本研究では,HMD を用いた AR 環境においてスマートウォッチを入力装置としたタッチタイピング可能 (手元のキーを見ること無く入力が可能) な文字入力システムを提案する.まず,本システムにおける仕様を決めるため,「キーレイアウト」「スマートウォッチが上下反転したときの挙動」「入力候補の選択方法」に関する 3 つの予備実験を行った.次に,日常生活で起こり得るシナリオでの利用を想定した姿勢で本システムの利用評価実験を行った.評価実験の結果,普段から QWERTY 配列キーボードを利用し,日常的にスマートウォッチを身に付けている,AR-HMD に慣れたユーザを対象に日常利用における提案手法の有用性が確認された.conference pape

医学応用のための自然言語処理(医療言語処理)には質の高いアノテーション済みコーパスが必要となる.本研究では,医療言語処理の中でも応用事例の多い固有表現認識と関係抽出を統合的に取り扱う,汎用的な臨床医学テキストアノテーション仕様とその作業ガイドラインの設計について報告する.本仕様では類似の臨床医学テキスト向けアノテーション仕様を統合し,多くの医療言語処理応用に有用な情報をコーディングできる汎用的なエンティティ及び関係を定義した.ガイドラインには医学知識に基づく判断が必要なアノテーションを減らすことで非医療従事者でも作業できる工夫を施し,実行可能性を高めることを目指した.これらの過程では言語処理研究者,医学専門家,アノテーション作業者の三者を交えた反復的な議論プロセスを採用し,実例に基づいて仕様・ガイドラインを整備しつつコーパス規模も拡大させた.本ガイドラインに基づくアノテーションを重篤肺疾患患者の診療録・読影所見 3,769 件に付与するにあたり,まず半量が済んだ段階で予備的な固有表現・関係抽出モデルを作成し,残りをこのモデルによる自動アノテーションの修正作業に切り替えることで効率化を図ったところ,アノテーションの一貫性も向上した.また最終的なコーパスで訓練した固有表現・関係抽出モデルは実用も期待できる性能に達していることを示した.journal articl
Phenolic signals for prehaustorium formation in Striga hermonthica
Striga hermonthica is a root parasitic plant that causes considerable crop yield losses. To parasitize host plants, parasitic plants develop a specialized organ called the haustorium that functions in host invasion and nutrient absorption. The initiation of a prehaustorium, the primitive haustorium structure before host invasion, requires the perception of host-derived compounds, collectively called haustorium-inducing factors (HIFs). HIFs comprise quinones, phenolics, flavonoids and cytokinins for S. hermonthica; however, the signaling pathways from various HIFs leading to prehaustorium formation remain largely uncharacterized. It has been proposed that quinones serve as direct signaling molecules for prehaustorium induction and phenolic compounds originating from the host cell wall are the oxidative precursors, but the overlap and distinction of their downstream signaling remain unknown. Here we show that quinone and phenolic-triggered prehaustorium induction in S. hermonthica occurs through partially divergent signaling pathways. We found that ASBr, an inhibitor of acetosyringone in virulence gene induction in the soil bacterium Agrobacterium, compromised prehaustorium formation in S. hermonthica. In addition, LGR-991, a competitive inhibitor of cytokinin receptors, inhibited phenolic-triggered but not quinone-triggered prehaustorium formation, demonstrating divergent signaling pathways of phenolics and quinones for prehaustorium formation. Comparisons of genome-wide transcriptional activation in response to either phenolic or quinone-type HIFs revealed markedly distinct gene expression patterns specifically at the early initiation stage. While quinone DMBQ triggered rapid and massive transcriptional changes in genes at early stages, only limited numbers of genes were induced by phenolic syringic acid. The number of genes that are commonly upregulated by DMBQ and syringic acid is gradually increased, and many genes involved in oxidoreduction and cell wall modification are upregulated at the later stages by both HIFs. Our results show kinetic and signaling differences in quinone and phenolic HIFs, providing useful insights for understanding how parasitic plants interpret different host signals for successful parasitism.journal articl

Clear Fundus Images Through High-Speed Tracking Using Glare-Free IR Color Technology
Fundus images contain extensive health information. However, patients hardly obtain their fundus images by themselves. Although glare-free infrared (IR) imaging enables easy acquisition of fundus images, it is monographic and challenging to process in real-time in response to high-speed and involuntary fixational eye movement and in vivo blurring. Therefore, we propose applying our IR color technology and providing clear fundus images by high-speed tracking of involuntary fixational eye movements and eliminating in vivo blurs by deconvolution. We tested whether the proposed camera system was applicable in medical practice and capable of medical examination. Fusogenic Hybrid Extracellular Vesicles with PD-1 Membrane Proteins for the Cytosolic Delivery of Cargos
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are cell-derived lipid membrane capsules that can deliver functional molecules, such as nucleic acids, to target cells. Currently, the application of EVs is limited because of the difficulty of loading cargo into EVs. We constructed hybrid EVs by the fusion of liposomes and insect cell-derived EVs expressing recombinant programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) protein and baculoviral fusogenic glycoprotein gp64, and evaluated delivery of the model cargo molecule, Texas Red-labeled dextran (TR-Dex), into the cytosol. When PD-1 hybrid EVs were added to HeLa cells, the intracellular uptake of the hybrid EVs was increased compared with hybrid EVs without PD-1. After cellular uptake, the PD-1 hybrid EVs were shown to be localized to late endosomes or lysosomes. The results of fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) indicated that membrane fusion between the hybrid EVs and organelles had occurred in the acidic environment of the organelles. When TR-Dex-loaded liposomes were fused with the PD-1 EVs, confocal laser scanning microscopy indicated that TR-Dex was distributed throughout the cells, which suggested that endosomal escape of TR-Dex, through membrane fusion between the hybrid EVs and acidic organelles, had occurred.
