Abstract 
A series of new pyrazoline compounds bearing a pyridyl moiety (4a–i) were 
synthesized by condensing appropriate chalcones with hydrazine hydrate and 
tested for antimicrobial and antioxidant activities. According to in vitro 
antimicrobial activity against Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus epidermidis, 
Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aspergillus niger and Penicillium 
chrysogenum and antioxidant activity by DPPH method, the 
compounds 4a, 4d, 4i and4e, 4f, 4h showed maximum antimicrobial and 
antioxidant activities, respectively. Physiochemical properties and Lipinski’s ‘Rule 
of Five’ analysis predicted higher intrinsic quality of the synthesized compounds 
and revealed that these compounds have good bioavailability and druglikeness 
properties.

Abstract 
 
Cytogenetic study of the Indian Bullfrog, Hoplobatrachus tigerinus was carried out using both 
conventional staining and banding methods, from Jammu and Kashmir. Karyotypes prepared 
by conventional staining in both male and female specimens showed diploid chromosome 
number as 2n = 26 and fundamental arm number as NF = 52. Karyotypes of both the sexes 
comprised of 13 pairs of biarmed chromosomes divided into two groups: first group of five 
pairs of larger metacentric or submetacentric chromosomes and second group of eight pairs 
of smaller metacentric or submetacentric chromosomes. Pair number 2, 3, and 4 among the 
first group and 8 and 9 among the second group were submetacentric chromosomes. All the 
other chromosomes in both the groups were metacentric. Meiotic stages observed were 
leptotene, diakinesis, metaphase-I and metaphase- II, from testicular cells of males. C-banding 
analysis of the species showed presence of centromeric C-bands in all the chromosomes of 
both male and female karyotypes. Female karyotype showed presence of completely 
heterochromatic homologue of the pair no. 8, which represented ZZ/ZW sex chromosome 
system in the species. NOR-banding showed presence of a pair of nucleolar organizer regions 
on the long arm of 6th pair in both the sexes.

Abstract 
 
The research paper is about organizational culture and organizational performance. The main 
focus of the study is only on the relationship between organizational culture on the 
organizational performance of the banks. The study is conducted on the Jammu and Kashmir 
Bank of Rajouri District with the help of the pre- tested questionnaire. The two hypotheses are 
studied with a conclusion that there is a correlation between the organizational culture and 
the organizational performance. The results reveled that the healthy culture will leads to the 
organizational performance and the employees can achieve the goal perfectly in an effective 
manner.

Abstract 
Some molecular aspects of flower senescence have been reviewed. The isolation, 
identification and characterization of different genes from various flowers (mainly from 
petals) associated with senescence have been discussed. The isolated genes were divided 
into different groups. A large proportion of genes have been found to be upregulated during 
flower senescence while some genes were also found to be downregulated indicating that 
there exists a complex interplay between the expression patterns of various genes. The genes 
involved in petal expansion are found to be upregulated during normal flower development 
from anthesis to open flower stage, but XTH (Xyloglucan endotransglucosylase hydrolase) is 
found to be involved in petal expansion as well as abscission. Cysteine proteases or the genes 
encoding cysteine proteases (assigned a central role in protein degradation) have been 
identified from various flower systems, but no cysteine protease has been identified from 
senescing Mirabilis jalapa flowers. In addition to proteases, the genes encoding ubiquitin 
(exhibiting proteasomal degradation by 26S proteasomes) have also been identified 
suggesting the two alternate pathways for protein degradation. Genes encoding specific 
nucleases have also been identified, but they displayed an early increase in transcript 
abundance before the senescence symptoms become evident and characterize the 
involvement of PCD during flower senescence. A range of transcription factors are described 
and their possible role in flower senescence has been discussed. A detailed description of 
genes involved in ethylene synthesis and the components involved in ethylene signaling have 
been presented.

Abstract 
 
The title compound, 5-(3-nitrophenyl)-3,7-diphenyl-4H,6H-1,2-diazepine (C23H19N3O2), was 
synthesized, in 76% yield, by one-pot multicomponent solid-phase reaction of 3-
nitrobenzylidene phenyl ketone, acetophenone and hydrazine, using the catalyst bismuth 
nitrate, co-catalyst ZnCl2, adsorbed on neutral alumina, at 110°C. The compound was 
characterized by spectral methods and X-ray diffraction studies. The crystals are monoclinic, 
space group P21/c: a = 12.186(2), b = 14.769(3), c = 11.046(2) Å, β = 115.023(3)°, Z = 4; R = 
0.0418 for 2576 observed reflections. The diazepine ring assumes a twist chair conformation. 
The dihedral angles between the mean planes through the diazepine ring and the nitrophenyl 
rings and two phenyl are: 89.19(5)°, 45.85(5)° and 20.80(6)°, respectively. The crystal 
structure is stabilized by C-H…N, C-H…O, C-H…π hydrogen bonds and π-π-stacking 
interactions.
