Glasius bio-inspired neural networks based UV-C disinfection path planning improved by preventive deadlock processing algorithm
The COVID-19 pandemic made robot manufacturers explore the idea of combining mobile robotics with UV-C
light to automate the disinfection processes. But performing this process in an optimum way introduces some
challenges: on the one hand, it is necessary to guarantee that all surfaces receive the radiation level to ensure
the disinfection; at the same time, it is necessary to minimize the radiation dose to avoid the damage of the
environment. In this work, both challenges are addressed with the design of a complete coverage path planning
(CCPP) algorithm. To do it, a novel architecture that combines the glasius bio-inspired neural network (GBNN),
a motion strategy, an UV-C estimator, a speed controller, and a pure pursuit controller have been designed.
One of the main issues in CCPP is the deadlocks. In this application they may cause a loss of the operation, lack
of regularity and high peaks in the radiation dose map, and in the worst case, they can make the robot to get
stuck and not complete the disinfection process. To tackle this problem, in this work we propose a preventive
deadlock processing algorithm (PDPA) and an escape route generator algorithm (ERGA). Simulation results
show how the application of PDPA and the ERGA allow to complete complex maps in an efficient way where
the application of GBNN is not enough. Indeed, a 58% more of covered surface is observed. Furthermore, two
different motion strategies have been compared: boustrophedon and spiral motion, to check its influence on
the performance of the robot navigation
Smart Polymers for Food and Water Quality Control and Safety
A large number of annual cases of diseases and deaths related to spoiled or contaminated food,
and the amount of food waste are a matter of socio-economic impact, highlighting the need for
a fast, easy, cheap, available, and real-time determination of food quality and safety. To ensure
this, physical and chemical food quality indicators such as humidity, temperature, gases, pH,
microorganisms, pesticides, etc., should be controlled and monitored during production,
transportation, storage, and consumption. In this sense, smart polymers are raised as useful
tools to facilitate this task. These polymers are sensitive to variations in the microenvironment,
modifying their properties and/or generating a response that can be measured. Due to their
versatility, these materials can be part of the food packaging to inform the consumers or be
used as a measuring tool to determine the state of the food. This chapter envisaged the concept
of smart polymers, the types, and their main applications for determining food quality and

Sexual Risk Behavior, Sexism, and Prejudices Towards Sexual Openness, Homosexuality, and Trans Individuals Among Young People in Spain and the UK
Sexism, lack of sexual freedom, and negative attitudes towards minorities are related to risky and discriminatory
sexual behaviors. To date, no cross-cultural comparisons have been made regarding these sexual behaviors and attitudes. The
study also explores the sexuality competencies of young adults undertaking vocational courses in higher education before
their transition to professional practice
1,2-Azolylamidino ruthenium(ii) complexes with DMSO ligands: electro- and photocatalysts for CO2 reduction
New 1,2-azolylamidino complexes fac-[RuCl(DMSO)3(NH[double bond, length as m-dash]C(R)az*-κ2N,N)]OTf [R = Me (2), Ph (3); az* = pz (pyrazolyl, a), indz (indazolyl, b)] are synthesized via chloride abstraction from their corresponding precursors cis,fac-[RuCl2(DMSO)3(az*H)] (1) after subsequent base-catalyzed coupling of the appropriate nitrile with the 1,2-azole previously coordinated. All the compounds are characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and IR spectroscopy. Those derived from MeCN are also characterized by X-ray diffraction. Electrochemical studies showed several reduction waves in the range of −1.5 to −3 V. The electrochemical behavior in CO2 media is consistent with CO2 electrocatalytic reduction. The catalytic activity expressed as [icat(CO2)/ip(Ar)] ranged from 1.7 to 3.7 for the 1,2-azolylamidino complexes at voltages of ca. −2.7 to −3 V vs. ferrocene/ferrocenium. Controlled potential electrolysis showed rapid decomposition of the Ru catalysts. Photocatalytic CO2 reduction experiments using compounds 1b, 2b and 3b carried out in a CO2-saturated MeCN/TEOA (4 : 1 v/v) solution containing a mixture of the catalyst and [Ru(bipy)3]2+ as the photosensitizer under continuous irradiation (light intensity of 150 mW cm−2 at 25 °C, λ > 300 nm) show that compounds 1b, 2b and 3b allowed CO2 reduction catalysis, producing CO and trace amounts of formate. (asunto C‐699/21: E.D.L.), que tiene por objeto una petición de decisión prejudicial planteada por la Corte
Costituzionale en el procedimiento relativo a la ejecución de una orden de detención europea (en adelante
ODE). El enfoque principal de esta sentencia se dirige al examen del riesgo que la salud de la persona
buscada corra un peligro manifiesto. En este comentario, se aborda la justificación de la suspensión
temporal de la persona buscada y las circunstancias en las que la entrega de dicha persona puede generar
un riesgo de trato inhumano o degradante que no pueda ser descartado en un plazo razonable. En caso de
presentarse esta última situación, la autoridad encargada de la ejecución de la orden de detención no podrá
llevar a cabo dicha ejecución.This paper analyses the judgment of the Court of Justice, Grand Chamber, of 18 April 2023 (Case
C‐699/21: E.D.L.) concerning a reference for a preliminary ruling from the Corte Costituzionale
(Constitutional Court, Italy) in proceedings concerning the execution of a European Arrest Warrant. The
judgment in question concerns, in particular, the risk that the health of the requested person is manifestly
endangered. This commentary addresses the justification for the temporary suspension of the person
sought and the circumstances in which the delivery of such person may pose a risk of inhuman or degrading
treatment that cannot be excluded within a reasonable period. In the event of the latter situation, the
authority responsible for executing the arrest warrant shall not be able to carry out such execution
Impact of psychological and structural factors on radicalization processes: A multilevel analysis from the 3N model.
Most theories attempting to explain radicalization processes focus on
psychological and structural factors. However, the vast majority of empirical studies only
consider psychological or structural factors separately. Therefore, this research aims to
provide evidence of the relationship between psychological and structural factors in
