    Normativity and sustainability reporting regulation

    No full text
This chapter introduces the transition from a voluntary to a mandatory sustainability reporting regime. It briefly discusses the lifecycle and conditions required for the emergence of norms (i.e., practices considered binding) around sustainability reporting regulation. The chapter presents the paradigmatic case of the European Union Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive to assess whether a norm can emerge in this setting. For this purpose, students must discuss the extent to which they consider the Directive as integrated within a coherent regulatory framework that aligns with previous practices and possesses sufficient clarity to reflect on whether the changes it introduces in sustainability reporting practices can be considered legitimate enough to be internalized by companies

Exploring the evolution and future research on sustainability in franchising: a systematic review of the literature

    No full text
The purpose is to analyze the evolution of knowledge of the sustainability–franchise relationship through a systematic literature review (SLR) for the period 2000–2023. This study focuses on an SLR of the sustainability–franchise relationship of 76 articles selected from the Web of Science and Scopus databases. Sustainability in the field of franchising is still a nascent research topic, and existing studies have mainly focused on the social and economic dimensions, with the environmental dimension receiving less attention. The novelty of this work focuses on the analysis of the sustainability– franchise relationship, because sustainability has become a necessary strategy to ensure the long-term operation of the company and open investment opportunities, and because the franchise as a distribution channel participating in the value chain of companies and as a business model is not alien to sustainability

The present Final Degree Project focuses on the study and approach of dyscalculia, a specific learning disorder that affects the development of mathematical skills. After a theoretical review of its definition, characteristics, conceptual evolution, and neurological implications, the work primarily aims at a practical proposal for individualized educational intervention applied to a student diagnosed with dyscalculia. The designed intervention responds to the principles of inclusive education and is based on the use of adapted teaching materials and self-made resources, carefully selected to meet her specific needs and promote meaningful learning. One of the most outstanding achievements of the process has been the notable progress observed in solving mathematical problems, resulting from an increase in the student's motivation towards the resources used, especially those with a manipulative, visual, and interactive approach. These materials not only facilitated the understanding of the content but also contributed to reinforcing her academic self-esteem and her active involvement in learning. This project demonstrates the importance of specific and motivating interventions to overcome learning barriers and promote the comprehensive development of all students, especially those with greater difficulties

A Fragmented Archive: Reconstruction of the Creative Process of the Spanish Architect Antonio Fernández Alba

    No full text
Antonio Fernández Alba (Salamanca 1927-Ma- drid 2024) is one of the main Spanish architects of the 20th century. The archive created by this architect reveals the diverse dimensions of his professional career as an architect, artist, intel- lectual and professor at the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Madrid. To delve deeper into his graphic and documen- tary legacy is is a huge and complex task due to the extensive architectural output projected over more than sixty years. During the last years of his professional career, Antonio Fernández Alba made successive donations of the graphic materi- al from his studio to different institutions follow- ing a criterion of trust, but without carrying out a prior planning to guarantee the documentary unity of each project. Nowadays, his archive is dispersed through the Spanish architectural col- lections of the Museum of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, the National Library of Spain, the Association of Architects of Madrid, the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Madrid, and the architectural collection of the Centre Pompidou in Paris. The aim of this paper is to reconstruct the cre¬ative itinerary of three projects through the dif¬ferent collections where his legacy is currently deposited. For this purpose, three representative projects of his creative stages have been select¬ed: the Amsterdam City Hall Competition (1967), the Restoration of the Astronomical Observatory of Madrid (1975) and the Faculty of Law of the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid (1987). Tracing the graphic material donated by the ar¬chitect to different archives will allow us to iden¬tify the drawings that belong to each of these projects, document them, and reconstruct their creative process also relying on the texts that are also part of his legacy
