    Investigation of adaptation experiences of international students studying at international Mevlana Anatolian İmam Hatip high school

    Bu araştırmanın amacı, Uluslararası Mevlana Anadolu İmam Hatip Lisesinde öğrenim gören uluslararası öğrencilerin eğitsel, sosyal, kültürel ve dilsel faktörler açısından yaşamış oldukları deneyimleri inceleyerek, uyum durumlarını ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yaklaşımına dayalı olarak durum çalışması yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak görüşme, gözlem ve doküman inceleme teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubunu farklı ülkelerden gelen 20 uluslararası öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Yarı yapılandırılmış 11 soru ile mülakatlar gerçekleştirilmiş, okulda gerekli gözlemler yapılmış, gerekli dokümanlar incelenmiş ve elde edilen veriler analiz edilerek bulgular raporlaştırılmıştır. Uluslararası öğrencilerin uyum durumlarının incelendiği çalışmada elde edilen bulgular 7 temada bunlara bağlı 20 kategoride oluşmuştur. Ana temalar olarak tercih nedenleri, Türkiye hakkındaki düşünceleri, kültürel uyum durumları, sosyal uyum durumları, eğitim uyumu durumları, dil uyumu durumları, tavsiyeler ve beklentiler şeklindedir. Sonuç olarak öğrencilerin sosyal ve kültürel uyumları bütünleşme yaklaşımına uygun bir tutum içerisinde gerçekleşmiştir. Uluslararası öğrencilerin sosyal, kültürel, akademik ve dil uyumlarında çeşitli zorluk ve sorunlarla karşılaştıkları görülmüştür. Bu zorluk ve sorunların uyum durumlarını etkilediği sonucuna varılmıştır. Çalışma sonuçlandırılarak öğrencilerin uyum durumlarında karşılaştıkları zorluk, sorun ve öğrenci beklentileri dikkate alınarak birtakım önerilerde bulunulmuştur.The aim of this research is to reveal the adaptation status of international students by examining the experiences of international students studying at the International Mevlana Anatolian Imam-Hatip High School in terms of educational, social, cultural and linguistic factors. The case study method based on the qualitative research approach was used in the research. Interview, observation and document analysis techniques were used as data collection tools. The study group consists of 20 international students from different countries. Interviews were conducted with 11 semi-structured questions, necessary observations were made at the school, necessary documents were examined, and the data obtained were analyzed and the findings were reported. The findings obtained in the study examining the adjustment status of international students were formed in 7 themes and in 20 categories related to them. The main themes are the reasons for preference, their thoughts about Turkey, cultural adaptation situations, social adaptation situations, educational adaptation situations, language adaptation situations, recommendations and expectations. As a result, the social and cultural adaptation of the students was realized in an attitude suitable for the integration approach. It has been observed that international students face various difficulties and problems in their social, cultural, academic and language adaptation. It was concluded that these difficulties and problems affect their adjustment status. By concluding the study, some suggestions were made by taking into account the difficulties, problems and student expectations faced by the students in their adaptation situations

    Klormetiyazol’ün Partisyon Katsayısının Tahmin Edilmesi için Hesaplamalı Yöntemlerin Kıyaslama Çalışması

    The present study contains the evaluations of lipophilicity estimation, HOMO-LUMO analysis, and electrostatic surface properties of Chlormethiazole molecule by using quantum chemical calculation techniques. All geometrical optimizations, energy and frequency calculations were carried out with six different basis sets by choosing the Hartree-Fock (HF) method and two different Density Functional Theory (DFT) functionals B3LYP and B3PW91. All calculations were repeated for the water and n-octanol phases by using SMD solvation model in order to investigate the solvent effect and also to obtain the Gibbs free energies of solvation that help to estimate partition coefficients. As a result, among the applied theoretical methods, the best agreement with the experimental logP value was obtained with the HF/6-31G(d,p) method. Also, it is concluded that the forecast performance of the computational methods decreases in the following order: HF> B3LYP> B3PW91. © 2022, TUBITAK. All rights reserved

    Bonding surfaces with curve geometries and investigation of the mechanical properties

