Hypolestes hatuey sp. nov.: a new species of the enigmatic genus Hypolestes (Odonata, Hypolestidae) from Hispaniola
Both sexes of Hypolestes hatuey Torres-Cambas, sp. nov. (Odonata: Zygoptera: Hypolestidae) from Hispaniola are described and illustrated here. This newly described species differs from H. trinitatis and H. clara, the other two species within the genus, by the morphology of the genital ligula and male cerci. Females of H. hatuey sp. nov. differ from H. clara by the shape of the female antehumeral stripe and wing venation. Morphological distinctiveness in males is supported by genetic differences in the 16S mitochondrial gene. Following the categories and criteria of the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, we suggest this species should be listed as Data Deficient (DD), given that available data on its distribution are too limited to assess its risk of extinction.
Vitamin A5/X controls stress-adaptation and prevents depressive-like behaviors in a mouse model of chronic stress
9-cis-13,14-dihydroretinoic acid (9CDHRA), acts as an endogenous ligand of the retinoid X receptors (RXRs), and is an active form of a suggested new vitamin, vitamin A5/X. Nutritional-relevance of this pathway as well as its detailed role in vertebrate physiology, remain largely unknown. Since recent GWAS data and experimental studies associated RXR-mediated signaling with depression, we explored here the relevance of RXR and vitamin A5/X-mediated signaling in the control of stress adaptation and depressive-like behaviors in mice. We found that compromised availability of 9CDHRA in Rbp1−/− mice was associated with increased despair in the forced swim and anhedonia in the sucrose preference test. 9CDHRA similarly to synthetic RXR agonist, BMS649, normalized despair behaviors in Rbp1−/− but not Rxrγ−/− mice, supporting involvement of RXR signaling in anti-despair activity of these ligands. Importantly, similarly to BMS649, the 9CDHRA and its nutritional-precursor, 9-cis-13,14-dihydroretinol (vitamin A5/X alcohol), prevented development of depressive-like behaviors in mice exposed to chronic social defeat stress, revealing the beneficial role of RXRs and its endogenous ligand in stress adaptation process. These data point to the need for relevant nutritional, biochemical and pharmacological studies of this signaling pathway in human, both in physiological conditions and in pathologies of stress-related disorders.
This work aims to determine whether there is a general anti-avoidance rule in our Spanish tax system which allow us to conclude that our country complies with the obligation of implementing the ATAD, as regards the GAAR. For this purpose, a critical analysis of article 15 of the General Tax Law (governing the conflict in the application of tax regulations) will be made, by emphasizing that, in the Spanish tax system, apart from the mentioned article, there are other provisions of general application which, also, aim to avoid that tax avoidance behaviors may distort the application of the tax system
Design and implementation of a terminological knowledge base on rare diseases
This article focuses on the creation of conceptually-based terminographical resources for managing medical terminology. We present a bilingual (French and Spanish) terminological knowledge base on a large group of rare diseases, namely inborn errors of metabolism. This resource gives its users conceptually structured access to the terminology used when referring to these diseases and their signs and symptoms. After introducing the theoretical framework underpinning its design, we describe the various stages in the creation of the knowledge base itself: compilation, tagging, exploitation of the working corpus and construction of the underlying ontology. We then give an overview of the salient data and provide a guide to the functionalities of the query interface. The purpose of the resource is to describe
the sub-domain in question and serve as a source of information for specialist translators.Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad | Ref. FFI2014-51978-C2-1-RAgencia Estatal de Investigación | Ref. TIN2017-85160-C2-2-

Bluetooth-based system for tracking people localization at home
Indoor location or positioning is not a mature technology but with the spread of wireless communication technologies applications are nowadays more feasible. In the telecare field, indoor location could be used for tracking people position at home, in order to know their daily routine and automatically detect abnormalities. This paper describes a Bluetooth-based method for indoor location, suitable for this kind of applications. The fingerprint algorithm uses the received signal strenght (RSS) parameter and a k-Nearest Neighbour classifier. For testing the algorithm an experiment was carried on a public educational building. The goal is to determine in which room a person is at any time. Results are satisfactory: 95% of correct classification
Modeling the clutter loss in slant paths
In this article, we present our work toward the development of a clutter loss model for slant paths. This loss must be added to that due to free space to work out the overall signal decay between a transmitter on the ground and an elevated receiver: satellite, airborne platform, autonomous aerial vehicle (AAV), etc., and vice versa. The calculation of this parameter is relevant in interference studies, especially at this point where there is a significant demand for spectrum, and there is the need to share bands between different applications and services. We propose here a physical-statistical approach which is elevation-dependent while it encompasses all possible azimuths. It smoothly covers a wide range of frequencies from the low UHF to millimeter waves. The modeling is mainly oriented toward interference calculations. This article presents material we have contributed to ITU-R efforts for developing an improved recommendation (ITU-R Rec. P.2108) on clutter loss modeling.European Space Agency through the Development and Verification of Earth-Space Statistical Clutter Loss Model | Ref. 4000133665/20/NL/ASAgencia Estatal de Investigación de España | Ref.
