Las competencias docentes del profesorado universitario en un mundo digital: políticas y estrategias para el proceso de inducción a la docencia
No full textCompendi d'articles, Doctorat internacionalLa presente tesis doctoral analiza las políticas y estrategias del proceso de inducción a la profesión docente universitaria a nivel nacional, dentro del contexto tecnológico actual. Mediante un enfoque cualitativo, se realiza un análisis documental y de contenido de: los marcos de competencias docentes, la formación docente del profesorado novel en las universidades españolas y cinco grupos de discusión con diferentes agentes (administradores, noveles y formadores). Los resultados, presentados en siete artículos, destacan la necesidad de un enfoque integral y contextualizado para la formación docente novel. Se recomienda combinar la mentorización, la innovación, la reflexión y una evaluación de impacto del programa. También es relevante ofrecer un mayor apoyo y reconocimiento institucional, así como un tratamiento integral y pedagógico de las tecnologías digitales en el desarrollo profesional docente. A su vez, la conexión entre teoría y práctica, así como la personalización de las formaciones en un entorno colegiado, resulta clave.This thesis analyses the policies and strategies of the induction process to the university teaching profession at a national level, in the current digital context. Using a qualitative approach, a documentary and content analysis is carried out of teaching competency frameworks, of teacher training for new teachers in Spanish universities and of five focus groups with key agents (administrators, novices and teacher educators). The results, presented in seven articles, indicate the need for a holistic and contextualised approach to new teacher education. A combination of mentoring, research-based innovation, reflection and evaluation of the impact of these programmes is recommended. To this end, the university must offer greater institutional recognition and it is essential to adopt a holistic and pedagogical approach on digital teaching competence. Finally, personalisation of training and the connection between theory and practice in a collegial environment are essential.Programa de Doctorat en Educaci
El Diseño Universal para el Aprendizaje (DUA) en la universidad: superar las barreras para el aprendizaje y la participación del alumnado autista
No full textCompendi d'articles, Doctorat internacionalEsta tesis doctoral explora cómo la Universitat Jaume I (Castellón de la Plana) promueve una educación inclusiva desde la perspectiva del alumnado autista, utilizando el enfoque del Diseño Universal para el Aprendizaje (DUA). A través de una metodología cualitativa y siete estudios, se identifican diferentes barreras para su participación y aprendizaje, así como facilitadores desde el enfoque DUA. Aunque el profesorado muestra una actitud proactiva, desconoce cómo implementar prácticas más inclusivas. Los servicios de apoyo son clave, aunque requieren de una mayor coordinación entre los distintos agentes para garantizar que sus funciones sean verdaderamente efectivas. La propuesta formativa Encuentros impulsa el diálogo entre estudiantado, profesorado y especialistas para construir colectivamente conocimiento y avanzar hacia una universidad más inclusiva. La investigación concluye que la UJI muestra un compromiso con la inclusión, aunque señala la necesidad de un respaldo institucional más sólido, que impulse estas iniciativas como parte de su modelo universitario.This research explores how the Jaume I University (Castellón de la Plana) promotes inclusive education from the perspective of autistic students, using the framework of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Through a qualitative methodology and seven studies, various barriers to their participation and learning are identified, as well as facilitators aligned with the UDL approach. Although faculty members display a proactive attitude, they often lack knowledge on how to implement more inclusive practices. Support services play a key role, although greater coordination among stakeholders is needed to ensure that their functions are truly effective. The training initiative Encuentros fosters dialogue among students, faculty, and specialists to collectively build knowledge and advance toward a more inclusive university. The research concludes that UJI demonstrates a commitment to inclusion, while also highlighting the need for stronger institutional support to drive such initiatives as part of its university model.Programa de Doctorat en Educaci
Factores de éxito en los equipos de trabajo de los sistemas Lean Management
No full textLos sistemas Lean se basan en una serie de principios cuya implantación incluye recursos técnicos y humanos, donde se desarrollan los equipos de trabajo multifuncionales. El objetivo principal de esta tesis es investigar las dimensiones de los equipos lean que influyen en el funcionamiento de los sistemas Lean y en los Resultados de Operaciones de las empresas. La población del estudio está formada por empresas de diferentes sectores industriales. Los datos se analizan mediante regresión lineal. Los resultados muestran que las características clave de los equipos de trabajo lean son Interdependencia, Formación al equipo, Roles de comportamiento, Toma de decisiones compartida, Liderazgo y Aprendizaje interno y externo del equipo, cuya influencia varía según el tipo de resultado considerado. Estos resultados aportan información para la dirección de los sistemas Lean en general y de los equipos de trabajo en particular.Lean systems are based on a series of principles whose implementation includes technical and human resources, where multifunctional work teams are developed. The main objective of this thesis is to investigate the dimensions of Lean work teams that influence lean and operations performance. The study population are companies from different industrial sectors. Data are analyzed using linear regression analysis. Results show that the key characteristics of work teams are interdependence, team building, behavioral roles, shared decision making, leadership, internal learning team and external learning team. The influence of those variables depends on the type of outcome considered, lean performance, quality, delivery and flexibility. No significant effect is shown when cost performance is considered. These results provide information for the management of Lean systems in general and of work teams in particular.Programa de Doctorat en Economia i Empres