    Bu tez çalışmasında, sikloid, episikloid, evolvent ve 45 derece olmak üzere farklı eğri yüzey geometrilerine sahip deney numuneleri ve yapıştırıcı ara yüzeyi Solidworks programında modellenmiş ve bu modellerin yapıştırıcı ile birleştirmeleri yapılarak ANSYS programında çekme ve üç nokta eğme analizleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Daha sonra modellenen numuneler St 52 yapı çeliği kullanılarak CNC tel erezyon tezgahında imal edilmiş, yapıştırıcı türü olarak 3M markasına ait DP 8405 kullanılarak numuneler yapıştırılmıştır. Yapıştırılan bu eğri yüzeyli numuneler için, her bir deney için 3 set olmak üzere, çekme ve üç nokta eğme deney işlemleri uygulanmıştır. Sonlu elemanlar analizi esnasında, eğri yüzey geometrilerinden 45 derecenin hasar yükü bulunup, bu yük diğer eğri yüzey geometrilere sahip parçalar için de uygulanmıştır. Yapılan sonlu elemanlar analizleri neticesinde maksimum çekme ve maksimum eğme dayanımına sahip olan eğri yüzeyin, 45 derece eğri yüzey olduğu belirlenmiştir. Daha sonra yapılan deneysel çalışmalar da bu sonucu desteklemiştir. ANAHTAR KELİMELER: Eğri yüzeyler, yapıştırıcı, çekme analizi, üç nokta eğme analizi, sonlu elemanlar, hasar yüküIn this thesis, test specimens with different curved surface geometries such as cycloid, epicycloid, involute and 45 degrees, and the adhesive interface were modeled in Solidworks program, and these models were combined with adhesive and tensile and three-point bending analyzes were performed in ANSYS program. Then, the modeled samples were manufactured on a CNC wire erosion bench using St 52 structural steel, and the samples were adhered using DP 8405 of the 3M brand as the adhesive type. Tensile and three-point bending tests were applied for these bonded curved surface specimens, 3 sets for each test. During the finite element analysis, the damage load of 45 degrees from the curved surface geometries was found and this load was applied to the parts with other curved surface geometries. As a result of the finite element analysis, it was determined that the curved surface with the maximum tensile and maximum bending strength is a 45 degree curved surface.     Acute Effects of Self-Myofascial Release Through Foam Roller and Static Stretching Methods on Vertical Jump Performance of Taekwondo Players

    The objective of this research is to examine the acute effects of self-myofascial release through foam roller and static stretching methods on the vertical jump performance of taekwondo players. In this cross-sectional study, a randomized controlled experimental method, one of the quantitative research models, was used. 21 taekwondo players participated in this research voluntarily. The mean age of the participants was 15.95 +/-,865; the mean height was 172.90 +/- 3,846 and the mean body weight was 61,86 +/- 5,379. On the first day of the study, low-paced jogging was performed for 5 minutes at a heart rate of 120 (RS V800) and then their vertical jump performance was measured. On the second day of the research, low-paced jogging was performed for 5 minutes, and then a static stretching protocol was applied to taekwondo players, and then their vertical jump performance was measured. On the third day of the research, low-paced jogging was performed for 5 minutes and then self-myofascial release through foam roller protocol was applied to taekwondo players and then their vertical jump performances were measured. As a result of the research, it was determined that there was no statistical difference between 5 minutes of jogging at a slow pace and static stretching. However, it was determined that there were statistically significant differences both between 5 minutes of jogging at a slow pace and self-myofascial release and between static stretching and self-myofascial release (p<0.05). In conclusion, it can be said that self-myofascial release through foam roller exercises can affect vertical jump performance positively and at an acute level

    Swin-MFINet: Swin transformer based multi-feature integration network for detection of pixel-level surface defects

    Automatic surface defect detection is critical for manufacturing industries, such as steel, fabric, and marble industries. This study proposes a Swin transformer-based model called Multi-Feature Integration Network (Swin-MFINet) for pixel-level surface defect detection. The proposed model consists of an encoder, a Swin transformer-based decoder, and Multi-Feature Integration (MFI) modules. In the encoder module of the proposed model, a pre-trained Inception network is used to extract key features from small-size datasets. In the decoder section, global semantic features are obtained from the initial features by using the Swin-transformer block, which is the newest transformer technology of today. In addition, the convolution layer is used in the last step of the decoder, since transformers are limited in acquiring small spatial details such as edges, colors, and textures, which are important in detecting some small defects. In the last module called MFI, feature maps from different decoder stages are combined, and the channel squeeze-spatial excitation block is applied to reveal important features. Finally, a prediction map is obtained by applying a convolution layer and sigmoid activation function to the MFI module output, respectively. The performance of proposed model is analyzed over MT and MVTec datasets containing surface defect images. The proposed model obtained mIoU scores of 81.37%, and 77.07% respectively, for these two datasets These results outperform the state-of-the-art for the surface defect detection problem

    Does Rocuroinum Dose Adjusted Due to Lean Body Weight Provide Adequate Intubation Conditions?: A Prospective Observational Study

