This study investigates how companies can ensure successful implementa- tion of artificial intelligence (AI) by analyzing strategic, organizational, and cultural factors. AI is a key technology for innovation and efficiency, yet many organizations fail due to a lack of alignment in leadership, structure, and long-term planning. The main research question is: How can companies strategically and organizationally adapt to ensure successful AI implementation? The study is based on a systematic literature review of 37 peer-reviewed articles published between 2019 and 2024, collected from databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and IEEE Xplore. A thematic analysis was con- ducted to identify recurring patterns related to strategy, leadership, tech- nology, and organizational culture in the context of AI adoption. The results show that successful AI implementation requires a clear, data-driven strategy embedded in the business plan, active leadership, and effective change management. Companies that invest in internal AI capa- bilities, scalable infrastructure, data quality, and ethical AI governance are more likely to succeed. Furthermore, a company culture that fosters inno- vation and continuous learning plays a crucial role. This study demonstrates that AI adoption is not merely a technical task, but a multidimensional strategic and organizational process. Compared to previous research, it offers a more holistic view by integrating established frameworks such as the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Kotter’s 8-Step Model with empirical findings. Future research is encouraged to ex- plore case studies across industries and examine how AI governance and cultural transformation evolve over time
This study examines how automation and accounts payable processes can be streamlined with the help of AI through a potential integration within Dynamics 365 BC and ExFlow. AI has potential to enhance decision making, increase the proportion of Straight Through Processing (STP) and minimize workload. The research of the technical, economical and organizational requirements upon integration that occurs when integrating AI. Problem ExFlow offers a great automatisation solution for AP-processes ,however, many companies still manually complete their invoices which creates additional cost and delay. The potential within AI is huge and the fact that it can optimize ExFlow and degree of automation thus, therefore needs technical, economic and organization requirements to be addressed. Research Question The thesis research question: ”What technical, economical and organizational requirement need to be fulfilled for a successful AI-integration within ExFlow, and how can AI contribute in overcoming existing obstacles to enhance automatization and the efficiency of AP-processes.” Method This study uses a semi-structured interview approach. Interviewing 6 of SignUp Software´s customers and employees makes it possible to get discoveries from different perspectives which creates a general picture of a bigger perspective of possibilities within AI when integrating it into an ERP-system. This Study bases from the case study, where SignUp software contributed with concrete possibility of examination. The strategy applies trough intern and external viewpoints which strength the possibilities to identify requirement and obstacle upon AI integration. Results Results show how an AI integration in ExFlow carries both possibility and requirements with technical, economical and organizational character. The compilation of the interview in the thematic analysis shows how AI contributes with increased efficiency, refines functionality and onboarding-support. At the same time, obstacles arise like users not trusting AI, limited knowledge about AI, as well as concerns about data security. Discussion Implications of the result show how a successful AI integration in ExFlow, and the importance regarding technical solutions, support from the organization as well as commitment to a long-term investment. Requirements regarding knowledge within the area is seen as a crucial part of a successful integration, while seeing the integration as a long-term solution seems to be an important part of enhancing the AP-process. Further studies should focus on examining integration of AI in ERP-systems from a practical point of view, and identify AI-functionality rather than the intention of using AI
Utvärderingen gjordes med följande prestandamått: Area Under the Curve (AUC), Precision-Recall Area Under the Curve (PR AUC), Precision@k, Recall@k och F1-score@k. This study was conducted as part of a bachelor’s thesis project in collaboration with Trafikförvaltningen, Region Stockholm. It investigates how modern Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods can improve information retrieval from unstructured textual data. The aim is to explore how AI can be used as an effective tool to identify valuable feedback from passengers that can support the development of public transport. The main research question that the study is focusing on is: How effective are two modern AI methods in retrieving information from unstructured text data in the Kollbar survey? In addition, the study explores a sub-question: How can a Large Language Model (LLM) be used as a complementary step to further improve the performance of the most accurate method? A controlled experiment compared two search methods Vector Search with FAISS and Azure’s AI Search Hybrid, using real-world answers from the Kollektivtrafikbarometern survey focusing on the free-text responses. The evaluation was based on eight different queries, with topics related to public transport. Performance was evaluated using the following metrics: Area Under the Curve (AUC), Precision-Recall Area Under the Curve (PR AUC), Precision@k, Recall@k, and F1-Score@k. The results showed a general advantage for the hybrid method, although the performance between the two methods often showed marginal differences. An additional experiment was conducted to investigate whether using a Large Language Model (LLM) with AI Search Hybrid could further improve the performance by filtering the initial retrieval. To limit the amount of irrelevant data sent to the LLM while still capturing relevant responses, a threshold of 0.1 was set, as it provided a reasonable compromise between the two. Setting a threshold is also a way to maintain cost-efficiency when using LLM. This step of integrating an LLM into the pipeline further improved both accuracy and result quality. The findings indicate that the combination of AI Search Hybrid and LLM can be an effective tool for extracting valuable insights from unstructured textual feedback. More research is recommended in this fast-growing area. Evaluating new AI techniques is essential to better understand their strengths and limitations in different contexts. Future studies could involve testing the methods on additional datasets and with more complex and varied query types. It may also be valuable to explore different prompt formulations
