    Risk factors of response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with luminal (HER2 Negative) breast cancer: Roc curve and logistic regression model results

    Background: Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) is less effective for luminal human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) negative breast cancer (BC) patients and generally shows a low pathological complete response (pCR) after NAC compared to HER2 positive and triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). This study aimed to determine the factors associated with histopathologic response following NAC in luminal (HER2 negative) BC. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study conducted on 255 estrogen (ER) positive and HER2 negative BC patients after NAC between January 2018 and July 2023. Demographic and clinicopathological characteristics of the patients were collected for the statistical analysis. Chi-Square tests were used in the qualitative comparisons between study groups. Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis was used for the diagnostic performance of Ki-67 expression and ER in determining the pCR rates. Using the Youden index, optimum cut points were determined. Also, multivariate logistic regression analysis was applied to determine the independent variables associated with the dependent variable (pCR). Results: After NAC, pCR was achieved in the breast in 35 (14%) patients, in the axilla in 44 (17%) patients, and in both the breast and axilla in 18 (7%) patients. Ki-67 expression was the only common variable associated with the breast, axilla and both the breast and axilla pCR. The most appropriate Ki-67 expression cut-off value for determining the breast and axilla complete response was found to be 40%. ER positivity level was only associated with pCR in the breast and the cut-off value was found to be 85%. Conclusion: The results of this study raise the possibility of patients with luminal (HER2 negative) BC with Ki-67 expression higher than 40% benefiting from chemotherapy, as they showed increased pCR rates

    Characterization of the electrical properties of MPS schottky structures incorporating Fe doped polyvinyl chloride (PVC)

    This paper explores the effects of the organic interfacial layer on the electrophysical characteristics of Schottky barrier diodes (SBDs). Three types of SBDs were fabricated: Au-Si (referred to as MS), Au/PVC/Si (referred to as MPS1), and Au-/PVC:Fe/Si (referred to as MPS2). Fe nanopowders were subjected to analysis using XRD, SEM, and EDX techniques to investigate their structural and optical characteristics. To investigate the conduction mechanisms of these diodes, I-V characteristics were examined using thermionic-emission (TE), Cheung, and Norde functions. The surface-state density (N ss ) distribution of energy was determined by analyzing the current-voltage (IF-VF) curve under forward bias conditions. This analysis considered the voltage-dependent barrier height (BH) and ideality factor (n(V)). The results demonstrated that the polymeric interlayer without Fe nanoparticles reduced N ss by a factor of 7, while the presence of Fe nanoparticles led to a two-order magnitude decrease, resulting in improved efficiency in comparison with MS structures. The obtained results indicated that including a polymeric layer in MPS structure enhanced their electrophysical features compared to MS diodes, and significantly increased rectification by 15-45 times. In summary, the existence of an organic interfacial layer significantly altered the conduction mechanisms and electrophysical characteristics of MPS diodes. It was found that the addition of Fe nanoparticles in the interlayer resulted in substantial improvements in N ss , efficiency, rectification, and conduction characteristics compared to MS diodes

