The Impact of Nurse Role Ambiguity and Role Conflict on Nursing Faculty Commitment in Saudi Arabia
Nursing education today is one of the merits of the Ministry of Higher Education. Higher education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was established to enhance the nation’s growth and the well-being of Saudis. There is movement toward advanced nursing education in order to keep pace with today’s health demand. The Nursing Faculty in Saudi have a mission. Typically, this mission covers teaching, research, and community service. The interaction of these factors may provoke Faculty of Nursing role conflict and role ambiguity that has an impact on their commitments. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of academic nurse role ambiguity and role conflict on nursing faculty commitment in Saudi Arabia. Methods: A non-experimental descriptive cross-sectional correlational study was conducted. Three largest universities were selected. Full-time nurse faculty employees were recruited to participate in the study, with a total of 216 questionnaires returned over a three month period, giving a response rate of 88%. All respondents completed the Meyer and Allen organizational commitment instrument, the role conflict, and role ambiguity scale. Self-reported survey procedures were used to collect the study data. Descriptive procedures, Pearson‘s product-moment correlation coefficients were used in this study. Results: The majority of participants are expatriates with a mean age of 36.61 ± 10.47. The results revealed that the nursing faculty faced role ambiguity and role conflict. In addition, Nursing Faculty commitment was normative commitment followed by continuance commitment. Role ambiguity among faculty was negatively correlated to continuance and normative commitment while role conflict correlated to all commitment dimensions. There were significant mean differences between role ambiguity and role conflict and the nationality of nursing faculty. Recommendations: The results of this study reveal that many nursing faculty are experiencing role ambiguity, role conflict, which can lead to a decrease in organizational commitment. Nursing academic administrators ought to create a work environment that dilutes the role conflict and ambiguity in order to enhance excellence in academic scholarship. This will lead faculty to immerse in their own role of teaching, research, and community service and develop a sense of commitment to the organization

This work aimed to study assesses the effect of menopause symptoms on Saudi women’s quality of life. A descriptive study was carried out on a convenient sample of 120 women during their menopausal period who attended two gynecologic clinics, in Riyadh, KSMC and Taif, KSA. The subjects were interviewed individually throughout a period of 10 months from February 2010 to November 2010. An interview questionnaire and Greene Climacteric Scale by Greene J.G. 1998 and Germain et al 2001 and menopausal symptoms list by Schneider, H.P.G. - 2002 and the Manchester health questionnaire was developed by (Bugg et al, 2001 and Bresilda S 2004 were used for data collection. The results showed 80% of none educated menopausal women had poor quality of life, 75% of the worker also, had poor quality of life and 63.7% of them who were multipara had poor quality of life. The Pearson correlation test proved a negative significant correlation between the total mean score of quality of life and total mean score of menopausal symptoms. The study concluded that Saudi menopausal women in the study subjects experience high prevalence of menopausal symptoms that adversely affected their quality of life. المنهجية الأوروبية ودور مؤسسات الاتحاد (اللجنة، المجلس، البرلمان الأوروبي) في صياغة إطار التقارب المذكور.
المبادئ الموجهة لعملية توحيد القوانين والمتمثلة في العمل المؤسسي على مستوى التقنين والصياغة والدعم الدستوري للعملية التوحيد.
الدستور الأوروبي كإطار جديد للمنظومة القانونية الأوروبية وما حدده للإتحاد ومؤسساته من صلاحيات ومبادئ في هذا الاتجاه.