    Introduction and Aim. There is no consensus on the weight parameters to use when titrating the dosage of the neuromuscular blocking agents during intubation. In our study, we administered rocuronium, based on either the lean body weight (LBW) or the total body weight in patients with body mass index (BMI) of 18.5 to 34.9 and compared the duration of action of the drug and its effects on tracheal intubation conditions and hemodynamic parameters. Methods. This is a prospective, observational study. Patients between the ages of 18 and 65 with BMI of 18.5-34.9, who are expected to be under general anesthesia for less than 6 hours, were divided into 3 groups according to their BMI (Group 1 BMI = 18.5-24.9, Group 2 BMI = 25-29.9, Group 3 BMI = 30-34.9). These groups were randomly divided into 2 subgroups: Groups LBW; 1 LBW, 2 LBW, and 3 LBW were given rocuronium intubation dosages based on their LBW while control groups; 1K, 2K, and 3K were given 0.6 mg/kg rocuronium according to their total body weight. The data on the duration of action of rocuronium and its effects on the endotracheal intubation conditions were evaluated. Results. In Group 1, T1 time was found to be significantly longer (p=0.001). Intubation score and the use of additional rocuronium dose were found to be significantly higher in Group 1 LBW than in Group 1K (p=0.001). In Group 1, an additional rocuronium dose was needed to achieve optimal intubation conditions for subgroup 1 LBW. Rocuronium duration of action was found to be significantly longer in control groups 2 and 3, that received TBW-based dosage. Conclusion. In adult patients with a BMI of 18.5 and 24.9 BMI, we report optimal intubation conditions with the LBW-adjusted rocuronium dosage

    İlerleyici Keratokonus Tedavisinde Hızlandırılmış ve Standart Korneal Kollajen Çapraz Bağlama Tedavisinin Başarısının Değerlendirilmesi

    Amaç: İlerleyici keratokonusta hızlandırılmış ve standart korneal kollajen çapraz bağlama tedavi sonuçlarını karşılaştırmak. Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu geriye dönük çalışmaya, hızlandırılmış korneal kollajen çapraz bağlama (10 mW/cm 2, 9 dakika) yapılan 37 has- tanın 48 gözü ve standart korneal kollajen çapraz bağlama tedavisi (3 mW/cm 2, 30 dakika) yapılan 55 hastanın 73 gözü dahil edildi. Ameliyat sonrası dönemde 1 D altında maksimum keratometri (Kmax) artışı ve/veya 1 D manifest refraktif sferik eşdeğer artışı ve /veya görme keskinliğinin 0,1 (ondalık) ve altında azalması başarı olarak kabul edildi. Bulgular: Hızlandırılmış korneal kollajen çapraz bağlama ve standart korneal kollajen çapraz bağlama gruplarında tedavi başarı ora- nı sırasıyla %68,8 ve %82,2 idi (p= 0,086). Kmax değişimine göre başarı oranı hızlandırılmış korneal kollajen çapraz bağlama ve stan- dart korneal kollajen çapraz bağlama grubunda sırasıyla %77,1 ve %90,4 idi (p=0,044). İki grubun manifest refraktif sferik eşdeğer ve uzak düzeltmeli görme keskinliğinde başarısı birbirine benzerdi. Hızlandırılmış korneal kollajen çapraz bağlama ve standart korneal kol- lajen çapraz bağlama gruplarında ortalama uzak düzeltmeli görme keskinliğinde anlamlı artış göstermişti (sırasıyla p=0,028 ve p<0,001). Ortalama Kmax hızlandırılmış korneal kollajen çapraz bağlama grubunda 0,13±1,46 D azalma gösterirken (p=0,537) stan- dart korneal kollajen çapraz bağlama grubunda 0,69±1,44 D azalma göstermişti (p<0,001) ve ortalama Kmax değişimi açısından iki grup arasında anlamlı fark yoktu (p=0,108). Ortalama manifest refraktif sferik eşdeğer, hızlandırılmış korneal kollajen çapraz bağlama grubunda 0,16±1,79 D azalırken (p=0,975) standart korneal kollajen çapraz bağlama grubunda 0,27±1,33 D azalmıştı (p=0,118). Sonuç: Standart korneal kollajen çapraz bağlama prosedürünün korneal düzleştirme etkisi daha fazla iken görme keskinliği ve refraktif kusurların değişimi açısından iki prosedür benzer sonuçlara sahiptir

    Evaluation of regional economic integrations within the framework of Regional Security Complex Theory

