Tunnel/Layer Composite Na0.44MnO2 Cathode Material with Enhanced Structural Stability via Cobalt Doping for Sodium-Ion Batteries
Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) are the most promising alternativeto lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) due to their low cost and environmentalfriendliness; therefore, enhancing the performance of SIBs'components is crucial. Although most of the studies have focused onsingle-phase cathode electrodes, these materials have difficulty inmeeting the requirements in practice. At this point, composite materialsshow superior performance due to balancing different structures andare offered as an alternative to single-phase cathodes. In this study,we synthesized a Na0.44MnO2/Na0.7MnO2.05 composite material in a single step with cobaltsubstitution. Changes in the crystal structure and the physical andelectrochemical properties of the composite and bare structures werestudied. Whole-Cell Postbiotics: an Innovative Approach for Extending the Shelf Life and Controlling Major Foodborne Pathogens in Chicken Breast Fillets
The current research was designed to compare the physicochemical and antimicrobial properties of cell-free supernatant (CFS) and whole-cell postbiotic (WCP) and reveal the efficacy of WCP in combination with chitosan and thymol for extending the shelf life and inhibiting emerging foodborne pathogens in chicken breast fillets during storage at 4 degrees C. For this purpose, pH, organic acids, titratable acidity, antioxidant capacity assays (FRAP, ABTS, and DPPH), free amino acids (FAA), free fatty acids (FFA), total phenolic content, individual phenolics, color properties, and volatiles of CFS and WCP were compared. The levels of some organic acids, FAA, titratable acidity, and total phenolic content (TPC) of WCP were higher than CFS (P < 0.05). Almost similar inhibition zones (7.82 to 10.43 mm) were recorded between the CFS and WCP against some pathogenic bacteria including S. Typhimurium, E. coli O157:H7, and L. monocytogenes. In chicken breast fillets, the total viable count of the control group reached the upper limit (7.0 log(10)) on the 6th day, while WCP (50%) + thymol (0.5%) + chitosan (0.5%) treatment provided a shelf life extension of 9 days (P < 0.05). Additionally, this treatment provided 2.35, 2.35, and 1.96 log(10) CFU/g reductions in S. Typhimurium, E. coli O157:H7, and L. monocytogenes counts on the initial day, respectively (P < 0.05). The result of this study revealed that WCPs can be easily prepared without any changes in antibacterial efficacy and used in food matrices to control major foodborne pathogens and extended the shelf life by retarding microbial and chemical deteriorations
Çağdaş Sosyal Teoride Antonio Gramsci
Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, çağdaş sosyal teoride Gramsci’nin görüşlerine odaklanmaktır. Güney İtalya’da 1891 yılında doğan Gramsci, hegemonya kuramıyla çağdaş sosyal teoriye ve modern sosyolojiye önemli derecede katkı yapmış bir teorisyendir. Gramsci, zihin dünyasında konuları analiz ederken ağırlıklı olarak hegemonya sözcüğünü kullanmıştır. Bu anlamda, Gramsci deyince akla gelen ilk kavram hegemonyadır. Hegemonya tahakkümle tezatlık oluştursa da temelde tahakküm ve hegemonya yan yanadır. Onun hegemonyaya verdiği önem anlamında sivil toplum-politik toplum ayrımına değinilmelidir. Gramsci, politik toplumun tahakküm temelli yapısının karşısına sivil toplumu öne çıkarır. Burada kilit nokta, politik toplumun zora dayalı niteliğine karşı sivil toplumun hegemonyaya bağlı yapısının konulmuş olmasıdır. Bu bağlamda, işin içine hegemonyayla birlikte ideoloji de girmektedir. Gramsci, politika ve iradeyi ön plana çıkarırken, hegemonyanın toplumsal meşruluk sorunu halledildikten sonra kurulduğunu ifade eder. Gramsci, 20. yüzyılın ilk yarısının en önemli Post- Marksist düşünürlerindendir. Bir üstyapı teorisyeni olan Gramsci, Marx’ın yapı odaklı çözümlemelerine ek olarak yeni anlamlar ilave etmiştir. Bu yönüyle de Gramsci, üstyapısal alanı daha fazla önemsemiştir. Gramsci, sosyolojik tahlillerinde ekonomik etkenlerin yanı sıra esas olarak kültürel alanın önemine dikkat çekmiştir. Bu çalışma, literatür taramasıyla elde edilen verilerle Gramsci’nin sivil toplum, hegemonya, üst yapı, ideoloji, kültür ve aydınlar gibi konularına yer verilmiştir. Ayrıca, yaşamı ve düşünce dünyasını saptama ve yorumlama amacı taşımaktadır
MARKETING PROBLEMS OF AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVES: AN APPLICATION IN BURDUR PROVINCE
