名古屋工業大学　極微デバイス次世代材料研究センターは、学内共同教育研究施設として、
「極微細な構造をした新規半導体材料及び新機能デバイスの研究開発並びに産業・生産技術に
直結した技術の確立等を行い、もって教育・研究の進展に資すること」を目的として2015年4月1
日に発足しました。本センターは、従来の極微デバイス機醜システム研究センターの設置期間満
了(2003年4月　-2015年3月)に伴い、そこでの12年間の研究成果を基にして上記目標を実現
すべく設立されたものであり、現在にいたっております。
研究体制は教授1名、准教授1名、事務補佐員1名、非常勤研究員5名の専任者と併任のセン
ター長から構成されています。
この報告書第八巻では、この1年間に行ってきた窒化物系半導体の材料研究、光・電子デバイ
ス-の応用を目的とした材料の研究およびシステムの研究に分けて成果をまとめております。
今後も学術ばかりでなく産業界にも貢献でき右よう開かれた研究開発を行っていく所存です。内
外の関係各位のご指導・ご援助に厚く御礼申し上げると共にこ今後とも私供の活発な活動を見守
り下さいますようお願い申し上げます。

The Research Center for Nano Devices and Advanced Materials was established on April 1 ,
2015. The purpose of this center is to conduct research on physical properties of materials with
micro-structure (nano一軍tructure) and their application to electronic and photonic devices, taking
over research壷orks "Heteroepitaxial Crystal of Micro-Structures", I-Basic Characterization''and
I-Device Fabrication and its characterization" studied in the previous Research Center for
Nano-Device and System.
This volume 8 includes a review paper summarizing the research results as stated in the
title, IStudy on AIGalnN/GaN HEMTs on single-crystal AIN substrate". Apart丘om the review
mentioned above, papers on materials and devices of GaN in this financial year are collected.
My deepest appreciation goes to the researchers at home country and overseas for their
contributions, encouragements and constant support to maintain the research activities of this
center.

Cooperation Without Words?
Currently, deliberative democracy is attracting attention as a 
normative democracy theory. Deliberative democracy is a model in 
which people manage the politics of society and coexist through 
language. The purpose of this paper is to present a theoretical 
hypothesis on what it means for people to coexist through language. 
In doing so, we will examine institutionalism and morality as models 
of non-verbal coexistence, respectively. These considerations will 
clarify that human language plays an important role in both 
institutions and morality. It is then argued that when "we" and "they" 
who do not share the same morality coexist, it is important that the 
otherness of "they" be maintained. The paper concludes by 
presenting the conflicting possibilities of deliberative democracy as 
a verbal coexistence mechanism.
