Modul VI.1. Psihomotorni razvoj
Psychomotor development can be seen as a continuous process from conception to
maturity. It is therefore a continuous development of the ability to perform a series of
bodily movements and actions, as well as the mental and conscious representation of these
movements and actions, which in the early stages of life are of capital importance for an
individual’s development. This development takes place in the first weeks of life, following
various laws and principles.
The development of the different psychomotor skills can be grouped for study into four
conditions: 1) muscle tone and postural control; 2) locomotion motor skills; 3)
manipulative motor skills; 4) graphic motor skills.

Razvoj različitih psihomotornih vještina može se, za potrebe proučavanja, podijeliti u četiri skupine: 1) napetost mišića i upravljanje držanjem tijela; 2) mišićno-koštane motoričke vještine; 3) motoričke vještine rukovanja; 4) grafomotorika.“Specialized and updated training on supporting advance technologies for early childhood education and care professionals and graduates”, eEarlyCare-T, reference 2021-1-ES01-KA220-SCH-000032661, is co-financed by the European Union's Erasmus+ programme, line KA220 Strategic Partnerships Scholar associations
Acoustic Noise-Based Detection of Ferroresonance Events in Isolated Neutral Power Systems with Inductive Voltage Transformers
Power-quality events and operation transients in power systems (PS) with isolated neutral
can saturate inductive voltage transformers (IVT), which, when interacting with the overhead and
underground cable capacitances, can cause ferroresonance events in the local PS. This abnormal
operating mode can partially or totally damage the transformers and switchgears within the affected
PS. Distribution system operators (DSO) can minimize these effects by detecting ferroresonance events
accurately and fast enough and changing the mode of operation accordingly. Direct detection methods,
i.e., based on voltage measurements, are reliable, but the massive deployment of this solution is
relatively expensive; i.e., power quality analyzers cost thousands of USD. Alternatively, indirect
detection methods are also available, e.g., IVT vibration measurements with accelerometers costing
hundreds of USD, but their reliability depends on the installation method used. This manuscript
proposes using the acoustic noise caused by magnetostriction forces within the IVT core during
ferroresonance events to detect their occurrence. Compared to other indirect methods, electret
condenser microphones with preamplifying stage cost less than USD 10 and are less sensitive to
the installation procedure. The proposed method is validated experimentally, and its performance
compared to IVT vibration measurements one by using the same detection methodology. This work was partially financed by the EU Regional Development Fund (FEDER) and the Spanish Government under RETOS-COLABORACION RTC-2017-6782-3, the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation under project PID2021-128941OB-I00, and by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement No. 864579 (FLEXIGRID)
Adequacy of an Altitude Fitness Program (Living and Training) plus Intermittent Exposure to Hypoxia for Improving Hematological Biomarkers and Sports Performance of Elite Athletes: A Single-Blind Randomized Clinical Trial
Athletes incorporate altitude training programs into their conventional training to improve
their performance. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of an 8-week altitude
training program that was supplemented with intermittent hypoxic training (IHE) on the blood
biomarkers, sports performance, and safety profiles of elite athletes. In a single-blind randomized
clinical trial that followed the CONSORT recommendations, 24 male athletes were randomized to
an IHE group (HA, n = 12) or an intermittent normoxia group (NA, n = 12). The IHE consisted
of 5-min cycles of hypoxia–normoxia with an FIO2 of between 10–13% for 90 min every day for
8 weeks. Hematological (red blood cells, hemoglobin, hematocrit, hematocrit, reticulated hemoglobin,
reticulocytes, and erythropoietin), immunological (leukocytes, monocytes, and lymphocytes), and
renal (urea, creatinine, glomerular filtrate, and total protein) biomarkers were assessed at the baseline
(T1), day 28 (T2), and day 56 (T3). Sports performance was evaluated at T1 and T3 by measuring
quadriceps strength and using three-time trials over the distances of 60, 400, and 1000 m on an
athletics track. Statistically significant increases (p < 0.05) in erythropoietin, reticulocytes, hemoglobin,
and reticulocyte hemoglobin were observed in the HA group at T3 with respect to T1 and the NA
group. In addition, statistically significant improvements (p < 0.05) were achieved in all performance
tests. No variations were observed in the immunological or renal biomarkers. The athletes who were
living and training at 1065 m and were supplemented with IHE produced significant improvements
in their hematological behavior and sports performance with optimal safety profiles
Kinetic Modeling, Thermodynamic Approach and Molecular Dynamics Simulation of Thermal Inactivation of Lipases from Burkholderia cepacia and Rhizomucor miehei
The behavior against temperature and thermal stability of enzymes is a topic of importance
for industrial biocatalysis. This study focuses on the kinetics and thermodynamics of the thermal
inactivation of Lipase PS from B. cepacia and Palatase from R. miehei. Thermal inactivation was
investigated using eight inactivation models at a temperature range of 40–70 ◦C. Kinetic modeling
showed that the first-order model and Weibull distribution were the best equations to describe
the residual activity of Lipase PS and Palatase, respectively. The results obtained from the kinetic
parameters, decimal reduction time (D and tR), and temperature required (z and z’) indicated a higher
thermal stability of Lipase PS compared to Palatase. The activation energy values (Ea) also indicated
that higher energy was required to denature bacterial (34.8 kJ mol−1
) than fungal (23.3 kJ mol−1
)
