The purpose of this study is to clarify the viewing purpose and contents of early childhood care and education (ECCE)-related videos on the video streaming service YouTube by students who want to become ECCE teachers and to capture their learning situations and needs. A questionnaire was distributed to 1,223 students from junior colleges and four-year colleges in Japan asking about their experiences viewing ECCE-related videos, the reasons for viewing them and their content, etc. Responses were received from 921 students. An analysis of these results revealed that approximately 87% of respondents had some prior experience watching ECCErelated videos, and many of them watched videos explaining and introducing fingerplays and similar techniques for reasons such as preparing class assignments and preparing for practical training. This tendency became more pronounced as they advanced in school and gained practical training experience. ECCE-related videos may substantially support students’ learning activities, with a focus on practical skills

Leucanthemella linearis (Matsum.) Tzvelev is an endangered species of a perennial herb that grows in wetlands of East Asia, including Japan. Its habitats are deteriorating nationwide in Japan, and it currently exists in only six prefectures: Ibaraki, Shizuoka, Gifu, Aichi, Okayama, and Hiroshima. In recent years, the remaining natural habitat for this species in Fukutomi Town (Higashihiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture) has rapidly deteriorated, mainly due to feeding damage caused by sika deer (Cervus nippon). In this study, we report the results of field surveys and conservation activities conducted collaboratively by the university, a local junior high school, and local residents, with the aim of restoring the species’ habitat. Based on the results of these activities, we make recommendations for future conservation measures
