of clonal development of a lineage of mecA/mecC carrying strains across multiple dairy farms in a vast geographical region with the dissemination of MDR phenotype is envisaged. It was observed that most mecC-carrying non-aureus staphylococci and mammaliicocci were reported in mastitis cases. Therefore, veterinarians and veterinary microbiology laboratories must remain vigilant regarding the potential existence of mecA/mecC strains originating from mastitis as a potential niche for this resistance trait

Crime of sexting and Artificial Intelligence after Law 10/2022, of September 6, on the comprehensive guarantee of sexual freedom

    No full text
The legal protection offered in the face of sexting offences is in continuous evolution, trying to adapt to a dynamic and changing reality, marked by the development of technologies, poses the challenge of adapting and introducing new legislative scenarios capable of dealing with this new phenomenon, thus introducing Article 197.7 CP, which regulates the action of mass forwarding of explicit and reserved content of persons. It is proposed that, among other measures, certain punishable conducts introduced after the application of the aforementioned article, abandon their criminal reproach, returning their protection to the civil sphere, based on the principles of minimum intervention and ultima ratio. It is necessary to adapt legislation in a way that is sensitive to the protection of all the legal assets involved in this criminal offence.

    No full text
Since prehistoric times caves in Yucatan have been used by human groups for both secular activities and symbolic purposes. Based on the regional Rock Art’s different topics and motifs, four possible styles or traditions can be distinguished: one more universal or traditional with designs and features widespread in other regions, This tradition could be dated from early times. The second is a clearly Mayan tradition from the Early and Late Classic times, There is another tradition with late Mayan features, from Terminal Classic and Posclassic times. The last tradition corresponds withe the colonial and historic period. Likewise, the presence of cave paintings is more frequent in the western region of the Yucatan peninsula, while in the eastern part frequency of petroglyphs is more constant. Perhaps they are two different traditions, which could be markers of different cultural territories.Área de Historia del Art

Under this premise, the Special Management and Protection Plan for the Fortified Cultural Landscape of the Bay of Cartagena de Indias (PEMP Fort Bahía) was structured for the management and protection of the tangible and intangible heritage derived from the maritimity of this region. The purpose of this chapter is to present the foundations and contributions of this instrument to the management of the marine-coastal space in order to safeguard the multiple socio-historical values of the communities that today inhabit the Bay, always from an interdisciplinary perspective.Área de Historia del Art

Trends and Challenges of Sustainable Rural Tourism in the Face of Artificial Intelligence: A Bibliometric Analysis

    No full text
This study explores the development of sustainable rural tourism through a multidisciplinary approach, integrating economic, technological, and environmental perspectives. It aims to analyze research trends, key contributors, and the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping the future of rural tourism. This research combines bibliometric analysis with discussions on AI applications and sustainability, addressing gaps in the existing literature. Unlike previous studies, it focuses on the intersection of AI, employment, sustainability, and community engagement. This study employs a bibliometric analysis of the literature on sustainable rural tourism and artificial intelligence applications, covering the period from 1996 to 2024. The Scopus database was used to compile the corpus, selecting only relevant articles and scientific communications. Data processing and visualization were conducted using VOSviewer software (version 1.6.20), applying techniques such as keyword co-occurrence analysis, co-authorship, co-citation, and publication trend analysis. Subsequently, a content analysis of the identified articles was performed to deepen the understanding of theoretical frameworks and emerging challenges in integrating artificial intelligence into sustainable rural tourism. The study highlights the growing interest in sustainable rural tourism, with Spain and China identified as key contributors. AI is recognized as a transformative force, offering opportunities for innovation but raising ethical and employment concerns. The findings emphasize the importance of community-based initiatives, regulatory frameworks, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure the responsible implementation of AI in rural tourism. This research also identifies gaps in empirical studies, particularly regarding AI adoption and the long-term employment impacts on rural tourism.Departamento de Economía, Métodos Cuantitativos e Historia Económic
