    Descattering for transmissive inspection in production line using slanted linear image sensors

    We propose a descattering method that can be easily applied to food production lines. The system consists of several sets of linear image sensors and linear light sources slanted at different angles. The images captured by these sensors are partially clear along the direction perpendicular to the sensors. We computationally integrate these images on the frequency domain into a single clear image. The effectiveness of the proposed method is assessed by simulation and real-world experiments. The results show that our method recovers clear images. We demonstrate the applicability of the proposed method to a real production line by a prototype system.journal articl

    Overexpression of AHL9 accelerates leaf senescence in Arabidopsis thaliana

    Background: Leaf senescence, the fnal stage of leaf growth and development, is regulated by numerous internal factors and environmental cues. Ethylene is one of the key senescence related hormones, but the underlying molecular mechanism of ethylene-induced leaf senescence remains poorly understood.Results: In this study, we identifed one AT-hook like (AHL) protein, AHL9, as a positive regulator of leaf senescence in Arabidopsis thaliana. Overexpression of AHL9 signifcantly accelerates age-related leaf senescence and promotesdark-induced leaf chlorosis. The early senescence phenotype observed in AHL9 overexpressing lines is inhibited by the ethylene biosynthesis inhibitor aminooxyacetic acid suggesting the involvement of ethylene in the AHL9-associated senescence. RNA-seq and quantitative reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR) data identifed numerous senescence-associated genes differentially expressed in leaves of AHL9 overexpressing transgenic plants.Conclusions: Our investigation demonstrates that AHL9 functions in accelerating the leaf senescence process via ethylene synthesis or signalling.journal articl