La receptividad de la traducción al italiano de autores latinoamericanos en el público juvenil hispanófono: estudio de la Scuola Italiana di Montevideo
No full textEsta investigación doctoral analiza cómo estudiantes hispanohablantes de la Scuola Italiana di Montevideo reciben la literatura latinoamericana traducida al italiano. A partir de un estudio de caso, se examinan los factores que inciden en esta receptividad, como el origen del autor, las decisiones docentes y el marco institucional. Se estudian antologías escolares, enfoques didácticos empleados (como el CLIL y la traducción pedagógica) y trayectorias del profesorado. La tesis propone el concepto de “literatura traducida de reinserción”, una categoría original para pensar textos que, mediante la traducción, regresan al contexto donde fueron producidos, a través de una lengua de estudio. Los resultados muestran que los estudiantes valoran más los textos cuando se vinculan con sus intereses y experiencias, y que la nacionalidad del autor tiene un peso menor. Aunque el entorno normativo favorece el uso de literatura traducida, su integración didáctica no siempre se explicita. El trabajo combina análisis documental, entrevistas y encuestas a estudiantes.This doctoral research analyzes how Spanish-speaking students at the Scuola Italiana di Montevideo engage with Latin American literature translated into Italian. Using a case study approach, it examines the factors influencing this reception, such as the author’s origin, teachers’ decisions, and the institutional framework. The study explores school anthologies, teaching approaches employed (such as CLIL and pedagogical translation), and teachers’ trajectories. The dissertation introduces the concept of “reinsertion translated literature,” an original category for considering texts that, through translation, return to the context in which they were produced, via a study language. The findings show that students value texts more when they are connected to their interests and experiences, and that the author’s nationality carries less weight. Although the regulatory framework supports the use of translated literature, its didactic integration is not always made explicit. Challenges of the Mexican Financial System: Empirical Studies on Financial Inclusion and Banking Competition
No full textThe research presented in this PhD Thesis provides new empirical evidence on the dynamics of financial inclusion and banking competition in Mexico. By studying the probability and the determinants of establishing a branch (chapter 1), developing an innovative index of inclusion (chapter 2), constructing a series of indices of inclusion on time (chapter 3), incorporating a geographic visualization (chapter4), and analyzing the role of multimarket contacts in competition (chapter 5), this work advances the understanding of structural and behavioural factors shaping the Mexican financial system. In analyzing financial inclusion, a central focus of this thesis is the study of geographic disparities. The availability of municipal-level data enabled the analysis to be conducted at a highly disaggregated scale, thereby uncovering local heterogeneities that are often concealed within national or aggregate statistics. Moreover, the recognition of the multidimensional nature of financial inclusion constitutes a distinctive feature of the approach taken in three of the articles included in this dissertation. These contributions examine not only the dimension of access, but also usage, along with several relevant subdimensions within both categories, thus providing a more comprehensive and nuanced picture of financial inclusion in Mexico. With regard to banking competition, the research extends beyond traditional measures of market structure and performance to explore the dynamics of bank behavior under conditions of municipal multimarket contact (MMC). By examining how geographic overlap and the intensity of multimarket interactions affect competitive conduct, the analysis offers a more nuanced perspective on the determinants of market power, complementing conventional competition analysis.Programa de Doctorat en Economia i Empres
Digital flow platform for the synthesis of high-quality multi-material perovskites
No full textPerovskite materials have demonstrated great potential for a wide range of optoelectronic applications due to their exceptional electronic and optical properties. However, synthesising high-quality perovskite films remains a significant challenge, often hindered by batch-wise processes that suffer from limited control over reaction conditions, scalability and reproducibility. In this study, we present a novel approach for synthesising single-crystal perovskites with an optimised continuous-flow reactor. Our methodology utilises a 3D printed system that enables precise control over reactant concentrations, reaction times, and temperature profiles. The reaction chamber was designed and optimised by combining residence time distribution (RTD) studies and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. High-quality single-crystal perovskites with different formulations were obtained employing seeding and seedless conditions. The possibility of synthesising mixed halide single crystal perovskites with different compositions along its structure was demonstrated by simply shifting the feedstock solution during the crystallisation, demonstrating the versatility of this technology
Carga humanística y económica de la dermatitis atópica en los pacientes pediátricos en España: una revisión sistemática
