Artykuł dotyczy ekslibrisów, jako zindywidualizowanych znaków własności książki, używanych przez posiadacza zbioru, który podkreśla ich bibliofilski stosunek do swojej biblioteki.An ex-libris is a personalised mark of ownership of a book, used by a holder of a collection, which highlights their bibliophilic attitude to their library. It becomes proof of a person’s distinctive connection with a book, as well as an expression of respect and diligence. In the past, it was meant to act as a reminder to return the copy, in a timely manner, to the person from whom it was borrowed. The ex-libris also identifies collections, protecting them against theft. Taking various shapes and forms, created in an ordinary or artistic fashion, it becomes a graphic ornament of a book, as well as a ‘portrait of the interests of a library’s owner’ (Encyklopedia wiedzy o książce). The aim of the article is to draft a panorama of the history of the ex-libris in Polish literature. Special attention is given to the most commonly appearing themes, depicted with specific examples, as well as to the contemporary changes and transformations of the ex-libris form. The article presents, among other aspects, the specifics of the bookplate. It also discusses the topics of memory and identification. It outlines an area known only to a particular group of readers, as well as promoting the creation of the ex-libris and encouraging the cultivation of this type of activit

Get PDFThe article analyses messianic and sarmatian themes in Jacek Dukaj’s Crux. The image of Poland presented in this science-fiction short story suggests areturn to national traditions based on the idea of social classes. The ruling class aspires to emulate the sarmatians but the results of their attempts at doing so are often grotesque. Meanwhile, people who live on social benefits display avery narrow world-view, making them easy to manipulate and take advantage of. Taking into account Polish national traits, the author predicts that Poles will follow yet another messiah, thus acting out an all-too-well-known scenario of uprisings and their tragic consequences.The main aim of the article is to describe both of the social classes portrayed by Dukaj, focusing on the figure of Crux, the messiah, as this is acharacter that occupies aspecial place in Dukaj’s short story

Get PDFAbstract: The issue of economic security of the state has always been an area of interest from an economical perspective, both from practitioners and theoreticians. Based on scientific discipline founded in the 1990s. It originates from the economics of defense and, indirectly, from war economics and investigates the irregularities between economy and national defense. Presently, the economics of security includes multi-dimensional considerations relating economic thoughts and policy. These are documented in domestic and foreign publications. Specifically, these identify the philosophy, development and potential shaping problems, while also examining the premises and foundations of the institutional approach taken towards the problems relating security economics and to the paradigm of novelistic institutional economics. Security economics, based on observations, attempts to develop utilitarian guidelines for solving economic and defense problems. These benefits of the State and its citizens in the field of military and economic coalition and also in the face of constantly emerging new civilization challenges.Streszczenie: Problematyka bezpieczeństwa ekonomicznego państwa od zawsze stanowiła obszar zainteresowania zarówno ekonomistów-praktyków, jak i ekonomistów-teoretyków życia gospodarczego. Jest młodą dyscypliną naukową powstałą w latach 90. ubiegłego stulecia. Wywodzi się z ekonomiki obrony, a ta z kolei z ekonomiki wojennej. Bada zależności i prawidłowości zachodzące pomiędzy gospodarką a obronnością państwa. Aktualnie umiejscowiona jest w sferze ekonomiki bezpieczeństwa, która – jako wielowymiarowa – uwzględnia pierwiastki rozważań nawiązujące do wielu kierunków myśli ekonomicznej oraz polityki gospodarczej. Merytoryczne i ekonomiczne osiągnięcia ekonomiki bezpieczeństwa widoczne są w publikacjach krajowych, jak i zagranicznych, a dla jej rozpoznania wymaganie jest z jednej strony przywołanie filozofii jej powstania, rozwoju i problemów kształtowania potencjału, z drugiej zaś zbadania przesłanek i rozpoznania podwalin instytucjonalnego podejścia do problematyki ekonomiki bezpieczeństwa oraz do paradygmatów nowelistycznej ekonomiki instytucjonalnej. Ekonomika bezpieczeństwa na podstawie obserwacji podejmuje próby wypracowania utylitarnych wytycznych dla rozwiązywania problemów gospodarczo-obronnych na rzecz interesów państwa i swoich obywateli w zakresie koalicji militarnej oraz gospodarczej i wobec nieustannie pojawiających się nowych wyzwań cywilizacyjnych

Zmieniał się on w tym czasie, upodabniając się do Kościoła katolickiego. Po 1795 r. unici znaleźli się głównie pod panowaniem rosyjskim. Władze carskie od początku dążyły do likwidacji Kościoła unickiego i włączenia jego wyznawców do prawosławia. Ostatecznie zostało to zrealizowane w 1875 r. Po tym roku Kościół unicki przetrwał tylko pod panowaniem austriackim. Tam jednak miał specyficzny charakter. Stał się jednym z filarów odrodzenia narodowego UkraińcówAbstract: The article shows the origin and activity of the Uniate Church. Until the fall of Poland, he could develop. He change at the time , becoming similar to the Catholic Church. After 1795, the Uniates found themselves mainly under Russian rule. From the very beginning tsarist authorities sought to liquidate the Uniate Church and inculde its followers in the Orthodox Church. They did it in 1875.
