Movilización del conocimiento en la universidad. Nexo entre investigación y docencia como parte de la responsabilidad social universitaria (RSU)
No full textDoctorat internacionalEl objetivo general de esta tesis es analizar la actividad académica del personal docente e investigador universitario en el ámbito de la Educación desde esa dicotomía humboldtiana docente e investigadora. Mediante una metodología de corte cualitativo, se recogió la información a partir de cuatro grupos focales y seis entrevistas individuales con personal docente e investigador del área de Educación. La muestra de participantes fue un total de 39 personas. La información se analizó mediante un análisis de contenido temático. Los resultados evidencian que existen barreras, facilitadores y estrategias que influyen en la unión ambas actividades. Como conclusión principal se considera que si se unifican esfuerzos en las actividades que se realizan de la docencia a la investigación se está invirtiendo el tiempo de manera más eficiente, a la vez, que se puede considerar la docencia como un medio para movilizar el conocimiento desarrollado a partir de la investigación.The objective of this thesis is to analyze the academic activity of university teaching and research staff in the field of Education, specifically within the Humboldtian dichotomy of teaching and research. Using a qualitative methodology, data were collected through four focus groups and six individual interviews with academic staff in the field of Education, with a total sample of 39 participants. The data were processed using thematic content analysis. The results demonstrate the existence of barriers, facilitators, and strategies that influence the integration of both activities. The primary conclusion suggests that by unifying efforts across teaching and research activities, time is invested more efficiently; furthermore, teaching can be viewed as a key vehicle for mobilize knowledge developed through research.Programa de Doctorat en Educaci
Estudio prospectivo para evaluar el papel de la valoración geriátrica en pacientes con carcinoma no microcítico de pulmón estadio III irresecable
No full textLa quimiorradioterapia concurrente es el tratamiento estándar para el cáncer de pulmón de células no pequeñas localmente avanzado irresecable. La valoración geriátrica permite seleccionar pacientes aptos para tratamiento activo y detectar aquellos vulnerables o frágiles que requieren cuidados paliativos o intervenciones específicas. Este estudio prospectivo exploratorio incluyó pacientes ≥ 70 años sometidos a valoración geriátrica. Los objetivos secundarios fueron describir la población, evaluar la valoración geriátrica como factor pronóstico, determinar el perfil de toxicidad y explorar un biomarcador de fragilidad. Se incluyeron 51 pacientes; el 35% fueron clasificados como frágiles, presentando menor supervivencia global y mayor toxicidad severa. Los resultados confirman que la valoración geriátrica puede identificar pacientes frágiles no aptos para tratamiento activo, con mayor riesgo de toxicidad. Los resultados de los análisis de sangre sugieren la posibilidad de nuevas hipótesis sobre biomarcadores de fragilidad.Concurrent chemoradiotherapy is the standard approach for locally advanced, unresectable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). As the cancer population increasingly consists of older adults, the role of Geriatric Assessment (GA) in identifying patients suitable for intensive treatment becomes relevant. Although GA has demonstrated value in multiple tumor types, its application in advanced unresectable NSCLC remains limited. This prospective, non-interventional exploratory study evaluated the ability of GA to identify frail patients who may not benefit from active treatment. Patients aged ≥70 years with unresectable locally advanced NSCLC underwent GA. Secondary objectives included population characterization, assessment of the prognostic value of GA, toxicity evaluation, and exploration of potential frailty biomarkers. Between June 2017 and June 2020, 51 patients were enrolled; 35% were classified as frail. Frailty was associated with reduced overall survival and higher grade 3–4 toxicities. Findings suggest that GA effectively identifies older patients unsuitable for intensive treatment and highlights potential biological markers warranting further investigation.Programa de Doctorat en Ciències Biomèdiques i Salu
Evaluación de un programa de enseñanza de estrategias de aprendizaje basado en mindfulness y el manejo de recursos en Educación Secundaria y Bachillerato
