The following study examines the problems regarding injuries in division II or III ice-hockey. The amount of injuries in this sport is high and when considering the effect on society something needs to be done in order to change it. Ice-hockey is a fast sport with body-checking being allowed. This leads to a number of injuries with shoulder injuries being one of the most common. The aim of this study was to examine if any preventive training is being used regarding shoulder injuries in division II or III. The study also examines which possibilities could be used in order to enable a larger amount of preventive training. Five trainers were interviewed, and all of these trainers had at least one year of experience being a trainer in division II or III. The theory considering organizational culture was used in order to better understand how the culture affects the game of ice-hockey. The culture was here considered important due to the fact that it affects how the sports works and why a certain behavior is used. The gathered information in this study was analyzed through a direct thematic analysis. With this, themes and categories could be developed with the aim of answering the questions asked in this study
Western paternalism in Africa - A Comparative Case Study of Nigeria and The Republic of Niger on Gay Rights
This thesis examined the influence of Western paternalism on the adoption of gay rights by Nigeria and the Republic of Niger. It seeks to provide an answer to the research question: How has Western paternalism determined Nigeria and the Republic of Niger's positions on the adoption of gay rights? The opposition of gay rights is widespread among African countries, and existing research is yet to provide an encompassing explanation for the trend. This study used the Linkage and leverage theory of Levitsky and Way (2010) to expand on research gaps found in previous literature. This thesis argues that the position of African nations on gay rights depended on their Western Linkage and Leverage from Western and non-Western external powers. A comparative, qualitative analysis of Nigeria and the Republic of Niger showed that both countries have strong Western Linkage and Leverage from Western countries. However, Nigeria has been able to resist the pressure to adopt gay rights because of its alternative leverage with non-Western countries like China and its vast oil reserve. The findings also provide further theoretical insights into the linkage and leverage concept, and it makes recommendations for further studies
Purpose: This study´s purpose is to explore the different aspects necessary for high performing sports clubs at elite level bases in small communities in Sweden. The study has a certain focus on the organisational part of each club to see how the organisation is structured, by using Mintzberg´s organizational theory.
Methodology: Three sports clubs took part in this study: Mjällby AIF (Football), Tingsryds AIF (Ice Hockey) and Åby/Tjureda IF (Bandy). We also interviewed journalists with knowledge about the sports clubs to help us widen our perspectives.
Theory: The results have been analysed with Mintzberg´s organizational theory, as well as Local Identity and Performance Management.
Results and conclusion: We discovered several different aspects that can be considered to why these sports clubs are successful, the local identity and culture, economy, strategies and goals and the structure of the organisations were the main themes. The clubs were structured in different ways, which made us think that a successful sport club in Sweden choses the best and most efficient structure that suits their own reality. The conclusion was that the results differed between the sports, the common denominator was the strong local identity that every club had
The Greenlandic Paradox - Greenlandic autonomy under Danish monarchy
While the general attitude towards Danish influence in Greenland is negative, the general
attitude towards the Danish royal family is positive. This thesis seeks to uncover the
paradoxical Greenlandic discourses by tracing the emergence and development of
royalism in Greenland from the early colonial period until today. The underlying
methodological framework is constructivism, while the method is Discourse Historical
Analysis. The analysis is conducted by chronologically comparing and analyzing the
Greenlandic discourse about the monarchy in relation to the discourse of the monarch
family concerning Greenland. By drawing on the theories of 'Arctic-orientalism' and
Pratts' theory of 'contact zones,' this study highlights how variations occur in the colonial
relation of Denmark and Greenland. Despite the legacy of Danish colonialism, the
changes in the Monarch family's discourse towards the Greenlandic people have
strengthened a Greenlandic discourse of kinship to Denmark

Play for the Black Box — Using Critical Play to raise awareness of data privacy issues
In the development of digitally connected solutions that require the use of personal data, the issue of data privacy is an important factor that must be taken into account. Simply informing users about how data is used and getting their consent with a simple click is not enough to create awareness of the issue of data privacy and let them make a conscious decision about the use of their personal data. Furthermore, there is a big gap in knowledge about what personal data is and what is considered sensitive data. Especially the knowledge about what biometric identifiers that they are used in a variety of everyday life applications and in which sense the handling can be problematic is unknown.
