Relatório de estágio para obtenção do grau de mestre em Educação Pré-Escolar e Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico
Serve a elaboração do presente relatório para a obtenção do Grau de Mestre em
Educação Pré-Escolar e Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico.
Para o efeito, o mesmo encontra-se segmentado em três momentos
(Enquadramento Teórico, Enquadramento Metodológico e Intervenção Pedagógica)
alicerçados nas práticas pedagógicas vivenciadas na Educação Pré-Escolar (Sala dos
Sininhos, Infantário Semi-Internato de Santa Clara) e no 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico (2.º
ano A e 3.º ano B, Colégio Salesianos Funchal).
Deste modo, neste relatório estarão refletidas as práticas pedagógicas ocorridas ao
longo de todo o mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar e Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino
Básico.
A prática pedagógica I teve início no mês de novembro de 2020 e terminou no
mês de janeiro de 2021.
Por outro lado, a prática pedagógica II e a prática pedagógica III foram, ambas,
realizadas em contexto do 1º Ciclo, nas salas 2º A e 3.º ano A, com alunos de faixa etária
compreendida entre os 7 e os 8 anos e posteriormente entre os 8 e os 9 anos. A prática
pedagógica II teve início no mês de abril de 2021 e terminou no mês de junho do referido
ano. Já a prática pedagógica III, teve início no mês de outubro de 2021 e terminou no mês
de dezembro desse mesmo ano.
Por fim, o enquadramento teórico do presente relatório pretende refletir e
enaltecer o trabalho e a intervenção do educador de infância e do docente do 1º CEB,
sustentados pelos pressupostos legislativos. A parte metodológica do trabalho demonstra
a metodologia de investigação-ação e toda a restante metodologia que suportou as minhas
intervenções pedagógicas, a parte prática pretende apresentar todas as estratégias
utilizadas, observações, intervenções, ações e reflexões que decorreram no âmbito da
realização das práticas pedagógicas.This report is used for the purpose of obtaining the Master's Degree in Pre-School
Education and 1st Cycle Basic Education.
For this purpose, this report is divided into three moments (Theoretical Framework,
Methodological Framework and Pedagogical Intervention) based on the pedagogical practices
experienced in Pre-School Education (Sala dos Sininhos, Santa Clara Semi-boarding Nursery)
and on the 1st. º Basic Education Cycle (2nd year A and 3rd year B, Colégio Salesianos
Funchal).
In this way, this report will reflect the pedagogical practices that took place throughout
the master's degree in Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education.
Pedagogical practice I started in November 2020 and ended in January 2021.
On the other hand, the pedagogical practice II was carried out in the context of the 1st
Cycle, in the 2nd A classroom, with students aged between 7 and 8 years. This practice began
in April 2021 and ended in June of the respective year.
Finally, the theoretical framework of this report intends to reflect and praise the work
and intervention of the kindergarten teacher and the 1st CEB teacher, supported by legislative
assumptions. The methodological part of the work highlights the research-action methodology
and, finally, the practical part intends to present all the reflections, observations, interventions
and actions that took place in the context of carrying out the pedagogical practices
Microplastics reduce microalgal biomass by decreasing single-cell weight: the barrier towards implementation at scale
Microplastics (MPs) are a widespread environmental threat, especially to aquatic and urban systems. Water quality is
vital for biomass production in microalgal-based industries. Here, industrially relevant microalgae Tetraselmis suecica,
Scenedesmus armatus, and Nannochloropsis gaditana were exposed to PS- and PE-MPs (polystyrene and polyethylene, re spectively – 10-20 μm) contaminated waters (5 and 10 mg/L). Following industrial empirical and ecotoxicological pro cedures, the production period was established as four days (exponential growth phase). 27-long day experiments
were conducted to determine the chronic effects of MPs contamination in microalgal biomass yields. MPs induced
different responses in cell density: T. suecica decreased (up to 11 %); S. armatus showed no changes; and N. gaditana
increased (up to 6 %). However, all three microalgae exhibited significant decreases in biomass production (up to
24, 48, and 52 %, respectively). S. armatus exposed to PS-MPs and N. gaditana exposed to PE-MPs were the most im pacted regarding biomass production. The decrease in biomass yield was due to the reduction in single-cell weight
(up to 14, 47, and 43 %), and/or the production of smaller-sized cells (T. suecica). In response to chronic exposure,
microalgae showed signs of cell density adaptation. Despite cell density normalizing, biomass production was still re duced compared to biomass production in clean water. Computational modelling highlighted that MPs exposure had a
concentration-dependent negative impact on microalgae biomass. The models allow the evaluation of the systematic
risks that MPs impose in microalgal-based industries and stimulate actions towards implementing systems to contain/
eliminate MPs contamination in the waters used in microalgae production.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Discourse markers of extremist speech in religious discourse. A study of Pastor Steven Anderson’s online sermons
The aim of this dissertation is to find evidence of a pattern in the use of Discourse Markers,
indicative of suggestive language used for extremist and radical views. In order to better
understand how these Discourse Markers might be used and how to linguistically identify them in
written and spoken speech. Secondly, it will also attempt to understand how these Discourse
Markers, such as “look” and “you know” work in swaying the listeners/readers to the
speaker/writer’s favor. One hypothesis is the use of the DM “you know” as way to belittle the
dispute to the initial position supported by the speaker as to sway the listener/reader onto to the
