Effects of the support provided by nurses to children with medical complexity in regular schools in City A – Report of two interview surveys –
No full textapplication/pdf【要旨】A市の通常学校で医療的ケア児を支える看護師に，2016年と2022年の2度にわたりインタビュー調査を実施し，看護師の支援の足跡について明らかにした。
看護師が行う医療的ケアは，学校生活を主体にして集団の場を配慮して実施しており，医ケア児が周りの児童・生徒とともに学習できるように，学校生活に適応できることを意図して支援していた。教諭の医ケア児への不安や戸惑いについては，身体の状況や緊急時の対応について説明したり，複数人による協力体制を提案するなど，教諭が安心して医ケア児に関われるように支援体制を整えていった。リスクの伴う授業や課外活動についても，できないことは可能にする開拓精神を持ち，医ケア児が安全に参加・体験できるように，看護師の専門的な知見や工夫を凝らし教諭とともに支援してきたことが明らかになった。Abstract: This study conducted interview surveys twice of nurses supporting children with medical complexity attending regular schools in City A in 2016 and 2022, and identified the effects of their support activities.
The nurses participating in this study provided medical care mainly in school life by considering the group setting, aiming to enable children with medical complexity to adapt to school life and to study together with other children/students around them. For the anxiety and confusion that teachers had toward the children with medical complexity, the nurses explained about their physical conditions and how to respond to emergencies, proposing the teachers to respond to these children by collaboration among the teachers. Further, the nurses worked to establish a support environment with arrangements enabling the teachers to have confidence in the work with these children. For occasions where coursework and extracurricular activities involve risks to the children with medical complexity, the nurses worked with teachers to enable the children to participate in and experience such activities by using their professional knowledge and ideas with a pioneering spirit to make what appears impossible possibl.departmental bulletin pape