This thesis project explores how the use of critical play in form of an activist game can create awareness of the issue of data privacy, inform about the value of biometric data and foster self-reflection of handling one’s own personal data. Through the simulation of dependencies between personal data, the motivation to share them and the aggregation of personal data in combination with real and prospective use cases, players are empowered to reflect on their behaviour and to critically deal with the topic of data privacy
Effects of emotions in journalism due to the Coronavirus Era
This research study explores the emotional landscape of the Coronavirus outbreak in two
online news brands, British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and The Telegraph in the
United Kingdom. By examining the content of articles according to the eight primary
emotions (fear, surprise, sadness, disgust, anger, joy/happy, trust, anticipation), of two online news brands, in order to understand to what extent did the BBC and The Telegraph online newspapers use the emotional words and which are the most dominant in their articles during the Coronavirus outbreak. The chosen research period was from 16th March to 6th April. It was selected due to the high amount of articles that were written at the early stage of the outbreak but also concerning the lockdown situation of the country after 23rd of March. A content analysis was conducted to answer the above research study. The 79 articles were
gathered from both online media and a total number of 231 emotions corresponding to 34
percent were used. The most dominant emotions, in The Telegraph, was up with 58 percent
of ‘joy/happy’ emotions. Following the emotion ‘fear’ with 55 percent and next to the
emotion of ‘sad’ with 50 percent. Similarly, in the BBC were, ‘joy/happy’, ‘fear’ and ‘anger’
by 91 percent, 80 percent, and 41 percent representatively. As it can be summarised, both
media had two major emotions ‘joy/happy’ and ‘fear’. Two opposite feelings for the same
topic of Coronavirus.
Last but not least, the thesis analyse and understand the use of the most dominant emotions from two news brands which are, ‘‘joy/happy’, ‘fear’ and ‘sad’. The existanstance of these words is to embrace emotional journalism, in a way to move beyond the individual level and bring the story closer to the reader in an emotional way. Donald Trump’s Communication During COVID-19 Pandemic On Twitter
The year 2020 started with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. This socio-economic crisis has led to changes in our society as several restrictions were demanded, such as self-quarantining, wearing face masks and social distancing to limit the spread of the Coronavirus. This resulted in a high need for online communication. The United States of America has reached and maintained a high death rate in comparison to other countries. Therefore, this paper researches what are the characteristics of the U.S. President’s, Donald Trump, communication in relation to COVID-19. The paper reviews literature on Trump’s language and communication style, his political incorrectness, and his habits on Twitter communication during the election in 2016. Moreover, it describes theoretical key terms, such as political mediatization, networked society, and further uses Castells’ concept of mass self-communication as a framework for the content analysis. The resource for this analysis is Trump’s official Twitter account, where 4018 tweets were retrieved from March, April, February and June in 2020. Out of those tweets, 638 are COVID-19 related tweets. Key findings show that Trump is using a simple (casual) and offensive tone of voice in his tweets. His Twitter communication demonstrates attacking his opponents and others in a politically incorrect manner while praising himself. Along with negative partisanship and idealization of pressing issues with no coherent and factual arguments. Furthermore, he is using the pandemic as a tool for reaching his political goals, thus politicizing the COVID-19 pandemic on his Twitter account
Examining Cross-Sector Collaboration in Indonesian Socially-Driven Organizations
Abstract
Cross-sector collaboration is an innovative strategy and practice to be implemented by socially-driven organizations towards reaching sustainable development goals. However, it is challenging to develop successful, effective collaborations that are important to cross-sector dynamics and political contexts, particularly in developing countries, such as Indonesia. Therefore, the paper aims to examine how socially-driven organizations in Indonesia collaborate with other sectors by using certain factors. Besides, this research also investigates the success and failure factors of collaboration among sectors. To meet this goal, this paper examines three essential factors for cross-sector collaborations (power distribution, communication, and shared goals) from three different sectors (socially-driven organizations, governments, and societies).
The research was conducted by semi-structured interviews using Zoom for video communication. In addition, the interview was analyzed by content analysis, while Bryson et al. (2015) are used to identify the sectors and factors of collaboration. The results showed that the three collaborative factors that are used in this research significantly affect the development of the organization to collaborate with the external three sectors. Furthermore, quality education becomes the most common goal of all collaboration. In addition, face to face communication, and the use of social media have a huge impact on the communication, promotion of the goals and defining the power to the other collaboration sectors. However, communication breakdown, unclear goals, powerless figures, and bureaucratic procedures become the main challenges of collaboration. Therefore, organizations need to develop alternative ways to tackle these issues.