No full textEsta tesis doctoral tiene como objetivo evaluar la eficacia del Programa Ágora, una intervención educativa basada en la atención plena (mindfulness) y el manejo de recursos, diseñada para potenciar el rendimiento académico y la competencia personal, social y de aprender a aprender (CPSAA). El programa se fundamenta en la atención plena (mindfulness) y en el manejo de recursos, integrando estrategias de autorregulación, técnicas de estudio avanzadas y hábitos de vida saludables (nutrición, descanso y ejercicio). La investigación se desarrolló mediante un diseño cuasi-experimental pretest-postest con grupo de control, aplicado en centros educativos de la Comunidad Valenciana. La muestra estuvo compuesta por alumnado de secundaria y bachillerato, a quienes se aplicaron instrumentos validados como el FFMQ, CEVEAPEU y CEVS-II, además del análisis de calificaciones. Los resultados evidencian mejoras significativas en la concentración, la motivación, la planificación y el rendimiento académico de los participantes. En conclusión, el Programa Ágora se presenta como una propuesta innovadora y efectiva para optimizar la atención, la autonomía y el bienestar del alumnado en contextos educativos actuales.This thesis investigates the effectiveness of the Ágora Learning Program, designed to enhance learning strategies, mindfulness, and personal resource management among secondary and high school students. It explores the program’s impact on academic achievement, cognitive competencies, and emotional well-being. Findings indicate substantial improvements in concentration, planning, motivation, and self-efficacy, highlighting the beneficial effects of integrating mindfulness with advanced study techniques on student learning. The study provides solid empirical evidence on educational programs that promote the holistic development of learners by fostering cognitive, metacognitive, and socio-emotional skills, and offers practical insights for optimizing instructional practices. L’estudi analitza la cobertura periodística que la premsa generalista va dedicar a aquest procés mitjançant un enfocament longitudinal i comparatiu, posant en relleu el paper actiu dels mitjans en la construcció simbòlica de la realitat. Basant-se en els postulats de la Teoria de l’Agenda Setting i de la sociologia constructivista dels mitjans, la investigació identifica patrons de cobertura, divergències editorials i mecanismes de construcció del relat que configuraren la percepció pública del tancament. A partir d’una base de dades pròpia, el treball ofereix una anàlisi descriptiva i interpretativa que contribueix a comprendre el significat polític i comunicatiu de l’esdeveniment, i advoca per mantenir viu el debat científic i social sobre la gestió i el futur dels mitjans públics valencians.The closure of Radiotelevisió Valenciana (RTVV) in 2013, with the definitive end of Canal 9's broadcasts, represents a politically, mediatically, and symbolically significant episode in contemporary Valencian history. The study analyzes the journalistic coverage that general-interest newspapers devoted to this process through a longitudinal and comparative approach, highlighting the active role of the media in the symbolic construction of reality. Based on the postulates of Agenda Setting Theory and constructivist media sociology, the research identifies coverage patterns, editorial divergences, and narrative construction mechanisms that shaped the public perception of the closure. Drawing on its own database, the work offers a descriptive and interpretive analysis that contributes to understanding the political and communicative significance of the event, and advocates for keeping the scientific and social debate about the management and future of Valencian public media alive.Programa de Doctorat en Ciències de la Comunicaci

Microwave-Assisted Synthesis of CsPbBr3 Perovskite Nanocrystals for Optoelectronic Applications Resum de la tesi (Anglès)
No full textCompendi d'articles, Doctorat internacionalPerovskite nanocrystals have emerged as outstanding materials for optoelectronic applications due to their tunable composition, bright emission, and tolerance to defects. Among them, all-inorganic CsPbBr3 nanocrystals exhibit exceptional photoluminescence and stability, making them ideal for next-generation LEDs. However, conventional hot-injection synthesis is complex, energy-intensive, and unsuitable for scale-up. This Ph.D. thesis explores microwave-assisted synthesis as a fast, sustainable alternative, enabling precise control of crystal size and halide composition while achieving high photoluminescence quantum yields after purification. The resulting nanocrystals were successfully integrated into LEDs, showing sharp emission, high efficiency, and excellent luminance. A life cycle assessment revealed that microwave synthesis dramatically reduces energy consumption compared to conventional methods, without compromising material quality. Overall, this work demonstrates that microwave-assisted strategies combine performance and sustainability, offering a scalable route for high-quality CsPbBr3 nanocrystals and advancing their integration into practical optoelectronic technologies.Programa de Doctorat en Cièncie
