EULER–ZAGIER SUMS VIA TRIGONOMETRIC SERIES
In this note, we study the evaluations of Euler sums via trigonometric series. It is a commonly believed conjecture that for an even weight greater than seven, Euler sums cannot be evaluated in terms of the special values of the Riemann zeta function. For an even weight, we reduce the evaluations of Euler sums into the evaluations of double series and integrals of products of Clausen functions. We also re-evaluate Euler sums of odd weight using a new method based on trigonometric series. © 2023 Editura Academiei Romane. Being A Child Born After Loss: A Qualitative Research
The loss of a child is one of the most traumatic experiences a person can go through. Parents who have suffered the loss of a child may bring another child into the world after or before completing the grieving process. Children born after the loss are referred to as subsequent children. The reality of loss and the attitudes of the bereaved parent affect the identity and mental state of the child born after loss. This study used the qualitative research method to understand the life experiences of children born after loss in depth. In line with the determined research method, semi-structured individual interviews were conducted with ten participants born after loss. The data obtained in the study were analyzed by thematic analysis. As a result of the thematic analysis, the main themes of "about the lost child", "the effect of being born after loss on life", "being a child born after loss", and "grief" were determined. The main theme "about the lost child" included information about the deceased sibling, objects and photographs, the cause and manner of death, images and fantasies about the sibling, emotions, and contact needs. Under the main theme of "the impact of being born after the loss of life", both the identity and psychological development of individuals, the impact on their career choices and their parents' attitudes were found. Under the main theme, "being a child born after loss", participants talked about being a scapegoat, a comforting child, or a gifted child. In the last main theme, "grief", participants gave information about their parents' grief, their grief, and their experiences of coping with this grief. It has been shown that coming into the world after loss affects individuals' identity, mental state, and choice of profession, and they may face negative parental attitudes. It may be recommended to monitor the grief processes of parents with child loss and to guide the planning of new children
The relationship of gastroesophageal reflux with nutritional habits and mental disorders
Abstract Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is one of the most common health problems of the upper gastrointestinal system, in which complex biopsychosocial factors play a role in its development. In addition to bad nutritional habits, it is known that psychological stress has aggravating effects on gastroesophageal reflux symptoms. Presenting the current evidence obtained from studies on this subject can be a guide for both clinicians and patients. The role of various factors such as poor eating habits, obesity, stress, anxiety, sedentary lifestyle, sleep disorders, smoking and alcohol in the etiology of GERD is emphasized. Pharmacotherapy is considered first-line therapy for patients with GERD, but lifestyle modification, including dietary changes, is an important element in supporting the treatment of the disease. However, although lifestyle change offers a more effective, lower cost and less side-effect treatment, it is often seen to be insufficient in practice. The results of the studies show that reflux is closely related to mental state and eating habits affect both reflux and mood. In the management of GERD, the evaluation of biopsychosocial factors together and the application of a multidisciplinary approach can make a significant contribution to increase the success of the treatment and quality of life
Differential tt¯ cross-section measurements using boosted top quarks in the all-hadronic final state with 139 fb?1 of ATLAS data
Measurements of single-, double-, and triple-differential cross-sections are presented for boosted top-quark pair-production in 13 TeV proton–proton collisions recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The top quarks are observed through their hadronic decay and reconstructed as large-radius jets with the leading jet having transverse momentum (pT) greater than 500 GeV. The observed data are unfolded to remove detector effects. The particle-level cross-section, multiplied by the tt¯ ? WWbb¯ branching fraction and measured in a fiducial phase space defined by requiring the leading and second-leading jets to have pT> 500 GeV and pT> 350 GeV, respectively, is 331 ± 3(stat.) ± 39(syst.) fb. This is approximately 20% lower than the prediction of 398?49+48 fb by Powheg+Pythia 8 with next-to-leading-order (NLO) accuracy but consistent within the theoretical uncertainties. Results are also presented at the parton level, where the effects of top-quark decay, parton showering, and hadronization are removed such that they can be compared with fixed-order next-to-next-to-leading-order (NNLO) calculations. The parton-level cross-section, measured in a fiducial phase space similar to that at particle level, is 1.94 ± 0.02(stat.) ± 0.25(syst.) pb. This agrees with the NNLO prediction of 1.96?0.17+0.02 pb. Reasonable agreement with the differential cross-sections is found for most NLO models, while the NNLO calculations are generally in better agreement with the data. The differential cross-sections are interpreted using a Standard Model effective field-theory formalism and limits are set on Wilson coefficients of several four-fermion operators. Identifying the effects of corruption perception on the relationship between international trade and logistics performance in developing countries
ABSTRACT: Purpose – logistics creates a strategic effect by playing a facilitating role in interna-tional trade, which has a significant impact on the economic performance of countries. Logis-tics performance and corruption play an influential role in determining the trade efficiency levels of developing countries. There are two purposes in this research. First purpose is to determine the international trade efficiency level of developing countries based on logistics performance. The second purpose is to determine the efficiency level of trade based on both logistics performance and corruption levels. Research methodology – output-oriented data envelopment analysis (DEA) has been applied in the research. The research covers the years 2012–2020. The sample area is developing countries. Findings – countries with full efficiency levels in 2012–2020 have been determined according to both logistics performance and corruption scores. Research limitations – the research covers the years 2012–2020. The sample area is develop-ing countries.Practical implications – the reduction of corruption levels in some developing countries is an important factor in increasing the level of international trade efficiency. Originality/Value– this research highlights the role of corruption in the relationship between trade and logistics performance

