The internet has been revolutionizing the way people connect, communicate, and consume information. In the digital world, social media has introduced new forms of influence, emerging trends, and shifts in opinion. In this context, influencer marketing proves to be an essential strategy for brands to build well-known and solid relationships with consumers, with digital influencers serving as the foundation of this strategy due to their direct impact on the public and their ability to drive communication. These influencers promote products, shape styles, inspire audiences, and create narratives that help bring brands closer to their consumers. In the fashion industry, digital influencers have gained prominence, setting trends in an engaging and captivating way. Additionally, the fashion context provides an environment where factors such as the influencer’s image or perceived aloofness can play a role. In this regard, this study analyzes the influence of changes, trends, and the perceived aloofness of fashion influencers on consumers' attitudes and behavioral thoughts towards them. Using data from consumer surveys, the results show that an influencer’s attractiveness, moderation, and aloofness positively impact a follower’s attitude towards them, and that this attitude contributes to the intention to recommend the influencer’s account but does not influence the intention to follow their advice. These findings provide valuable insights for both influencers and brand managers or communication directors who seek to implement digital influencer marketing strategies

Article number - 2193Nature-based solutions (NbS) are increasingly recognized as strategic alternatives and complements to grey infrastructure for addressing water-related challenges in the context of climate change, urbanization, and biodiversity decline. This article presents a critical, theory-informed review of the state of NbS implementation in European water management, drawing on a structured synthesis of empirical evidence from regional case studies and policy frameworks. The analysis found that while NbS are effective in reducing surface runoff, mitigating floods, and improving water quality under low- to moderate-intensity events, their performance remains uncertain under extreme climate scenarios. Key gaps identified include the lack of long-term monitoring data, limited assessment of NbS under future climate conditions, and weak integration into mainstream planning and financing systems. Existing evaluation frameworks are critiqued for treating NbS as static interventions, overlooking their ecological dynamics and temporal variability. In response, a dynamic, climate-resilient assessment model is proposed—grounded in systems thinking, backcasting, and participatory scenario planning—to evaluate NbS adaptively. Emerging innovations, such as hybrid green–grey infrastructure, adaptive governance models, and novel financing mechanisms, are highlighted as key enablers for scaling NbS. The article contributes to the scientific literature by bridging theoretical and empirical insights, offering region-specific findings and recommendations based on a comparative analysis across diverse European contexts. These findings provide conceptual and methodological tools to better design, evaluate, and scale NbS for transformative, equitable, and climate-resilient water governance. This research is financed by National Funds of the FCT—Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology within the project «UIDB/04928/2020» and under the Scientific Employment Stimulus-Institutional Call CEECINST/00051/2018

A literature review shows that the older population, with lower levels of digital literacy, faces specific challenges with this type of service. The aim of this study was to understand the way older people with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease or long COVID perceive the implementation of telerehabilitation programs to meet their healthcare needs. Methods A qualitative study was conducted using semi-structured interviews to answer the research question: How do older people perceive telerehabilitation programs? The study participants were 17 people aged ≥ 65 years old who had completed a respiratory telerehabilitation program at a Portuguese hospital. The interviews were submitted to content analysis using WebQDA® qualitative data analysis software. Results The study participants had an average age of 70.94 ± 7.44 years old. The content of the interviews with these older people points to easy adaptation to the telerehabilitation program. Three categories and their respectives subcategories emerged from the content analysis: (1) access and continuity of care (access, continuity of care, and self-management); (2) presence (communication with the team and maintaining relationships); and (3) experience in the program (comfort, advantages, and difficulties). Conclusions This study allows for an understanding of how older people perceive participation in telerehabilitation programs, what they value, and the difficulties they experience. It makes it possible to make recommendations for clinic practice and research into this emerging area of health care. The present study was funded by the Center for Research, Innovation, and Development in Nursing, in Portugal, by means of grants provided to some of the authors

    No full text
The main objective of this dissertation is the development and validation of an architecture based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for the automatic recognition of the invasive species Acacia dealbata in forest environments, using images captured by Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The Acacia dealbata is a fast-growing tree, native to southeastern Australia, which can reach up to 30 meters in height and is distinguished by its yellow flowers. To this end, specific goals were defined, such as automating data preprocessing through scripts dedicated to the extraction, segmentation, and labeling of images from UAV videos. For the CNN development process, several architectures were explored. Initial tests with VGG16 revealed limitations, particularly due to the large size and number of similar images in the dataset, which resulted in low Accuracy and F1-Score values. The transition to the ResNet50V2 architecture brought some improvements, with overall better performance. However, the most significant progress was achieved with the development of a CNN built from scratch, combined with a more optimized dataset. The performance evaluation of the model demonstrated its effectiveness and robustness. The final model, obtained from the tests with the custom CNN and the second dataset, presented a strong generalization ability in detecting Acacia dealbata, confirmed by an Accuracy of 0.8178 and an F1-Score of 0.8459. These results validate the potential of CNNs in species classification in forest environments and represent a significant contribution to environmental management. Following this study, future work may include expanding and diversifying the dataset with new recordings in different geographic locations and under various atmospheric conditions, also aiming at a wider variety of species. Moreover, adapting the model for multi-class classification could be explored, enabling the identification of multiple species
