Glacier surface velocities of Gepatschferner and Taschachferner, 2023/2024
Glacier surface velocities are measured on four neighbouring glaciers in the Ötztal Alps (Austria). Measurements of the annual horizontal flow velocity (Δs/a [m/a]) on Hintereisferner (HEF) were started in 1885 at stone lines (cross-profiles). Annual values for the stone lines are given as mean values from the stones at the cross-profiles. On Kesselwandferner, the annual horizontal (Δs/a [m/a]) and vertical velocities (Δv/a [m/a], positive upwards and negative downwards) are measured at ablation and accumulation stakes since 1965. On Taschachferner (TSF) and Gepatschferner (GPF), the records of annual and subseasonal horizontal flow velocities at ablation stakes were started in 2009.

Individual polychlorinated biphenyl congener air-water volatilization fluxes from the Portland Harbor, Portland, OR, 2018
We provide individual PCB congener airborne concentration data for 27 samples collected from 21 locations in 2022 at the Portland Harbor Superfund site and surrounding areas in Portland, OR, USA. Measurements were obtained using polyurethane foam passive air samplers (PUF-PAS) deployed for 43 days. Masses of individual PCB congeners measured in each PUF-PAS sample are included, along with masses from 12 laboratory blanks. Estimated effective volumes used to calculate airborne PCB concentrations from the collected masses are also reported. Additionally, PCB water emissions from the Portland Harbor for individual congeners were calculated using EPA-provided water concentration data from 2018
Atmospheric methane and carbon dioxide concentrations measured during ALKOR cruise AL575 on 2022-07-06
Atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) concentrations were monitored during AL575 cruise on 2022-07-06 using a cavity ring down spectrometer (Picarro G2301-f CRDS) and GEOMARs 'Atmospheric Intake System' (AIS). The Picarro/AIS system was installed in the wet laboratory (starboard, main deck) of RV ALKOR and was connected by an aluminium tube to an air inlet nozzle placed at the bow of RV ALKOR. The air was pumped via the AIS intake tube with a flow rate of 2.67 litre per minute to the Picarro analyser. The atmospheric CH4, CO2, and water vapour concentrations were determined in real time at 2-3 Hz sampling rate. A time offset of 87 seconds between the air intake nozzle at the bow (6 m above sea surface) and the actual gas measurement at the Picarro was determined and the calculated flow rate considered, when correlating the gas data with navigation and weather data provided by the WERUM dship repository (https://dship.geomar.de). The weather data is published separately at doi:10.1594/PANGAEA.983833

Weather data measured during ALKOR cruise AL575 on 2022-07-11
Weather data (atmospheric pressure, air temperature, humidity, wind direction and speed) were monitored during AL575 cruise on 2022-07-11 from the DWD weather station (EUropean Common Automated Weather Station, short EUCAWS) at about 23 m altitude and obtained via the WERUM dship repository (https://dship.geomar.de). The weather data was correlated to atmospheric methane and carbon dioxide measurements that are published separately at doi:10.1594/PANGAEA.982665

Video In Situ Snowfall Sensor (VISSS) data for Ny-Ålesund on 2024-09-17
The VISSS is a camera system recording precipitating snowfall from two perspectives. Here, movies and images of falling precipitation particles are provided for one day at station Ny-Ålesund. For further details on the VISSS see Maahn et al. (2024)
