    Writing as a strategy of "weak resistance" in transnational feminist arts activism

    The chapter explores writing as an arts activist form of resisting domestic violence in "uneventful feminism". It juxtaposes transnational postsocialist and postcolonial perspectives, referring to the concept of "weak resistance" (Ewa Majewska) within a broader framework of "uneventful feminism" (Maria Mayerchyk and Olga Plakhotnik). Weak resistance promotes a non-heroic, ordinary politics of the common prioritising collaborative practices imagining new scenarios of being together in solidarity. Referring to stereotypical feminine traits such as weakness, passivity, vulnerability, or opacity, new political agency emerges from the private sphere where women have historically struggled against patriarchal structures of oppression. Arts activism enables to transfer this political agency from the private sphere to the public consciousness through transactivist engagement. Within this framework, selected arts activist projects in postsocialist Poland and postcolonial Brazil are analysed: HerStory (2019-2023) by the Brazilian artist Panmela Castro and Without Title (2017) and Intimate Embroidery (2018) by the Polish artist Eliza Proszczuk. These projects share the prosaic, non-spectacular, everyday activity of writing as a form of expression. The chapter considers writing as a political and artistic endeavour establishing a new political agency; and a participatory strategy to resist domestic violence making women’s lived experiences public and raising social awareness transnationally

The interview included opinions based on the results of his research in Iraq and Afghanistan, including: the reaction to the US President's insulting words about the involvement of NATO allied troops in US stabilization operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, which, in Trump's opinion, "stayed a bit behind" and "a bit away from the front lines"; the balance of Polish benefits and losses from participation in American wars in the 21st century and the sins of omission committed by individual governments; the political narrative of the Polish authorities regarding "difficult stabilization" and the explanation of the policy of servility in relations with the USA; sending soldiers to Iraq with equipment that did not guarantee their safety and taking responsibility for the Ghazni zone, which demonstrated a lack of competence and basic knowledge of the theater of stabilization operations of the then decision-makers; high-quality implementation of tasks by Polish military contingents, despite many adversities of a political, military, cultural and social nature

    Core–shell Mn- and Cu-doped CoFe2O4@Co3O4CoFe_2O_4@Co_3O_4 hollow spheres with dual adsorption and catalytic function

    This work reports the first solvothermal synthesis of Mn- and Cu-doped CoFe2O4@Co3O4CoFe_{2}O_{4}@Co_{3}O_{4} hollow spheres. The process leads to the formation of core–shell spinel structures via Ostwald ripening. The resulting materials with surface areas up to 115m2/g115 m^{2}/g were evaluated as bifunctional adsorbent-catalysts for removing Congo Red (CR) dye and oxytetracycline (OTC) from water via combined adsorption and Fenton-like degradation. Mn- and Cu-doping significantly change the morphology of hollow spheres, improving surface charge, redox activity, and pollutant affinity. Mn-doping enhanced the removal efficiency mainly through adsorption, with a minor catalytic contribution. The Mn-3 sample exhibited the highest activity, removing 99% of OTC within 30 min and achieving complete CR elimination within 40 min. XAS and XPS revealed that Co, Mn, and Cu act as redox-active centers, while Fe remains chemically stable. EPR spin-trapping experiments indicated that Cu-3 produces the highest HO• level, whereas Mn-3 is the most effective generator of singlet oxygen. Postreaction XPS confirmed pollutant adsorption, while recyclability tests revealed that CR degradation remains efficient over three cycles, but OTC removal declines, likely due to stronger chemisorption. These results demonstrate the promise of Mn- and Cu-doped cobalt ferrite hollow spheres as multifunctional materials for advanced water treatment applications

    “A community of unknowledge” : a social-psychological model of the self-reinforcing cycle of social identity-driven willful ignorance and conspiracy beliefs

    This paper explores willful ignorance as a socially motivated, group-based phenomenon closely tied to conspiracy beliefs. While prior research has emphasized individual motives, we highlight how groups actively ignore dissonant information to protect identity, cohesion, and status. Drawing on organizational, socio-political, and historical contexts, we show how both powerful and marginalized groups use willful ignorance to sustain conspiratorial narratives that affirm their worldview and deflect moral accountability. We propose the Social Identity-Driven Willful Ignorance and Conspiracy Beliefs (SIDWI-CB) model, a dual group-based motivational pathways framework that explains how intergroup symbolic and realistic motivations drive selective ignorance fueled by conspiracy beliefs. This framework offers a new lens for understanding how identity and power dynamics shape belief persistence, with broad implications for addressing polarization, misinformation and conspiracy beliefs, and collective decision making
