The stars always make me laugh!
No full textA liberation process. A process of unlearning. A process of finding back. Back to the playfulness, joy and unconcern of a kid. The imagination and curiosity. Boundlessness. Finding back to these places where imagination and reality interfuse. Past, present and future intertwine. Dreams and memories seamlessly merge into one. Time ticks in a different way. Even fades away. Becomes unimportant. Trying to understand a language with help of another one. To understand the structure. The pattern. Transmitting and translating. Synchronising. Getting lost in between melodies. Feeling foreign. But finding home. Finding a way. Creating it. Constructing it. Like characters create a Word. Words construct a sentence. Sentences a text. Stories. Worlds. Worlds where everything can be anything. Where everybody can be anything. Everything is possible. Nothing confined. Limited. Worlds full of adventures and experiences. Every detail important. Care. Worlds where all the stress, pressure and request for efficiency and productiveness vanish. Where all the norms, demands and expectations disperse and give room for Wunder to unfold.
OASES IN EFFICIENT SPACES
No full textI denna design placeras skogsgläntan ut i stadsmiljö genom en naturridå och skapar en plats med ett rekreativt och rofyllt erbjudande. I likhet med en oas förmedlar gläntans kontrasterande upplevelse i en effektivt utformad omgivning med ständig puls en sinnlig stund av vila, trygghet eller samtal med andra som stannat upp. Gestaltningen är inspirerad av ett antal fascinerande naturupplevelser som formmässigt landade i en alternativ lummighet med vinterskrud. Gestaltningens inspiration och utformningen med växtmaterial uppmuntrar tillsammans till gemenskap med det vackra i naturen och även till gemenskap med andra, i utomhusmiljö. Både växtlighet och gemenskap har påvisade goda effekter för våra välmåenden, som utan att ofta prioriteras eller kalkyleras har ovärderlig betydelse för enskilda individer såväl som för ett större samhällsperspektiv. Kanske finns något att lära från naturens opåskyndeliga tillväxt som formar de mest fascinerande organiska och lugnande former när vi möter strikta och effektiva stadsrum. Stanna upp en stund och lägg märke till något som växer. I en speciell tid blir det särskilt viktigt att fylla sitt sinne med det som uppmuntrar, att se det vackra, att se andra såväl som att själv få bli sedd. Designförslaget är ett erbjudande om precis detta.In this design, the forest glade is placed in an urban environment in the form of a nature drop scene which is creating a recreational and peaceful contribution. Like an oasis, the contrasting experience of the forest glade in an efficiently designed environment with a constant pulse conveys an eloquent moment of rest, comfort or conversation with others who have paused. The design is inspired by a number of fascinating nature experiences that introduced an alternative lush form with winter vesture. Together, the inspiration of the design and the plant formations encourage fellowship with the beautiful in nature and also fellowship with others, in an outdoor environment. Both vegetation and fellowship have beneficial effects on our well-being, which without often being prioritized or calculated has invaluable significance for individuals as well as for a larger societal perspective. Perhaps there is something to be learned from nature's unhastenable growth that shapes the most fascinating organic and calming forms when we encounter strict and efficient urban spaces. Stop for a moment and notice something growing. In an extraordinary time, it becomes especially important to fill the mind with what encourages, to see the beautiful, to see others as well as to be seen. This is what the design is proposing
The Final Cut : Transformations of laser-cut textile surfaces for placemaking
No full textMy project explores the possibilities of shaping space using lightweight textile-based elements. The focus is on the transformation of surface patterns into three-dimensional forms, using analogue parametric design with laser-cut beds as a main testbed. The result is a smorgasbord of prototypes: spatial configurations that divide and define space. Each design is a permeable three-dimensional form that projects a unique pattern of shadow and light. The basis of my project comes from an initial investigation of Uppsala public libraries’ needs for flexible solutions. The libraries have housed many civic activities that I have experienced in recent years since moving to Uppsala in 2018. With their requirement of multiple types of use, I propose using fabric infrastructure as configurable room dividers. I use discarded textile (used carpets, fabric remnants) as the starting point for each prototype. The material itself imposes certain restrictions on the work. Each new piece of fabric acquired a problem waiting for a solution. In this sense, the finished prototype constitutes a solved puzzle. One key objective is to create designs that are flexible while still being robust enough to be portable. Another key objective is to create inviting and organic designs. While I used laser cutters to cut the fabric into precise patterns, I allowed gravity and light to create an imperfect and organic end-result. However, the outcome of my experimental exploration is a system and a technique for making use of discarded textile materials to create atmospheres and spaces

No full textIn my thesis, I work with the connection between the deathanxiety that I felt as a child and the climate anxiety that I feel today. I am probably not alone in looking at death as something abstract and unpleasant, and with the climate crisis around the corner, that feeling has intensified for me. Having the future of humanity fundamentally shaken makes me feel as small as when I was a child and understood how big the universe was when I looked out at the stars one starry night. In my thesis I write about the anthropocene and how man may have used Christianity to justify the exploitation of nature by putting himself above it. I write about how secular man separates himself from his mortality, by separating himself from nature. Through my craft, I want to investigate the relationship between people and nature. I want to let ceramics function as a material manifestation of the duality I experience exists between man and nature. I want to let the material function as a therapeutic mirror where my worries and my feelings, thoughts and ideas are thrown back at me in new formulations. By shaping nature, I hope to be able to examine my own relationship to nature, the inner nature of man and our own mortality, birth and decay.
