No full textDie Berichterstattung der überregionalen Wochen- und Tagespresse (Die Zeit, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung) sowie der Lokalberichterstattung (Hanauer Anzeiger) über den rechtsterroristischen Anschlag in Hanau am 19.02.2020 ist Gegenstand des Beitrags. Die zentrale Frage lautet, inwiefern sich die Berichterstattung an der sozialen Realität der postmigrantischen Gesellschaft orientiert: Kriterien, die dafür an eine „diversitätsbewusste“ Berichterstattung angelegt werden, werden aus dem Forschungsstand zu Diversität im Journalismus einerseits und einer interdisziplinär fundierten Diskussion des Diversitätsbegriffs andererseits entwickelt. Befunde der wissenssoziologisch fundierten diskursanalytischen Untersuchung der Daten (675 Artikel im Erhebungszeitraum 19.02.2020 bis 29.02.2024) strukturieren wir in diesem Beitrag entlang folgender Fragen: Auf welche Weise(n) wird Rassismus aufgerufen und in seiner gesellschaftlichen und politischen Verankerung thematisiert? Gelingt eine anerkennende Repräsentation von Betroffenen ohne „Othering“ und Hierarchisierung? In welcher Weise gelingt ein „Geltendmachen pluraler Existenz“ in der Presseberichterstattung, indem Zugehörigkeit(en) zu einem „diversen Wir“ entworfen oder aber Exklusionen vorgenommen werden

No full text'A trustworthy representation of uncertainty is desirable and should be considered as a key feature of any machine learning method' (Huellermeier and Waegeman, 2021). This conclusion of Huellermeier et al. underpins the importance of calibrated uncertainties. Since AI-based algorithms are heavily impacted by dataset shifts, the automotive industry needs to safeguard its system against all possible contingencies. One important but often neglected dataset shift is caused by optical aberrations induced by the windshield. For the verification of the perception system performance, requirements on the AI performance need to be translated into optical metrics by a bijective mapping (Braun, 2023). Given this bijective mapping it is evident that the optical system characteristics add additional information about the magnitude of the dataset shift. As a consequence, we propose to incorporate a physical inductive bias into the neural network calibration architecture to enhance the robustness and the trustworthiness of the AI target application, which we demonstrate by using a semantic segmentation task as an example. By utilizing the Zernike coefficient vector of the optical system as a physical prior we can significantly reduce the mean expected calibration error in case of optical aberrations. As a result, we pave the way for a trustworthy uncertainty representation and for a holistic verification strategy of the perception chain

No full textIn dieser Arbeit wird ein umfassender Überblick über die Entwicklung und die gegenwärtige Bedeutung von Anonymität im Internet, einschließlich des Dark Nets, gegeben. Durch die Analyse verschiedener wissenschaftlicher Arbeiten beleuchten wir die vielschichtigen Aspekte und Auswirkungen der Anonymität im Web. Wir diskutieren technische Mittel zur Wahrung der Anonymität, wie den Tor- Browser und VPNs, und betrachten die sozialen Implikationen von Anonymität auf individueller, gruppenspezifischer und politischer Ebene. Besonderes Augenmerk liegt auf den positiven und negativen Folgen von Anonymität, insbesondere in Bezug auf Datenschutz, Meinungsfreiheit und Cyberkriminalität. Unsere Analyse verdeutlicht, dass Anonymität im Internet ein komplexes Phänomen ist, das je nach Nutzung positive und negative Effekte haben kann. Diese Arbeit schließt mit einem Ausblick auf zukünftige Forschungsrichtungen ab, unterstreicht die Notwendigkeit einer ausgewogenen Betrachtung und diskutiert die Herausforderungen bei der Bekämpfung von Cyberkriminalität im Dark Web, während gleichzeitig die Privatsphäre und Sicherheit der Nutzer geschützt werden.This work provides a comprehensive overview of the development and current significance of anonymity on the Internet, including the dark net. By analysing various scientific papers, we shed light on the complex aspects and effects of anonymity on the web. We discuss technical means of maintaining anonymity, such as the Tor browser and VPNs, and consider the social implications of anonymity on an individual, group and political level. Particular attention is paid to the positive and negative consequences of anonymity, especially in relation to data protection, freedom of expression and cybercrime. Our analysis makes it clear that anonymity on the Internet is a complex phenomenon that can have positive and negative effects depending on how it is used. This paper concludes with an outlook on future research directions, emphasises the need for a balanced view and discusses the challenges of combating cybercrime on the dark web while protecting user privacy and security

No full textPerceived safety has received attention in the digital transformation of healthcare. However, the impact of perceived safety on the future of digital transformation has not been fully elucidated. To investigate perceived safety in the context of the digital transformation of healthcare while considering relevant needs, influencing factors and impacts, including crisis events, to provide recommendations for action based on a participatory, multiperspective, strategic 5-year foresight viewpoint. A strategic foresight study is conducted via a participatory mixed-methods design to understand the present related factors that are likely to be relevant to future developments in the digital transformation of healthcare.ResultsWe observed that feeling safe plays a complex role in the digital transformation of healthcare. How perceived safety is considered has and will continue to impact the individual, organisational and system levels. Regarding a potential crisis event, controversial consequences have been observed. At its core, digital (health) literacy related to equity of access and human support is one of the crucial aspects in the context of perceived safety related to the successful implementation of digital technologies in healthcare. The scenarios showed that a continuation of the current situation over the next 5 years may result in partly desirable and partly undesirable outcomes. Concrete key factors should be used in practice to support both education and healthcare quality development and research. The essence of the scenarios should serve as a starting point for research agenda setting and political decision-making in the future. However, additional research is needed to quantify the correlations among the relevant factors