The aim of this research is to determine the marketing problems encountered in agricultural cooperatives and the relationship between these problems and negative marketing performance. In this sense, survey questions regarding marketing environment problems, product-related problems, price-related problems, distribution related problems, promotion-related problems and negative marketing performance were asked to the cooperative managers. Another aim of the research is to determine the effect of marketing problems on negative marketing performance. In the research, a questionnaire was applied to 104 dairy cooperative managers in the province of Burdur using the full count method. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that there was a positive and moderate relationship between the variables (p<0.01). According to the regression analysis based on the relationship between the variables; It was found that problems related to price and promotion affect marketing performance negatively (p<0.01)
Cancer Metastasis Prediction and Genomic Biomarker Identification through Machine Learning and eXplainable Artificial Intelligence in Breast Cancer Research
Aim: Method: This research presents a model combining machine learning (ML) techniques and eXplainable artificial intelligence (XAI) to predict breast cancer (BC) metastasis and reveal important genomic biomarkers in metastasis patients. Method: A total of 98 primary BC samples was analyzed, comprising 34 samples from patients who developed distant metastases within a 5-year follow-up period and 44 samples from patients who remained disease-free for at least 5 years after diagnosis. Genomic data were then subjected to biostatistical analysis, followed by the application of the elastic net feature selection method. This technique identified a restricted number of genomic biomarkers associated with BC metastasis. A light gradient boosting machine (LightGBM), categorical boosting (CatBoost), Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), Gradient Boosting Trees (GBT), and Ada boosting (AdaBoost) algorithms were utilized for prediction. To assess the models' predictive abilities, the accuracy, F1 score, precision, recall, area under the ROC curve (AUC), and Brier score were calculated as performance evaluation metrics. To promote interpretability and overcome the black box problem of ML models, a SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) method was employed. Results: The LightGBM model outperformed other models, yielding remarkable accuracy of 96% and an AUC of 99.3%. In addition to biostatistical evaluation, in XAI-based SHAP results, increased expression levels of TSPYL5, ATP5E, CA9, NUP210, SLC37A1, ARIH1, PSMD7, UBQLN1, PRAME, and UBE2T (p <= 0.05) were found to be associated with an increased incidence of BC metastasis. Finally, decreased levels of expression of CACTIN, TGFB3, SCUBE2, ARL4D, OR1F1, ALDH4A1, PHF1, and CROCC (p <= 0.05) genes were also determined to increase the risk of metastasis in BC. Aluminum Recovery by Acid Leaching of Variously Enriched Pyrophyllite Ore: Effects of Pre-treatment Methods for Activation
Effects of pre-treatment methods such as calcination for thermal activation and intensive milling for mechanical activation on the aluminum (Al) recovery by acid leaching of preliminarily enriched pyrophyllite ore via attrition scrubbing and froth flotation were investigated. XRD patterns of the calcined and the intensively milled samples were compared to determine the changes during the pre-treatment processes. Hot HCl solution was used for dissolution of aluminum to determine the Al recoveries from variously enriched and variously pre-treated pyrophyllite ore samples. Specific thermal and milling energies consumed per unit amount of ore were calculated, and the ideal activation method was suggested by comparing the activation methods in terms of energy consumption. Mechanical activation of the pyrophyllite concentrate obtained by attrition scrubbing rather than froth flotation was suggested for higher recoveries of aluminum from by acidic leaching. It was determined that operating cost (in terms of energy) of the mechanical activation is lower and aluminum recovery is higher than thermal activation. Misyonerlerin Diyarbakır?a yönelmelerindeki temel amaç Hristiyanlığı yaymak olsa daarka planda siyasi ve ekonomik çıkarlar yatmaktaydı. BugayeyleBoard Teşkilatı da1830yılındamisyonerleri olan Mr. H.G.O. Dwight ileEli Smith Ermeni, Kürtve Nasturilerin yaşadığı coğrafyada araştırma yapmak üzere görevlendirilmişlerdir. Yapılançalışma ve incelemelerneticesinde 1835yılında Musul, Diyarbakır ve İran?ın Urmiye bölgesinin oluşturduğu üçgende bir misyonerlik merkezi kurulması kararlaştırılmıştır. Diyarbakır ise Musul?a yönelik faaliyetlerin ikmal üssü olarak düşünülmüştür. Dr. Ashel Grant 1839yılındaçalışmalarınıgenişletmek için Diyarbakır?a gelmiştir. Buradahalkın batılılara ve misyonerlere karşı tepkiliolduğunu görmüştür. Effectiveness of play therapies for children under 12: A systematic literature review