Analytical solution for dynamic response of multi-span bridges under moving loads: an efficient method based on time-discrete analysis using sinc interpolation
No full textThis paper proposes an analytical method for calculating the dynamic response of multi-span bridges subjected to moving loads. The proposed approach uses sinc interpolation time-discrete analysis based on the Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem. The proposed method enables the computation of dynamic responses with analytical precision and minimal computational effort. This work provides closed-form explicit formulas for bridge response with significant advantages over conventional numerical approaches, reducing complexity and computational cost without compromising accuracy. Validation cases demonstrated the robustness and reliability of the proposed solution for different bridge configurations and loading scenarios. To facilitate adoption, the proposed methodology is implemented in open-source Julia code, which is available at GitHub. In addition to providing a powerful toolbox for structural engineers, this study establishes a foundational framework for extending sinc-based interpolation techniques to other structural dynamics and civil engineering problems
β2-Adrenergic Receptor Modulation of Astrocyte-Neuron Lactate Shuttle During Recognition Memory Formation: Behavioral and Molecular Studies
No full textDoctorat internacionalThis thesis proposes an integrative framework linking noradrenergic neurotransmission with astrocyte-mediated metabolic mechanisms in long-term declarative memory, focusing on object recognition memory (ORM). Recognition memory relies on recollection and familiarity, supported primarily by the hippocampus and perirhinal cortex, respectively. Using the Novel Object Recognition task, the study demonstrates that noradrenaline (NA) critically modulates ORM through β₂-adrenergic receptors (β₂-AR). Behavioral experiments reveal sex-dependent encoding strategies and show that enhancing NA facilitates, while β₂-AR blockade impairs, ORM. At the cellular level, NA induces astrocytic lactate production via β₂-AR signaling, linking neuromodulation to the astrocyte–neuron lactate shuttle (ANLS). Disruption of lactate transport abolishes NA-mediated memory enhancement, whereas exogenous lactate rescues β₂-AR blockade-induced deficits. Collectively, these findings establish astrocytic metabolism as an essential mediator of NA-dependent, non-emotional memory formation.Programa de Doctorat en Psicologi

No full textCompendio de artículosEl consumo de plásticos derivados del petróleo ha generado una crisis ambiental por la acumulación de residuos en vertederos, ecosistemas y mares. Aunque existen avances en reciclaje, la mayoría de los plásticos de corta vida útil, sobre todo de envasado, se desechan inadecuadamente. Esto impulsa el desarrollo de materiales biodegradables que conserven la funcionalidad sin dañar el medioambiente. Entre los biopolímeros más prometedores destacan los polihidroxialcanoatos (PHA), de origen bacteriano, biodegradables y con propiedades comparables a plásticos convencionales, aunque limitados por fragilidad y alto coste. Esta tesis aborda dichas limitaciones mediante mezclas de PHA con elastómeros y biopolímeros dúctiles, usando extrusión reactiva y agentes compatibilizantes. Las mezclas se caracterizaron térmica, mecánica y morfológicamente. Se evaluó su procesabilidad con extrusión, moldeo por inyección y termoformado, además de ensayos de biodegradación y compostaje para comprobar la sostenibilidad. Los resultados muestran mayor ductilidad, tenacidad y buena procesabilidad, con biodegradabilidad del 70–90%. Estas formulaciones confirman el potencial de los PHA como materiales sostenibles para envases, apoyando la economía circularThis thesis addresses the environmental challenge arising from the massive use of conventional plastics through the development of biodegradable materials based on polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA). The main objective is to improve the toughness, ductility, and processability of these biopolymers for short-life packaging applications without compromising their biodegradability. To achieve this, compatibilization strategies based on reactive extrusion were employed, combining PHA with elastomers (TPU, bio-TPE) and biopolymers (PBSA and PCL), using reactive agents to optimize interphase adhesion. The results show that certain formulations significantly increase impact resistance and thermal stability while maintaining biodegradability. Moreover, the materials obtained exhibit good processability through industrial techniques such as injection molding and thermoforming.