No full text[EN] Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease affecting all age groups, particularly children. This systematic review provides an overview of the humanistic and economic disease burden in the pediatric population with AD in Spain. The evidence, collected from 11 observational studies published over the past 10 years, exhibits the most common characteristics of the patients, disease burden, patient-reported outcomes, use of resources, and treatment patterns. The burden of AD extends beyond physical symptoms, with associated comorbidities such as asthma and impaired health-related quality of life and mental health disorders, particularly in severe cases. Traditional therapies, primarily topical corticosteroids, face adherence and efficacy challenges. Despite promising innovative treatments and available biological therapies, their use is still limited in the pediatric population. The findings of the present review highlight the scarce scientific evidence on the economic burden of pediatric AD, as well as the most updated humanistic evidence on this disease. At the same time, the need for individualized care and innovative therapeutic interventions to address the multifaceted challenges of pediatric AD in Spain is evident.[ES] La dermatitis atópica (DA) es un trastorno cutáneo crónico e inflamatorio que afecta a todos los grupos de edad, pero especialmente a los niños. Esta revisión sistemática proporciona una visión general de la carga de la enfermedad en la población pediátrica con DA en España. La evidencia recopilada de 11 estudios observacionales publicados en los últimos 10 años presenta las características más comunes de los pacientes, la carga de la enfermedad, los resultados reportados por los pacientes, el uso de recursos y los patrones de tratamiento más frecuentes. La carga de la DA se extiende más allá de los síntomas físicos, con comorbilidades asociadas como el asma, el deterioro de la calidad de vida relacionada con la salud y trastornos de salud mental, particularmente en los casos graves. Los tratamientos tradicionales, principalmente los corticosteroides tópicos, enfrentan desafíos de adherencia y eficacia. A pesar de las prometedoras innovaciones terapéuticas y la disponibilidad de terapias biológicas, su uso permanece limitado en población pediátrica. Los resultados de la presente revisión resaltan la escasa evidencia científica sobre la carga económica de la DA pediátrica, así como la evidencia humanística más actualizada de la enfermedad. Aproximación a la nueva gobernanza para el desarrollo glocal sostenible: estudio de caso Santander de Quilichao (Cauca, Colombia)
No full textLa presente investigación se centra en el marco del desarrollo local, considerando las particularidades de un territorio inmerso en grandes complejidades y contradicciones sociales que, incluso, han sido generadoras de violencia por más de 60 años. El propósito se centró en realizar un análisis macro de las condiciones para el desarrollo glocal sostenible, a través de un estudio con enfoque cualitativo y cuantitativo, que permitió contrastar las visiones institucionales y comunitarias sobre la gobernanza actual, la implementación de los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible y la articulación con la implementación del proceso de paz, en el municipio de Santander de Quilichao, departamento del Cauca Colombia. Del mismo modo, se realizó un análisis micro para identificar nuevas aportaciones a la gobernanza glocal sostenible, soportado en la propuesta teórica que emergió en el desarrollo de esta investigación que hemos llamado Aproximación a la Nueva Gobernanza para el Desarrollo Glocal Sostenible.The research focuses on the framework of local development, considering the particularities of a territory immersed in great complexities and social contradictions that have generated violence for more than 60 years. A macro analysis of the conditions for sustainable glocal development and a micro analysis to identify new contributions to sustainable glocal governance was carried out, through a study with a qualitative and quantitative approach, which allowed to contrast the institutional and community visions on current governance, the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and the articulation with the implementation of the peace process, in Santander de Quilichao Cauca Colombia. The Ceremonial Surrounding the Vicereine in the Viceroyalty of New Spain: Iconography, Devotion and Displays of Courtesy in the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries
No full textOver the last two decades, the ceremonial and etiquette used at the Latin American viceregal courts has been the focus of research and debate amongst historians. This article will show that although no written protocol was produced for viceregal etiquette, the rituals celebrated to mark the arrival of a new viceroy, or the departure of their predecessor, provide invaluable insights. They also shed light on the prominent role played by the vicereine, above all, during the celebrations held to mark the departure of both her and the viceroy. Another key line of enquiry has been the roles played by the viceroy and vicereine in a range of religious celebrations which served to demonstrate their religious piety. Aside from attending the feasts stipulated by the liturgical calendar, the viceroy and his wife took part in the dedication of new religious buildings, as well as the festivities linked to devotional cults supported by the monarchy, in particular the Marian cult of the Virgin of Los Remedios. Under the Sign of Trauma: An Analysis of William Faulkner’s 1929-1932 Novels
No full textDoctorat internacionalThis dissertation explores the dimensions of trauma in William Faulkner’s most experimental body of work written between 1929 and 1932. Interrogating trauma as a thematic concern and a formal strategy, I devise a tripartite structure to synchronically analyze its psychological, social, and aesthetic manifestations in the novelist's major novels. Specifically, this interdisciplinary analysis foregrounds the psychological expressions of suffering in Faulkner’s protagonists; situates individual distress within institutional frameworks; and locates the novelist’s strategies close to the formal mechanisms structuring traumatization. In its conclusions, this project identifies a poetics of trauma in Faulkner’s fiction. My reading brings into focus the author’s psychological intuition and considers new motivations behind his formal experimentation. Ultimately, by approaching trauma as both a clinical and formal entity, I establish a continuum between polarized views of trauma as either a biological reality or an aesthetic construct.Programa de Doctorat en Llengües Aplicades, Literatura i Traducci
