    El Síndrome del Impostor, entendido en esta investigación como un conjunto de experiencias relacionadas con sentimientos de fraudulencia intelectual procedentes de una insuficiencia autoimpuesta que distorsiona el autoconcepto, está presente en el sistema educativo. Y, es que, estas experiencias impostoras no son ajenas a la realidad de muchos docentes en sus primeros años de desempeño profesional. Y, aunque hay quienes pueden pensar que es un hecho transitorio que se solventa con la experiencia, tiene efectos perniciosos tanto para el docente impostor como para el proceso de aprendizaje de su alumnado. Es por ello que esta investigación de naturaleza cualitativa se propone indagar en las percepciones de las imposturas docentes e identificar posibles factores detonantes y consecuencias en el proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje. Todo ello con la finalidad de problematizar este Síndrome del Impostor en docentes principiantes para visibilizar los efectos que de él derivan y, de este modo, establecer un marco de conocimiento útil para allanar el camino a posibles estrategias de actuación y solución.The Imposter Syndrome, understood in this research as a set of experiences related to feelings of intellectual fraud derived from a self-imposed insufficiency that distorts the concept of oneself, is present in the educational system. However, these impostor experiences are not unknown for teachers in their first years of professional performance. And, although there are many people who may think that it is temporary and goes away with experience, it has harmful effects on both the imposter teacher and the student's learning process. This is why the aim of this qualitative natural research is to investigate the perceptions of teaching impostures and identify possible triggering factors and consequences in the teachinglearning process. And so, the purpose is to problematize this Imposter Syndrome in novice teachers to shed light on the effects that arise and, in this way, establish a useful knowledge framework that opens a path towards possible action and solution strategies

    A Virtual Reality Environment Based on Infrared Thermography for the Detection of Multiple Faults in Kinematic Chains

    Kinematic chains are crucial in numerous industrial settings, playing a key role in various processes. Over recent years, several methods have been developed to monitor and maintain these systems effectively. One notable method is the analysis of infrared thermal images, which serves as a non-invasive and effective approach for identifying various electromechanical issues. Additionally, Virtual Reality (VR) is a burgeoning technology that, despite its limited use in industrial contexts, offers a cost-effective and accessible solution for the training and education of industrial workers on specialized engineering subjects. Nevertheless, most virtual environments are based on numerical simulations. This paper presents the design and development of a Virtual Reality training module for the detection of fourteen electromechanical fault cases in a kinematic chain. The VR training tool developed is based on actual thermographic data derived from experiments conducted on an authentic kinematic chain. During these experiments, thermal images were captured using an low-cost infrared sensor. The thermographic images were processed by calculating the histogram and fifteen statistical indicators, which served to differentiate fault cases in the VR application. A comprehensive evaluation was carried out with a group of vocational students specialized in electrical and automation installations to determine the effectiveness and practicality of the VR training module.This research has been partially supported by Banco Santander under the scholarship program Santander Iberoamérica Research 2019/20.     Plan de difusión y divulgación del patrimonio cultural de Sasamón (Burgos): época prerromana y romana

