Get PDFEste relatório de estágio tem como finalidade descrever e refletir criticamente sobre o
percurso formativo desenvolvido no âmbito do Mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar e
Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, na Universidade da Madeira. O trabalho centra-se
nas práticas pedagógicas realizadas em três contextos distintos: a primeira no contexto da
Educação Pré-Escolar, com crianças de 4 e 5 anos, e as duas seguintes em turmas do 2.º
e do 3.º ano do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico.
A estrutura do relatório organiza-se em três partes. A Parte I, de Enquadramento Teórico,
apresenta os principais documentos orientadores da prática educativa, o perfil profissional
do educador e do professor do 1.º CEB, bem como algumas estratégias pedagógicas
mobilizadas durante as intervenções. A Parte II aborda a metodologia de Investigação Ação, com destaque para as suas fases, os instrumentos de recolha de dados e os
procedimentos de análise. A Parte III reúne a descrição das intervenções pedagógicas,
tanto na Educação Pré-Escolar como no 1.º Ciclo, incluindo os momentos de
aprendizagem, os projetos desenvolvidos e a reflexão sobre a prática.
Na Educação Pré-Escolar, as atividades foram planificadas em articulação com a
educadora cooperante e integraram um projeto de Investigação-Ação centrado na criação
de uma horta pedagógica, envolvendo também a comunidade educativa. No 1.º Ciclo,
foram aplicadas estratégias lúdico-didáticas ajustadas às especificidades de cada turma,
promovendo aprendizagens significativas e adequadas às necessidades dos alunos.
Ao longo das três práticas, a intervenção foi orientada pela intencionalidade educativa,
pela escuta ativa e pela reflexão constante, valorizando o papel do aluno como
protagonista na construção do seu conhecimento, com vista a uma educação inclusiva,
participativa e promotora do desenvolvimento integral.This internship report aims to describe and critically reflect on the training path developed
within the scope of the master’s degree in Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st
Cycle of Basic Education at the University of Madeira. The work focuses on three
pedagogical practices carried out in different contexts: the first in Pre-School Education,
with children aged 4 and 5, and the other two in 2nd and 3rd year classes of the 1st Cycle
of Basic Education.
The structure of the report is organized into three main parts. Part I, Theoretical
Framework, presents the main normative documents guiding educational practice, the
professional profile of the early childhood educator and the 1st cycle teacher, as well as
some pedagogical strategies used throughout the interventions. Part II addresses the
Action Research methodology, highlighting its phases, data collection instruments and
analysis procedures. Part III brings together the description of the pedagogical
interventions, both in Pre-School and in the 1st Cycle, including learning moments,
developed projects and reflection on the practices.
In the Pre-School context, the activities were planned in collaboration with the
cooperating educator and included an Action Research project focused on the creation of
a pedagogical garden, which also involved the educational community. In the 1st Cycle,
playful and didactic strategies were applied, adapted to the specificities of each class,
promoting meaningful learning tailored to students' needs.
Throughout the three teaching practices, the intervention was guided by educational
intentionality, active listening and continuous reflection, always valuing the active role
of children and pupils in the construction of their own knowledge, aiming at an inclusive,
participatory education that fosters their overall development
Pascal Amanfo’s Nation Under Siege (2013) as an ideological discourse in the management of Boko Haram Insurgence in Nigeria
Get PDFThe persistence of violence in Nigeria’s socio-political space has called for
critical interventions of government and other stakeholders with a view to finding
solutions from ideological and combative fronts. Nollywood filmmakers have been
consistently intervening in national discourses aimed at ushering in peace and national
cohesion through the subject matter and themes of their films. Pascal Amanfo’s Nation
Under Siege (2013) is one of the Nollywood films that have intervened in ideological
discourse aimed at sustainable peace in Nigeria. With the tenets of psychoanalysis, the
article critiques the film’s focus on Boko Haram insurgents. With content analysis, the
article found that the film highlights the operative strategies of the insurgents and the
ineptitude of the government in the fight against them. The film, however, upholds the
view that ideological warfare should also be engaged in the fight against the insurgents
as underlined in the characterisation and role of Lina, a prostitute in the film. With the
topicality and relevance of the film to ideological discourse, Nollywood has come of age
considering the quality of its story and boldness to take risk in the face of state censorship.La persistance de la violence dans l’espace sociopolitique nigérian a nécessité
des interventions pertinentes du gouvernement et des autres parties prenantes afin de
trouver des solutions idéologiques et combatives. Les cinéastes de Nollywood
interviennent régulièrement dans les discours nationaux pour promouvoir la paix et la
cohésion nationale, à travers les sujets et les thèmes de leurs films. Pascal Amanfo Nation
Under Siege (2013) est l’un des films de Nollywood qui ont influencé le discours
idéologique visant une paix durable au Nigéria. S’appuyant sur les principes de la
psychanalyse, l'article critique l’accent mis par le film sur les insurgés de Boko Haram.
