VARIATIONS IN THE QUANTITY AND QUALITY OF PERSIAN WHEAT GENOTYPES UNDER NORMAL IRRIGATED AND RAIN-FED CONDITIONS
Full text linkThe importance of wheat in providing staple food for many populations is not disputed, but drought stress can significantly reduce the yield and quality of the grain. Thirty one genotypes of bread wheat were examined under normal irrigated and rain-fed conditions for their protein, Fe, Zn, Cu, Mn, P, Na and K grain concentrations. The experiment was conducted as a split-plot (irrigated and rain-fed as main plots and 31 cultivars as sub-plots) in a randomized complete block design with three replications in Sanandaj, Kurdistan, Iran, during the 2013-2014 cropping season. Based on a two-way Anova, we found large inter-genotype variations among the traits. Significant differences were also observed for the genotypes between normal irrigated and rain-fed conditions. Except for the grain protein concentration, which showed only a 1.93 % increase, the rain-fed conditions negatively affected each of the other traits significantly. Major effects were found for grain yield, number of grains per spike and grain Zn concentration, showing 43.09 %, 27.74 % and 23.88 % reductions, respectively. Negative correlations were observed between grain yield and grain protein, Fe, Zn, Cu, Mn, P and Na concentrations. Our data show that breeding for higher tonnage-yield during the past 80 years has brought success but at the cost of lower concentrations of protein and microelements in the wheat grains.

ABSTRACT
La importancia del trigo como alimento de la poblaci\uf3n es reconocida a nivel mundial, pero los d\ue9ficits h\ueddricos pueden reducir dr\ue1sticamente la cantidad y calidad del grano. Se evaluaron variables de producci\uf3n y contenidos de prote\uedna y minerales en 31genotipos de trigo bajo condiciones de riego y secano. El experimento se condujo bajo un arreglo en parcelas divididas (condici\uf3n de humedad en las parcelas principales y los genotipos en las sub-parcelas) en un dise\uf1o en bloques completos al azar con tres repeticiones en Sanandaj, Kurdistan, Iran, durante el ciclo de crecimiento 2013-2014. Se encontraron diferencias entre los genotipos y entre las condiciones de humedad para las diferentes variables. Con excepci\uf3n de la concentraci\uf3n de prote\uednas, la cual mostr\uf3 solamente un incremento de 1,93 %, la condici\uf3n de secano afect\uf3 negativamente las otras variables. Los principales efectos se produjeron en el rendimiento del grano, n\ufamero de granos por espiga, y concentraci\uf3n de Zn, con reducciones de 43,09, 27.74 and 23.88 %, respectivamente. Asimismo, hubo correlaciones negativas entre el rendimiento del grano y las concentraciones de prote\uedna, Fe, Zn, Cu, Mn, P y Na. Los resultados muestran que el mejoramiento gen\ue9tico para aumentar el rendimiento durante los \ufaltimos 80 a\uf1os ha sido exitoso pero a un costo de menores concentraciones de prote\uedna y micronutrientes en el grano de trigo.

