    Agregación de índices de calidad basados en redes en el problema de localización de comercios minoristas. Un enfoque desde el aprendizaje supervisado

    In retailing, the location problem is a fundamental strategic aspect. It is usually formalized as a multi-criteria optimization problem to choose the most appropriate spot. A relevant element in the selection is the adequacy of the commercial ecosystem in the vicinity of the location. To account for this criterion, there are different primary indices based on networks that formalize the quality of the available options with regard to the surrounding ecosystem. Previous research suggests that aggregating the different indices using a classifier can improve the quality of these metrics. In this paper, we compare different classifiers to assess their performance in that respect. The analysis has been performed in a context of transfer knowledge and information fusion using data from all the cities in Castile and Leon, Spain. Our results show that the random forest and generalized linear models obtain results significantly superior to other alternatives.El problema de la localización en el comercio minorista es un aspecto estratégico fundamental. Suele formalizarse como un problema de optimización multicriterio para elegir la ubicación más adecuada. Un elemento relevante en la selección es la adecuación del ecosistema comercial en las proximidades de la localización. Bajo este criterio, existen diferentes índices primarios basados en redes para formalizar la calidad de las opciones disponibles con respecto al ecosistema circundante. Investigaciones anteriores sugieren que la agregación de los distintos índices mediante un clasificador puede mejorar la calidad de estas métricas. En este artículo, comparamos distintos clasificadores para evaluar su rendimiento. El análisis se ha realizado en un contexto de transferencia de conocimiento y fusión de información utilizando datos de todas las ciudades de Castilla y León, España. Burgos, 10 y 11 de octubre de 2024.El propósito principal de nuestro plan de difusión es aumentar la visibilidad y el uso de la Biblioteca de Ciencias de la Salud, mejorando la comunicación con los usuarios y fomentando un mayor aprovechamiento de los recursos disponibles, propiciando el uso y conocimiento de la misma desde el inicio de la vida universitaria, intentando aumentar el número de usuarios que conocen y acuden a la biblioteca o bien están informados por otros medios alternativos sobre la actividad de la misma, todo ello en línea con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible vigentes (Biblioteca inclusiva). La presente comunicación es el reflejo de la sistematización de todas las tareas que se realizan en la biblioteca en esta línea de trabajo

    Environmental and socio-economic evaluation of a groundwater bioremediation technology using social Cost-Benefit Analysis: Application to an in-situ metal(loid) precipitation case study

    Bioremediation can be an alternative or complementary approach to conventional soil and water treatment technologies. Determining the environmental and socio-economic impacts of bioremediation is important but rarely addressed. This work presents a comprehensive sustainability assessment for a specific groundwater bioremediation case study based on In-situ Metal(loid) Precipitation (ISMP) by conducting a social Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) using two different approaches: environmental Life Cycle Costing (eLCC) and Impact Pathway Approach (IPA). Externalities are calculated in two ways: i) using Environmental Prices (EP) to monetize Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) results and metal(loid)s removed at field scale, and ii) following the IPA steps to determine the social costs avoided by removing arsenic contamination at full scale. The results show that, in the baseline scenario, the project is not socio-economically viable in both cases as the Net Present Value (NPV) is −129,512.61 € and − 415,185,140 € respectively. Sensitivity and scenario analyses are performed to identify the key parameters and actions needed to reach a positive NPV. For instance, increasing the amount of water treated per year to 90 m3 and assuming a 20 % increase in operation costs and a 60 % increase in construction costs can make the project socio-economically viable at the field scale, while a reduction in the social discount rate from a 4 % to a 2 % can lead to a positive NPV at the full scale. The approaches proposed in this work may be useful for practitioners and policymakers when evaluating the environmental and socio-economic impacts of bioremediation technologies at different scales and regions, as well as human health impacts caused by contaminants at the current legal limits.This research has received funding from the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union's Horizon 2020 - Research and Innovation Framework Programme (Grant Agreement No. 826312) in the context of the GREENER project