ÖZET: Bu makale, sanat kurumlarının mevcut yönetim yapılarını, güç dinamiklerini ve toplumla olan etkileşimlerini sorgulayan documenta onbeş’te (documenta fifteen) sunulan lumbung pratiğine odaklanmaktadır. Sanat kurumlarının genellikle hiyerarşik ve merkeziyetçi yapılarla karakterize edildiği bir bağlamda, önerilen lumbung gibi kolektif paylaşım pratikleri, sanat kurumlarının işleyişini daha demokratik ve katılımcı hale getirme potansiyeline sahiptir. Makale, lumbung pratiğinin sanat kurumlarına nasıl yeni bir bakış açısı sunabileceğini ve mevcut güç dinamiklerini nasıl sorgulayabileceğini tartışmaktadır. Bu pratiğin, sanat kurumlarının sürdürülebilirlik modellerini ve kalıcı ilişkileri nasıl geliştirebileceğini ve mevcut kurumsal yapıları nasıl zenginleştirebileceğini ele alır. Makale, İstanbul’un sanat ortamının lumbung pratiği gibi alternatif yaklaşımları dikkate alması gerekliliğini ve bu tür yaklaşımların önemli bir potansiyele sahip olduğuna işaret ederek, bu yaklaşımların sanat kurumlarının geleceğine nasıl etkileri olabileceğini tartışıyor.ABSTRACT: This article focuses on the lumbung practice presented at documenta fifteen, which questions the existing governance structures of art institutions, their power dynamics and their interactions with society. In a context where art institutions are often characterised by hierarchical and centralised structures, collective sharing practices such as lumbung have the potential to make the functioning of art institutions more democratic and participatory. The paper discusses how the practice of lumbung can offer a new perspective on art institutions and challenge existing power dynamics. It considers how this practice can promote models of sustainability and lasting relationships within art institutions and enrich existing institutional structures. The article highlights the necessity for Istanbul’s art scene to consider alternative approaches, such as the practice of lumbung. It is pointed out that such approaches hold considerable potential and the article discusses how these approaches can contribute to the future of art institutions
Observation of triple J/psi meson production in proton-proton collisions
Protons consist of three valence quarks, two up-quarks and one down-quark, held together by gluons and a sea of quark-antiquark pairs. Collectively, quarks and gluons are referred to as partons. In a proton-proton collision, typically only one parton of each proton undergoes a hard scattering - referred to as single-parton scattering - leaving the remainder of each proton only slightly disturbed. Here, we report the study of double- and triple-parton scatterings through the simultaneous production of three J/psi mesons, which consist of a charm quark-antiquark pair, in proton-proton collisions recorded with the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. We observed this process - reconstructed through the decays of J/psi mesons into pairs of oppositely charged muons - with a statistical significance above five standard deviations. We measured the inclusive fiducial cross-section to be 272(-104)(+141) (stat) +/- 17 (syst) fb, and compared it to theoretical expectations for triple-J/psi meson production in single-, double- and triple-parton scattering scenarios. Assuming factorization of multiple hard-scattering probabilities in terms of single-parton scattering cross-sections, double- and triple-parton scattering are the dominant contributions for the measured process
Incorporating park events into crime hotspot prediction on street networks: A spatiotemporal graph learning approach
Park events elevate crime risk in and around parks for brief periods by granting offenders close contact with abundant suitable targets in outdoor spaces. This study proposes to capture the formulated transient crime risk with a network-based feature, Park Event Density (PED), that monitors the dynamic event density across parks. We incorporate the PED into various crime hotspot prediction models to test its effectiveness. The sample includes all the robbery(n = 1555) and theft(n = 22596) incidents between 2016 and 2018 in the Center Side of Chicago. We generate daily and intraday crime hotspot predictions using two spatiotemporal graph learning algorithms (i.e., Graph Wavenet and Spatiotemporal Graph Convolution Neural Networks) and a traditional counterpart (i.e., LSTM). The results reveal that the PED-incorporated models have up to 25% higher accuracy, particularly in the intraday theft predictions. Another significant result indicates that the predictive accuracies of spatiotemporal graph learning algorithms are up to three times higher than their traditional counterpart. The proposed method provides additional information to security decision-makers with crime hotspot prediction models sensitive to the changing crime risk landscape across a region during park events. Charged-hadron production in pp, p plus Pb, Pb plus Pb, and Xe plus Xe collisions at ?sNN=5 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the LHC
This paper presents measurements of charged-hadron spectra obtained in pp, p+Pb, and Pb+Pb collisions at root s or root s(NN) = 5.02TeV, and in Xe+Xe collisions at root s(NN) = 5.44TeV. The data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC have total integrated luminosities of 25 pb(-1), 28 nb(-1), 0.50 nb(-1), and 3 mu b(-1), respectively. The nuclear modification factors RpPb and R-AA are obtained by comparing the spectra in heavy-ion and pp collisions in a wide range of charged-particle transverse momenta and pseudorapidity. The nuclear modification factor RpPb shows a moderate enhancement above unity with a maximum at p(T) approximate to 3 GeV; the enhancement is stronger in the Pb-going direction. The nuclear modification factors in both Pb+Pb and Xe+Xe collisions feature a significant, centrality-dependent suppression. They show a similar distinct p(T)-dependence with a local maximum at p(T) approximate to 2 GeV and a local minimum at p(T) approximate to 7 GeV. This dependence is more distinguishable in more central collisions. No significant eta |-dependence is found. A comprehensive comparison with several theoretical predictions is also provided. They typically describe RAA better in central collisions and in the pT range from about 10 to 100 GeV