No full textEste ensayo cr\uedtico plantea algunas reflexiones respecto a las pr\ue1cticas sociales de curaci\uf3n que coexisten con la Medicina cient\uedfica en Venezuela, de acuerdo a lo expresado por m\ue9dicos expertos, j\uf3venes especialistas m\ue9dicos y usuarios de los servicios de salud, en la Venezuela Socialista del Siglo XXI. El inter\ue9s de tal indagaci\uf3n se centr\uf3 en interpretar con criticidad los significados del discurso m\ue9dico acerca de las caracter\uedsticas de la medicina cient\uedfica y pre cient\uedfica, as\ued como las experiencias de usuarios que combinaron medicina cient\uedfica con pr\ue1cticas de medicina tradicional para buscar soluci\uf3n a sus problemas de salud. El an\ue1lisis cr\uedtico del discurso descrito por Teun Van Dijk orient\uf3 el abordaje. Se develaron diferencias en los testimonios: Mientras los m\ue9dicos expertos centraron su atenci\uf3n en la importancia de la Medicina cient\uedfica, sus logros y retos, la necesidad de realizar investigaci\uf3n cient\uedfica para descubrir las verdades que ocultan las pr\ue1cticas tradicionales, los m\ue9dicos j\uf3venes centraron su atenci\uf3n en la hegemon\ueda de la formaci\uf3n cient\uedfica durante la carrera de Medicina, la marginaci\uf3n que sufren las pr\ue1cticas tradicionales de curaci\uf3n en investigaci\uf3n, formaci\uf3n y pr\ue1ctica m\ue9dica, el uso frecuente de tales pr\ue1cticas tradicionales de curaci\uf3n por la poblaci\uf3n. Las inquietudes plasmadas por usuarios revelaron la complementariedad de la Medicina cient\uedfica y pr\ue1cticas tradicionales. Como cierre se discuten los horizontes de cambio que pueden ser \ufatiles para la reconstrucci\uf3n de la Atenci\uf3n de Salud en Venezuela: Integraci\uf3n Te\uf3rica Cr\uedtica de los Paradigmas Contempor\ue1neo Biom\ue9dico y Tradicional Sociom\ue9dico desde la Interdisciplinariedad.

ABSTRACT
This essay lays out some thoughts regarding the social healing practices that coexist with scientific Medicine in Venezuela, pursuant to what has been expressed by expert doctors, young specialist doctors and users of the healthcare services in the Socialist Venezuela of the 21st century. The interest of such research focused on interpreting with a critical spirit the meanings of the medical discourse regarding the characteristics of scientific and pre-scientific medicine, as well as the users' experiences who combined scientific medicine with traditional medicine practices in the search for a solution to their health problems. I took the critical analysis of discourse described by Teun Van Dijk as core of the investigation. I found differences between medical voices: While expert doctors centered their attention on the importance of scientific Medicine, its achievements, challenges and contradictions, thinking about the need to apply scientific medicine in order to reveal truths hidden by traditional practices, young doctors focused their attention on the supremacy of scientific training during medical education, the discrimination suffered by traditional healing practices under medical training and medical practice, as opposed to the frequent use of traditional healing practices in the rural and urban populations they have assisted. The concerns expressed by users of the healthcare services revealed a complementary coexistence of Medicine and traditional practices. To conclude, the horizons of change that might a complementary coexistence be useful for the reconstruction of the Healthcare System in Venezuela were presented: Critical & Theoretical Integration of the Contemporary Biomedical and Traditional Sociomedical Paradigms from an interdisciplinary point of view.

No full textEn el presente escrito se muestra una revisi\uf3n del texto Din\ue1mica Estructural Aplicada al Dise\uf1o S\uedsmico del Profesor Luis Enrique Garc\ueda Reyes, de la Universidad de los Andes, Bogot\ue1, Colombia, en el que se recogen las apreciaciones m\ue1s relevantes de su contenido. A pesar de que ha sido publicado en 1998, la tem\ue1tica tratada sigue estando vigente, y debido a la forma y secuencia en que son presentados los contenidos, es de f\ue1cil comprensi\uf3n para un estudiante de pregrado en ingenier\ueda en la mayor\ueda de sus cap\uedtulos, siendo empleado como libro texto en la asignatura Din\ue1mica de Estructuras de la Universidad Polit\ue9cnica Salesiana del Ecuador.

ABSTRACT
This paper shows a revision of the text Structural Dynamics Applied to the Seismic Design of Professor Luis Enrique Garc\ueda Reyes, from the Universidad de los Andes, Bogot\ue1, Colombia, in which the most relevant appraisals of its content are collected. Although it has been published in 1998, the subject matter is still valid, and due to the form and sequence in which the contents are presented, it is easy for an undergraduate student in engineering to understand in most of its chapters, being used as text book in the subject Dynamics of Structures of the Universidad Polit\ue9cnica Salesiana del Ecuador.