İnternet teknolojilerinin gelişimi sayesinde açık kaynak olarak nitelendirilebilecek birçok kaynak kullanılabilir hale gelmiştir. Bilimsel makaleler, yazılı ve görsel haberler, sosyal medya paylaşımları, kamuya açık raporlar, ürün katalogları gibi kaynaklar teknoloji istihbaratı için kullanılan açık kaynaklardan bazılarıdır. Bu çalışma kapsamında gerçekleştirilen literatür çalışmalarında elde edilen veriler ile, açık kaynak istihbaratı kapsamında değerlendirilecek bir teknoloji istihbaratı modeli önerisi geliştirilmiştir. Önerilen modelde farklı kaynak üzerinden veriler toplanarak, S-eğrisi analizi, patent analizi, bibliyometrik analiz, AHP analizi gibi analiz teknikleri bir arada kullanılmıştır. Modelin veri toplama ve analiz kısmında üretken yapay zekâ uygulamasından faydalanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda, üretken yapay zeka uygulamalarının da teknoloji istihbaratı için kullanılabileceği fakat yeni gelişmekte olan bu alanda bazı sorunların hala olduğu ve dikkat edilmesi gerekliliği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.Businesses aiming to achieve competitive advantage by reaching high profit margins recognize that their greatest strength lies in standing out in competition through the technologies they develop. Gathering accurate and up-to-date information is one of the most crucial factors in achieving intelligence goals. While working in the field of technology intelligence, information can be collected from various sources. Thanks to the advancement of internet technologies, many sources that can be considered as open sources have become accessible. Some of the open sources used for technology intelligence include scientific articles, written and visual news, social media posts, publicly available reports, product catalogs, and more. Based on the data obtained from literature studies conducted within the scope of this work, a proposal for a technology intelligence model to be evaluated within the scope of open source intelligence has been developed. In the proposed model, data is collected from different sources, and analysis techniques such as S-curve analysis, patent analysis, bibliometric analysis, and AHP analysis are used together. Productive artificial intelligence applications are utilized in the data collection and analysis part of the model.     Bu çalışmada, 16. yüzyıl klasik Türk şiiri şairlerinden Bursalı Rahmî’nin Divan’ında yer alan şiir ve şairle ilgili ifadelerden hareketle onun şiir ve şair algısını belirlemeye çalışmak ve bu sayede klasik Türk şiirinin poetikasının bir bütün hâlinde tespitine yönelik çalışmalara materyal sunmak amaçlanmıştır. Hedeflenen amaç doğrultusunda Bursalı Rahmî Divanı, poetik kelime, terim ve tamlamalar bağlamında baştan sona tahlil edilmiş, elde edilen veriler şiir, şair ve sanatsal çevre çerçevesinde tasnif edilmiş ve incelenmiştir. Bu inceleme sonucunda Rahmî’nin, poetik görüşlerini Divan’ında büyük çoğunlukla gazellerinin mahlas beyitlerinde, çok az da kasidelerinin fahriye bölümlerinde ve diğer bazı manzumelerinde dağınık bir şekilde dile getirdiği görülmüştür. Onun poetik ifadelerinden hareketle şiirde “gönle ferahlık vermek, değerini anlayanlara sunmak, sihir gibi söyleyip herkesi etkilemek, güzel, hoş, zarif olmak, güzelliğini her zaman korumak, ilahi bir yardımla yazılmak, yenilik ve tazelik içermek” vb. özellikleri aradığı; şairde ise “doğuştan şairlik yeteneğine sahip olmak, benzersiz ve özgün şiirler söylemek, şiir ilminde ve belâgatte usta olmak” gibi özellikleri aradığı söylenebilir. Rahmî Divanı’nın incelenmesi sonucu elde edilen bu özgünlük içeren sonuçların, özelde şairin, genelde ise klasik şiirin şiir ve şair anlayışına yönelik yapılacak çalışmalara katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.In this study, it is aimed to try to determine the perception of poetry and poets based on the expressions about poetry and poets in the Divan of Bursalı Rahmî, one of the 16th century classical Turkish poetry poets, and thus to provide material for studies aimed at determining the poetics of Classical Turkish poetry as a whole. In line with the targeted purpose, Bursalı Rahmî's Divan has been analyzed thoroughly in the context of poetic words, terms and phrases, and the obtained data has been classified and examined within the framework of poetry, poet and artistic environment. As a result of this examination, it has been seen that Rahmî expressed his poetic views in his Divan, mostly in the pseudonym couplets of his ghazals, and rarely in the fahriye sections of his odes and in some other poems. Based on his poetic expressions, poetry includes “to give relief to the heart, to present it to those who understand its value, to impress everyone by saying it like magic, to be beautiful, pleasant, elegant, to always preserve its beauty, to be written with divine help, to contain innovation and freshness” etc. the features he is looking for; It can be said that he looks for qualities such as “having a natural poetic talent, singing unique and original poems, being a master in poetry science and rhetoric” in a poet. It is thought that these original results obtained as a result of the examination of Rahmî's Divan will contribute to the studies on the understanding of poetry and poet in particular and classical poetry in general

    Solution of nonlinear vibration problem of shear deformable multilayer nonhomogeneous orthotropic plates using Poincare-Lindstedt method

    In this study, one of the first attempts is made to solve the nonlinear (NL) vibration problem of shear-deformable multilayer plates consisting of nonhomogeneous orthotropic layers (NHOLs) using the Poincaré-Lindstedt method. First, the shear deformation theory (SDT) for homogeneous plates is extended to multilayer plates composed of NHOLs. In the framework of von-Karman type nonlinear theory, the basic relations of the plates in question are established and then NL equations of motion based on four functions such as rotation angles, Airy stress and deflection functions are derived. Then, NL-partial differential equations (NL-PDEs) are reduced to NL-ordinary differential equations (NL-ODE) and the solution of NL-ODE is performed for the first time by the modified Poincaré ?Lindstedt method, yielding new amplitude dependent expressions for NL frequency, and for the ratio of NL frequency to linear (NL/L) frequency for multilayer plates consisting of NHOLs. Finally, detailed parametric studies are carried out to gain insight into the effects of various factors such as shear strains, non-homogeneity, number and array of layers on the NL frequencies under different rectangular plate characteristics