speaker’s point of view. Another hypothesis is the use of the audience’s subconscious fears might
be used as a weak point to convert them.O objetivo desta dissertação é encontrar evidências de um padrão n o uso de Marcadores
Discursivos, indicativo de liguagem sugestiva utilizado para visões extremistas e radicais, a fim
de melhor entender como esses Marcadores Discursivos podem ser utilizados e como identificá los linguisticamente emes texto escrita e oral. Em segundo lugar, também tentará entender como
esses Marcadores Discursivos, como “look” e “you know” funcionam para influenciar os
ouvintes/leitores a favor do falante/escritor. Uma hipótese é o uso do Marcador Discursivo “you
know” como uma maneira de minimizar a validez do contra argumento utilizado contra a idea
defendida pelo orador, conseguindo converter o ouvinte/leitor ao ponto de vista do falante. Outra
hipótese será a utilização dos medos subconscientes do público como ponto fraco para os
converter
Levi and Harper identities for non-prioritized belief base change
In this paper, we investigate the relation between shielded base contraction postulates
and credibility-limited (CL) base revision postulates. More precisely, we identify (i) the
relation between the postulates satisfied by a shielded base contraction operator and the
postulates satisfied by the CL base revision operator that is defined from it by means of the
consistency-preserving Levi identity and (ii) the relation between the postulates satisfied
by a CL base revision operator and the postulates satisfied by the shielded base contraction
operator that is defined from it by means of the Harper identity. Furthermore, we show
that the consistency-preserving Levi identity and the Harper identity establish a one-to one correspondence between the twenty classes of shielded base contractions presented in

The use of chitosan oligosaccharide to improve artemisinin yield in well-watered and drought-stressed plants
Introduction: Artemisinin is a secondary metabolite well-known for its use in the
treatment of malaria. It also displays other antimicrobial activities which further
increase its interest. At present, Artemisia annua is the sole commercial source of
the substance, and its production is limited, leading to a global deficit in supply.
Furthermore, the cultivation of A. annua is being threatened by climate change.
Specifically, drought stress is a major concern for plant development and
productivity, but, on the other hand, moderate stress levels can elicit the
production of secondary metabolites, with a putative synergistic interaction
with elicitors such as chitosan oligosaccharides (COS). Therefore, the
development of strategies to increase yield has prompted much interest. With
this aim, the effects on artemisinin production under drought stress and
treatment with COS, as well as physiological changes in A. annua plants are
presented in this study.
Methods: Plants were separated into two groups, well-watered (WW) and
drought-stressed (DS) plants, and in each group, four concentrations of COS
were applied (0, 50,100 and 200 mg•L-1). Afterwards, water stress was imposed
by withholding irrigation for 9 days.
Results: Therefore, when A. annua was well watered, COS did not improve plant
growth, and the upregulation of antioxidant enzymes hindered the production of
artemisinin. On the other hand, during drought stress, COS treatment did not
alleviate the decline in growth at any concentration tested. However, higher
doses improved the water status since leaf water potential (YL) improved by
50.64% and relative water content (RWC) by 33.84% compared to DS plants
without COS treatment. Moreover, the combination of COS and drought stress caused damage to the plant’s antioxidant enzyme defence, particularly APX and
GR, and reduced the amount of phenols and flavonoids. This resulted in
increased ROS production and enhanced artemisinin content by 34.40% in DS
plants treated with 200 mg•L-1 COS, compared to control plants.
Conclusion: These findings underscore the critical role of ROS in artemisinin
biosynthesis and suggest that COS treatment may boost artemisinin yield in crop

Symptoms of Sarcopenia and Physical Fitness through the Senior Fitness Test
t: Introduction: Physical fitness concerns a set of attributes related to the ability to perform
physical activity that may justify the symptoms reported by the elderly in the context of sarcopenia.
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the perception (symptomatology)
of physical functioning (what the person thinks they are capable of) and the capacity itself for
physical functioning in elderly people in northern Brazil. Methods: Cross-sectional study that
analyzed 312 elderly people (72.6 ± 7.8 years) from the city of Novo Aripuanã, Amazonas, Brazil.
Sarcopenia symptomatology was assessed using the SARC-F, a 5-item questionnaire designed for
screening sarcopenia in older individuals in five domains: strength, walking aids, difficulty getting
up from a chair, difficulty climbing stairs, and falls. Physical fitness was assessed by the Senior Fitness
Test (SFT) battery including balance evaluated with the short version of the Fullerton Advanced
Balance scale (FAB). Results: ROC curve analysis revealed that the tests with the greatest ability to
discriminate participants with significant symptoms for sarcopenia (≥4 points on SARC-F) were arm
curl and 6 min walk: the probability of suspected sarcopenia increased exponentially with an arm
curl < 11.5 reps for men (se = 71%; sp = 69%; AUC = 0.706, 95% CI: 0.612–0.788; p = 0.013) and women
(se = 81%; sp = 51%; AUC = 0.671, 95% CI: 0.601–0.735; p ≤ 0.001) or with a 6-min walk <408.5 m
for men (se = 71%; sp = 63%; AUC = 0.720, 95% CI: 0.628–0.690; p = 0.001) and <366.0 m for women
(se = 69%; sp = 58%; AUC = 0.692, 95% CI: 0.623–0.755; p = 0.0001). Conclusions: Physical fitness
assessed through the senior fitness test, particularly the 30-s-arm curl test and the 6-min walk test,
can discriminate for suspected symptoms of sarcopenia.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