Participation and Belonging in Swedish Friluftsliv : A Qualitative Study on The Experience of People with a Migration Background
This thesis investigates the attitudes and perceptions towards participation and belonging in Swedish Friluftsliv (outdoor recreation), with a particular focus on people with a migration background. Drawing on Critical Race Theory as well as social and environmental justice frameworks, the study addresses two research questions: (1) What are the socio-cultural barriers and motivators to the participation in Swedish Friluftsliv for people with a migration background? and (2) How do people with a migration background interpret and value nature and Friluftsliv? The research employs qualitative thematic analysis of data collected through nature walks and stakeholder interviews in Sweden, offering insights into the lived experiences of individuals from diverse ethnoracial backgrounds. The findings reveal that participants face shared challenges within Swedish Friluftsliv, despite diverse identities. A critical insight from this study is the persistent equation of Swedishness with whiteness and the construction of the outdoors as white spaces. Importantly, this study challenges the misconception that people with a migration background lack interest in nature-based outdoor recreation, demonstrating active engagement and a sense of nature-connectedness. The study concludes by recommending that further research should adopt an intersectional approach to inform more equitable policy and practice within Swedish Friluftsliv
Between ideals and reality : Municipal planners experiences with competing objectives in practice
Artificial Intelligence for Non-IT Retail Store Managers - Bridging the Gap for Technical Error Resolution
The retail sector plays a vital role in global economies but faces increasing challenges such as evolving customer expectations, complex inventory systems, and constant pressure to remain profitable. In this context, retail store managers—particularly those without IT expertise—must navigate operational complexities while addressing technical failures that can disrupt store performance. These issues often increase stress and divert attention from strategic, revenue-generating activities. To address this gap, the thesis investigates a central research question: How can AI solutions bridge the gap in technical error resolution for non-IT retail store management? The study adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data. Surveys were conducted with 50 non-IT-skilled retail store managers to gather insights on the nature and frequency of technical issues, current troubleshooting practices, and attitudes toward AI tools. In-depth interviews with 10 retail managers provided contextual understanding of their real-world experiences. A comprehensive literature review supported the primary research by examining existing AI applications in retail—such as predictive maintenance, real-time troubleshooting tools, and virtual assistants. The study also explored key barriers to AI adoption, including trust, usability, and training requirements. The results show that AI-driven solutions can significantly reduce store downtime, decrease reliance on external IT support, and improve the overall efficiency of retail operations. Managers reported that predictive maintenance and automated diagnostics were particularly useful, enabling them to manage technical disruptions independently. Additionally, user-friendly AI interfaces enhanced the customer experience by ensuring smoother store performance. The findings underscore the importance of tailored AI training and intuitive design for successful adoption among non-technical users. Moreover, the integration of AI tools fosters a more agile and responsive retail environment, enabling managers to make data-driven decisions in real time. Based on these insights, the thesis proposes a practical framework for integrating AI tools into non-IT retail settings, offering a pathway toward digitally empowered, stress-resilient retail management. The framework includes a phased implementation strategy, emphasizing change management and cross-functional collaboration to ensure long-term success. It also highlights the need for continuous feedback loops to adapt AI systems to store-specific contexts and evolving business needs. This research strengthens the link between technical challenges and managerial capability, positioning AI as a highly informative and empowering resource for the future of retail. It contributes to the broader discourse on digital transformation by focusing on the role of front-line managers in shaping AI adoption and success
Influences of Terror - Deciphering Terrorgram's Digital Communication