LA RESPONSABILIDAD SOCIAL EMPRESARIAL Y LOS OBJETIVOS DEL DESARROLLO SOSTENIBLE (ODS)
No full textLos Objetivos del Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) son una oportunidad para que las empresas ampl\ueden la Responsabilidad Social Empresarial (RSE), iniciativa que constituye uno de los esfuerzos globales por traducir en algo concreto y medible el desarrollo sostenible. En este desaf\uedo, han sido incluidas las empresas como un actor relevante para la consecuci\uf3n de los mismos y en la actualidad las organizaciones empresariales deber\uedan ser conscientes de los amplios beneficios que esto acarrea. En tal sentido, el objetivo de la investigaci\uf3n fue describir las operaciones de una empresa de servicios industriales y de ingenier\ueda de la regi\uf3n Centroccidental, de tal manera que permitiera diagnosticar si la misma realiza acciones de responsabilidad social empresarial en funci\uf3n a los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), recogidos en el documento de la CEPAL Agenda 2030 y los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible Una oportunidad para Am\ue9rica Latina y el Caribe. Los resultados demuestran que a pesar de que los actores clave de la empresa no ten\uedan conocimiento de la existencia de los ODS y su impacto en la sociedad, en sus operaciones se incorporan pr\ue1cticas y pol\uedticas encaminadas a su consecuci\uf3n. Finalmente en el trabajo se propuso una metodolog\ueda que recomienda la C\ue1mara Oficial de Comercio, Industria y Navegaci\uf3n de Valencia, Espa\uf1a, como gu\ueda para que las empresas ampl\ueden sus pr\ue1cticas de RSE, la misma fue adaptada en funci\uf3n a las caracter\uedsticas de la empresa objeto de estudio.

ABSTRACT
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are an opportunity for companies to expand Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), an initiative that is one of the global efforts to translate sustainable development into something concrete and measurable. In this challenge, companies have been included as a relevant actor to
achieve them and today business organizations should be aware of the broad benefits that this entails. In this sense, the objective of the research was to describe the operations of an industrial and engineering services company in the Central-Western region, in such a way as to diagnose whether it carries out corporate social
responsibility actions in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals. (SDGs), included in the CEPAL document Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals An opportunity for Latin America and the Caribbean. The results show that even though the company's key stakeholders were not aware of the existence of the SDGs and their impact on society, their operations incorporate practices and policies aimed at achieving them. Finally, a methodology was suggested into the work recommended by the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Valencia, Spain, as a guide for companies to expand their CSR practices, which was adapted according to the characteristics of the company that is the object of the study.

LA \uc9TICA GERENCIAL EN LAS ORGANIZACIONES FARMAC\uc9UTICAS VENEZOLANAS. UNA APROXIMACI 3N TE 3RICO-AXIOL 3GICA
No full textEsta investigaci\uf3n permiti\uf3 indagar los sentidos y significados que los informantes clave le dan a la \ue9tica en las organizaciones farmac\ue9uticas venezolanas y, sobre la base de los hallazgos, construir una aproximaci\uf3n te\uf3rico-axiol\uf3gica de la \ue9tica gerencial en las organizaciones farmac\ue9uticas venezolanas. Para el logro de estos prop\uf3sitos el estudio fue orientado con el paradigma Interpretativo con enfoque cualitativo, como sendero para conocer la realidad de la praxis de la \ue9tica en la gerencia de las organizaciones farmac\ue9uticas que subyace en las personas que se desempe\uf1an en ellas como profesionales. Se asume una posici\uf3n ontol\uf3gica de la realidad social de naturaleza subjetiva, variada y plural, se aborda este estudio desde una dimensi\uf3n epistemol\uf3gica comprensiva, dial\uf3gica e intersubjetiva. Es por ello que se recurre a la interpretaci\uf3n como camino metodol\uf3gico, apoyado en el m\ue9todo fenomenol\uf3gico-hermen\ue9utico. Como contexto se seleccionaron dos (2) organizaciones farmac\ue9uticas pertenecientes a las Cadenas farmac\ue9uticas y dos (2) organizaciones farmac\ue9uticas comunes y como protagonistas a seis (6) profesionales farmac\ue9uticos. Para recoger la informaci\uf3n, se utiliz\uf3 la entrevista en profundidad y se analiz\uf3 la informaci\uf3n aplicando los criterios de la categorizaci\uf3n y triangulaci\uf3n de la informaci\uf3n proveniente de los diferentes versionantes. Los hallazgos permitieron generar una aproximaci\uf3n te\uf3rico-axiol\uf3gica de la \ue9tica gerencial en las organizaciones farmac\ue9uticas venezolanas y una serie de reflexiones sobre el t\uf3pico estudiado.