    Con este trabajo hemos intentado buscar las mejores propuestas posibles para difundir la historia y el patrimonio cultural de Edad Antigua del municipio de Sasamón, una pequeña localidad de aproximadamente 1000 habitantes a 30 kilómetros al oeste de la ciudad de Burgos. En el territorio que abarca el término municipal de Sasamón hubo en la antigüedad 2 importantes núcleos de población, primero en la II Edad del Hierro (siglos V-I a.C.), el oppidum turmogo de Segisama, que será abandonado a finales del siglo I a.C.-principios del siglo I d.C. por la ciudad romana de Segisama Iulia, sucesora del campamento base de Segisamo en las guerras cántabras (29-19 a.C.). A pesar de la existencia de estos antiguos poblamientos, a nuestros días nos ha llegado muy poca información sobre este pasado. Esto se debe a diversas causas: a la mala conservación del patrimonio, a la reutilización de los materiales de la Edad Antigua durante la Edad Media, al desconocimiento de la historia por parte de la sociedad… Pero en los últimos años se ha producido un auge sobre el pasado antiguo de Sasamón, tanto a nivel sociocultural (con la fiesta celta de Olmillos o la recreación romana de Sasamón) como a nivel académico (con las investigaciones y excavaciones de RomanArmy en el Cerro Castarreño y alrededores en busca de campamentos militares romanos), lo que ha propiciado que Sasamón aparezca en la prensa, ilustrando a Segisama y Segisama Iulia. Esta circunstancia pensamos que se debe aprovechar como reclamo turístico. Es por ello por lo que en nuestro trabajo ofrecemos unas aportaciones que pueden ser complementadas a las acciones que ya están elaborando en el Ayuntamiento de Sasamón.With this work we have tried to find the best possible proposals to disseminate the history and cultural heritage of the Ancient Age of the municipality of Sasamón, a small town of approximately 1000 inhabitants 30 kilometres west of the city of Burgos. In the territory covered by the municipality of Sasamón there were two important population centres in ancient times, first in the 2nd Iron Age (5th-1st centuries BC), the Turmogoth oppidum of Segisama, which was abandoned at the end of the 1st century BC-beginning of the 1st century AD by the Roman city of Segisama Iulia, the successor to the base camp of Segisamo in the Cantabrian wars (29-19 BC). Despite the existence of these ancient settlements, very little information about this past has come down to us. This is due to various causes: por heritage conservation, the reuse of materials from the Ancient Ages during the Middle Ages, society’s lack of knowledge of history… But in recent years there has been a boom in the ancient past of Sasamón, both at a socio-cultural level (with the Celtic festival of Olmillos or the Roman recreation of Sasamón) and at an academic level (with the research and excavations of RomanArmy in the Cerro Castarreño and surrounding área in search of Roman military camps), which has led to Sasamón appearing in the press, illustrating Segisama and Segisama Iulia. We believe that this circumstance should be used as a tourist attraction. For this reason, our work offers some contributions that can be complemented with the actions that are already being developed in the Sasamón Town Council

    Diseño, desarrollo y evaluación de la usabilidad de IndagApp: un recurso TIC para la enseñanza de las ciencias basada en la indagación

    Las reformas educativas en España demandan la adopción de la indagación y el uso de las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (TIC) para la enseñanza de las ciencias. No obstante, esto supone un reto para los docentes, que carecen de recursos específicamente diseñados para facilitar su transposición didáctica. La presente tesis doctoral aborda esta problemática, debido a que presenta el diseño, desarrollo y evaluación de la usabilidad de IndagApp, un innovador recurso TIC que incluye diez secuencias didácticas por indagación, laboratorios virtuales específicamente diseñados para su desarrollo, estrategias de andamiaje digitales y analógicas y, actividades que cubren las fases del proceso indagatorio sugeridas en la literatura especializada. El marco metodológico utilizado es de métodos mixtos multifase y está comprendido por cuatro estudios independientes pero conexos. El primer estudio es de tipo cuantitativo y evalúa la disponibilidad y uso de las TIC, así como la formación del profesorado en este ámbito en España. Esta investigación revela una escasa disponibilidad de recursos TIC, una deficiente formación para su uso y una baja aceptación de estos para enseñar ciencias. El segundo estudio, de método mixto convergente, introduce el primer prototipo de IndagApp que alcanza niveles aceptables de usabilidad entre profesorado universitario y docentes en ejercicio, aunque también identifica áreas susceptibles de mejora. El tercer estudio, también de método mixto convergente, presenta el segundo prototipo de IndagApp y su usabilidad entre maestros de educación primaria en formación inicial, alcanzando altos niveles de usabilidad, a pesar de que aún hay margen para su optimización. Finalmente, el cuarto estudio, de tipo cuantitativo, muestra la versión final de IndagApp, en la cual se incorporan todas las mejoras sugeridas previamente. En esta última investigación se evalúa la usabilidad de la app entre estudiantes de educación primaria, consiguiendo resultados excelentes. En definitiva, esta tesis doctoral aporta un recurso educativo que contribuye a reducir la brecha entre las exigencias curriculares y la disponibilidad de recursos apropiados para una educación científica basada en la indagación.The educational reforms in Spain demand the adoption of inquiry and the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for science teaching. However, this represents a challenge for teachers, who lack resources specifically designed to facilitate its didactic transposition. This Ph.D. dissertation addresses this issue, presenting the design, development, and evaluation of the usability of IndagApp, an innovative ICT resource that includes ten inquiry units, virtual laboratories specifically designed for their development, digital and analog scaffolding strategies, and activities that cover all the phases of the inquiry process suggested in the specialized literature. The adopted methodological framework is multi-phase mixed methods, comprising four independent but related studies. The first study, using a quantitative design, evaluates the availability and use of ICT, as well as teacher training in Spain, revealing a scarce availability of resources, poor training in their use, and low adoption of ICT for science teaching. The second study, using a convergent mixed method design, introduces the first prototype of IndagApp, achieving acceptable levels of usability among university faculty and in-service teachers, although it identified areas susceptible to improvement. The third study, using a convergent mixed method design, presents the improved second prototype of IndagApp and its usability among primary education teachers in initial training, reaching high levels of usability, albeit with room for optimization. The fourth study, using a quantitative design, presents the final version of IndagApp, incorporating the previously suggested improvements and evaluating its usability in primary school students, with outstanding results.     La serie televisiva Detective Touré como ejemplo de personajes no racializados en la televisión pública y su efectiva responsabilidad social

