The effects of written languaging on new essay writing：a qualitative analysis
Get PDFAccording to Swain（2006）, providing learners with the opportunity to language about or reflect on their developing linguistic knowledge in the course of L2 learning mediates L2 learning and development. In second language acquisition（SLA）research, languaging（e.g., collaborative dialogue, private speech）has been suggested as playing a crucial role in learning a second language（L2）. This study explored the effects of written languaging（ i.e., written self-explanations） about written corrective feedback provided on draft essays written by 24 Japanese learners of English. The effect of written languaging was assessed by new essay writing. The effect of written languaging in improving accuracy depended on error types such as articles and conditionals. In this article, I argue that L2 teachers may wish to ask their students to reflect, in diaries, journals, and portfolios, on the linguistic problems they have encountered during classroom activities.departmental bulletin pape

近世移動学の構築に向けての試論 : ユーラシア世界の「人の移動と交流」に関する統合的整理の試み
Get PDFIt is true that human migration is a ubiquitous phenomenon in human history, but in a certain epoch it had characteristic features. This paper attempts to examine the nature of the period from the 17th century to the third quarter of the 19th century, generally viewing the movement of people not only inside the Eurasian world but also between Eurasia and the New world.
Many historians have considered the 17th century as the time of “global crisis” when a lot of wars and revolts broadly happened, damaging the traditional international system and requiring its reorganization. At that time both in Western Eurasia and Eastern Eurasia the presence and the framework of each territorial state were strengthened, which seems to have forced some people to migrate in the several ways, i. e., avoiding the religious oppression given by the “dominant” sect and leaving their homelands. War prisoners produced in the increasing military campaigns were also looked upon as one of the patterns of forcible migrations. At the same time, the establishment among the East Asian states of the system of sending the castaways back to their native countries depended on the reorganization of the international order in this area.
Such compulsory nature of human migrations, which seemingly continued to be seen until the middle ofthe 19th century, was affected by the underdevelopment of the measures and the infrastructures related to transportation and communication. Under such situation it was supposedly difficult for the ordinary people to travel, especially abroad. Therefore, the traffic revolution after the 1850s changed the flow of migrants and stimulated the development of the new industries supporting the travelers. Additionally the abolition of slave trade and slavery, which was legislated until the 1830s, but was barely realized in the latter half of the 19th century, seems to have lightened the forceful character of the human transfers.departmental bulletin pape
宇宙の実験教室-12：「未来の教室」における天体観察授業
Get PDFAstronomy education in schools is extremely challenging, since nighttime phenomena such as the observation of the starry sky must be taught during the day. To observe stars in a classroom, the MUE Mobile Telescope controlled by mobile terminals via the internet was developed. The pervasiveness of the internet and mobile terminals promotes an ICT environment in school education. In “future classrooms,” where students have their own tablet terminals, the observation of stars using the mobile telescope has been performed. The system requirements to realize the observation are; (1) all students can access to the control PC of the telescope, (2) only one student can control the telescope, and (3) a teacher can manage the access rights of students. To achieve this, the two-stage remote desktop systems are applied. The first stage is applied between the telescope control server and a teacher’s PC, while the second stage is applied between the teacher’s PC and all the students’ tablets. TeamViewer is utilized for the second-stage remote desktop to fulfill the requirements. The observation of stars using this system was performed with 19 students in December 2017. As a result, ease of use of the mobile telescope improved, and the merits of observation using a mobile telescope were deeply understood by students.departmental bulletin pape

学内での留学生と日本人学生の交流を目指した短期留学プログラムの開発
Get PDF日本国内では、グローバル化が進んでおり、学校現場も例外ではない。宮城教育大学では、グローバル化に対応できる教員を育てるために、海外経験を持つ学生を全体の₂割にすることを目指しているが、実際には海外に行く機会がない学生のほうが圧倒的に多い。そこで、短期間であっても海外からの留学生を受け入れることで、日本人学生に留学生と学内で交流する機会を提供したいと考え、短期留学プログラムの開発を試みた。本稿では、本プログラムの概要と参加者及び日本人学生ボランティアからの評価をもとに、本プログラムの意義について検討した。departmental bulletin pape