    “El arte de aprender arte”: integrando la historia del arte en Educación Secundaria Obligatoria mediante el aprendizaje basado en proyectos

    La finalidad de este Trabajo Final de Máster es aplicar los conocimientos adquiridos durante el Máster Universitario de Profesor de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria y Bachillerato, Formación Profesional y Enseñanza de Idiomas. Con este propósito, se ha desarrollado una propuesta curricular para un curso académico completo, abordando la asignatura de Historia de 1º de E.S.O desde la perspectiva del Arte. En esta propuesta, el Arte se utiliza como hilo conductor a la hora de entender las causas que lo generaron, en contraste con el enfoque tradicional empleado en las aulas. El trabajo se estructura en nueve Situaciones de Aprendizaje, aunque esta memoria se centrará exclusivamente en la Situación nº 5, ya que fue la que se implementó durante las prácticas. La ejecución de la misma ha permitido obtener una serie de resultados y conclusiones que han sido fundamentales a la hora de evaluar la eficacia del tema planteado, así como del uso de la metodología activa del Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos (ABP), que fue la metodología aplicada en este contexto.The main objective if this Master´s Final Projects is to apply the acquired knowledge in the Master´s. For this purpose, a curricular proposal has been developed for a complete academic year, addressing the subject of History in 1st year of E.S.O from the perspective of Art. In this proposal, Art is used as a common thread to understand the causes that generated it, in contrast to the traditional approach used in classrooms. The project is structured in nine learning situations, although this report will focus exclusively on situation number 5, due to the fact it was the one that was implemented during our teaching training. Its execution has allowed us to obtain a series of results and conclusions that have been fundamental to evaluate the effectiveness of the topic raised, as well as the use of the active methodology of Project Based Learning (PBL), which was the methodology applied in this context

    Explicit implementation of hydrogen transport in metals

    Hydrogen embrittlement prediction demands a numerical framework coupling a damage model with local hydrogen concentration. The inherent nonlinearity in hydrogen-stress-damage interactions challenges convergence in implicit schemes. To address this limitation, we propose a novel chemical potential-based explicit formulation for simulating hydrogen transport in metals. Our approach exploits a heat transfer analogy, linking mechanical and hydrogen transport via inelastic energy as a heat source. By employing chemical potential rather than lattice concentration, our method eliminates the need for user-defined boundary conditions and hydrostatic stress gradient determination. We integrate a VUMATHT subroutine for diffusion modelling and a VUMAT subroutine for material behaviour, coupling stress and strain rates as a heat source for diffusion. Validating against a classical benchmark, we compare our explicit approach with hydrogen concentration-based methods in ABAQUS Standard and Comsol Multiphysics. Stability conditions are assessed for different mesh sizes and mass scaling densities and the capabilities of our approach are showcased for 3D simulations of notched tensile specimens. Our framework offers a novel and efficient pathway for integrating hydrogen transport with user-defined material behaviour, promising advancements in hydrogen-informed damage models.The authors gratefully acknowledge funding from projects PID2021-124768OB-C21 and TED2021-130413B-I00.     Effect of smartphone addiction on compulsive app downloading tendency: protective factors for generation Z consumers

    Purpose: This study aims to focus on how smartphone addiction impacts young consumer behavior related to mobile technology (i.e. the compulsive app downloading tendency). After a thorough literature review and following the risk and protective factors framework, this study explores factors that could mitigate its effects (resilience, family harmony, perceived social support and social capital). Design/methodology/approach: The study used the covariance-based structural equation modeling approach to analyze data collected from 275 Generation Z (Gen Z) smartphone users in Spain. Findings: Results suggest that resilience is a critical factor in preventing smartphone addiction, and smartphone addiction boosts the compulsive app downloading tendency, a relevant downside for younger Gen Z consumers. Originality/value: Through the lens of the risk and protective factors framework, this study focuses on protective factors to prevent smartphone addiction and its negative side effects on app consumption. It also offers evidence of younger consumers’ vulnerability to smartphone addiction, not because of the device itself but because of app-consumption-related behaviors