“Before eye contact, it ́s like outfit contact” : Teenage identity creation with the help of visual attributes
No full textJag har intresserat mig för hur vi människor använder kläder för att uttrycka vår identitet och kommunicera med vår omgivning, medvetet och omedvetet. Vi förhåller oss alla till normer, olika sammanhang och grupper när vi väljer kläder. Man kan genom klädval visa vem man är; smälta in eller sticka ut. I mitt examensarbete har jag undersökt hur elever – som går bild-estetiskt pro- gram på gymnasiet – i årskurs tre förhåller sig till kläder. Gymnasietiden är en viktig fas för ut- forskandet av identitet. Eftersom elever spenderar så mycket tid i skolan sker också en stor del av identitetsutvecklingen där. Som blivande bildlärare har detta väckt ett intresse hos mig kring hur klädvalen manifesterar denna process. Genom intervjuer har jag försökt få en inblick i hur dessa elever tänker kring valet av kläder och stil samt vad det har för betydelse i deras identitetsskap- ande. Studien grundades på en kvalitativ metod med fem stycken semi-strukturerade intervjuer. Det teoretiska ramverket som låg till grund för uppsatsen var i huvudsak det dramaturgiska per- spektivet av Erving Goffman. Genom undersökningen har det framkommit att eleverna använder kläder som ett verktyg för att uttrycka identitet, de gör olika medvetna val när de väljer kläder för att kommunicera vilka de är och vill vara. Bild-estetisk linje möjliggör för eleverna att kunna klä sig som de vill eftersom det finns en tradition och norm på skolan att bild-esteter ska sticka ut i sin klädstil. Att handla second- hand blir ett sätt för eleverna att anpassa sig till sin grupp samtidigt som de kan uttrycka individu- alitet. De förhåller sig till olika sociala sammanhang samt kontext när de väljer kläder. Detta på- verkar också hur de väljer att framställa sig. Det som inspirerar eleverna allra mest i valet av kläder, är deras närmsta omgivning. Arbetet fick även ta sig uttryck i en gestaltning som visades på Konstfacks vårutställning 2021. Där ställde jag ut deltagarna i studiens outfitbilder samt min egen balklänning från min gymnasietid. Detta knöts ihop med en inspelning av en egenskriven, reflekterande text som växt fram under arbetsprocessen.

Jag växte upp i en idyllisk och konservativ villaförort i norra Stockholm, där man förväntades vara som normen. Jag hade svårt att passa in och flydde istället in i min fantasi och det var då jag började läsa serietidningar
Posthuman Conceptions of Change in Empirical Educational Research
No full textIn this special issue of Reconceptualizing Educational Research Methodology the focus is on posthuman conceptions of change in empirical educational research. In the six included papers, the authors address and challenge different aspects of change in different educational settings – ranging from preschools, to universities and public pedagogies. Through activating posthuman perspectives, the papers invite the reader to a wide range of understandings of the concept of change. A conclusion drawn from the papers is that when working with posthuman change in empirical educational research, change becomes highlighted as a methodological endeavour while simultaneously being engaged with as processes of transformations in the educational practice. What is specifically emphasized is that through posthuman conceptions, change is not something out there to be found, but an emergent phenomenon that unfolds as we explore it
