Abstract 
 
Allium sativum germplasm collected from different parts of India was subjected 
to critical analysis of 14 easily noticeable morphological traits. Variability 
encountered in quantitative as well as qualitative, bulb and plant traits was 
documented. While analysing this variability, an attempt was made to highlight 
the genotype-environment interaction, its impact on the expression of 
morphological traits in this apomict and evaluate the different collections for 
intraspecific phylogeny.

Abstract 
 
Novel Single Input Multiple Output (SIMO) and Multiple Input Single Output (MISO) universal 
filter topologies of arbitrary order and type are introduced in this paper. The proposed 
topologies have been realised by employing Square-Root Domain (SRD) technique. An offered 
benefit of the universal filter topologies is that only grounded capacitors are required for their 
implementations and the resonant frequency of the filters can be electronically controlled by 
an appropriate dc current. The proposed universal filters simultaneously offer all the five 
standard filtering functions i.e. Lowpass (LP), Highpass (HP) and Bandpass (BP), Bandstop (BS) 
and Allpass (AP) frequency responses. In addition, the SIMO topology is generic in the sense 
that it can yield four different stable filter configurations. Two design examples are provided 
in each configuration and the correct operation of the corresponding topologies has been 
evaluated through the PSPICE software with BSIM 0.35-µm CMOS process model parameters.

Abstract 
Foreign investments are the indispensable factors that help in boosting the growth of Indian 
economy. With the introduction of liberalisation policy under the finance ministry of Dr. 
Manmohan Singh in 1991 & with further few policy reforms, India has  witnessed a change in 
the flow and direction of foreign direct investment (FDI) into the country. This paper has 
made an attempt to analyse the trend of FDI flow into the country and to find the relation 
between FDI, FII and GDP of the country. India has witnessed  the increase in the flow of FDI 
from US $ 4029 million in 2001-01, to US$ 36396 million on 2013. Furthermore India has 
witnessed a year-on-year (y-o-y) growth of 24.2 per cent in FDI to touch US$ 3.95 billion in 
April-May 2013 as against US$ 3.18 billion during the same period in 2012. However, the 
analysis shows that the country is still far behind in comparison to some of the developing 
countries like China. The continuous upsurge in foreign direct investments (FDI), allowed 
across the industries and sectors, has proven that foreign investors have faith in the resilience 
of Indian markets. Furthermore, the study indicates that flow of FDI and GDP are positively 
correlated with each other and the country’s GDP is showing a positive movement with flow 
of Foreign Direct Investment in India. The flow of FII and FDI also shows the positive 
correlation with each other.

Abstract 
 
The future behavior of climate for a particular area is mostly determined by the long term  
climate variability as it has a large impact on climatic trend. As the climate variability changes 
from one season to the other, the variability of a given time series is well studied using Fractal 
Dimension. In this paper we deal with the estimation of Hurst exponent, Fractal Dimension 
and Predictability Index using wavelet method for each of the meteorological parameters: 
daily means of temperature, pressure, relative humidity, wind speed and daily totals for 
precipitation at each station Jammu, Rajouri, Pulwama, Srinagar, Kargil, Leh, Qazigund, 
Banihal and Doda selected strategically over the State of Jammu and Kashmir. It is  observed 
that for the entire data set temperature, pressure, and wind speed time series show 
persistence behavior with a strong correlation for the temperature time series however the 
rainfall time series for the entire data set shows an unpredictable behavior except for the case 
of Jammu. Also a discrepancy is found to exist between the predictability indices of the entire 
data set and that of the seasonal data sets due to the diversity in the climate at sub-sub-
regional levels.