    Introducción: Los protagonistas de las ficciones audiovisuales deben reflejar la sociedad multirracial en la que se producen, evitando la racialización de los personajes. En este sentido, la serie Detective Touré (2024), producida por las televisiones públicas española y vasca, se convierte en un hito en el audiovisual español al convertir en protagonista a un personaje de color. Metodología: Se analiza la serie Detective Touré, así como la evolución de la presencia de intérpretes de raza no caucásica en los largometrajes nominados en los Premios Goya desde su inicio. Resultados: La serie estudiada ejemplifica el largo camino por recorrer para que el audiovisual integre a todas las etnias que componen la ciudadanía española, así como se muestra el escaso reconocimiento e inclusión de personajes representativos en el cine español. Discusión: La producción audiovisual, particularmente la generada desde la televisión pública, debe evitar la simplificación del discurso sobre la población inmigrante para ajustarse a la legalidad y a sus objetivos de Responsabilidad Social Corporativa. Conclusiones: Propuestas novedosas como la serie Detective Touré inciden en la necesaria evolución del diseño de los personajes audiovisuales para reflejar la realidad social española, mostrando las carencias históricas existentes en este sentido.Introduction: The protagonists of audiovisual fictions should reflect the multiracial society in which they are produced, avoiding the racialisation of the characters. In this sense, the series Detective Touré(2024),produced by the Spanish and Basque public television channels,has become a milestone in the Spanish audiovisual industry by making a character of colour as the protagonist.Methodology:The series Detective Touréis analysed, as well as the evolution of the presence of non-Caucasian actors in feature films nominated for the Goya Awards since its inception.Results:The series studied exemplifies the long way to go for the audiovisual to integrate all the ethnic groups that make up the Spanish citizens, as well as showing the scarce recognition and inclusion of representative characters in Spanish cinema. Discussion: Audiovisual production, particularly that generated by public television, must avoid simplifying the discourse on the immigrant population in order to comply with the law and its Corporate Social Responsibility objectives. Conclusions: Innovative proposals such as the series Detective Touré have an impact on the necessary evolution of the design of audiovisual characters to reflect the Spanish social reality, showing the existing historical shortcomings in this regard

    Tuning pH-dependent cytotoxicity in cancer cells by peripheral fluorine substitution on pseudopeptidic cages