lipase. The thermodynamic inactivation parameters, Gibbs free energy (∆G#
), entropy (∆S
#
), and
enthalpy (∆H#
) were also determined. The results showed a ∆G#
for Palatase (86.0–92.1 kJ mol−1
)
lower than for Lipase PS (98.6–104.9 kJ mol−1
), and a negative entropic and positive enthalpic
contribution for both lipases. A comparative molecular dynamics simulation and structural analysis
at 40 ◦C and 70 ◦C were also performed
Executive Functions in Children and Adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Family and School Environment
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by the
presence of difficulties in communication and social interaction, often associated with deficits in
executive functions (EF). The EF correct development is related to a more effective functioning in
all its daily activities, while being associated with more efficient social relations. The objective of
this research is to analyze the level of development of EF in children and adolescents with ASD in
school and at home. This is a descriptive, cross-sectional, and multicenter study with 102 participants
selected by non-probabilistic sampling, 32 parents of children with ASD, and 70 professionals
in the field of education of students with ASD. The study confirms that although children and
adolescents with ASD have problems in executive functioning, the perception of informants, parents,
and education professionals is similar but not the same in the different contexts: school and home
Activity-Oriented Antiedema Proprioceptive Therapy (TAPA) for Shoulder Mobility Improvement in Women with Upper Limb Lymphedema Secondary to Breast Cancer: A Multicenter Controlled Clinical Trial
Lymphedema, secondary to breast cancer (BCRL), is the abnormal accumulation of protein-rich fluid in the interstitium caused by a malfunction of the lymphatic system. It causes
swelling, deficiencies in upper limb functions and structures, sensory pain and emotional alterations,
which have a chronic course and affect the upper limb’s functionality. This study aims to verify the
efficacy and efficiency in the upper limb´s functionality of a protocolized experimental approach
based on occupational therapy, TAPA (activity-oriented proprioceptive antiedema therapy), in the
rehabilitation of BCRL in stages I and II, comparing it with the conservative treatment considered
as the standard, complex decongestive therapy (CDT), through a multicenter randomized clinical
trial. The study has been financed in the call for competitive competition of research and innovation projects in the field of Primary Care, Regional Hospitals and High Resolution Hospital Centers of the Public Health System of Andalusia for the year 2021, of the Andalusian Public Foundation Progress and Health, according to the definitive list of funded projects, published on 23 December 2021, with EXP. No.: AP-0160-2021-C2-F2, also in the call for “Grants for research projects in Occupational Therapy. Call 2020”, granted by the Professional Association of Occupational Therapists of Extremadura (COPTOEX), Spain and, in 2020, received an economic contribution from the Research Group in Primary Health Care of Aragon (GAIAP-B21-17R group)
Student satisfaction with online teaching in times of COVID-19
Higher education is one of the driving forces behind the social and economic development of countries, with the ultimate aim of providing quality academic training. At present, teaching-learning models in virtual environments face a number of important challenges, particularly in the current situation caused by COVID-19. Some of these challenges will be addressed in this study. We worked with 225 third-year undergraduate students in health science degrees over two academic years during the pandemic. The objectives were: (1) to ascertain whether there were significant differences in student satisfaction with the teaching process in the first year of the pandemic (e-learning teaching) vs. the second year (b-learning teaching); (2) to determine whether there were significant differences in academic performance between the two groups. Quantitative research (using a 2x2 factorial design, ANOVA and ANCOVA) and qualitative research (using a comparative design with categorisation analysis) were carried out. The results indicate differences in some aspects of satisfaction and learning outcomes in favour of teaching in the second of the two years. Students rated the use of active methodologies and technological resources positively, although they concluded that their use required more work time. Future studies will seek to compare student satisfaction in other areas of knowledge
In search of the roots of corporate reputation management: Being a consistent corporate social performer
Corporate social performance (CSP) has received a particularly high share of attention as one of the main determinants of corporate reputation. However, few studies have tested the extent to which the relationship between CSP and corporate reputation may be affected by industry, country, or other context-related variables. Besides, some conceptual thinking suggests that the impact of CSP on corporate reputation may vary according to the level of consistency of a firm's behaviors. However, this view has not been empirically addressed. For this reason, the main objective of this study is to explore the impact of consistency in CSP management on corporate reputation. Specifically, we analyze both the effect of CSP internal consistency (or consistency between environmental and social performance) and CSP consistency over time on corporate reputation. The results based on data from an international sample of 133 companies for the period 2011 to 2016, support either CSP internal consistency or CSP consistency over time (positive increment of CSP over time) positively affecting corporate reputation. The results also confirm the moderation effect of CSP internal consistency on the relationship between CSP and corporate reputation. These results reveal that consistency in social responsibility management helps a firm to consolidate its corporate reputation.Open access publication thanks to the University of Burgos