L’analyse de contenu révèle que le film met en lumière les stratégies opérationnelles des
insurgés et l'incompétence du gouvernement dans la lutte contre eux. Le film défend
cependant l’idée que la guerre idéologique doit également être engagée dans la lutte
contre les insurgés, comme le soulignent la caractérisation et le rôle de Lina, une
prostituée. Grâce à l’actualité et à la pertinence du film pour le discours idéologique,
Nollywood a atteint sa maturité, compte tenu de la qualité de son récit et de son audace

desenvolvida numa escola básica e secundária no concelho do Funchal, no âmbito do
Mestrado em Ensino de Educação Física nos Ensinos Básico e Secundário da
Universidade da Madeira, no ano letivo 2023/2024.
O intuito deste documento é expor, de forma contextualizada, o trabalho
desenvolvido ao longo do ano letivo, evidenciando as práticas pedagógicas
implementadas, os desafios enfrentados e as aprendizagens adquiridas. Este relatório
reflete o desenvolvimento de uma capacidade de análise reflexiva e crítica das
experiências vivenciadas, destacando a integração entre a teoria e a prática no processo
de ensino e aprendizagem e o impacto das atividades na formação integral dos alunos.
Por conseguinte, de forma a elencar com precisão as atividades realizadas, o presente
relatório expõe um conjunto diversificado de tarefas relacionadas com o estágio
pedagógico, nomeadamente a Prática Letiva, Atividades de Intervenção na Comunidade
Escolar, Atividades de Integração no Meio e as Ações Científico-Pedagógicas,
contribuindo para o desenvolvimento de competências essenciais para o exercício da
docência, como a gestão da turma, a comunicação e o planeamento.
Deste modo, o estágio pedagógico em Educação Física é essencial para planear,
implementar e avaliar os discentes nas aulas, tendo em conta a diferenciação pedagógica,
adaptando as estratégias às necessidades, níveis de habilidade e interesses dos alunos,
promovendo a inclusão e o fair play. Adicionalmente, o estágio evidenciou o papel da
Educação Física na formação integral dos discentes, fomentando o seu desenvolvimento
físico, emocional e social, bem como a adoção de valores éticos e a promoção de estilos
de vida saudáveis.
Posto isto, o presente relatório reflete um percurso de aprendizagem que contribuiu
para a consolidação de uma identidade profissional sólida e para a construção de práticas
pedagógicas que promovam uma Educação Física inclusiva e transformadora.This internship report is the result of an enriching experience developed in a basic
and secondary school in the municipality of Funchal, within the scope of the Master's
Degree in Physical Education Teaching in Basic and Secondary Education at the
University of Madeira, during the 2023/2024 academic year.
The purpose of this document is to contextualize and present the work carried out
throughout the school year, highlighting the implemented pedagogical practices, the
challenges faced, and the lessons learned. This report reflects the development of
reflective and critical analysis skills of the experiences undertaken, emphasizing the
integration of theory and practice in the teaching and learning process and the impact of
activities on the holistic education of students.
Accordingly, to accurately list the activities performed, this report outlines a diverse
set of tasks related to the teaching internship, including Teaching Practice, Community
Intervention Activities, Environmental Integration Activities, and Scientific-Pedagogical
Actions. These tasks contributed to the development of essential skills for teaching, such
as classroom management, communication, and planning
Thus, the teaching internship in Physical Education proved essential for planning,
implementing, and evaluating students in lessons, taking into account pedagogical
differentiation by adapting strategies to the needs, skill levels, and interests of students,
while fostering inclusion and fair play. Additionally, the internship highlighted the role of
Physical Education in the holistic education of students, promoting their physical,
emotional, and social development, as well as the adoption of ethical values and the
encouragement of healthy lifestyles.
In conclusion, this report reflects a learning journey that contributed to the
consolidation of a solid professional identity and the development of pedagogical
practices that foster an inclusive and transformative Physical Education
Servicescape e hospitalidade: um estudo sobre a perceção da qualidade no design de interiores de Nini Andrade Silva

no setor hoteleiro, com especial enfoque no trabalho da designer Nini Andrade Silva. O
servicescape, entendido como o ambiente físico em que os serviços são prestados, é
analisado através dos seus componentes ambientais, espaciais, simbólicos e sociais,
destacando o seu papel na criação de experiências únicas na hospitalidade.