ABSTRACT
This investigation allowed investigating the meanings and meanings that key informants give to ethics in Venezuelan pharmaceutical organizations and, based on the findings, construct a theoretical-axiological approach to managerial ethics in Venezuelan pharmaceutical organizations. To achieve these purposes, the study was oriented with the interpretive paradigm with qualitative approach, as a path to know the reality of the practice of ethics in the management of pharmaceutical organizations that underlies the people who work in them as professionals. It assumes an ontological position of the social reality of a subjective, varied and plural nature, this study is approached from a comprehensive, dialogical and intersubjective epistemological dimension. That is why we resort to interpretation as a methodological path, supported by the phenomenologicalhermeneutical method. As a context, two (2) pharmaceutical organizations belonging to the Pharmaceutical Chains and two (2) common pharmaceutical organizations were selected and six (6) pharmaceutical professionals were the protagonists. To collect the information, the in-depth interview was used and the information was analyzed applying the criteria of the categorization and triangulation of the information coming from the different versions. The findings allowed us to generate a theoretical-axiological approach to managerial ethics in Venezuelan pharmaceutical organizations and a series of reflections on the topic studied.

No full textLa presente investigaci\uf3n tiene como prop\uf3sito conocer la Educaci\uf3n F\uedsica en la formaci\uf3n del servicio de polic\ueda: Una cosmovisi\uf3n desde la perspectiva pedag\uf3gica humanista en la Universidad Nacional Experimental de la Seguridad. En ese sentido, la intenci\uf3n es develar desde el lenguaje expresado por los actores sociales en cuanto a las conductas y roles asumidos en los encuentros pedag\uf3gicos planificados en el \ue1mbito de la Educaci\uf3n F\uedsica. Metodol\uf3gicamente, este estudio es desarrollado mediante un enfoque cualitativo, bajo la perspectiva te\uf3rica del interpretativismo, abordado desde un m\ue9todo fenomenol\uf3gico, apoyado con la intersubjetividad de los versionantes claves, seleccionados de acuerdo a\uf1os de experiencias, deseo de participaci\uf3n y vivencias obtenidas de car\ue1cter ontoepistemol\uf3gico. De igual manera, se us\uf3 la t\ue9cnica de la observaci\uf3n y la entrevista semiestructurada tipo conversacional. El estudio permiti\uf3 visualizar, la permanencia del arquetipo coercitivo en cuanto a la preparaci\uf3n F\uedsica policial en los espacios del centro de formaci\uf3n Lara. Al mismo tiempo, se percibi\uf3 que hay reincidencia en las pr\ue1cticas implacables en nombre de la educaci\uf3n f\uedsica, invalidando el papel preponderante que dicha disciplina contempla en sus principios pedag\uf3gicos. Lo que genera un ambiente de incertidumbre entre directores, coordinadores, docentes y estudiantes; siendo estos \ufaltimos los m\ue1s afectados dentro del proceso educacional.