    Çalışmanın amacı; bölgesel güvenlik kompleksi teorisi ile bölgesel ekonomik entegrasyon kavramlarının açıklanarak aralarındaki ilişkinin bölgesel güvenlik kompleksi teorisi çerçevesinde seçilmiş bölgesel ekonomik entegrasyon örnekleriyle değerlendirmeye çalışmaktır. Tez toplamda üç bölüm üzerinde hazırlanmış olup çalışmada ilk iki bölümde daha çok teorik olarak "Bölgesel Ekonomik Entegrasyon", "Küreselleşme", "Bölgeselleşme", "Bölgesel Güvenlik Kompleksi Teorisi" temel kavramları üzerinden açıklamalar yapılmaktadır. Söz konusu kavramlardan yola çıkarak güvenlik kaygıları ve belirli liderlik uygulamaları ile bölgesel güvenlik kompleksi teorisinin nasıl şekillendirildiği değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmanın üçüncü bölümünde ise değerlendirme ve analiz yapılarak bölgesel güvenlik kompleksi teorisi çerçevesinde yalıtkan ülke olarak tanımlanan Türkiye'nin seçilmiş bölgesel ekonomik entegrasyonlar ile ilişkisi istatistiksel olarak dış ticaret verileri ile açıklanarak Türkiye'nin teori kapsamında herhangi bir bölgesel ekonomik entegrasyonda yer almamasının nedenleri değerlendirilmektedir. Bölgesel güvenlik kompleksi teorisi ile bölgesel ekonomik entegrasyon kavramları birbirlerini karşılıklı, doğrudan ve dolaylı olarak birbirlerini etkilemektedirler. Araştırma sonucunda, bölgesel güvenlik kompleksi teorisinin bölgesel ekonomik entegrasyonların oluşum nedeni olduğu değerlendirilmekte olup yüksek düzeyde karşılıklı olumlu yönde ilişkili oldukları tespit edilmektedir. Sonuç olarak bölgesel güvenlik kompleksi teorisi ile bölgesel ekonomik entegrasyon kavramları ilişkili olduğu için çalışma hipotezinin doğruluğuna ulaşılmaktadır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Bölgesel Ekonomik Entegrasyon, Kopenhag Okulu, Bölgesel Güvenlik Kompleksi Teorisi.The aim of this study is to explain the concepts of regional security complex theory and regional economic integration and to try to evaluate the relationship between them with selected regional economic integrations. The thesis has been prepared in three parts in total, and the first two parts of the thesis are mostly theoretically explained on the basic concepts of "Regional Economic Integration", "Globalization", "Regionalization", "Regional Security Complex Theory". Based on these concepts, security concerns and specific leadership practices and how the theory of the regional security complex is shaped are evaluated. In the third part of the study, the relationship between Turkey, which is defined as an insulating country within the framework of the regional security complex theory, and selected regional economic integrations is explained statistically with foreign trade data, and the reasons why Turkey is not included in any regional economic integration within the scope of the theory are evaluated. The theory of the regional security complex and the concepts of regional economic integration affect each other mutually, directly and indirectly. As a result of the research, it is evaluated that the theory of regional security complex is the reason for the formation of regional economic integrations and it is determined that they are positively related to each other at a high level. As a result, since the regional security complex theory and the concepts of regional economic integration are related, the working hypothesis is correct.     The production and electrochemical properties of N-doped porous carbon structure-based supercapacitor coin cells and flexible wristbands

    Amorphous zeolitic imidazolate framework (aZIF) materials were used for N-doped porous carbon material (NPC-1000) by thermolysis process and the KOH activation process was used to obtain high surface area (APC750). Symmetric supercapacitor devices were assembled with NPC-1000 and APC-750 as electrodes. The capacitance of the devices exhibited good specific capacitance 30.3 and 63.3 F/g, 1 V, respectively, and very high cycling performance (4000 continuous charge-discharge) with 0.13 capacitive fade. Due to the need for portable and wearable electronics in daily life, flexible or wearable energy storage devices have become the focus of attention in recent years. To demonstrate the practical application of the symmetric supercapacitors, the electrochemical properties of APC-750 were investigated and it was used for the assembling of a flexible wristband. The angle dependence of the capacity of a flexible wristband was analyzed and it is found that the best capacity was obtained for the angel of 180. The results showed that activated porous carbon material (APC-750) synthesized from aZIF has a high potential for supercapacitor applications when compared the NPC-1000 in this study.Inonue University Research Council [FCD-2021-2557]The study was partially supported by Inonue University Research Council by the project number of FCD-2021-2557
