十勝地域における畑作物の技術的・経済的性格の特徴と作付選択の実態に関する研究 : 畑作・酪農混合地帯と酪農地帯の比較
application/pdf本稿では,十勝地域における畑作物の技術的・経済的性格の特徴と作付選択の実態について,経営耕地総面積に対する畑面積が40~80%程度の畑作・酪農混合地帯と,同面積が40%以下の酪農地帯の比較から,当該地域における畑作経営の特徴を明らかにした。分析は,2015年以降における畑作物の作付構成の変化および技術的性格については10a当たり収量,10a当たり労働時間の比較,経済的性格については,1kg当たり販売価格,10a当たり農業所得を用いて,その特徴を明らかにするとともに,当該地域におけるJAおよび農家の作付け選択に係る意向から,条件不利地域における畑作物の作付実態を明らかにした。結果から,十勝地域内の畑作・酪農混合地帯や酪農地帯などといった,畑作経営における条件不利地域での畑作物の作付選択については,一定程度の所得確保のため,地域内の農業法人らと連携し,農業所得が高水準である根菜類,特にてん菜を基幹作物とすることで,効率的な収益確保を達成することを目的とした営農が実施されていることが明らかになった。departmental bulletin pape
Report on the Current Situation of the English Resource Center in a Small Japanese University and its Future Plan
application/pdfThe English Resource Center (ERC) was established in 2009 in order to accommodate the students needs to have a focal point of learning English in Obihiro University. During the COVID-19 pandemic time, it was forced to close for three years. When the restriction was lifted, the ERC reopened in the Spring term of 2023. English lunchtime chats and borrowing English books, which were offered from before the pandemic, restarted, and the students began to come back. However, the ERC needs some modifications, such as English writing support, other language resources and study abroad programs, in order to support the students' evolving demands and requirements.イングリッシュ・リソース・センター(ERC)は英語教育の中心となるため学生の必要性に応じ、2009年に帯広畜産大学に設立された。新型コロナ感染症対策のため、3年間閉室を余儀なくされた。感染症対策が緩和され、2023年春再び開室した。コロナ以前に行っていたイングリッシュランチ、英語図書の貸し出しを再開すると、学生たちが戻ってきた。しかし、ERCは時代と共に変わりゆく学生たちの需要に合わせ、英語ライティング、他の言語のサポート、留学プログラムなどの改革を必要とする。departmental bulletin pape
SNSにおけるメキシコ・ナショナリズムの否定的な諸側面 : 2020年東京五輪大会におけるナショナリズムと外国人排斥表現の談話分析
application/pdf東京オリンピック2020 年大会で史上初めてメキシコの女子ソフトボール代表チームが参加した。そのほとんどの選手が二重国籍であった。当初、国内メディアは注目していなかったが、SNS上で多くのメキシコ人のユーザーが代表チームを応援していた。本稿では、メキシコ・オリンピック委員会のツイッターの公式アカウントにユーザーが投稿したコメントの談話分析を行い、代表選手の二重国籍の性質をめぐる論争に注目した。その結果、2 つの正反対なナショナリズムの表現を確認することができた。1 つは、二重国籍選手を自国の誇りと認識するタイプであった。もう1 つは拒絶反応を示す排他的なものであった。これらは双方とも日常のナショナリズム [banal nationalism] の表現である。すなわち、ユーザーはSNS 上で日常生活における自己アイデンティティを定義し、外部の世界と関係を持っていたことを意味する。For the first time in history, a Mexican women’s national softball team participated in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Most of the team’s players had dual nationality. Initially, the domestic media did not pay attention to the event, but many Mexican social media users supported the national team. This paper conducted a discourse analysis of the comments posted by users on the official Twitter account of the Mexican Olympic Committee, focusing on the controversy surrounding the nature of the team’s dual nationality. The research identified two contrasting expressions of nationalism: one group accepted the dual nationality athletes and viewed them as a source of pride for their country, and the other rejected them and held a clearly xenophobic position. Both expressions of nationalism were examples of everyday nationalism (banal nationalism), as users defined their self-identity on social media and in relation to the outside world.departmental bulletin pape

Efficacy Validation of SARS-CoV-2-Inactivation and Viral Genome Stability in Saliva by a Guanidine Hydrochloride and Surfactant-Based Virus Lysis/Transport Buffer
application/pdfTo enhance biosafety and reliability in SARS-CoV-2molecular diagnosis, virus lysis/transport buffers should inactivate the virus and preserve viral RNA under various conditions. Herein, we evaluated the SARS-CoV-2-inactivating activity of guanidine hydrochloride (GuHCl)- and surfactant (hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride (Hexa-DTMC))-based buffer, Prep Buffer A, (Precision System Science Co., Ltd., Matsudo, Japan) and its efficacy in maintaining the stability of viral RNA at different temperatures using the traditional real-time one-step RT-PCR and geneLEAD VIII sampleto- result platform. Although Prep Buffer A successfully inactivated SARS-CoV-2 in solutions with high and low organic substance loading, there was considerable viral genome degradation at 35 _C compared with that at 4 _C. The individual roles of GuHCl and Hexa-DTMC in virus inactivation and virus genome stability at 35 _C were clarified. Hexa-DTMC alone (0.384%), but not 1.5 M GuHCl alone, exhibited considerable virucidal activity, suggesting that it was essential for potently inactivating SARS-CoV-2 using Prep Buffer A. GuHCl and Hexa-DTMC individually reduced the viral copy numbers to the same degree as Prep Buffer A. Although both components inhibited RNase activity, Hexa-DTMC, but not GuHCl, directly destroyed naked viral RNA. Our findings suggest that samples collected in Prep Buffer A should be stored at 4 _C when RT-PCR will not be performed for several days.journal articl

application/pdfPolia nebulosa and Hyboma adaucta (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) were collected from nest boxes of the Siberian flying squirrel Pteromys volans orii (Mammalia: Rodentia: Sciuridae) in Obihiro, Hokkaido, Japan. This is the first record of moths collected from nests of flying squirrels (tribe Pteromyini). These two species probably used the nests of P. volans orii as overwintering sites since all the moths found were in an overwintering state when collected, both moth species do not feed on detritus, and the temperature in the nests is assumed to be higher than that of the outside.journal articl
Housing Systems Affect Eggshell Lightness and Free Amino Acid Contents of Egg Albumen in Tosa-Jidori Chickens: A Preliminary Research
application/pdfMany countries have gradually shifted to animal welfare-friendly housing systems for egg layers. However, there is still no consensus among researchers on whether the housing system affects egg quality traits. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effects of housing systems on egg traits and free amino acid contents of albumen and yolk using two types of housing systems, the conventional cage (cage) system and a floor rearing (litter) system. Tosa-jidori (n = 20) hens were divided into two groups. Experiments during the 7 weeks were performed twice by switching the housing systems (first and second stages). One-way analysis of variance was used to evaluate the effects of housing systems on body weight gain, egg traits, albumen and yolk amino acid contents, and fecal corticosterone. We observed significant housing effects in body weight gain, eggshell weight, yolk weight, eggshell thickness, eggshell lightness, and several albumen amino acids (A_Gln, A_His, A_Met, A_Cys, A_Lys, A_Asp, A_Glu, A_Ser, A_Thr, A_Ala, A_Pro, and A_Phe). Notably, a robust effect was seen in eggshell lightness, even after switching housing systems. These results suggest that eggshell lightness and several egg traits, including albumen amino acid contents, can be changed by using the different housing systems.journal articl