A investigação centra-se como os estímulos sensoriais e visuais presentes nos hotéis
concebidos por Nini Andrade Silva influenciam a perceção dos hóspedes, o seu
comportamento e a qualidade percebida dos serviços. O servicescape é abordado como um
recurso estratégico, evidenciando-se como a integração de elementos culturais e identitários
pode reforçar a diferenciação competitiva e consolidar a imagem da marca hoteleira através
do espaço físico.
De forma específica, o estudo procura compreender como os elementos visuais e
sensoriais contribuem para o aumento da qualidade percebida, influenciando positivamente
a satisfação, a intenção de retorno e a lealdade dos clientes — fatores determinantes para
uma gestão hoteleira orientada para a qualidade.
A trajetória profissional de Nini Andrade Silva é explorada no que diz respeito à sua
formação e à forma como incorpora referências culturais e regionais nos seus projetos. A
análise revela que a fusão entre estética, funcionalidade e identidade local resulta em
experiências imersivas e distintivas, com forte impacto na perceção do valor do serviço.
A hipótese central sustenta que os ambientes visualmente sofisticados e
culturalmente enraizados concebidos por Nini Andrade Silva não apenas elevam os níveis
de satisfação dos hóspedes, como também reforçam a fidelização e a reputação das unidades
hoteleiras.
A metodologia adotada combina entrevistas com a designer e gestores hoteleiros,

design in the hospitality sector, with a particular focus on the work of designer Nini Andrade
Silva. Servicescape, understood as the physical environment in which services are delivered,
is examined through its environmental, spatial, symbolic, and social components,
highlighting its role in creating unique experiences in the hospitality industry.
The research focuses on how the sensory and visual stimuli present in hotels designed
by Nini Andrade Silva influence guest perception, behavior, and the perceived quality of
services. Servicescape is approached as a strategic resource, emphasizing how the
integration of cultural and identity elements can enhance competitive differentiation and
strengthen the brand image of hospitality establishments through the physical space.
Specifically, the study aims to understand how visual and sensory elements
contribute to increased perceived quality, positively influencing guest satisfaction, return
intentions, and customer loyalty — key factors for quality-oriented hotel management.
The professional background of Nini Andrade Silva is explored with regard to her
education and how she incorporates cultural and regional references into her projects. The
analysis reveals that the fusion of aesthetics, functionality, and local identity results in
immersive and distinctive experiences, with a strong impact on the perceived value of the
service.

Neural network-based model for bioinspired underwater propulsion systems
Get PDFResearchers have been studying animal propulsion mechanisms to develop
agile, efficient, and versatile biomimetic robotic systems for marine science,
industry, defense, and recreation applications. This project concerns the
development of an experimental methodology to analyze the propulsive
performance of a system inspired by fish caudal fin kinematics. The
experimental rig features a 3D-printed fin that oscillates with the help of a
servo motor, whose frequency and amplitude vary over time, creating multiple
test conditions. In the rig, a load cell is used to measure the thrust force
generated by the oscillation, and an electric current sensor is used to measure
the current consumed by the servo when making the movements. The data
extracted from these experiments are used to train a Kolmogorov–Arnold
Network (KAN), which learns to predict the thrust and power outputs of
the system based on input parameters such as fin amplitude, frequency, and
angular velocity. The results obtained offer experimental evidence supporting
the viability of using neural networks to model thrust and power in bio inspired systems, while providing valuable findings that may contribute to
the design and improvement of bio-inspired underwater propulsion systems.Mecanismos de propulsão animal têm sido estudados por investigadores
com o objetivo de desenvolver sistemas robóticos biomiméticos ágeis,
eficientes e versáteis destinados a aplicações nas áreas das ciências marinhas,
indústria, defesa e recreação. Este projeto visa desenvolver uma metodologia
experimental para analisar o desempenho propulsivo de um sistema
inspirado na cinemática da barbatana caudal de peixes. O banco de ensaio
experimental possui uma barbatana impressa em 3D que oscila com a ajuda
de um servomotor, que varia em frequência e amplitude ao longo do tempo,
criando múltiplas condições de ensaio. No banco de ensaio, uma célula de
carga é utilizada para medir a força propulsora gerada pela oscilação, e
um sensor de corrente elétrica é utilizado para medir a corrente consumida
pelo servo durante os movimentos. Os dados extraídos destas experiências
