    Elucidating How Environment Affects Patterns of Network Change: A Case Study of the Evolution of an Industrial Network in the Flat Panel Display Sector

    [[abstract]]As science and technology policy-makers focus on understanding how industry networks evolve, this study discusses how environmental changes affect the evolution of industrial networks, especially in the flat panel display (FPD) sector. By investigating different environmental scenarios, it can be shown that changes of environmental munificence and environmental uncertainty simultaneously affect industrial network transition and reshape distinctive network formations. Data from 71 countries from 1976 to 2008 have been examined to empirically evaluate their network relationships. This study, thus, demonstrates a longitudinal evolutionary trajectory for the FPD industry and locates the essential transition of technological competition via international technological coevolution. The analytical results demonstrate that different environmental scenarios provide different opportunities for countries to develop their niche competence in the FPD industry. Our findings provide insightful implications for policy-makers and business practitioners involved in dynamic and competitive global industries similar to FPD.[[note]]EconLi

    [[abstract]]後疫情全球化下,導致既有教育活動的空間概念為之改變:由群聚到分隔、由實體到虛擬。然而早在全球疫情爆發之前,現階段「數位原生世代」的資訊活動模式已悄然改變;由早期資通環境,所形塑以「中心化」為發展概念的「學習管理系統(LMS)」,現今則漸轉移至「去中心化」為發展概念的「社群網絡系統(SNS)」。是故、此演變實為「科學、科技與社會(STS)」論題。本研究之目的,在於探索舊教育活動空間概念已漸解構之後,而所蘊孕之新空間概念為何?而科學、科技與社會三者再整合後,其教育內涵之發展為何?為此,本研究對數位時代下,教育環境之整體發展,具有其前瞻探索。本研究之方法,乃應用「行動者網絡理論(ANT)」來發展,透過大學外語課程教學為田野調查,分析行動主體們(entities)之嬗變歷程。本研究不僅形塑出「轉譯之OPP架構」,並再解析其上位結構,透過Nonaka「知識場論」與Bourdieu「實踐論」之觀點,探索其轉變之意涵。本研究之發現:(一)、由中心化到去中心化的行動者網絡變遷,其歷程在資訊科技對於教育與社會展現出新的樣貌;由管道價值拓展至內容價值。(二)、新世代數位混成教學上,師生在數位活動空間中,皆為資訊的收授者,然其個人數位素養之差異,會反應在知識交流效果。新世代數位教學場域,呈現出行動者(actants)間因資通科技而演化出去中心化的新秩序,以此為新的教育治理議題,故本研究得出三種層次的結論:(一)、「新-數位落差」的意涵在於「數位素養」的差距,此可為新世代教育的重點。(二)、數位混成學習的轉變意涵在於促進知識場的SECI螺旋效果,使之加速教學效能。(三)、數位社會的演進在於「象徵資本」的著重,為此可茲為教育「數位轉型」的開端。[[abstract]]The post-COVID, our domestic life has changed, including the cognition of educational space: from clustered to separated, and from physical to virtual. Nevertheless, the present generation, the digital natives, has lived in the Neo digitized society. The learning management system (LMS) was developed by the early information technology, which characterizes the Centralize networking. However, information technology has improved and allows network players to Decentralize interaction; the social network system (SNS) is a typical example. This change thus implies an issue to Science, Technology, and Society (STS). This study aims to explore the essence of neo-educational space and the pedagogical implication on STS transformed after the previous institution was gradually deconstructed. Thus, this study can provide a prevision and preparation to the future society. Through the Actor-Network Theory (ANT) procedure, the field study is practiced on the college foreign language course, which exhibits actor-network translation (OPP framework) and abstracts the ontological structure. And then, the implication of changes was concluded by using the theory of the Knowledge Ba (Nonaka) and the Practice (Bourdieu). The result manifests two findings. First, the actors in the decentralized network, the value propositions ware changed, revealing an expansion paradigm from the institutional function to informational content. Second, in cyberspace, Neo-blended education is the most concerned about personal digital literacy, affecting knowledge interaction and conducting the difference in individual learning efficacy. The new order, the decentralization of Neo-blended education, was emerged due to the information technology enhancement and actors network evolution. This study concludes three previsions. First, the Neo-digital divide had referred to the personal difference in digital literacy that allows authorities priority concerned. Second, the implication of Neo-blended education can accelerate SECI knowledge spiral and enhance learning efficacy.     The innovative fulcrums of technological interdisciplinarity: An analysis of technology fields in patents

    [[abstract]]Technological interdisciplinarity and integrative development have been issues of academic discourse for some time; several studies have contributed to the investigation of techno-society and technology development. Nevertheless, the interdisciplinary technology present in a patent system remains insufficiently explored. This study examines the patents in the USPTO database from 2001 to 2014 that identifies unique structural configurations of various technology fields. The study result finds the brokerage of technological positions perform an innovative fulcrum for interdisciplinary innovation, strategizing several important innovative capabilities. Furthermore, the technological embeddedness incubates innovative capacity; technological push and pull promotes the process of endogenous, exogenous, and heterogeneous innovation and technological evolution. Therefore, this study addresses implications to both theory and practice in sustaining innovative capabilities.[[note]]SSC