Information and communication technology has increased the likelihood of extremists creating transnational networks and spreading propaganda. One such extremist network is the Terrorgram Collective, a loosely connected network of far-right extremists that has evolved on the messaging platform Telegram since 2017. This thesis examines the propaganda magazines published by The Terrorgram Collective. Specifically, it analyzes the propaganda publication's linguistic alignment with alt-right and white supremacy, its primary themes, key targets, and visuals. This research aims to gain a deeper understanding of their ideological agenda. It also seeks to contribute to the broader body of knowledge that can inform future preventive measures aimed at mitigating the potential threats posed by such groups. The primary research question that the thesis seeks to answer is: How do the Terrorgram Collective’s propaganda publications use themes, symbols, and threat narratives to construct meaning and promote ideological violence? Three sub-questions further guide the research: What are the main themes and linguistic features of the Terrorgram Collective’s publications? What forms of threatening communication are used, and who are the primary target groups? What symbols and visual elements are used to express the group’s ideology? A document survey and a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative analysis, are employed to address the research questions. Specifically, the data is quantitatively analyzed using the Dechefr Workbench tool for content and linguistic analysis, as well as to flag threatening communication. The communication is manually annotated, and an image-based analysis is conducted of four official Terrorgram publications. The study finds that the main themes of the publications are weapons and military terminology , and alignment with both alt-right and white supremacy language is present. Furthermore, the study finds that the threatening communication targets both soft and hard target groups, where the largest soft target group is Individuals and Collectives , and that Power-Transportation and Infrastructure compose the largest hard target group. The image analysis finds that the propaganda messaging, to a large extent, uses far-right symbols and gamification of instructions for violent acts. By interpreting these findings through Ingram's framework on how propaganda messaging creates meaning, this study finds that the Terrorgram Collective uses meaning-creating rhetoric through the interplay of identity, crisis, and solution-enforcing messaging, both visually and textually. These findings suggest that Terrorgram's publications can be categorized as black propaganda. Thus, future research could explore mitigation techniques to prevent the spread of such propaganda and limit extremist-right radicalization
Interactional strategies in young Swedish L2 English learners' spoken interaction : A qualitative study
Interactional strategies are concerned with speaker-to-speaker interaction and referred to as strategies that speakers utilize to compensate for barriers in the communication in order to reach mutual understanding (Canale & Swain, 1980; Canale, 1983; Goh & Burns, 2012). These strategies are related to the process of second language acquisition and stated as a prominent teaching aim in the Swedish national curriculum of the English subject (Bardel, 2018; Duff & Surtees, 2018; Skolverket, 2022). However, there are relatively few studies that have focused on spoken interaction of young second language (L2) learners of English in Sweden. Therefore, this study aims to contribute to the field on how young Swedish L2 learners make use of interactional strategies by examining (1) what interactional strategies can be observed in students’ spoken conversations and (2) how these strategies are utilized by the students to overcome barriers in the conversations. This investigation, based on Dörnyei and Scott’s (1997) taxonomy of interactional strategies, was carried out at a Swedish secondary school in a 6th grade class of English learners in which four pair conversations were audio recorded and transcribed. The results display that the students in this study are able to make use of some interactional strategies (appeal for help, responses, asking for confirmation) and that the strategy-use is caused by a conversational problem related to lack of language knowledge or ideas. The results also show that there were cases of miscommunication despite the use of interactional strategies. Therefore, it is concluded that students at this grade level would need more teaching on how to make use of verbal strategies. Furthermore, students benefit from strategy training that combines practice of strategy use and metacognitive reflection on strategy function.
How Extramural English Activities Affect Swedish High School Learners’ Lexical Diversity
Extramural English (EE) is defined as linguistic activities that learners engage with outside the classroom in their spare time (Sundqvist, 2009). Various out-of-school EEAS (Extramural English Activities) influence learners and their learning. For a long time, learners received input on the target language from their teacher. Still, as times change and the revolution of modern technology continues to develop and grow all around the globe, the primary source of English has changed. This present study examines the relationship between EEAS and high school learners’ lexical diversity (LD) and their grades, using a mixed-method design of quantitative and qualitative methods: A questionnaire was created and presented to an ENG 7 class, and argumentative essays and grades from an ENG 7 class, were collected on the location (the high school). The purpose of the questionnaire was to gather information from one ENG 7 class and measure the amount of EEAS the participants interact with outside the classroom. The argumentative essays were chosen because they were the most recent essays the participants had written and represented the most authentic form of data on the learners’ recent development of their LD. The results showed a pattern between the participants’ EEAS and their LD. The EEAS of the 8 participants was measured in terms of Low, Medium, and High, depending on the number of hours the student spent on each EEA. However, this research examines other avenues and key factors that may also have an effect, such as the learners’ L1, L2, and L3. The conclusion is that, despite other key factors, EEAS has a positive influence and is an independent variable and should be seen as a possible route for learners to progress in English, regardless of their educational or language background. However, there remains a lack of research on the relationship between Swedish high school learners’ EEAS and their education. Therefore, more studies should examine different phenomena that occur regarding the EEAS relationship with Swedish High School learners
