Didactic principles (golden rules) of teaching in the development of media and digital competences among older people - in the opinion of trainers and future trainers
The growing number of older adults and the advancing digitalisation make their digital inclusion a crucial social issue. This study aims to identify the attitudes and opinions of experienced and future trainers of seniors regarding the conditions that increase the effectiveness of digital and media competence development in the context of teaching principles. The study involved 69 participants in an e-learning course as part of the REMEDIS project. Respondents were asked to formulate 10 of their own teaching principles to support the digital integration of this demographic group. Open coding in MAXQDA revealed three categories: methods, approach, and content. The results indicate that personalisation of the teaching process, a practical approach and emotional support play a key role

Poland : the empire strikes back : a neoconservative revolution in Polish schools and struggle against it
This analysis addresses the dominant educational reforms in Poland that have provoked strong resistance due to concerns about equality and human rights in schools. Political opposition and resistance movements, such as student strikes, protested against the curriculum changes proposed by the government. Additionally, there were criticisms of the promotion of traditional and nationalist values, with restrictions on the access of NGOs and controversies over the direction of education in the country. The reforms sparked intense debates about the quality and freedom of education, as well as the impact on students’ mental health and on social inequalities. The protests highlighted concerns that the changes planned by the government could result in more teachers leaving the profession and negatively affecting the psychological well-being of students. There were warnings that the government intended to disrupt pro-climate, European, humanitarian, global, egalitarian, and human rights education in schools. In response to this, movements like “The Free School” actively advocated for parental self-management in schools and LGBTQI rights, as well as raising issues about refugee rights. Resistance also focused on governance and equality issues, pointing out gaps in the curriculum, lack of funding, and evidence-based policies. The coalition of social organizations for education emphasized the importance of strengthening democratic values in education and promoting equal rights. The controversy surrounding the educational reform reflected a broader debate about democracy, human rights, and the role of education in Polish society. These protests, and the larger movement against such conservative policies in the society as a whole, have led to a number of progressive political victories at the national, regional, and local levels. This has also had significant ideological effects