Bu araştırmanın amacı 3-12 yaş arasındaki çocuklarla yapılan, deneysel müdahaleleri içeren oyun terapisi çalışmalarından elde edilen bulguları sistematik bir yöntemle sentezlemektir. Mevcut kanıtları incelemek ve bir araya getirmek için sistematik literatür taraması yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Bu amaçla çalışmanın kapsamını belirlemek için dahil edilme ve dışlama kriterleri belirlenmiştir. EBSCOHOST (Academic Search Ultimate, ERIC, MEDLINE gibi tüm veri tabanları dahil), Pubmed, SAGE, Science Direct, Scopus, Web of Science ve WILEY veri tabanlarında oyun terapisi ile ilgili çalışmalar taranmıştır. Uygunluk kriterlerini karşılayan 39 çalışma bu araştırmanın kapsamını oluşturmuştur. Dahil edilen çalışmalarda sıklıkla Çocuk Merkezli oyun terapisi, Bilişsel Davranışçı oyun terapisi, Adlerian oyun terapisi ve Yapılandırılmış oyun terapisinin etkililiğinin test edildiği görülmüştür. Oyun terapilerinin çocukların agresif davranışlar, karşı gelme davranışları, saldırganlık, dışşsallaştırılmış/içselleştirilmiş davranış problemleri, sosyal duygusal gelişim, sosyal yeterlilik ve empati, kaygı, öz düzenleme, sorumluluk, benlik saygısı ve depresyon, akademik başarı, dikkat ve iki dilli bozukluk üzerinde etkili olduğu; öz yeterlilik ve çalışma belleği problemleri üzerinde etkili olmadığı bulgularına ulaşılmıştır. Dahil edilen çalışmaların yanlılık risk analizi değerlendirildiğinde; seçim yanlılığı boyutunda rastgele atama kriteri çoğu çalışma düşük risk, rastgele atama bilgisinin gizlenmesi kriteri çoğu çalışmada belirsiz risk kategorisinde yer almıştır. Performans, belirleme ve yıpranma yanlılığı boyutunda çoğu çalışma belirsiz risk kategorisinde yer alırken raporlama yanlılığında tüm çalışmalar düşük risk kategorisinde yer almıştır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgular alanyazındaki çalışmalar ışığında tartışılarak uygulamacılar ve araştırmacılara yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur.The aim of this research is to synthesize the findings obtained from play therapy studies with children aged 3-12, including experimental interventions, in a systematic method. A systematic literature review method was used to analyze and aggregate the available evidence. For this purpose, inclusion and exclusion criteria were determined to determine the scope of the study. Studies on play therapy were searched in EBSCOHOST (including all databases such as Academic Search Ultimate, ERIC, MEDLINE), Pubmed, SAGE, Science Direct, Scopus, Web of Science and WILEY databases. 39 studies that met the eligibility criteria formed the scope of this research. The included studies often tested the effectiveness of Child-Centered play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral play therapy, Adlerian play therapy, and Structured play therapy. Play therapies are effective on children's aggressive behaviors, defiant behaviors, aggression, externalized/internalized behavior problems, social emotional development, social competence and empathy, anxiety, self-regulation, responsibility, self-esteem and depression, academic achievement, attention and bilingual disorder. ; It was found that it was not effective on self-efficacy and working memory problems. When the bias risk analysis of the included studies is evaluated; In the selection bias dimension, the random assignment criterion was included in the low risk category in most studies, and the criterion of hiding the random assignment information was in the uncertain risk category in most studies. In terms of performance, identification and attrition bias, most studies were in the uncertain risk category, while in reporting bias, all studies were in the low risk category. The findings obtained as a result of the research were discussed in the light of the studies in the literature and suggestions were made for practitioners and researchers
A case report: Secondary cancers due to oncological treatment modalities
Background: Breast cancer (BC) is one of the most common cancers worldwide. In recent years, numerous non-chemotherapy agents have been developed for BC treatment, including targeted agents, new hormonal therapies, and immunotherapies. However, despite the widespread use of these agents, chemotherapies are still an important cornerstone in BC treatment. Similarly, serious de-escalation studies in radiotherapy use have been conducted in recent years. These two treatment modalities, which we frequently use in the treatment of BC due to their effectiveness, may also have serious side effects. Case Presentation: In this article, I will present a case of multiple myeloma (MM) and myxofibrosarcoma (MFS) that occurred many years later in a patient who completed adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy for BC. MM has developed due to previous chemotherapy and MFS has developed due to previous radiotherapy. Conclusion: We usually treat our cancer patients with chemotherapy or radiotherapy to prolong their lives. In addition to the benefits we provide, may negatively affect the lifetime and quality of life by causing the development of metachronous secondary cancers in some patients.