são utilizados para treinar uma rede de Kolmogorov–Arnold (KAN), que
aprende a prever a força propulsora e a potência do sistema com base em
parâmetros de entrada como a amplitude, a frequência e a velocidade angular
da barbatana. Os resultados obtidos fornecem evidências experimentais que
suportam a viabilidade da utilização de redes neuronais para modelar a
propulsão e a potência em sistemas bioinspirados, apresentando resultados
úteis que poderão contribuir para o projeto e a melhoria de sistemas de

Volatilomic fingerprint of tomatoes by HS-SPME/GC-MS as a suitable analytical platform for authenticity sssessment purposes
Get PDFTomatoes are globally esteemed not only for their nutritional value but also for their complex and appealing aroma, a key determinant of consumer preference. The present study aimed to comprehensively characterise the volatilomic fingerprints of three tomato species—Solanum lycopersicum L., S. lycopersicum var. cerasiforme, and S. betaceum—encompassing six distinct varieties, through the application of headspace solid-phase microextraction coupled with gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (HS-SPME/GC-MS). A total of 55 volatile organic compounds (VOCs) spanning multiple chemical classes were identified, of which only 28 were ubiquitously present across all varieties examined. Carbonyl compounds constituted the predominant chemical family, with hexanal and (E)-2-hexenal emerging as putative key contributors to the characteristic green and fresh olfactory notes. Notably, esters were found to dominate the unique volatile fingerprint of cherry tomatoes, particularly methyl 2-hydroxybenzoate, while Kumato and Roma varieties exhibited elevated levels of furanic compounds. Multivariate statistical analyses, including principal component analysis (PCA) and partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA), demonstrated clear varietal discrimination and identified potential aroma-associated biomarkers such as phenylethyl alcohol, 3-methyl-1-butanol, hexanal, (E)-2-octenal, (E)-2-nonenal, and heptanal. Collectively, these findings underscore the utility of volatilomic fingerprint as a robust tool for varietal identification and quality control within the food industry.</jats:p
Arquitetura para gestão eficiente de dados turísticos
Get PDFNos últimos anos, a digitalização tem vindo a revolucionar progressivamente a indústria do tu rismo, encaminhando-a para se tornar num setor cada vez mais inteligente. Tecnologias como IoT,
redes sociais e plataformas online personalizaram serviços, melhoraram a experiência do cliente e
otimizaram operações. Como consequência, surgiu um elevado volume de dados que se tem vindo
a tornar num ativo cada vez mais valioso. No entanto, este crescimento apresenta grandes desafios,
como a complexidade de armazenamento e processamento, a normalização de dados heterogéneos
e a análise em massa de forma eficiente.
Com foco nos dados turísticos, foi criada uma plataforma no âmbito do projeto SMARTDEST,
dedicada à recolha, gestão e disponibilização de dados, possibilitando uma análise detalhada das
tendências e dinâmicas de vários indicadores do turismo na Madeira. Contudo, a plataforma apre senta algumas limitações, como falhas no processo de recolha de dados, elevada complexidade na
integração de novas fontes, ausência de mecanismos de segurança e soluções de armazenamento
pouco escaláveis. Este trabalho propõe-se a reconstruir a arquitetura da plataforma, com especial
foco na recolha, tratamento e armazenamento de dados. O objetivo é superar as limitações anteri ormente identificadas, adotando tecnologias mais robustas e escaláveis que assegurem uma maior
eficiência e segurança do processo da gestão dos dados.In recent years, digitization has progressively revolutionized the tourism industry, leading it to be come an increasingly intelligent sector. Technologies such as IoT, social media, and online platforms
have personalized services, improved the customer experience, and optimized operations. Conse quently, a large volume of data has emerged, which has become an increasingly valuable asset.
However, this growth presents major challenges, such as the complexity of storage and processing,
the normalization of heterogeneous data, and efficient mass analysis.
Focusing on tourism data, a platform was created within the scope of the SMARTDEST project,
dedicated to collecting, managing, and providing data, enabling a detailed analysis of the trends and
dynamics of various tourism indicators in Madeira. However, the platform has some limitations,
such as failures in the data collection process, high complexity in integrating new sources, the
absence of security mechanisms, and poorly scalable storage solutions. This work proposes to
rebuild the platform’s architecture, with a special focus on data collection, processing, and storage.
The goal is to overcome the previously identified limitations by adopting more robust and scalable
technologies that ensure greater efficiency and security in the data management process
