A new integrated rough multi-criteria decision-making model for enterprise resource planning software selection

    Get PDF
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is widely used to boost the total market power of businesses. The wrong selection is one of the key reasons why ERP installations fail. Due to the complexity of the business environment and the range of ERP systems, choosing an ERP system is a complex and time-consuming procedure. ERP alternatives may be assessed using several criteria, so the ERP selection process may be considered a multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) problem. In this study, the rough best worst method (BWM) was used to determine criteria weights, while the newly developed rough integrated simple weighted sum product (WISP) was used to rank ERP alternatives. Results suggest that the SFT -4 coded software is regarded as the best option, followed by SFT -5, SFT -6, SFT -2, SFT -3, and SFT -1. Results of the newly developed rough WISP method are compared to those of existing rough techniques in the sensitivity analysis. The differences between them have been found to be negligible. The outcomes show how effectively developed rough BWM and WISP integrated method performs in terms of ERP selection with usability, accuracy, ease of use, and consistency. This study will help decision-makers in a context where ERP is implemented choose the best ERP software for different sectors

    Get PDF
Aim: The present systematic review explored the impacts of perceived locus of control on PTSD among individuals experiencing disasters. Method: This is a systematic review study carried out through a search of the relevant research published in English over the period December 2021 to April 2022. Accordingly, we sought the studies to review on the Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane and Google Scholar databases using the keywords Child, Children, Adolescent, Adolescence, Adult, Aged, Elderly, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD, Internal-External Control, Locus of Control, Disasters, Natural Disasters. Results: A total of 1.011 studies were found in the five databases using the keywords above. Following the exclusions, the remaining six studies were recruited for this systematic review. The six studies in question addressed earthquakes (2), hurricanes (1), wildfires (1), SARS (1) and fireworks explosions (1). In the study with wildfire survivors, there was a weak significant association between external locus of control and PTSD among those directly exposed to the disaster (r = .15, p < .01). The study with survivors of the SARS epidemic demonstrated that those with a high perceived chance (external) locus of control suffered PTSD (p = .001). An internal locus of control is considered important in preventing PTSD, although an external locus of control appears to be a variable that causes/increases the prevalence of PTSD. Conclusion: It was concluded that perceived locus of control is related to PTSD in individuals experiencing a disaster. The additional evidence was that post-disaster PTSD among those with a high perceived external locus of control is stronger than those with a high perceived internal locus of control

In this research, it is aimed to examine the texts in secondary school science textbooks in terms of values education. In this regard, eight textbooks at the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade levels used in the 2022-2023 academic year were examined. In the current study, document analysis, one of the qualitative analysis methods, was used and descriptive analysis was used in the data analysis of the study. For descriptive analysis, the themes and categories in Koltaş's (2020) values evaluation scale were used. The codes were determined jointly by an expert and two researchers. The research consists of ten root values included in the science curriculum updated in 2018. These root values are: Friendship, honesty, justice, self-control, love, respect, responsibility, patience, helpfulness and patriotism. Nkod software was used in this research. The books were coded separately, from beginning to end, using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC software, by two researchers and an expert, taking into account 10 root values, sub-dimensions and codes. These codings were then uploaded to Nkod software in pdf format. Using Nkod, the codings were converted into a tabular .csv format. After the necessary corrections in this .csv file using the Microsoft Excel program, value coding and frequency values were calculated. Then, graphs were obtained by creating percentages of the frequencies related to the values.5th, 6th, 7th grades accepted by the Ministry of Education. It was determined that there were a total of 1694 value expressions in science textbooks at the and 8th grade levels. The most value statements were included in the 5th grade textbook. The minimum value expression is a textbook for the 7th grade level. The values determined according to the units differed from each other. Considering all the textbooks included in the study, it was determined that there were values of honesty and patience that were not included at all. The values in the science textbooks at the 5th grade level could not be directly determined in the text. It can be determined by making inferences in semantic context. The most used root values in science textbooks created by two different publications at the 5th grade level are responsibility (74.30%), helpfulness (11.34%), justice (8.49%), respect (3.00%), and patriotism (2.31), self-control (0.23). The most commonly used root values in science textbooks created by two different publications at the 6th grade level are responsibility (78.89%), helpfulness (14.38), respect (3.33%), justice (1.91%) and patriotism. (0.95%), love and friendship (0.23%). The most used root values in science textbooks created by two different publications at the 7th grade level are responsibility (93.49%), helpfulness (5.51%), love (0.52%), patriotism and justice (0.26%). truck. The most commonly used root values in science textbooks created by two different publications at the 8th grade level are responsibility (88.67%), helpfulness (8.27%), patriotism (1.96%), justice (0.43%). respect (0.65%). The least used values in textbooks at levels (5-8) are 0.17% (3) love, 0.17% (3) friendship, 0.06% (1) self-control. The most frequently mentioned values are responsibility, 83.47% (1414), and helpfulness, 12.16% (168). As a result of the research, the distribution of root values varies according to grade levels in the textbooks examined. Another result was that the root values of honesty and patience were not included in the books. It will be especially beneficial for students to include different root values in the texts and activities at each grade level. Arrangements need to be made to create activities and texts that include different root values