    İletişim Bilimi ve İnternet Enstitüsü, Sinema Ana Bilim DalıKültürlerarası iletişimin bir disiplin olarak önemi günden güne artmaktadır. Günümüzde kültürlerarası İletişimde görsel sanatlar özellikle sinema, kültür ihracatı ve ilişkiler açısından önemli bir araçtır. Bu çerçevede belgesel filmler teknolojide yaşanan gelişmeleri kullanarak son yıllarda daha çok kişiye ulaşabilmekte ve bir başka kültürün anlaşılmasına, öğrenilmesine, ilişkilerin gelişmesine katkı sunmaktadır. Coğrafi olarak uzak iki ülke olan Japonya ve Türkiye'nin diplomatik ilişkilerinin başlangıcı 19. yüzyılın ikinci yarısına dayanmaktadır. Özellikle 16 Eylül 1890'da yaşanan Ertuğrul Fırkateyni kazası ve sonrasında gelişen ilişkiler, İran-Irak Savaşı ve deprem felaketlerinin ardından dayanışma hikayeleriyle devam etmiştir. Bu iki uzak ülke arasında az bilinen Heimei-Maru gemisinin hikâyesi 2018 yılında Vatana Giderken Heimei-Maru belgeselinde konu edilmiştir. 2019 ve 2020 yıllarında uluslararası festivallerde, özel resepsiyonlarda ve Tokyo'da 25. Türkiye-Japonya İş Konseyi Ortak Toplantısı'nda da gösterilen belgeselin, iki ülke arasındaki iletişimin gelişimine katkısı mevcuttur. Bu tezin amacı Vatana Giderken Heimei-Maru filmi üzerinden kültürlerarası iletişim aracı olarak belgeselin, Türkiye-Japonya özelinde iki ülkenin yakınlaşmasına sunduğu katkının incelenmesidir. Bu kapsamda, ayrıca, film türü olarak belgesel sinemanın tarihsel süreci ve kültürlerarası iletişime katkısı tartışılacaktır.The importance of intercultural communication as a discipline is increasing day by day. Today visual arts continue to be an important tool in intercultural communication, especially in terms of cinema, cultural export and relations. Documentary films, on the other hand, have been able to reach more people in recent years by using the developments in technology and contribute to the understanding and learning of other cultures and the development of relations. The beginning of diplomatic relations between two geographically distant countries, Japan and Turkey, dates back to the second half of the 19th century. The contacts that developed especially after the Ertuğrul Frigate accident on 16 September 1890 continued with stories of solidarity after the Iran-Iraq war and earthquake disasters in both countries. The story of the ship Heimei-Maru, which is not very well known between these two distant countries, was the subject of the documentary "Going To The Homeland Heimei-Maru" in 2018. This documentary screened at international festivals, special receptions and ''The 25th Turkey-Japan Joint Business'' committee meeting in Tokyo at the 2019 and 2020. The contribution of the documentary to the development of communication between the two countries is notable. In this thesis, we tried to analyze the contribution of Turkey and Japan to intercultural communication by using the documentary " Going To The Homeland Heimei-Maru". While doing this, the historical process of documentary cinema as a film genre and its contribution to intercultural communication will be discussed

    The Fourier approach and testing for cointegration in LSTAR model

    This paper proposes a new logistic smooth transition autoregressive (LSTAR) cointegration test by combining the Fourier function to catch the structural changes that occur over time and the LSTAR model to consider the nonlinearity. Logistic and exponential functions are the main transition functions defining the nonlinearity in STAR models since the exponential smooth transition autoregressive (ESTAR) and LSTAR models can explain the different structures of economic variables. The Fourier approach is a simple and effective way to model the structural changes in time series as an alternative to dummy variables. The most significant advantage of the method is that it does not require prior knowledge about the date, number of breaks, or forms. Monte Carlo simulation results show that the proposed test has good size and power properties for different sample sizes and parameters. The results also revealed that the power performance of the proposed test and the Fourier ESTAR test offered by Güriş and Sedefoğlu (2022) are close to each other. The steps of the Fourier-based tests are illustrated by providing an empirical example of testing the validity of the purchasing power parity (PPP) hypothesis in Türkiye

    Wild goat (Capra aegagrus Erxleben, 1777) is a prominent mountain mammal found in many habitats in Türkiye, but few studies have investigated its relationship with the habitat. This species is significantly affected by various anthropogenic activities such as illegal hunting and marble quarries. This study aimed to determine the changes in potential suitable habitats for wild goats over time by creating habitat suitability models. This study was carried out in the province of Isparta. The occurrence data of wild goats were collected mostly from Sütçüler and Eğirdir districts. The data were obtained for two periods, 2009 and 2019. The habitat suitability modeling was performed using the Maximum Entropy (MaxEnt) method. The results showed that habitat use of wild goat was influenced by factors such as elevation, ruggedness, slope, radiation index, annual precipitation (bio12), and annual mean temperature (bio1). The AUC values for the training and test datasets of the model obtained using data from the year 2009 were found to be 0.990 and 0.987, respectively. Similarly, for the year 2019, the values were found to be 0.987 and 0.978, respectively. It was observed that the identified suitable areas for both periods were mostly limited to local areas in the southwest and southeast of the study area. Finally, the habitat suitability maps were thresholded at a value of 0.5. As a result, the thresholded habitat suitability maps predict that there could be a 2,659-hectare (ha) increase in potential suitable areas in 2019