وخصص الجزء الثاني للإحاطة بآفاق الاستفادة من التجربة الأوروبية اعتبارا للخصوصية المحلية من حيث طبيعة توحيد الأنظمة ومرجعيات و أسس هذه العملية وآلياتها من جهة وللعناصر المشتركة في البنية القانونية لدول مجلس التعاون الخليج
Effects of mass transfer on the stagnation point flow of an upper-convected Maxwell (UCM) fluid
This article deals with the effects of mass transfer on the two-dimensional stagnation point flow of an upper-convected Maxwell (UCM) fluid over a stretching surface. The similarity transformations convert the governing nonlinear partial differential equation into nonlinear ordinary differential equation. Computations for the outcoming systems are presented by a homotopy analysis method (HAM). Graphical results for the velocity and concentration fields are sketched and discussed
Effects of slip conditions on stretching flow with ohmic dissipation and thermal radiation
The present work addresses the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow and heat transfer over a permeable stretching sheet. Analysis has been carried out in the presence of thermal radiation and ohmic dissipation. The velocity and thermal slip effects are given main attention. The Rosseland approximation is used to describe the radiative heat flux in the energy equation. The non-linear partial differential equations are reduced to a set of non-linear ordinary differential equations which are solved analytically by the homotopy analysis method (HAM). The effects of emerging physical parameters on the velocity and temperature profiles are interpreted. Numerical data for skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number have been tabulated for various values of the parameters. GoTour : A Mobile Tourist Guide For Trip Planning
Tourists around the world may face some difficulties during their travels. An application that is installed in a smart cell phone can be helpful for tourists. In this paper, we present a novel tourist guide project (GoTour) that works on the smart phones with Android Operating System. This project is designed for Istanbul city which is one of the most popular touristic cities and Google map supports this city as well. In order to find tourist location and to show tourist on the map GoTour uses GPS and Google Map respectively. All spots in Istanbul with their attributes such as brief description, work hours, open/close area and coordinates are stored in the GoTour database. By using GoTour, tourists are able to view the all spots based on the categories (shopping, restaurants, parks, museums, antiquities, and consulate), make his/her favorite spots list, view weather condition and request a list of available spots regarding to weather condition and current time. Also tourists can see all the nearest spots on the map including museums, restaurants and other points of interest according to their current location. In addition to this, consulate information based on tourist nationality and service information such as police, ambulance…etc. are the others utility functions of GoTour.
The most significant feature that distinguishes GoTour from similar applications [1, 2] is ability to suggest a trip plan in a smart way. Because tourists usually have limited time during the trip, they prefer to choose some interest spots.
This application suggests a trip plan taking into consideration selected spot categories, weather condition, current location of tourist and current time. The plan starts from tourist’s location and ends at the destination spot.
The plan maximizes the number of most popular spots on the plan without violating constraints (e.g., total time of the trip is not more than a specified limit). We achieve this function by developing an algorithm based on Variable Neighborhood Search which is a metaheuristic for solving combinatorial and global optimization problems. If some spots are already visited by the tourist, the tourist can edit spots. Considering this information, system can suggest a new trip plan. Figure 1 depicts the context model of the proposed solution. The software technologies used to implement the proposed solution include J2ME, SQLlite, and Google Maps API. The mobile application is developed to run on the Android smart phone.GoTour both gathers the features in the various applications in a single application and adds outstanding features. Therefore, we believe that it will be one of the most preferable tourist guide application. The use of spray-drying to enhance celecoxib solubility
The present research investigates the enhancement of the dissolution rate of celecoxib by using spray-drying to prepare a solid dispersion with various polymers, namely Kollicoat IR(®) (Kollicoat), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) 22000, or polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG). The investigated drug-to-polymer mass ratios were 1:1, 1:2, and 1:4 by weight. Hydroalcoholic or methylene chloride solvent systems were used. The obtained yields ranged from 65% to 78%, whereas the entrapment efficiencies were between 68% and 82%. The results revealed an increase in the dissolution rate of the prepared particles up to 200% within 20 min. The prepared particles were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The increased dissolution rate was attributed to hydrogen bond formation between celecoxib and each polymer together with the reduced size of the formed particles offering a greater overall surface area. It was concluded that spray-drying may be considered a successful one-step technique to improve the dissolution rate of celecoxib when using Kollicoat, PVA, or PEG as the carrier polymer.

Direct UPLC-MS-MS Validated Method for the Quantification of 5-Aminolevulinic Acid: Application to in-vitro Assessment of Colonic-Targeted Oral Tablets.
A reliable, sensitive, specific, and rapid ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometric (UPLC-MS-MS) method was developed for the determination of 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) in orally-administered colonic delivery system. The prepared system is a compression-coated tablet using granulated chitosan as the coat layer. L-Tyrosine (TYR) was used as an internal standard with no need for derivatization. The chromatographic system consisted of Acquity UPLC BEH C18 column and isocratic mobile phase composed of acetonitrile and 0.1% formic acid with a flow rate of 2.5 min. The assay was based on ESI+ mode in a multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) transitions at m/z 132.08 > 86.0 and m/z 132.08 > 114.0 and m/z 182.1 > 91.2 for 5-ALA and TYR, respectively. Limit of quantification was 5.0 ng/mL and the calibration curve was linear (r(2) = 0.994). Within-run precision and between-run repeatability were expressed as relative standard deviation and were lower than 2.5%. The recoveries from control samples were > 95%. The method was successfully applied for evaluation in assay and release profile of 5-ALA colon targeted tablets media containing suspended rat cecal contents pH 6.8 medium (colonic) for colonic delivery