Heterodera schachtii (Schmidt, 1871) (Nematoda: Heteroderidae) is one of the most widespread plant-parasitic nematodes (PPNs) associated with cabbages, which cause severe yield losses in cruciferous vegetables. This study aimed to improve the current understanding of the prevalence and detection of H. schachtii in the cabbage-growing areas of Ni & gbreve;de Province, T & uuml;rkiye. Field surveys were conducted between November and December 2021, and 100 soil samples were collected immediately after cabbage harvesting. Heterodera schachtii populations were identified by morphological and morphometric methods along with Internal Transcribed Spacer of the ribosomal region (ITS-rDNA) and Cytochrome Oxidase Subunit (COI-mtDNA) sequencing. The mean body length of H. schachtii was 463 +/- 7 mu m, while stylet and hyaline length ranged between 20.7-27.8 mu m and 20.1-32.1 mu m, respectively. Nearly half of the surveyed areas were infested with H. schachtii with a 41% incidence rate. However, the Merkez District had the highest proportion of infested fields with an over 51% incidence rate. The population density was determined in 41 samples with a mean of 79.5 cysts per 250 g of soil. These results will help to determine the control and management strategies of H. schachtii. This study is a part of Gulsum Badel Akyol's thesis at the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences of Nide omer Halisdemir University

    Get PDF
In this study, bacteriophages specific to Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains were isolated from wastewaters, and their potential to be used as a bioprotective in chicken meat was investigated. Then, among the 35 isolated bacteriophages, two phages (vB_PaeS-K10 and vB_PaeS-K13) with a wide host cell range and strong clear plaque formation were selected and their morphological, physical-chemical, and genetic properties and their inhibitory effects against the host cell in chicken meat were determined. As a consequence of the examination by TEM (transmission electron microscopy), vB_PaeS-K10 and vB_PaeS-K13 phages belong to the family Siphoviridae of the order Caudovirales. The genome size, multiplicity of infection value, latent period, burst time, and burst size of vB_PaeS-K10 phage were 54.20 kb, 10, 75 min, 30 min, and 34.86, respectively, whereas those of vB_PaeS-K13 phage were 44.06 kb, 0.01, 20 min, 35 min, and 35.95. Both of them were resistant to high temperature and entirely active between pH 3 and 12, and the rate of absorption of the phages against their host cells increased with Ca2+ ions. Lytic activity test revealed that both phages reduced host cell density in LB broth at 4 degrees C and 37 degrees C. Moreover, vB_PaeS-K10 and vB_PaeS-K13 phages lethally infect P. aeruginosa at 4 degrees C in chicken meat, and this situation is the evidence of their potential to be utilized as bioprotective in chicken meat.Unit of the Scientific Research Projects of Nigde Omer Halisdemir University [GTB 2019/01-BAGEP]This study was a part of the project supported by the Unit of the Scientific Research Projects of Nigde Omer Halisdemir University (Project No: GTB 2019/01-BAGEP)

Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) is an important crop throughout the world and is one of the most important industrial raw materials. It is very important to characterize the available cotton germplasm aiming to identify novel genetic and genomic resources that can be used for future cotton breeding. Keeping this in view, a total of 179 cotton genotypes were characterized with the inter-primer binding site (iPBS) retrotransposon marker system. Seven iPBSretrotransposon primers yielded a total of 134 scoreable bands and among these, 128 bands were polymorphic. The mean polymorphic bands per primer were 18.28, with values ranging between 16 and 21. The mean polymorphism rate of 7 iPBS retrotransposon primers was calculated as 96.28%. The polymorphism information content value varied between 0.31 and 0.46 with an average of 0.395. Genetic similarity was calculated using the POPGENE software and values ranged between 0.320 and 0.955. Population structure and neighbor-joining analysis divided the evaluated germplasm into two populations. The analysis of molecular variance revealed that maximum variations (96%) are due to differences within the populations. The information presented here has comprehensively demonstrated the potential of iPBSretrotransposon markers in detecting genetic diversity and phylogenetic association analyses of cotton. This knowledge will be helpful for future cotton breeding.Scientific Research Project Coordination Unit of Nigde Omer Halisdemir University; [TGT 2020/22-LUETEP]This research (Project Number: TGT 2020/22-LUETEP) was funded by the Scientific Research Project Coordination Unit of Nigde Omer Halisdemir University

This study examines and evaluates the processes of communication technology transfer and adoption during the last century of the Ottoman Empire, 1823-1923. To this end, the adoption processes of four technologies, the postal system, telegraph, telephone, and the printing press, are examined in detail. The objective is to explain the underlying reasons for technology adoption by the government by using a historical perspective. In general, the study's primary purpose is to examine the effect of technology on administrative processes historically. The findings of the study show that these communication technologies were instrumental. First, they connected the Ottoman countryside to the Imperial Capital (Istanbul) for administrative and military purposes, making it easier for the central Ottoman Administration to control the Empire. Second, they were instrumental in integrating the Empire's economy into the global capitalist economy, and along the way, transforming the Ottomans into a de-facto semi-colony. The impact created by these technologies, which were used for administrative centralization provides important lessons for current technological transformation processes