ABSTRACT
The present research aims to establish the possible relationship between the degree of integration of Information and communication technologies The present investigation has as purpose to know the Physical Education in the formation of the police service: A worldview from the humanistic pedagogical perspective in the National Experimental University of the Security. In this sense, the intention is to unveil from the language expressed by the social actors in terms of the behaviors and roles assumed in the pedagogical meetings planned in the field of Physical Education. Methodologically, this study is developed through a qualitative approach, under the theoretical perspective of interpretativism, approached from a phenomenological method, supported by the intersubjectivity of key versions, selected according to years of experience, desire to participate and experiences obtained from an ontoepistemological nature. Similarly, the observation technique and the semi-structured conversational type interview were used. The study allowed us to visualize the permanence of the coercive archetype in terms of police physical preparation in the spaces of the Lara training center. At the same time, it was perceived that there is recidivism in implacable practices in the name of physical education, invalidating the preponderant role that said discipline contemplates in its pedagogical principles. What generates an environment of uncertainty among directors, coordinators, teachers and students; the latter being the most affected within the educational process.

Full text linkUna de las pol\uedticas de la Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado (UCLA) es la de gestionar cambios que permitan la integraci\uf3n acad\ue9mica para la producci\uf3n de investigaci\uf3n que impulsen el desarrollo sostenible, la formaci\uf3n de profesionales integrales e intercambio de conocimientos, acorde a los requerimientos de la sociedad. Con el fin de determinar el alcance del Decanato de Ciencias Veterinarias (DCV) en el cumplimiento de esta pol\uedtica institucional, nos planteamos como objetivo evaluar la vinculaci\uf3n del DCV con el sector agropecuario de la regi\uf3n Centroccidental. Esta investigaci\uf3n de tipo descriptiva, observacional, de seguimiento, y retrospectiva, se apoy\uf3 en documentos obtenidos de la Coordinaci\uf3n de Investigaci\uf3n del DCV sobre los \ufaltimos cinco (5) a\uf1os as\ued mismo de las Unidades de Investigaci\uf3n operativas (Unidad de Investigaci\uf3n en Ciencias Funcionales "Dr. Haity Moussatch\ue9" (UNIHM) y la Unidad de Parasitolog\ueda Veterinaria (UNIPARVET). Se tomaron como par\ue1metros de evaluaci\uf3n: proyectos de investigaci\uf3n, publicaciones, difusi\uf3n del conocimiento, asesor\ueda y servicios, enmarcados en las l\uedneas de investigaci\uf3n que tienen impacto en el sector agropecuario de la regi\uf3n. Evaluar y comunicar c\uf3mo se ha realizado la vinculaci\uf3n en estos cinco a\uf1os as\ued como el aprendizaje y la asimilaci\uf3n tecnol\uf3gica de estudiantes de pre y postgrado, investigadores y de los propios productores es una forma de mostrar la presencia de la Universidad en el desarrollo cient\uedfico, tecnol\uf3gico, innovativo y productivo de la regi\uf3n y del pa\ueds.

ABSTRACT
One of the policies of the University Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado (UCLA) is the allocation of changes that allow academic integration for the production of research that promote sustainable development, the training of integral professionals and the exchange of knowledge, according to the requirements of the society. In order to determine the scope of the Deanship of Veterinary Sciences (DCV) in compliance with this institutional policy, we set ourselves the objective of evaluating the relationship of the CSD with the agricultural sector of the Central-Western region. This descriptive, observational, follow-up, and retrospective research was based on published documents from the DCV Research Coordination over the last five (5) years as well as the Functional Research Units. Dr. Haity Moussatch\ue9 "(UNIHM) and the Veterinary Parasitology Unit (UNIPARVET) Criteria for evaluation: research projects, publications, knowledge dissemination, advice and services, framed in the lines of research that have an impact on the agricultural sector The evaluation and communication of how the link has been made in these five years, as well as the learning and technological assimilation of undergraduate and graduate students, researchers and the producers themselves, is a way to show the presence of the University in the scientific, technological, innovative and productive development of the region and the country.
