Master tracks in different resolutions from POLAR 6 flight P6-257_IceBird_Winter_2025_2503290801

    No full text
Raw data acquired by GPS1 position sensors on board research aircraft Polar 6 during the campaign P6-257_IceBird_Winter_2025 were processed to receive a validated master track which can be used as reference of further expedition data. Novatel FlexPak6 GPS receiver was used as navigation sensors during the campaign. Data were downloaded from AWI Datamanagement System (https://dms.awi.de) with a resolution of 1 sec. Processed data are provided as a master track with 1 sec resolution and a generalized track with a reduced set of the most significant positions of the master track. A detailed report on processing is also available for each flight

Underwater sound data, recorded during a 18-month in situ experiment in Helgoland, Germany

    No full text
This dataset shows the hourly sound pressure magnitude data measured underwater throughout the 18 months of experiment (11th of May 2023 – 31st of August 2024) in Helgoland (Margate) for different frequencies (10 Hz, 20 Hz, 30 Hz, 40 Hz, 50 Hz, 60 Hz, 70 Hz, 80 Hz, 90 Hz, 100 Hz, 200 Hz, 300Hz, 400 Hz, 500 Hz, 600 Hz, and 700 Hz) recorded by the HFNI valvometer. The mean sound pressure magnitude is also presented. Missing data corresponds to the stop of recording of the valvometer

Chlorophyll a content of the benthic foraminifera Amphistegina lobifera exposed to electric current, April 2023

    No full text
This dataset contains measurements of chlorophyll a content, quantified by determining a change in the total pigments of the endosymbionts of the benthic foraminifera Amphistegina lobifera, exposed to electric currents over a one-month period. The data were collected in April 2023, the first of a two-part experiment, using a Tecan Spark plate reader operated with SparkControl v2.3. This dataset provides insights into the effects of electric currents on the physiological responses of the diatom symbionts of Amphistegina lobifera

Growth rate of the benthic foraminifera Amphistegina lobifera exposed to electric current, May 2023

    No full text
This dataset provides measurements of the growth rate of the benthic foraminifera Amphistegina lobifera, exposed to electric currents. The data were collected after a one-month period in May 2023 during the second of a two-part experiment. Growth measurements were taken from all individuals by capturing light microscope images (Zeiss Stereomicroscope Discovery.V8 and Canon EOS 600D camera) before and after the experiment, followed by analysis using ImageJ software. The diameter of each foraminifer was measured, and growth rates were calculated. This dataset presents results on the potential effects of electric currents in enhancing the growth of benthic foraminifera

Newly formed chambers of the benthic foraminifera Amphistegina lobifera exposed to electric current, May 2023

    No full text
This dataset provides measurements of the growth rate of the benthic foraminifera Amphistegina lobifera, exposed to electric currents, based on the number of newly formed chambers. Growth was assessed using the green calcein probe, a fluorescent compound. The data were collected after a one-month period in May 2023 during the second of a two-part experiment by counting calcein-labelled chambers under an epifluorescence stereomicroscope (Zeiss stereomicroscope Discovery.V8). This dataset provides insights into the potential effects of electric currents on the growth and calcification processes of benthic foraminifera