Uluslararası pazarlarda sınırların önemini yitirmesi, amansız rekabet, ürün yaşam döngülerinin kısalması ve teknolojik yeniliklerin çarpıcı hızı gibi dinamik kavramlar etrafında şekillenen işletmelerin elinde bulundurdukları kaynaklar, stratejik inovasyon yönelimleri ve geliştirdikleri örgüt yapıları ile yüksek ihracat performansı göstermeleri gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada Türkiye'de mobilya ihracatı yapan işletmelerin örgüt yapısı, ihracat performansı, stratejik inovasyon yönelimi ve sürdürülebilir rekabet üstünlüğü arasındaki ilişkiler incelenmekte ve bu değişkenlerin ihracat performansını ne şekilde etkilediği araştırılmaktadır. Araştırma Türkiye'de mobilya ihracatı yapan işletmelerin üst-orta düzey yöneticileri üzerinde gerçekleşmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında kolayda örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak yüz yüze anket ve çevrimiçi anket formu oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmaya 534 yönetici anket doldurup katılım göstermiştir. Araştırmanın verileri %95 güven düzeyinde SPSS 25 ve LISREL 8.7 programlar yardımı ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucuna göre mobilya ihracatı yapan işletmelerde örgüt yapısı, ihracat performansı ve sürdürülebilir rekabet üstünlüğünün ihracat performansını etkilediği görülmüş bununla birlikte örgüt yapısı ve ihracat performansı ilişkisinde sürdürülebilir rekabet üstünlüğü ve stratejik inovasyon yöneliminin kısmi aracılık etkisi olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Bu bağlamda mobilya ihracatı yapan işletmelerin daha iyi bir ihracat performansı elde etmeleri için sürdürülebilir rekabet üstünlüğü ve stratejik inovasyon yönelimi yeteneklerini daha fazla geliştirmeleri gerekmektedir.In a rapidly developing competitive environment are exporting considered to be an important factor for achieving competitive advantage and economic growth. Businesses shaped around dynamic concepts such as the loss of importance of borders in international markets, relentless competition, shortening of product life cycles and the striking speed of technological innovations must demonstrate high export performance with the resources they have, strategic innovation orientations and organizational structures they have developed. In this study, the relationships between the organizational structure, export performance, strategic innovation orientation and sustainable competitive advantage of furniture exporting companies in Turkey are examined and how these variables affect export performance is investigated. The research was conducted on upper-middle level managers of companies exporting furniture in Turkey. Convenience sampling method was used within the scope of the research. A face-to-face survey and an online survey form were created as data collection tools. 534 managers completed the survey and participated in the research. The data of the study was analyzed with SPSS 25 and LISREL 8.7 programs at a 95% confidence level. According to the results of the research, it has been that organizational structure, export performance and sustainable competitive advantage affect export performance in furniture exporting businesses, and it has been concluded that sustainable competitive advantage and strategic innovation orientation have a partial mediating effect in the relationship between organizational structure and export performance. In this context, furniture exporting businesses need to further develop their sustainable competitive advantage and strategic innovation orientation capabilities in order to achieve a better export performance

    Exploring the influence of layer and neuron configurations on Boussinesq equation solutions via a bilinear neural network framework

    This study examines the Boussinesq equation, which is a nonlinear partial differential equation used to describe long wave propagation in shallow water and has broader applications, including nonlinear lattice waves, vibrations in nonlinear strings, and ion sound waves in plasma. The Boussinesq equation provides an insight into the nonlinear long wave propagation behavior in shallow water by taking wave phase into account. Its versatility extends its utility beyond fluid dynamics to various physical phenomena. By providing specific activation functions in the ``2-3-1?? and ``2-5-1?? neural network models, respectively, the generalized lump solution and the precise analytical solutions are produced using the bilinear neural network approach. These analytical solutions, together with the related rogue waves, dark soliton, and bright soliton, are derived using symbolic computation. These findings fill in the gaps in the current research about the Boussinesq equation. The dynamical properties of these waves are displayed on three-dimensional, contour, density, and two-dimensional graphs. The response of the wave solution to different values of wave speed in relation to the wave phase it contains has been described with the help of wave intensity. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of the layers used in the analytical technique to generate solutions have been discussed. The efficient techniques employed in this research are useful for studying the nonlinear differential equations in one-dimensional nonlinear lattice waves, vibrations in a nonlinear string, and ion sound waves in plasma