    The acidic microenvironment of solid tumors is a potential source of selectivity in the anti-cancer activity of ionophores, which requires delicate control of their biophysical properties. In this context, we have systematically studied fluorine substitutions in the aromatic side chains of HCl-binding pseudopeptidic cages. Interconnected factors like chloride binding, protonation, lipophilicity, and conformation and diffusiveness of the cages can impact their ability to transport HCl through the aqueous-lipid interphase, as demonstrated by robust experimental (X-ray, nuclear magnetic resonance [NMR], fluorescence) and theoretical results. The fine-tuning of these properties allows the modulation of their pH-dependent cytotoxicity against cancer cells, from essentially non-cytotoxic at pH 7.5 (like the extracellular surroundings of healthy tissues) to highly toxic in slightly acidic microenvironments (like those around solid tumors). El presente trabajo estudia el conjunto de medidas implementadas por la Unión Europea en favor del desarrollo sostenible y contra el blanqueo ecológico en el marco del Pacto Verde Europeo, en orden a la consecución de una vida digna para todos dentro de los límites del planeta que concilie la prosperidad económica y la eficiencia, las sociedades pacíficas, la inclusión social y la responsabilidad medioambiental.Sustainability has become an important priority of the European Union, due to growing awareness of environmental and social challenges.     Evaluation of a green pressurized reaction media (subW-CO2) and pressurized microwave-assisted reaction for furfural production from corn stover and its derivatives sugars

    Póster presentado en: EIFS2024, 3er Encuentro Ibérico de Fluidos Supercríticos = Third Iberian Meeting on Supercritical Fluids = 3º Encontro Ibérico de Fluidos Supercríticos, 22-24 de julio, Ourense, Spain.Corn stover is a highly produced agricultural waste worldwide, accounting with more than 1 billion tons per year [2]. Corn stover is a lignocellulosic biomass, so its main fractions are cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. This composition makes of corn stover an ideal biomass for the production of value-added chemicals, highlighting in this work the production of furfural. Furfural (C5H4O2), is an aromatic aldehyde obtained by the hydrolysis of pentoses through their subsequent dehydration. It is a versatile chemical with many applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical or fuel industries. For its production from lignocellulosic biomass, the pentoses present in its hemicellulose fraction first need to be hydrolized into their monomeric form, and then follow their conversion into furfural. To increase furfural yield and selectivity in this reaction, different catalysts and organic solvents are usually added. These techniques are pollutant agents for the environment, and should be replaced. In this work, two green technologies were proposed for the production of furfural from xylose and corn stover. The first one was a green, organic solvent-free, subcritical water-CO2 (subW-CO2) system. Under subcritical conditions, the water acquires new properties, such as an increase of its ionic product, giving the water acidic and basic catalyst properties [3]. However, to optimize furfural production, CO2 was selected as the pressurizing agent due to its Brønsted acid effect after its dissolution in water as carbonic acid. Brønsted acids have shown to promote xylose and its isomers dehydration into furfural [4]. To further improve furfural production, the addition of CrCl3, which acts as Lewis acid, was tested. The results were promising, with no catalyst, a furfural yield of 41 % was obtained when treating xylose, showing the potential of the subW system itself for furfural generation. When adding CrCl3, the yield increased to 50 % after 1.7 hour treatment at 180 °C (Figure 1). Corn stover was treated under the same conditions, although in this case it only achieved a 25 % furfural yield. The second tested technology was a microwave system. In this case, xylose and corn stover with CrCl3 were added into the pressure vessels. The addition of the Lewis acid catalyst played a key role in MW treatments. When no catalyst was added, a maximum furfural yield of 8 % was reached after 25 minutes at 180 °C, while it was 30 % when CrCl3 was added, proving the effect that CO2, and therefore Brønsted acids present for furfural production. Corn stover also showed a much lower furfural yield in MW, achieving a 15 % after a 90 minutes treatment. Comparing both technologies at 180 °C (Figure 1), it is possible to observe how both xylose and corn stover show same furfural yield values between the two technologies at a fixed treatment time of 40 minutes. However, when time increases, furfural yield is further increased in the subW system samples in a greater extent than in the MW ones. After treating xylose and corn stover, side reactions took place, being the main byproducts lactic, acetic, and formic acids. The concentration of these byproducts was higher in the MW treated samples, highlighting lactic acid, which concentration was 10 times more in the MW assisted reaction than in the subW system in the case of xylose. Therefore, the selectivity towards furfural when treating xylose or lignocellulosic biomass was higher in the subW-CO2, and therefore, it can be concluded that the presence of a Brønsted acid, in this case carbonic acid produced from CO2, significantly affects to the selectivity of the reaction to furfural, and consequently, to its yield.
